Jazzy and Shep: My thighs were too big for hot pants, but I did wear platform shoes! I also had a pair of those lace-up boots.

Chevy: My dad bought a 57 Chevy station wagon. My brothers still have it. It was the best for trips and going to the drive in.

My DH's Brother still has his 56 Corvette! He is the one that put a super-charger on it at one time.... I hated riding in that car.... ONE time, when his Brother was in Viet Nam, DH asked me to take a ride with him.... Up the alley wasn't so bad.... turned, went a block, turned right by the school, and he stomped that thing!!!! I SCREAMED just as the hood was flying off, air-borne, over the school fence, and landed on the playground !!!!!

I walked home.... needless to say. I HATED going fast! Never rode with him again in that car!

Yes, that 57 was beautiful! All black.... Black & red leather upholstery.... and everything in the car AND under the hood was chromed....

    Exactly like this one.......

WildT ~ What???? Why would I have been offended? If anything I was flattered that you would think me so industrious! Didn't you see my post that I watch Forensic Files for the educational value?

Chevy, that's exactly what the front end of our Chevy looked like, but it was copper tone color.

Dang Sensi! The wind really did a number on your fence! Vinyl fences blow over easy; yours is solid wood! Big smile on my face right now looking at Chance. He is such a happy boy 🐶

It is quiet tonite....everyone must stlll be tired from the other night?

Loverly ~ Hope the storm passed by without any damage or power loss. Mitzy must be feeling safe and secure to not be worried about the thunder and lightning. Were you able to go back to sleep? No fun waking up like that ⛈

Susie ~ So sorry about your grandson. Sending healing thoughts.

Peppy ~ I'm following Loverly's lead 'cuz I keep typeing "Poopy" by accident 😳 I really, really like you, honest! It's just that o and p are too close together on the keyboard....

Yes, kumquat sounds very bad. (who named it? ugh) The fruits are the size of a large gumball. Not much to them but they have a nice flavour - sweet orange without any bitterness, My tree bears fruit pretty much year round. The blossoms smell so pretty, just like the ones on an orange tree. I also have two orange trees. They aren't as hardy as the kumquat. Very cold sensitive. Only two oranges in 8 years! They were really good though! Are the manderins hard to grow? I don't think I've ever eaten one. Are they like oranges?

Jazzy ~ A tall, leggy blonde should never have any shame - Wear those hot pants with pride! Those were so risque back then...now we have Daisy Dukes! Hope you had fun lunching and that the movie was good 🙂

Chevy ~ WOW! That car is a beauty. Love the classics. New cars all look alike and haven't any personality. I would have screamed and gotten out too after the hood flew off the Vette. I hope the schoolyard was empty. Scary, scary!

Spookie ~ Dang, that sucks about DH's docs. If any type of surgery is out, it seems like something could be done for his pain. What is it about men that they see putting up with agonizing pain as some kind of manly feat? (they really aren't bright creatures are they?)

Oooo, the vice grips shifter......that's actually kinda cool. Very creative! My first car was an old Toyota. The windshield wipers broke and had to be operated manually until I could figure out how to fix them. My bestie would have to ride with me when it rained so we could each pull one of the pieces of twine tied to the wipers! It worked like this:

Susie, hope you will hear good news soon. Hang tight.

Now you know why I named JQ, Peppy. Hah! My autocorrect is terrible. I was able to squeeze in maybe 40 mins of sleep b4 the alarm went off.

Oh MY, Sensi!! Lots of down fences in our neighborhood too. I am surprised ours are still standing. More storms are coming. Love to stay up and chat, but Sleepy head tonight. Will try to play tomorrow.

    Nite

Susie, hope you are able to find the flight to Utah. May Ethan and Jeremy be a living testimony of God's grace and love. Praying for strength and peace for you all of what is paved ahead. Hugs.

ShepK, I just had a chance to watch the video. Hahahaha, you crack me up!! Got to do what you got to do. The storm came around 4:00 this morning. I was worried the hard pounding of the rain droplets would break our glass windows. Could not go right back to sleep because not long after I woke up I had pain on right lower quadrant. Same pain I had yesterday at work. Of course the mind took me to the dark place. AND then I remembered I had lentil mixed bean soup for dinner. Yes, gotta be the trapped wind. Sometimes you have to calm the mind down lest you get a panic attack.

Sensi, good mama!! Love the look on Chance's face. No dog park for Mitzy. The last time I took her there, she rolled in something nasty. I am trying not to give her weekly bath because of her skin condition so got to keep her clean. Poor girl does not get to live like a dog should because of her neurotic mom. I was able to walk her last night before the storm came. She is now sleeping next to the sofa where I am sitting. So peaceful.

Jazzy, hope your headache is gone. There is much more pressure/ noise with drilling through the crown. Had to see an endodontic last year because there was minor bone loss with one of my crown teeth. Stressful experience. I often get on my girls' case about taking care of there teeth. I didn't have good dental care growing up and don't want them to go through the stress. So far neither have cavities. Praise God! How was your outing?

JunieB, Honest Kitchen responded and offer to send me samples of their lower sodium options. Can't seem to find the sodium content on the box. Sent them another email. Curious to see how much more salt is in the Brave. I read that food sensitivity can cause increased thirst also. Interesting. Didn't know that.

Hey Susan, how are you doing?

WildT, hope you get the rest you need this weekend. Wow, you are up while most of us are still in our REM sleep!

Ms. Chevy, I meant to tell you I could only see one( middle) of the three pics you posted of Lacee. The other two are blanks.

Ms. Spookie, I am sorry you have to hear Mr. groan in pain :( Why are they so stubborn and not seek help??

Loverly- the headache is gone. My new temp crown is doing okay. I have had bone loss in that tooth as well. Everything you do creates another problem, yes? I am fortunate to have good teeth and few problems, but have had more issues the past year. My mother had osteoporosis and of the teeth too so I am watchful. Thanks for checking in.

I had a lovely outing yesterday with my friend, Delicious pad thai with bbq pork for lunch, and then we saw the movie, Hidden Figures. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time, and a true story about three women who worked for NASA in the early 60s and overcame some enormous biases. It was highly inspirational and feel good. I recommend it!

I am off to yoga class shortly. Ha ha, when I am not doing yoga you wonder?

tsk tsk tsk (shaking my head).

Jazzy, you work hard and play well....good for you! Pad Thai and BBQ pork~ yum! Hidden Figures sounds like a good one to watch. Besides comedy, I love inspirational movies. l really enjoy Octavia Spencer in The Help. Yup, got to balance it out with yoga. Ha!

I miss cable TV. Used to watch Forensic File on the TLC too....oh the mind of a criminal . Have not watched Criminal Mind or Law and Order SVU lately either. What have I been doing with my time?

Peppy, Sensi, and Ms. S, we will be hiking Tomales Point trail in the Bay Area on February 25th. You want to join me?I can drive.

Shepk, mandarin is smaller and easier to peel than an orange. The flesh is not as fibrous as that of an orange. It has its own distinct citrus fragrance. One thing nice about the west side here is we have many varieties of fruits and vegetables compared to the east side of the States.

Shep - Thank you for not pushing the o instead of the p, makes a big difference! Maybe I should change my name again this time to Peppy I actually like it. Mandarines - do they not have Cuties in your land? Yum

    image

Sensi - That poor fence and the wind has been bad again. Does that mean the doggies have to stay in more?

Spookie - What color is your Kris supposed to be?

Loverly - The hike would be fun for our next get together! Not sure on timing...

Went to see obgyn/oncologist today. Cant remember if I shared that my genetic testing came back PALB2 positive. There isnt a lot known about it yet but Ovarian cancer (as well as Pancreatic) is linked to it so Oophorectomy is my next step sometime in February. Can you believe Oophorectomy!

Yep that's Kris on the coffee table.

Our dog park floods every summer in the monsoon season. I wasn't watching him closely that night, and, well, that's what happened. If you look at his dirty picture, that's Spookie to his left. Her feet are a little dirty. Good thing she didn't follow him, it's over her headimage

Susie, so sorry to here about your grandson. Saying prayers for him and all the family.

Chance and Kris look like they know how to have fun, LOL. Lover, we had a beagle that loved to roll in ... I'll let your mind fill that one in. I had just shampooed my rugs and furniture the day before. Hubby walked him before he went to work as I'm getting my oldest ready for school. Yup, he hit the rugs and furniture. My girls were infants and I wouldn't bring them downstairs until I cleaned everything again. Needless to say, hubby got an earful.

A good orange is a Minneola. Nice size and sweet and juicy. So far they don't have a long season. Yummy.

Evie and Elena are beautiful girls. Growing so fast.

JunieB, how is Kirby doing? We need another picture of the cutie.

Down to watching only two TV shows. Sherlock, because of Benedict Cumberbatch, and Finding Your Roots, doing the family ancestry thing.

Have not been able to get hubby to go to the doctor. Told him he was on a slippery slope with his health. Part of his stubbornness stems from the fact thathis parents went to the doctor for the slightest of things. Told him there is a difference between doing that and going when there is a Real problem.

Shep, love the nite nite picture of Tuna. I don't know if anyone knows about him. He is a rescue dog, Chihuahua and Dachshund I believe. Has a really bad overbite. Does a lot of travel promoting pet adoption.

If you go see Hidden Figures, see this afterwards. It's a great movie but made me sad and mad. And a bit ashamed to be white. Wasn't raised that way.

An interesting story about the similarities and differences between the movie and real life.

    Susie, Hope grandson is better.

Sensi, I think you both got a bath!

Evie, recently. Apparently they were both after GDs food!

Got back from retreat on Wednesday. Everything is put away and I'm getting stuff ready for the next 2. Since I probably won't be able to lift anything for awhile, I'm trying to make it easy for whose helping me. I didn't get anything finished at the last retreat. I don't know where 4 days went! I did start Evie's tuffet but only got half sewn. I need to do the other half before Tuesday.

I don't know about the hike. I'll see!

Hi feline. How's your part of the world doing? Racy weather? Nothing down here. A few branches broke but no damage done.

    Night. Quilt class tomorrow morning

Susie, My thoughts are with you.

I'll have to go back and take notes..have been reading and thinking of all of you, and hoping the best for each of you.

    My update...

I'm tired..I worked T-F this week, and two days were six hour shifts. A shock to my system! I'm clearly not as strong as I used to be and some movements I could feel internally, where I had IMF work done. It's discouraging to not be able to do things.

I've planned my next surgery for April..fat grafting. It's going to be necessary to achieve symmetry.

This morning I'm starting Anastrozole. One AI caused severe joint pain, another a rash, so hoping this one is kind to me.

Hoping to catch up with all of you tonight or tomorrow. Have a good day everyone!

Smaarty, the daffoldils are coming up here. The year round bird population is being swollen by our migratory birds returning. YOU can really hear the difference in the dawn chorus. It's great.

Susie glad to hear you are with your daughter. May God bless and protect Ethan.
