    Ladies - question - since I've been done w/chemo (AC+T) recently if I sit too long, my feet joints HURT when I get up! Knees and hips too but a bit less, anyone else?

    I've upped the fish oil but not noticed it's any better? Once I get going it's ok - Running doesn't seem to make it worse?

    My joints hurt too if I am inactive too long. Running makes my toe joints hurt. I just got some Hoka running shoes since I'm upping my milage. Pain is definitely a constant post chemo, I'm getting...

    Good work Andra! Wondering, do you know if Taco Tom's is still open in Mancos? That was good frybread!

    ThePrincess, I wake up creaky, mostly front of my ankle (if that is such a place), right in the area between the top of the foot and the bottom of the shin. Also knees some. Within a few minutes, it goes away, and doesn't seem to impact my ability to do what I want.

    13.5 mile bike ride, glorious, beautiful day today. Sun shining, temperature perfect, and little wind. I'll take it!

    Ditto. If I've been still for too long, I ache when I get moving again, but most of it goes away pretty quickly. I got a memory foam dog kennel pad*, which I have under the fitted sheet at shoulder-to-torso level. It helps even on a Tempur-Pedic mattress.

    Ksusan lol. I got one of those for the bathroom floor during chemo since I spent so much time sleeping and hurling in there!

    Ran to the gym, lifted, ran back, did MLD. New Hoka running shoes really help the pain in my toe knuckles! Yay!!!

    Thanks ladies - glad to know there's not something wrong - hasn't stopped me from working out, just makes me mad. I never hurt like this before I and I've run many more miles than that!

    Oh well, carry on! Hit the gym this morning for legs and abs and a short short run (sigh have to get to work sometime).

    I was proactive today at the ophthalmologist's--as I sat in the uncomfy chair that doesn't support my feet (and therefore my lower back) waiting for my eyes to dilate, I started to get aching legs. So I got up and shook it out, then stood until my eyes were ready and the doc could start the exam. My eyes are great--no apparent damage from chemo, including no diabetic damage from the steroids, no tamoxifen trouble, and still 20/20 even though blurrier. For the left-over Taxotere dryness, the nurse suggested hot compresses several times a day (i.e., flax or buckwheat packets heated in the microwave) and Systane Balance 4 times a day (rather than Systane long-lasting 2 times a day).

    Ksusan, glad to hear! I've been putting off an eye exam, can't face any more doctors right now

    I have been the fence. I want to squeeze as many doctor visits in before my deductible clock starts ticking again. But I am guessing there are many people trying to do the same and some doctors (including my eye doctor), will be hard to get into at all at this point.

    I need to hit the ophthalmologist. Last year after my 2 foot surgeries & fun with ulcertative proctitus (chronic, controlled w meds) I went for an eye exam. They found a freckle type thing around my optic nerve. I need to get it scanned every year to be sure it's not turning into melanoma. In. my. f'ing. EYE. I don't wanna.

    Littleblueflowers - I have not even heard of Taco Toms! Maybe because whenever I'm in Mancos or driving by on my way to Durango I always go to Absolute Bakery. Now I'm craving one of their breakfast wraps and cinnamon rolls! Mmmm

    Tiday I found out my hemoglobin is 11.8, not too bad - probably why I'm doing ok running and exercising. My white count is abysmal (total count 1.26). Hope I make it to next round without getting sick! Doing my best to keep the germs away :)

    God I forgot about the Absolute! That place was always such a treat. Mmmmmm I think I need to visit friends in Cortez and eat a LOT this spring. Hope your whites rebound!

    I'm doing hard core yard work today. Lots of steps plus hauling plus whatever you call it when you fall off of a ladder and have to get up w only one hand because the other is bleeding - only one of those so far. Full count at the end of the day :(

    Take care of yourself! I'm hanging the tarps that keep our cat enclosure warmer and a little drier in winter, and moving books around, so I have the hateful sleeves on. Question: How long do everyone's sleeves last (wear, falling down, snagging, staining, etc.) before you need new?

    34 mile bike ride, 1209 calories burned. Beautiful day, then shopping in the afternoon, so much fun.

    I have the juzo brand sleeves. I'm on my second set, replaced them after 6 months. Both had snags from cutting blackberries and seemed pretty stretched out. That's with almost daily wear though. I don't wear my gauntlets very often and they still look like new.

    Mine are snagged, stained, and stretched from fall yardwork, cats, travel, car work, and cooking. Apparently I need a letter from my surgeon to my insurance saying I need a new set, even though I have a prescription for 100 refills and was told this summer that I could get a new set every month. I seem to be into the part of cancer care where stuff I've been told I need (like tamoxifen and sleeves) requires constant requests and waste of medical team's time. I mean shit, it's not like there's anything pleasant about prophylactic sleeve use.

    And it's not like the sleeves are so stylish that all our friends are asking us to commit insurance fraud by getting them a set so they can look smoking hot like us.

    My fitter at the hospital just said she would submit my second. order for payment and see what happens. They paid it without a problem.

    Also, I did buy a sleeve on Amazon for about half the price of the prescription one. It fit fine but didn't have the latex beaded band at the top so I don't really use it. I'm thinking of getting two of the lymphadiva brand sleeves but I can never decide on a pattern.

    12 miles today. I really wanted 16-that would have put me half way to where I need to be by January.

    17.5 mile bike ride this morning. Little chilly and windy, but I will take it!

    2700 miles of riding this year, hope I can hit 3,000! Given chemo and everything else, that's a lot of riding for me

    2700 miles biked under extremely difficult circumstances divided by 46 weeks = 58 plus per week.

    6 weeks left times 58 = 348 miles. You should easily make it if you keep doing what you have been doing. No need to push..less time due to daylight savings and holiday prep should be offset by increased energy from holiday joy and good food!

    This is my first time posting on this thread. Y'all inspire me with your activity/exercise! I have finished a couple of rounds of AC and am trying to get back to running. Able to do 4 miles today. I want to run a marathon next year. (I never have - I was supposed to run a half-marathon the week after my surgery and had to postpone). After 2 more rounds of chemo will come radiation. I am hoping to continue to train throughout. My biggest problem is I live in New ENlgand and winter is coming. I hate running indoors

    Day 4 post op prophy mx and oophorectomy, so my exercise is about down to nothing now, except for walking around the house. Can't wait to get this drain out, then will start from square one again. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I want to get back to exercise again as it does make me feel better physically and mentally. Trying not to be impatient though and rush into it doing too much...need to rest and heal now.

    But had to come on here and agree with Katy...Theresa you are an amazing inspiration! Thank you for posting...cuz you really do inspire me to keep going too!
