Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. I made 5,000 steps today. Speed wasn't as much as I hoped. But, I made it !

Having a great week! Three of four doctor's appointments completed with last one tomorrow. Plastic surgeon says we are on track. Results are looking better than I imagined. He's talking two more fills and I think I'm already as big as I was while breastfeeding. Breast surgeon gave me great news of lymph nodes being clear. My depression has stayed away through this very difficult summer. Tomorrow is my appointment with medical oncologist for my "Where do we go from here?" information.

On the fitness side, I went for a three mile walk today and yesterday. I've been increasing my distance a little every couple of walks. There's a new bike/hike path being built near us, and my goal is to extend my walk with that path.

Keep up the good work, ladies!

Great news minmom24. Whereto from here.....I have to admit Ive struggled in this department. The diagnosis and treatment is an awful lot to digest....I have many good days and more and more goid days as time passes. Be kind to yourself and give yourself time.

Well done on the walking its so therapeutic. Ive been going for walk during my lunch break its lovely.

Another 5000 yesterday. Will head out in a half hour for another walk. Thanks for the encouragement Cinque. I may get rather repetitive on this group. But, being accountable to "my breast cancer board" and keeping my goals small seems to keep me on track. Best wishes to everyone

The medical oncologist says that I am cured! Follow-up in three months with her NP. Why do I feel like I need a good cry? She didn't really go over what to expect as far as surveillance except the three month follow-up and every six months after that.

Minmom, great news! You've been through a lot and a good cry can be wonderful release of emotions. I remember the day after my surgery I cried on and off all day.....but I felt better for it!

I'm focused on my dragon boat paddling at the moment and have even joined the gym at work for some extra muscle building 😀

5000 more steps thats really great post as many times as you like we are all here to support each other.

Minmom I am still an emotional mess...breast cancer and its treatment is a lot to deal with. In between crying days I have lots of good days. It will get better but Im not sure it ever goes away, hopefully it does I might not be there yet. I have my six month follow up results to get tomorrow hoping there is no rain on my recovery parade.

Happy to report my healthy eating is going very well and I can already see some results...my clothes sit nicer☺☺

    Keep living healthy.

    Hello everyone,

Welcome to the new people JFV and Mary. Walking is great and anything that you stick to will eventually show results.

I personally have fallen off the wagon a couple of times in the past but I've been working at staying with my plan of writing down what I eat and some exercise. I told myself that I have to serve myself smaller portions which is my next plan using a certain plate and figuring out what to do when I get the munchies. UGH!

Cinque great news on your check up! Tammy a gym is always a good place to go.

Good luck everyone. You can do it!!!!

    Cinque, yay!

ARCats, I agree with writing things down. It works with Weight Watchers tracking and tracking exercise. Portions are important and I'd love to hear how that certain plate works😉

Gym this morning, lovely walk in the sunshine at lunch and another good eating day....it's getting easier.

Writing what you eat makes you very accountable. Portion size is also critical. I try and be good during the week and allow myself treats on the weekend without going silly. It works for me☺☺☺

Cinque, That is such wonderful news! Yearly checkups means you have done well! Yes, fill your calendar with fun stuff!

Tammy, thanks, trying to stay on track! How are doing

ARCats, writing down what you eat is very helpful ! And definitely smaller portions!

Grandkids are staying with us this week, so eating a little too much, but they keep us running, swimming and walking up and down the stairs!! Will weigh in when they leave, but do not want them to leave!!

Hi Ladies ! Thanks for the encouragement. I was keeping up my walking streak until yesterday. I had a mild mild asthma attack. This morning I can tell I am developing a sinus infection. I recently found out I have an immune disorder. It may be genetic or it may be a side effect from BC treatment. Until I get it under control I am frequently hit with mild infections. I can still function but have trouble doing more than the basics. I need to convince myself that I can still walk those 5,000 steps. Hmmm

Hi JFC....now that asthma is annoying....I think you should see a doctor and make sure its ok to walk...and you should definately take your asthma medication on your walk. My mum had mild asthma and she takes her medication with her. Hers plays up when she gets colds and infections too you know your body dont push to hard.....but dont give despair or give up. Doctor for some medical advice about ehst exercise will be safe for you please☺

Hi Ladies! Congratulations on the good MD reports, walking, returning back to the gym....sorry to hear about your asthma JVC, such a bad time for allergies on LI.

The good news for me is that I have lost 7lbs in about a month and I still am eating foods I like, even have a few drinksKeeping track and being accountable for everything consumed seems to be working for me so far. Exercise still has been tough because of my PMR. I got a RX for physical therapy because of all the muscle weakness it has caused. Now I have to make that appointment & try to get there between working..... I will continue my daily walks, sometimes 2, even though they are fairly short.(My dog is loving it!!)

Have a wonderful weekend and stay positive and active.....this journey is not easy but it is doable!!!Especially with the support of such wonderful ladies!

Thanks for the concern about my asthma. It cleared up well with medication. Cinque for some reason it never occurred to me to bring me inhaler on a walk. Thanks for the practical advice.

Happy Friday Ladies!! Hope everone is doing well. I am down 10lbs!!! I am very excited to finally see some progress here. I discovered this week that I can't tolerate the premier protein drink that I loved and was working so well, It has sucrose in it and I was reminded by a low inflamation diet I was given by my rheumatologist (I was cleaning & organizing and it resurfaced) Foods to avoid: one of the many things is artificial sweeteners & preservatives. So I guess that would explain why I had another replaspse of my PMR. Looks like I won't be drinking them. Now to come up with lunch while I am working. I did find some 3 point thin sandwhich bread and have been having that with rotissere chicken for a light lunch with some fruit, I will need to come up with some other ideas. Any suggestions?? My deal with lunch while I am working is that I am a visiting nurse and travel all day to patients homes. I never stop for lunch, usually drink eat it on the road between patients.

Congratulations tenaj you're doing well. Food on the run ideas google salads in a jar for some ideas. With some prep the night before you can have something deliscious and healthy every day. Soup and some wholegrain bread is good too. I love eggs and dont mind cold omelettes...not for everyone I admit. Pad it up with some fruits and a few almonds for protein you should be all good.

    JFV how are you doing?

Thanks for the support & ideas. Very helpful. I also have reached the stage where I am not craving sugars, very helpful with all the Halloween sightings lately! LOL..My lesson from last year is that I am not buying any candy until days before, I don't want it in the house calling me!

    Enjoy the weekend!
