ARCats, good luck with the compression!

Hello out there!!!! Is everyone well and having fun!!!!
-
HI,my name is Bippy and I am way way up in weight, post 2 yrs dx.
Tried the gym... nope. Hate it--hate the crowd, the co-ed thing, the drive, etc. Also, cannot do most choreography due to balance and bad knee. that just leaves machines...boring!
Now doing at home dvds. Love those classic Firm ones. The gruesome twosome of Tamoxifen and Lexapro are brutal on weight gain. But....so is my inactivity!
Crapola, have my maintenance appt with onco this am so she can bitch about my weight....
-
Hello everyone,
Not exercising as much as I would like with you tube. Do belly dance and weights for now and recently the most exercise I'm been getting is moving from my nieces home to a rental garage which has been converted to a 2 bedroom apartment. It sits on this beautiful property with large oak trees and reminds me of the 5 acres I once lived on so many moons ago. Anyway, will be seeing my Dr. by the end of August for the swelling and checkup. Hope everyone is o k and enjoying your summer.
Hi Bippy and welcome. I did at one time workout in a gym but now I'm more a you tube person. You are correct some of the classic dvds are really good, and at least you're trying. I am on Tamoxifen but the weight gain, hot flashes and muscle spasms were to much for me. I just started taking them less and less until now it's 3 x a week. I justify it by telling myself well at least I'm taking them and haven't totally stopped. I just couldn't continue everyday, it was just to much for me. Sorry about your appt. with onco, I guess they feel they have to tell you something. Don't give up on the dvd's, you never know, you may find something that you'll really like and that will inspire you. Take care and good luck.

Hi Girls and welcome Bibby
Ive fallen off the wagon with my exercise and I use to love it so much. Anyway on Sunday after another wasted day of laying in bed I decided enough....Ive started walking again with another lady and I already feel mentally better. I also cleaned up my diet.....you cant exercise away bad eating habits.....the odds are stacked against us in the weight fight however with good diet and some sort of regular exercise you can help yourself...come on Bibby dig deep I know you can do it☺☺
-
Welcome, Bippy!! You will enjoy this thread, no judgement here, just encouragement! The home DVDs are great, have fun!!
Cinque, so good to see you!! I have fallen off, too! I am encouraged by you, keep going ! Thanks, to you all!!
-
Well, it seems we've all fallen off the wagon....but we're fighting girls and we'll be back for another day!
I'm walking and paddling and toying with more....remember, something is better than nothing!
Bippy, tell that Onco you're trying and that you have a great support team 😉
I'm concentrating on moving, diet will follow, I find that doing healthy exercise makes me want healthier food....I hope that works for you too!
Kathy, you're my inspiration....you are always so positive....well done to you

I have been walking, too!! onward and forward!!!
-
Hi Janet
Lovely of you to check in. Im back into a nice routine that includes gym in the morning and a lunchtime or evening walk...weather permitting. Im feeling so much better the exercise is good for mind too. My hair is coming in lovely my skin is much nicer I got a manicure....I feel human again and as you all know there are times when you truly despair. Anyway looking forward to some sun and a lovely tan...cancer robbed me of a summer last year...I intend to make up for it this year. I commend you on your good eating keep it up.
-
Cinque!!! So happy to hear that you are feeling so good!! Exercise is definitely a mood enhancer!! You are doing great!!! I did have a bad night last evening with eating! Our Church ladies circle had their annual potluck!!! But I am hoping it did not do too much damage!! Back on track today!!
-
I wish everyone a wonderful weekend!! My family doctor has put me on the lowest dose of Metformin for my increasing A1C results! I was not very happy at first, but research has shown that it is also a deterrent for the recurrence of cancer! It has also decreased my appetite, so I have lost 2 pounds!! Between finishing my Aromisin regimine of 11 years, and taking Metformin, I am hoping the weight stays off
-
Cinque, good news that you are getting back into your routine!
Kathy, it sounds like the Metformin could be good for you and to finish 11 years on Aromisin is a great achievement! Sounds like the start of something good!
I'm well but static on the weight front. I've been exercising a little more but eating to compensate😱
Take care!
-
HELLO MY FRIENDS & NEW FRIENDS!
I am back!! As usual the S#it show continues...but not gonna talk about that. Kathy, congrats on finishing the aromison. Perhaps the metformin will change your metabolsm to help you a bit. Are you monitoring your sugars? Just be careful you don't go too low...(always a nurse-lol) Tammy, how's paddling going?
Welcome new friends
Yesterday I started weight watchers!!! First time ever but decided to give it a try. A friend has lost 60lbs -such an inspiration!! and has 2 more to go so I am a motivation for her. Lots to learn on the points, but used my fitness pal so I am aware of the calorie counting, just not points. Day 2...I'll keep you posted.BTW, I discovered a protein supplement called Premeir Protein (sold big box stores and pharmacy) 30 gms of proteina and 160 calories, very tastey. I pack it for lunch. I was telling patients about it for healing purposes and such and then decided to try it my self!!! I would recommend, especially for when your on the road!!
-
HI!
tenaj, thank you for the info on the Premeir Protein it looks like a good one.
Good luck everyone.
-
Hi, Tenaj, so good to see you! Thank you, for the advice on Metformin!! It has definitely reduced my appetite!! I love the Weight Watcher's program!! Hey, so funny, I drink a premier protein shake every morning. It is so tasty and fills me up!!!
-
Janet, great news about WW, it's a great program....good luck!
I've actually been training hard at paddling and really started to improve. Losing some weight would also help my performance!
ARCats, how are you?
-
Tammy,
I'm doing great. loss some pounds with just cutting out some of the bad stuff. Started to exercise again not as much as I would like, but little by little. This is a long haul and a lifestyle change that I plan on continuing. Continue paddling.
Janet WW is a good one, it helps you become more conscience of what you eat and a lot of times that is one of the biggest obstacles. Good Luck
-
ARCats, how wonderful for your weight loss!! Everyone here is doing great !! You are all My inspiration!
-
Hi everyone! ARCats you are right, it is a lifestyle change. I am more conscience of what I am eating and making sure it is worth the points. My renewed discovery ( I confess I have learned this before) is that I pick while I cook. Like those calories somehow don't count! LOL...But I continue to learn and move forward. I had I great week last week until Sunday when I had some things I shouldn't have. ( My daughter was home visiing and I made some sangria with fresh nectarines, strawberries I got from the farm) The result was that on my weigh in yesterday I gained the 2lbs I had lost all week. Back on track yest and upped my green tea (natural diuretic) and lost 1.5 lbs last night. Hopfeully that was some temporary water weight.....Back on track!
Good luck ladies, remember to enjoy every day!! Keep paddling, walking, smiling and loving!!!
-
mmm sangria...
-
Hi, Janet, the sangria sounds delicious! It is OK to have a treat like that every so often!
I am continuing on a low carb and no sugar diet! I have lost about 3 lbs this week!! We walked some hills today with our grandchildren! In order to keep up with them, I need to keep doing this lifestyle change!! Yikes, now I know why we have children when we are young!! 😃😃
-
Kindergarten congrat on the weight loss!! That is awesome. Lucky for you to have your grandchildren around you, a true blessing !!
