INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Yay Susan and Quennie, I'm from Detroit. The lake Michigan coast line is about the prettiest in the world. So, glad you gals got to meet. Great pics. Dear Brother was looking to move to Hawaii. Settled on north Michigan coast. He met a guy that moved from Hawaii, that said that coast was more beautiful then anything in Hawaii. Isn't that something.
Bought a coffeemaker----------too many hours comparing, got a Bonavita1900TS. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but great reviews all over the place. CNET best buy and SCAA certified. Almost makes me happy that I messed this one up. Hope the coffee is as good as all the reviews say.
Simplicity, that's why I was glad never to have gotten into the rads talk about skin care. Just observing I didn't think much had been done. Totally sucks. What has happened is to much in medical/nursing circles is non-FDA approved stuff things get promulgated without safety review. Then you have things that are approved and no research supports it's use. Miaderm is FDA approved and might be a fine product. But a fast review pulled out two chemicals that are iffy. YET, it says developed by a radiation oncologist. Take any chemical and subject it too radiation, what does it do to the chemical and it's reaction with the skin? What's it mean in the long term? Check out Jackbirdie's posts on Pinktober Revolution about the program Look Good and Feel Better. It was loaded with products that are cancer producing. She's on a crusade to get it turned around.
I can get ahead of this birthday instead of being behind and having to do a do-over. Spookie's is Nov 14th, please, mark your calendars.
-
Spookie has a birthday coming up? Should we have an on line partay?
-
Susan3, Was that carousel the one that was on Silver Beach in St Joe? I spent many a happy day there while visiting my cousins!
-
Yes, it is a blessing to be able to meet other BCO sisters. Nice pic ladies. Hey Queenie, is Susan as crazy as she presents herself? And Susan, is Queenie humorously sarcastic in person? Love the punk rock hair style.
Ms Spookie, what?!!?!! You are not talking about your lymphedema arm, are you?
Jazzy, oh so nice. Love the changes in color. Thanks for taking the pics for us to see.
Mommy's BD is this month also. If I remember correctly, it's on November 25th.
-
Vietnamese coffee maker only $4.99. No electricity needed. Just add coffee ground and hot water. You ought to get one for back up, Ms. Sas. Haha
-
Yep, mine is on the 25th
-
Well, I've been to Hawaii,, but not to Lake Michigan,, if it is prettier than Hawaii,, I guess I better get up there!
YAY for meet-up!! Awesome to "see" you both.
-
Lover: we tried to be polite. Beyond that, I admit nothing, except that my hair does do exactly that. And I'd gladly have lunch with Susan again.
GypsyJo: the carousel in the background of Susan's pictures is a comparatively recent one (within the last ten years?). But it harks back to an earlier amusement park that was on/at Silver Beach. I'll have to ask my neighbor of mature years when that was--I can't recall right off the top of my head.
Susan: (pretends to be stern) Did you make it safely to your destination?
-
Loverly, not my LE arm, rads burns.
SAS YOU BRAT
-
Yeah, but Glennie, not in the winter!!!
-
Spookie (glennie): yeah, selfies in the winter tend to be rather boring. Whiteouts even at arm's length.
-
Queenie, I'm originally from Cincinnati. Glennie is a Florida girl(I think) who lived up north a few years.
NEVER AGAIN🌴🌴👙🌴🌴.
-
Spookie: I remember you mentioned Cincinnati. The Florida contingent just will PERSIST in being BLEEP annoying, now, won't it?.
-
Spooks: NEVER IN THE WINTER!!!
I am a Miami FL native. Grew up without AC. Lived in NYC for 5 years. Too cold,, came back to FL. Now that I'm post menopause,,, cold might be ok,, but not as cold as some places get. Like ND,,,, brrrrrrr
-
Queenie, sorry, it's in the state laws or property deeds. We have to do it. Hehehehe
-
So we have Spookie on the 14th and Mommy on the 25th for birthdays. Any other children of November out there?
-
wait a minute...queenie bee, I pretend to be stern....hey. I see myself as funny and crazy...who wanted to sport bathing suits on the lake....yeah, your right...that was me...lol
Queenie is really really smart...she knows her history...don't tell her I was trying to pretend to understand . Shhhhhh. We had a ball talking. Do it again anytime. iN BATHiNG SUITS
-
yes your directions were perfect to the expressway. Niles it was...Thanks :
-
Sounds like it's the time for meetups! Beatmon and I are having lunch together Thursday! I'm taking her to my favorite Mexican place, the one I told y'all about. Pictures will follow. (Maria will take some of us!)
-
Smaarty, that's a shame about the tree. I still miss my Scotch pine that died a few years ago. It had the windswept look, like it was on top of a mountain somewhere. Very picturesque.
Susan, looks like you and Queen had a good time!
Jazzy, I never imagined NM having fall foliage. Gorgeous!
We definitely need an online party for Spookie's birthday!
Loverly, I've seen those coffee makers in Japanese video games. They are a staple of escape games, where you have to find all the pieces to the coffee maker, assemble it, heat some water, make some coffee, and then the steam will reveal a number that's the combination to a lock or something like that. Funny to see a real one after seeing so many drawings.
Mags, Mexican food? I'm jealous.
-
Hmmmmm......interesting, Cubbie.
-
Susan, I was right about Queenie! Queenie, don't read what I am going to write next. When someone talks above my IQ level, I usually pretend that I understand and respond by saying "hmmmm....interesting" and hope that they won't ask me for my opinion ( don't worry Cubbie me understood what you said above).
-
Lol y'all are a trip for an early morning read.
I try to stay out of here in the middle of the night or early morning or I'd never sleep.
Hope all are well and enjoy the day! I am so jealous of all the meet ups
But so happy a lot of you are getting to do that. That's just really cool.
-
Serves me right for going to sleep around an "Insomniacs" list!
Susan: bathing suits on the beach it is, then, the next time you come through town. (and I do hope there will be a next time) I promise not to talk about Independence Hall, if you promise to not come next in January. Going down to exit 27 isn't necessarily shorter than getting off at 23. but it's way less confusing.
Spookie: Oh, OK--restrictive HOA covenants are like that.
Jazzy: (shyly) I'm the 12th of November.
-
Queen- thank you for sharing! So we now have three November birthday girls here! Any more?
-
Or a cat.....
-
I'm the 16th
-
yahoo!! November is par-Tay month!
-
Yay I'm not gonna be birthday bombed by myself!! Scorpios Rock!!
Jazz wasn't there a Johnny Mathis song 12 of Nov?
-
it's the Twelvth of never
