    Good day all!

I coloured my hair yesterday...this is the result. I had expected blonde or light brown - not red. But it's growing on me. Beats grey, anyway! I have attached my selfie from a week ago for comparison's sake.

Why are we worried about Addie? (She asked know ing it was none of her business but couldn't help herself due to overactive mothering instinct)

While I still haven't had an uninterrupted night, I've been able to get back to sleep easily the last two nights and I feel so much better at the beginning of my day!

that sleep issue really causes havoc. Hope it resolves nicely, ksusan.

Andrea...that color is beautiful on you!! I just love it. Now wear something really stylish and send us a selfie.

I am going for a makeover with friends of friends next weekend. Haircut, makeup, and help in figuring how to dress. I am ready for full time work and want to return with attitude, lol. I am also deeply happy somehow...like a little seed somewhere saying that after all this crap,my deserve super happiness. I wish the same for you

Addie's been having a lot of pain. She's going to ask for a scan this week at her appointment.

Andrea, I really like the hair color! I need to do something with mine. Just have not gotten to it yet. I have never colored my hair; worried I'll turn it purple or something!

    Renee, I love the look!

Positive, the idea of a makeover sounds so wonderful!!!!!

Positive: way to go on pulling it all together. What type of work are you going for, if I may be so nosey?

Kbeee: I would love to use hair color as I'm seeing lots of gray and already feel and look like I've aged 20years! Ugghh I have never really colored my hair either except one time I tried a dark red in my late 20s. It didn't do much for me and my scalp was super itchy and sensitive to the hair color chemicals. I tend to have very sensitive skin. And now I'm super worried about any chemicals in makeup, skin care, etc that interrupt hormones or could make the Tamoxifen less effective. Would love to find a cute hairstyle as it grows that doesn't age me. Time will tell.

Anyone else heard about the hair color chemicals and if they are safe?

We made the weather-delayed New Year's meal for friends tonight: Lentils with ham, collards with garlic and vinegar, Japanese sweet potatoes, corn muffins, and cherry tomatoes. We also supplied the appetizer of pate and chevre; they provided cabernet sauvignon and pastries.

    ksusan, that sounds so good!!!

renee, I am also concerned and want to keep things like dyes safe. It's so hard to know what to trust. Any website can rate things and say what's safe, but how do you know which are verified by science and are not funded privately by someone looking to make a profit off of the products they recommend...... frustrating!

the ewg site for skin and personal care products is s non profit. They rate products but don't recommend. I learn a lot just by browsing. I think their only ax to grind is the lack of oversight in re dangerous substances by the FDA and other responsible parties.

Renee... I am going back to my faculty position at a megasize state university. But I am looking for some other job and at this moment I think go go dancing sounds pretty fine!!! I think I'm almost half serious. I want to live fully, to write endlessly, to exercise and eat healthy, to reduce stress. I know this is crazy but I started a hip hop class, and Zumba, and spin, and swim w the kids on Saturday. My sleep is much, much better as a result and the kids hit the sack early as well. I have been reading romance novels .... All while taking that damn tamoxifen, lexapro, and thyroid hormone replacement.

Let us know how addie is doing. One of us is going to win powerball!!!!! It's in the tea leaves

positive that sounds like a great way to start the new year and consider a career change. Good for you!!!

KSusan that delayed meal I bet was delish!

I have found a lot of good info from the ewg.org website and am checking my skin care, hair care and cosmetics on this site. I just can't believe how many, many contain carcinogens and hormone disrupters. Things I thought were very gentle for my sensitive skin, NOT. And since it is all cumulative I was probably piling on multiple products going directly from my skin into the bloodstream. Just scares me. And it pisses me off the FDA doesn't stop these ingredients from going into what we are using. Sorry for the soap box.

The cold here this morning just brutal. Actual temp -3. If it's cold by you hope you are staying safe and warm. Those of you in the warm sun send it north haha

Jen, just remember to write your name in Sharpie on the backs so if they become lost or mislaid they can be returned!

When I got mine, which I did simply because insurance covered them and I had an hour at the hospital to fill between appointments, we had to work hard to find a model that would withstand cat claws. The fitter was also careful to remind me that dogs love to use them as chew toys. Interesting visual there. Anyway, mine remain in my sock drawer. I'm glad yours will be having an adventure.

Sloth, I got mine for the same reason- insurance was about to roll over. I seriously doubt I will ever wear them. I never thought about cat claws or chew toys, but since my dog likes to race around the house with my undies, I'm sure shed looooove some boobs to play with!

Although as part of a costume I could probably bring myself to use them... So I will be sure to put my name on them!
