    Positive you look awesome!

Littleblue the buff story gave me laughs! You are such a creative thinker! I wouldn't even attempt that!

    Andrea have fun in Vegas!

Lynne we will be having mamm same day! Definitely mention the hiccups for your own peace of mind. Hope your travels go well and no bad weather.

Steph glad you are getting all checked. And I hope can relax between checks. The Mohawk rocks!

My hair doing the same and I'm playing with headbands, gel or whatever to keep under control.

I hope I'm not ignoring anyone. I was going to comment and I'm trying to still catch-up on reading. Life is busy so that is good.

Renee....beautiful! Is that your hair color...as in original color?

Yep that color, well lack of color, is all mine. The grays are really coming. And the darn wrinkles! Honestly, I don't recognize myself in the mirror but I'm reaching acceptance. LOL

Well back to studying for me. I'm determined to take the CMA exam this spring. My goal is to get back to being a medical assistant this year. My second career calling in life at age 40. Before that I spent 20+ years in sales and marketing. I'm finding since I started and trained as an MA 10yrs ago the certification exam is now a must. And I'm hoping to get into an oncology dept as an MA. I'm also feeling my age, 50, is becoming a factor along with the fact that I've had cancer. But then again maybe I'm being too sensitive. I would really like to find the right coworker group where I feel like I belong and have a purpose with patient care again. Being put in the complaint dept (ooops I meant billing dept) I'm finding is not my thing.

Anyone being treated differently since getting back to work? Finding it harder to relate to some of the old coworker drama?

Renee, your hair looks so good! And your eyebrows??? How do you get them so perfect? It's so awesome that you want to work in oncology...I'd love to volunteer at my treatment center, but it makes me nauseous to even walk in there. You are an inspiration! I don't really deal with any coworker drama, but I do find people treat me differently. It's almost like they feel proprietary toward me. I get patted, petted, hugged and generally messed with a lot more now. People I've never talked to befor this tend to interact with me more. It's weird. I hope you can find a job and Co workers that you really love and connect with! You are such a soothing presence here!

love the hair, Renee! The color is very pretty. AnD yes, coworker drama...sigh. Today was a day of stupid people...I mean stupid, stupid people. So I just looked at them, reported to my good friend that I met stupid people and moved right on!

But wish you luck on your exam and I think it's wonderful that you want to be in oncology. 50yrs young, Renee.

So, I have this string like thing radiating down from my scar to my belly. Like scar tissue, painful, and lumpy. Just saw my oncologist last week but the thing wasn't there then. I am not worried about it because I think it's related to scar tissue. Will see my breast surgeon in early Feb, so will wait to have it checked. Rest assured that I will whine about it until February.

Positive, I think it's so frustrating that things like that pop up right after you have an appointment. I had a weird rash (pettechiae) for 3 weeks which disappeared completely 4 days before my MO appointment. They reappeared 2 days after my appointment. Sigh. I hope your BS will have an answer for you.

If anyone on here is not in our Facebook group but is on Facebook, PM me your name on Facebook so I can get you added. It's a private group, so it's a nice place to share things without all the world to see.

Renee, Good luck on your exam; you'd be fabulous with oncology patients!

Thanks, gals! It is national hug day...consider yourself each hugged!!!

Positive: I think I'm feeling scar tissue in more and more places too. Some days it is a hard tightness and other times I think I feel lumps. And I think how in the world am I ever gonna' know for sure what the heck is scar tissue and what I should be getting checked?! Errgghh sigh but at least I see breast surgeon in Feb.

Kbeee I get weird itchy spots and occassional rashes too. They usually are on my wrists arms or back and last a couple days and disappear. I'm figuring it is my eczema flaring up due to the dry, dry air. Moisturizer seems to help. Also wondering if is tied to glutten. Even though I didn't test positive. But I've heard gluten can cause itchy rashes. So for now I'm taking notes and keeping a diet log in fitness pal phone app.

Looking good, positive spirit and Renee!!!

It's great that you want to work in oncology, Renee! You would be awesome at it. I'm not going back to work till June...I'm an ICU nurse. I will do my graduated return and reorientation, but then I may look for something different where I don't have to work the 12 hour shifts. I don't think it's good for my body, changing from day shifts to nights etc. I have had three cancers, my body is trying to tell me something. I was contemplating oncology myself...the nurses who work there were trying to recruit me! I do love ICU nursing though, it would be hard to give that up. And my coworkers are awesome! Such a dilemma.

Steph, good luck to you too, you are right...cancer does allow you to stop and enjoy life (once the icky treatments are done anyway!) - and it allows you to see your life objectively. You are able to evaluate what is important, where you are headed and what you want for the rest of your life. I am really loving my time at home...taking piano lessons, babysitting my granddaughter, lunches with my daughter...and spending more time with my husband.

Okay, enough mushiness. Geez, what is wrong with me? I used to be cranky. 😜

I have to admit working just 32-34 hours and taking the full day off Thurs has been nice! It allows me a day for Dr. appts, yoga, visits with my elderly parents.

I think all of us have a new vision of what we need for a sense of accomplishment in our work and yet peace and serenity to heal ourselves too. Here's to exploring!

Hi all! Glad to read some good news from you Steph. If I had any plans to wash/brush my hair today, I would post a picture of my similar fauxhawk...it just seems to look better than my other style (10 y.o. boy with bed head). Lol, though, everyone at the gym thinks I am just trying to look punk and tough. Nope, I just got limited options. I am amazed that it has grown out as much as it has in the last month. I'll take fauxhawk over monk any day of the week.

I had an appt with my pcp on Wednesday. I've had increasing pain in my joints (particularly my hands) and am still struggling with several other side effects from treatment. I've read that sometimes auto immune problems can be common after chemotherapy. I really hope that my pcp can do something whatever the problem is.

So, I had bloodwork done yesterday, I go for a pelvic u/s next week (at the same office where I had my mammogram), and am waiting for a colonoscopy referal. OH JOY!!! I'm also still sceduled to travel for more reconstruction in March. Hopefully el nino will warm things back up in Illinois by then....actually, I hope it warms up long before then for all of you living in the blizzard/ice zone.

I am trying not to let my painful joints and other problems slow me down...especially when everyone keeps telling me "how great I look now that 2015 is behind me." Cause all it takes is a turn of the calendar...right. 😉

Positive! You have great style! What do you use to get it to look like that?

Steph, yes. Not even a tiny bit of curl. And it grows straight up. Not even kidding. Your hair looks great in your pic, and you do not look like a Rhodesian ridgeback, although they are beautiful dogs! I get Denis Rodman and Kim Jong Il lol.

    Positive, so cute!

Jen, that's with no products. Shampoo every 3rd day with a tea tree shampoo. Cutting instructions were "Even it up and make it less poofy on the sides."

For straight hair: Towel dry. You can gel it a little if it's uncooperative. Push it into place with your fingers. I usually ruck it up a little so it isn't plastered to my head, but my normal hair is fine and thin. After it's dried awhile, brush with a round brush to keep some loft while making it lie approximately like hair.

WOW! I love the photos you are all so darn cute!!! Isn't it crazy what this hair in between stage is like?!

Littleblue awesome how it is so thick, straight. I'm jealous of that!

Positive gorgeous dark color, is that all yours natural dark? So lucky so shiny!

Ksusan super cool curls! I just have funky wings and finger touseling just makes more funky wings or flat bare spots.

I've only had one cut and she knew just what to do to trim it up evenly and clean up my neck line. I'm using soft, stretchy decorative hairbands and finger combing. Hoping for just a bit more growth fast!

    Hi all -

Steph, that was Martin Short's character Ed Grimley from Saturday Night Live. Awesome. My grandson has a double crown on his head so his hair has a tendency to stick up and it reminds me of that. Or Buckwheat from "Our Gang".

I have been using a little mousse in my hair to get it to lie down in the morning. It is so exciting to have hair long enough to get bed head!

I went to the eye doctor today - eye health wise I am in great shape. But I mentioned the watery eyes business to him...they have always been a bit watery but got much worse with chemo. So I have been referred to an eye surgeon...apparently my tears may not be draining properly...clogged or narrow glands...and that can be fixed with surgery. Hmmmm....we'll see what the eye surgeon has to say.

I ordered new glasses...with progressive lenses! I have had glasses since I was 12 but just use them for distance - driving, watching TV etc. But now my eyes have changed and my close up vision isn't as good as it was, so I need some help there. I am supposed to wear my glasses all the time too.

I am loving all your photos!

    Andrea
