Rosevalley - Woody isn't quite big enough yet, but I am guessing there will be a line around the block when he goes up for adoption! I have a slew of kitten pics I need to download from the KI page and upload here. :) Pippy is so lovely!

Seven two week old kittens were found crawling along a road, no mum in sight. Some people gathered them up and got them to a rescue organisation. They are doing well, eating and purring like mad. Here's one of them. poor wee things!

Kiwi, He's so tiny! I love to watch their ears wiggle when they taking the bottle well.

Yesterday I was at the shelter for my shift when the people I talked to Monday about 2 cats in foster care came in to do the adoption paperwork. They are picking them up tomorrow from the foster parent. The man told me their last pair of cats was adopted from our shelter 17 years ago. It is such music to hear an adopter say they're looking for a pair of adult cats.

Word of warning here. A pet cat in Washington was found to have rabies. They think it was bitten by a bat probably. A lot of people are now getting rabies shots. It's required to vaccinate cats against rabies, but you know how people are with requirements - such as license, etc. I don't know if the cat was not vaccinated or if it got rabies despite the shot.

yes, he's an over size white miniature poodle. We were at our dog park when I snapped this. Worried out of our minds. His feet still hurt, but he's going to be ok.

kiwi - those teeny, tiny paws! Love the tumbled over ginger and the big yawn in the first pic!

Spookie that was so lucky Kris was found by a kind, concerned citizen.

BTW whoever's knees are in the photo of Kris - that skirt is beautiful - looks like butterfly wings!

The knees and skirt belong to a park newbie. She does NOT shop at Walmart!! LOL. And has no clue how dirty a dog can get there after 2' of rain. Yes, feet. image

Yeah, that's Kris. He had fun!! That's Spookies butt and dirty feet. She didn't follow Kris that night.

LOL@Kris. My friend has a maltese/terrier cross who is adorable and white and fluffy. And who LOVES mud. May have to share your pic of Kris with her so she feels less alone. :)

    Awwww....cute kitty cuddles.

This is a rare kitty - ginger female. She's not really sad despite the sad face.

Free to good home...at 3.5 weeks old. Poor wee baby! Happily, is settling in well with new mom and siblings, despite it's rather grumpy face. :)

kiwi, orange tabbies don't usually come in female? Of the 3 I've had over the years they were male.

    Hi all,

Julie - That kitten was put up for sale at 3.5 weeks old. Way too young to be away from mom. Someone bought him and his sister (sadly, couldn't get the momcat) and brought them to Kitten Inn, where they've settled in with their new mom who has taken them on like her own. She's such a good kitty!

Smarty - calico (or tortie) cats are almost always female and orange tabbies are almost always male. That said, we've had 3 orange tabby momcats at KI this year. None last year!

Here's your daily dose of kitten - 4 weeks old and enjoying free range life in a foster home. There are other pics of the kitten playing and being goofy but this one had just a face - this is how they get what they want. Reminds me of Puss in Boots in Shrek.

We get a few orange females at the shelter, but most are male. Torties are always female because they can have 2 colors per X chromosome. Boys are.XY, so they can only have 2 colors. We had a gorgeous tortie come in last week. The orange spots are large and surrounded by black or white. Usually they're all mixed in together. And her orange was a really deep color. She has a chip, so owner is being traced.
