Hi Ladies, I'm still here! Wanted to pop in to say Hi!
Kathy, congrats on getting off the AI!! Are you feeling any different? Less muscle aches?
Tammy, love that quote. I can relate!! I have been having a tough time again with my PMR, I was doing so good. I was down to 7mg and my face was not as round & even lost a few pounds. But the shingles and continued tooth problems (pain since 11/15; 2 root canals, 2 fillings replaced and even a visit to an oral surgeon & many weeks of antibiotics) have aggravated it and I am back up to 11mg.....not giving up though....My choice of foods have been good (except for Tiramaisu on Mother's Day) So I will keep trying and I hope to update you with my progress.
Smile ladies, keep the positive attitude and keep drinking lots of water and green tea!!
-
Awww, sweet Tenaj, even with all that you have had on your plate, you still have such a positive and upbeat attitude! You never give up! Prayers for continued healing!!
-
Thanks Kathy! I am done with this plate and looking to smaller portions!
Have a wonderful day! xo
-
Tenaj, you are too funny! You never give up!

Hello out there!
I have some sad news...one of my paddling friends passed away last week. She was diagnosed with mets in February this year and was given 3 to 5 years but it was much more aggressive than predicted....and her daughter-in-law had passed away from BC just 3 weeks before. I can't imagine how her son felt having lost both his wife and mother.
I hope you all are well and making the most if every day....(((hugs)))
-
So sorry you have lost your friend and so terrible that her son has lost two women he loved. xxx
-
Dear Tammy, I am so sorry to hear this! Many prayers for their family and you! So sad!
-
Thank you...we are having a special paddling ceremony for her next week as a mark of our love and respect for a lovely lady
-
Tammy I am so sorry to hear of your loss, prayers to you and her family. (((hugs)))
-
Hello out there! I've been doing lots of paddling, regularly twice a week which has been wonderful.
The passing of one of our team has brought us all much closer together.....we are turning up for training and seem just that little bit more caring.....we need our friends when these things happen and I thank you for your support too.
So, how is everyone???
-
HI, Tammy, so glad to hear that you are paddling a lot!! Bonding with others is so healing!! We are each other's sources of strength!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
-
Thanks Kathy!
I attended a course on writing your family history today. It was great. I want to write my mother's memoir before there is no one to remember it. She was a special woman and I want the family to know about it.
I hope everyone is well!

Hello everyone,
This is my first time posting here. At one time I had taken classes in zumba and yesterday I started to watch the Youtube. I did only 15 minutes yesterday and today 20 minutes and have tried to cut back on fats and eating a little bit more healthier. I'm using Nutribullet to blend vegetables and fruit sometimes for breakfast and other times for dinner, and I do eat Morningstar vegan chicken, beef and bacon. For lunch I've been only eating yogurt and some fruit. I still eat some meat and I do love cheese but I'm trying to cut back on that also. Anyway, I've been reading some of the posting and hope to continue following and learning what I can do to eat healthier after gaining weight with the medication that I'm taking.
Thank you.
Tammy, I also want to say I'm sorry for your loss.
-
Hello Arcats Welcome. It sounds like your on the right track. After my treatment I had put on some weight which was so depressing like we dont have enough crap going on. Since then though Ive been eating sensibly and enjoying some treats too. I enjoy going to the gym nothing too strenuous some light weights little bit of treadmill and then some stretching to finish. All that has helped. Take care.
-
ARCats, thank you for your thoughts for me and welcome to our little group. I like Zumba too and have even tried belly dancing, just have fun moving is my motto!
I don't have a NutriBullet but I'm thinking about it. Do you have any favourite combinations?
Janet, congrats on your anniversary! Woo hoo!
-
Cinque,
I know what you mean gaining weight is no fun; it's so hard to lose it and I'm trying to take care of the only body I have. I remember going to the gym years ago and it was so much fun. Keep working at it, definitely do the things you enjoy because it's a long stretch.
Keep pumping!
Tammy M43,
I did belly dancing at one time and oh my! I even had a belly scarf. I was thinking of trying my luck and checking Youtube to see what they have for videos on belly dancing. It's so much fun and the bells are fun to hear when you are TRYING to do the moves.
I don't have any favorite concocksions but I remember that again in Youtube you probably find something, which is what I plan on doing. At one time a friend of mine had a book with a lot of combinations from NutriBullet and I thought of purchasing, but never did. I've been using kale, watercress, pineapple, apples, raspberries, blueberries, ginger, tumeric, sometimes a banana and always yogurt. Because of Tamoxifen I'm going to look into what else I can add to help with the SE.
Take care,
-
ARCats, great ingredients! I'm not a kale fan but I do love yoghurt!
-
Welcome ARCATS! I would love to try belly dancing!! I am sure you are in great shape!! I just made a shake this morning! Your shake sounds delicious!!
Hi, Tenaj, Congrats on your 5 year anniversary and prayers for many more!!
We just came back from Cancun!! Our friends won a timeshare!! Did a lot of walking and exercise in the pool!! Ate too much, but fortunately did not gain!!
Hi, Tammy!
-
Tammy M43,
I'm enjoying Cabot Greek yogurt (Vanilla Bean) it's really thick and tasty. That plus the other fruit I use can help cover up the kale taste. I also decided on watercress because I read it's like the powerhouse of nutrition in greens that I use to eat when I was much younger when my mother gave it to us.
Kindergarte,
Belly dancing is so much fun plus a very feminine dance. So go into youtube and kick off your shoes and just enjoy. The results are great for the mid section which God help me is one of my many trouble spots.
Take care,
-
Thank you, ARCATS, I will check the YouTube out!!! My belly really needs help, he, he!!!
-
Hello out there! I've decided to reinvigorate my training and loss a couple of pounds before my next dragon boat race. That's why I'm back here to get some inspiration
I hope everyone is healthy and well!
-
Hi, Tammy, You Go Girl!!! I am sure that you are in in great shape!! I was eating pretty well until this weekend! I took a long walk to burn off some calories!! Hope everyone is doing well!
-
Hi everyone!
When I first posted here I had started to tuned into Youtube with zumba, bellydance and was trying my feet at kick boxing (pun intended). I have also continued to eat better but recently I've been having issues with my legs and feet swelling so I've tapered back a little until I see my doctor. I purchased a scale to keep track of my progress and will continue to do what I can, but at a slower pace.
Tammie, and anyone that is looking for somewhere to work out. I work in a nonprofit agency that offers everything from Ti Chi to zumba to regular aerobics. There are church groups and other organizations that offer different types of classes that are sometimes smaller. If you are looking to join a mature group, maybe that's something to think about if you don't want to exercise alone.
Good luck an keep moving.
-
ARCats, I am definitely into group workouts for motivation! That's why my dragon boat racing works so well 😉
I hope the your swelling issue resolves! I agree that we just need to keep moving!
Kathy, I hope you're enjoying the walking! It's a great exercise!
-
ARCats, prayers for your swelling issues! My lower right leg swells in the heat! I am supposed to wear my prescription stocking!! I am bad about wearing it when itgets warm!
-
Thank you ladies for your well wishes. My next step is getting those crazy tight socks. Well I guess with my hot flashes what is a little more heat on my legs. Mercy
