Praise the Lord, we arrived home safely even with all the rain and snow...
There is snow up there but you can barely see it. Lots of snow on The Grapevine coming out of LA further north, but camera was put away.
-
I'm pretty much all unpacked after our Palm Springs/Joshua Tree trip (but daughter and husband left all their shiz in the foyer and hallway, oh well). I don't care anymore. I'm too tired. Having a glass of wine and then going to bed!!! Mr. Diarrhea was cooperative for the trip after I slayed him with a few DOUBLE doses of Imodium.
We were there when the Obamas flew in to Palm Springs. Couldn't see them because of the security stuff, but we drove by Thunderbird at Rancho Mirage, where all of the previous Presidents usually stay, and we cheered and gave a heartfelt salute, saying "Thank you, my dear sir, for serving our country so well with dignity and grace." Also, daughter is going to buy me a stuffed toy organ.....Mr. Colon!!! (You can get them on line.) I'm thinking of setting up an altar to keep the nasty colon deities at bay so I won't have to wear frickin' Depends all the time

Sorry I have been absent from here but I have been crazy busy lately
-
Lita-glad you made it home safely. The weather has been crazy.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend!
-
-
Where are our leaders? Shep....
-
The whole California has been hit with series of storms. I couldn't sleep yesterday for fear the glass windows would break with the strong wind. That was some strong wind! Feel bad for the homeless here.
Glad you arrived home safely, Lita.
Sensi, how was your "Monday"?
Peppy, possible surgery in February
??
Ms. S, are you ready? Evie has that mischievous smile.
JunieB, do you have new mom sleep deprivation?
WildT, so which one are you? Poet, thinker, silence seekers...
Ms. Chevy, you can't be out in your yard working yet. Are you knitting?
Susan, you have been quiet too. Hope things are ok and you are just enjoying your time with Elena.
Shepk, yoooohooo.
Kath, DH is stubborn too. He has high cholesterol, but still indulges in sweets and red meat
Mommy, are you taking classes this term?
My niece:
4 weeks tomorrow. Hopefully, I will get to see her next week. They are moving back to California. Yay!
-
Sensi, it is still too early for her to land.
-
Sensi, Lovely..You still here?
Lovely, I would be the overthinker.
My son is getting a sleep study right now. He's sleeping, so that's good. Parent bed So hard!
-
Lover-my Monday was good. Just getting ready for bed. My nap after work has me up still. Your niece is adorable. I look forward to more pictures.
Our weather has been horrible. The winds woke me up at 4 today. I often worry about the homeless too. I know of a couple of places, where tents are set up. I just threw an extra sleeping bag in my truck, so I can give it to someone. Wish there was more I could do.
Waving hello to Wil

Yes, nap can mess up your sleep pattern. I used to have ponchos in my car. Need to stock up.On my way to work, I often see people sleeping on the street or corners. Seems like we have more and more now. We need better treatment and resources for mental health patients. Good night. Have a good day at work tomorrow.
WildT, I am an over thinker too, but how come I can't get up that early. Actually, I like to wake up before sunrise. Somehow, my body does not cooperate
Are you in a sleeping center with DS?
-
Yes, I'm in the room with my son. I'm sitting in my bed right now, reading & drinking tea. They do have a room with a recliner if I need to go there. The bed I'm on is so hard my body hurts after a couple hours sleep.
-
-
Opppps....should I be whispering? Don't want to wake WildT's DS.........
-
Ooh that's a up-to no goodscary looking smile.
-
WildT, hope you don't have to work tomorrow.
-
Me??? 👼 You and Sensi are the ones who were wanting to cause mischief.....
-
Ha! Sensi is probably in her first stage of sleep. Shhhhh she has to work early tomorrow. Me...I need a shower before I hit the sack. Sleeping in my daughter's room tonight cuz DH is watching TV in our retreat. Too much excitement for me to fall asleep in my room.
-
I need to go to bed too.....going for CTs of Head, C Spine, Thoracic and Lumbar Spine tomorrow. Thankfully is at an imaging center near home.
WildT ~ Are you staying all night at the sleep center? I also hope you don't have to go into work. Were you able to have at least one PJ day this weekend?
-
Will jump in your pocket for tomorrow. Good nite
-
Loverly ~ 😊
WildGrrrl ~ Hope all goes well with the study and that you can find a comfy spot n' get some rest.
-
WildT - Ouch!! Good luck with sleep and the study.
Lover - what a gorgeous photo of your niece on the beach.

Morning gals.... I know SOME of you rabble-rousers.... are just maybe turning in.... Hah! I'll try and not wake you up.....
I know what you mean about the homeless...Here in Denver, with our COLD Winter weather, our law-enforcement are always out trying to round up these people and take them to shelters. And SOME will go, but others refuse to go stay over-night "with all those crazy people."..... Especially down-town, around the 16th street Mall, and along Cherry-Creek.... They don't trust other people, and choose to stay among their friends..... and most of them have been homeless for years....
It's always in the paper... and how there ARE resources to help anyone who will accept it. I used to see stories in the paper when I was younger, and I would go buy groceries for these people, and their pets, and drop them off at the Tavern, or church that was raising money for them....
In Florida, there are a lot, same as in California.... but a lot of these folks choose that life-style, over accepting this help that is offered them.... and the weather there, helps them stay just where they want to! There are shelters, and food is offered, for any who want it...and they are converting old abandoned buildings into Homeless apartments for this problem.
When some are interviewed, they explain why they just want to live their own life, without any ties, or interference from the City. Downtown, the store owners try and shag them off, because they cause a lot of problems begging, and using the alleys as their bathrooms....But it breaks my heart seeing them sitting along the off ramps on the highways, with their little DOG! I'd like to smack them and take that dog home with me!
I just hate to see them begging, with their card-board signs on the street corners, smoking a cigarette.... and even holding their cell-phones! Smoking is EXPENSIVE! I remember before I quit, in 1959, they were about 35 cents a pack.... And I would look in pockets and cushions to try and find enough money to go buy a pack! And I finally only QUIT, because it was killing me.... Hurt my chest whenever I would inhale, so I had to give up those Menthol cigs, and I'm sure it saved my life.
So okay.... you guys behave.... Yes, little Loverly, babygirl is BEAuTiFuL!
-
Loverly- that baby is so beautiful!
My sister lives in southern Cali and was driving back from her second home in Palm Springs yesterday trying to get some things done between the storms. She said she hit some unbelievable rain in Riverside and had to slowly drive home to get their safely. Too much rain at once. We are getting your storms too and tons of rain and snow, and have seen some torrential rains here, but not like you have. It must be scary to be in storms all the time that feel like hurricanes.
And hugs to those in the south and with the terrible storms there.
-
Nah, I am taking a little time off from school right now
