So I went to find a photo I KNOW I have somewhere of the last pencil drawing I did, and I discovered that my photo library ended with last October 20, my last chemo day. WHAT!!! I know I'm not real good about syncing my phone and iPad, but that's ridiculous. After much messing around, I discovered that since I started syncing my iPhone with wifi, it doesn't add the photos in my camera roll to the iPhoto library. So I have just downloaded a years worth of photos to my library. I still can't find the one I'm looking for but I will go take a photo of it and see if I can take it without too much glare.

I drew this photo sometime in late 2002 or 2003, after my mom moved into independent living and before her passing. It is of her father as a young man. I think it's one of my better pieces. See next post.

Mags what a nice present! Beautiful backyard fence and a glassed in studio! Wow. I love sketching and find it's very relaxing. Cheap and kind of like hand eye meditation. Nice job.

Simplicity- my one DD likes the Mandala coloring books. They are beautiful and relaxing. I remember being stuck on an airplane and helping her color in one of the designs. Perfect activity and it was fun - flash backs to childhood.

Happy Birthday Patty. Glad you could go shopping. Have you gained any weight yet? Try Ensure... packed full of calories make it into a smoothie with ice and fruit. Be well.

Well good gracious me in my best southern voice. I see how I got so many pages behind. I was already 1/2 page behind when I woke up even if I signed in then which I didn't lol.

Well Chevster dearest this die hard NASCAR fan has most certainly heard of Charlotte and Mooresville NC. I will eventually read those 17 pages and I think almost 600 posts I missed. Welcome Simple (pardon me if Chevy has named you something else, not being derrogatory). I don't know about the increasing tightness. What does your RO have to say about it? I know several on BCO have gone to PT for tightness issues (oh I see you are in PT already). Yup like Zills said Silvadene but is prescription. Just be careful if you get it on other clothing. It does stain. Hmm I think it might stain fingers too but it is marvelous for burns.

And Sassy talked my L ear off lol. Send Di over here please.

My only really bad dog story. DH and I had a wirehaired fox terrier named Boris - yes we named him that, wanted something manly - when we were 1st married. He chewed part of the concrete off the pad for the AC unit. I don't think he chewed the AC stuff itself - good thing huh or Zip/Zap bye bye Boris.

Rosie I can identify with climbing terriers. My rat terrier could climb one of those pet enclosures you see at dog shows. She's too old now to do that but she is still quite a jumper. Would not put it past her to get over our chain link fence if something really got her attention - which is easy to do out here. Ah yes she has pooped on the patio also.

Wren - that is hilarious about Hawaiian restaurant pic. Could do same thing with a really decorated up Mexican joint. The very best over the top Christmas decorations in Ft Worth were at a Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately they went out of business. I cannot remember the food prob. why it went belly up. That or the electric bill HaHa.

Simple - what do you color with? I bought a really nice book at Half Price Books, mostly intricate designs, not so much objects. Too bad I missed back to school sales for crayons/colored pencils. Love the owl. OK dug out my book. Color To Create BDM's Mind Series and there are several natural objects in there (I cannot recall the real "art" term for that) - a goldfish and a couple of owls on quick glance thru. Cover shows colored pencils. Anyone close to HP Books try there. My spending nemesis. Not shoes, purses but books.

Mags - you certainly got the talent that I didn't get. Lovely picture and quite a keepsake. You will have a lovely art studio area. My mom did oil painting and I rather liked the smell.

Posting b4 I mess something up. Pardon the length.

Simplicity get an alo Vera plant cut a piece take the gelatin that comes out and apply that helped me so much .

I bought a small plant and she did very well until one day winter came like it does around here and I completely forgot it out one day and she froze

The natural one is amazing for the rad skin

Spooke it's beautiful to there thou. Took the kids camping one night on Shackleford Banks. An island with wild horses :):) Hardest damn camping trip ever with the biggest reward! Such a gorgeous memory.

Thanks E! I'll try that. Didn't even think about an aloe plant. The tightness is really hitting fast. My PT lady gave me a band to do my exercises at home but then says "don't over do it!" Bleh. I really don't want to lose mobility. What about sexy time if I ever have it again? Can you imagine? Lol

Laughter is very needed and welcomed Susan. I can't imagine. I hope you get all the time you and your family need. Hugs.

Luv, right now I'm just using pencils and these fancy 2 ended marker/brushes a friend gave me. Haven't been looking lately thou. Too stressed, tired, busy, etc etc haha Thank you! I have a few Mandala books as well. I'll upload my favorite tomorrow :)

Thanks Queen! I'll have to look that up.

Luv you're welcome here anytime if you ever pass through for a race, or anything else. I'm not much into racing (you can imagine the looks I get when I give that answer lol). I don't follow but I'll watch or attend a race here and there. I don't have a big place but well fit ya somewhere!

Gotta work night shift tomorrow. Only 12-8, and I've done good all week. I seem to be adjusting back to a normal schedule fairly well but I'm exhausted!! I thought it funny that my PT lady asked if I thought my fatigue was from the rads. Evidently RO's are taking a survey. Hm. Hth am I supposed to know/differentiate what contributes to my fatigue? They don't believe rads causes fatigue :/ I wonder how many RO's have been through this?

Chevy, thanks for joining my update page. Always nice to have people around that understand.

Hope all have a good night! I'm going to try to sleep

simple, try this but ask your RO first. Some docs don't think twice about their patients getting burned. My friend and her DH went thru rads and swears by this stuff. Calendula gel or cream. Also, yes you can get very fatigued from rads. My dad had them for postrate cancer. Me, never had and chose not to go that route. Love your owl.

I bought 3 adult coloring books but haven't got around to trying them yet. All zen doodles, one all cats.

Patty, if you pop in now, you should go back 3 pages to read all your birthday wishes.

Lover and I had a nice lunch. She introduced me to Thai food. We will have to go back. And it rained while we were eating. Most of you know rain isn't a big deal but I'd love to have nice grass like you do Mags. You've heard of California Gold? Well that's brown hills and lawns! It didn't last long and made my car dirty!

Mags, hope you get your enclosed patio. You'll have a sunroom! And how is painting in oil easier? I can't draw to save my soul. Wish I could.

imageBut you do lovely quilts!! Would like to ask your opinion on this. The history is my gma made it from flour/sugar sacks. It is hand quilted. Can I machine wash it? Is there any type of pattern you see? Anything else you could pass on?

One of my co-workers has a degree in counseling, and she just read an article the other day that said that coloring has real relaxation effects.

Simplicity, my nurse practitioner had rads and surgery only for her breast cancer, and she said rads made her tired. Your body is processing a lot, it only makes sense. Don't know why the ROs are so skeptical. Sure it doesn't happen to everybody, but we all recover from other treatments like surgery and chemotherapy differently as well.

Mags, that's a fantastic drawing. A studio sounds like the best Christmas present ever!

smarty, if you machine wash it I would go to laundromat and do a big machine. But prob would dry clean. Pattern I see is 3 across then move 1 over and 3 acros

spookie, I can see a 4-patch plus a solid. Don't know if there's a name for that. I agree with Susan, I wouldn't wash it. With 1/4" seams it would probably fall apart if machine wash. Don't know how safe a dry cleaner would be. Ask what they would recommend.

Wow, nice sketch Mag. Yeah, I wish my grass looks as good as yours.

Simplicity, I almost called you Destiny...brain fart for a few seconds there. Girl, I don't think I could finish coloring the owl before I get a migraine looking at the all patterns going in different directions. Freyfrey did some 3D coloring not too long ago. Talk about Frey, where is she? Had anyone heard from her??

I have heard Calendula Crm helps with radiated skin too. Thank you Ms. Smaarty for the lunch. We need to try different dishes next time. It's always good chatting with you

silva dyne is made for burns. It's a very light feeling mousse that you can apply several times a day. It's not heavy or greasy. I think it made a huge difference. The other stuff I tried didn't work as well. Everyone's different. I don't understand why it's not std treatment. You did get burned. I had to push for it.

I also had fatigue. Had to nap daily but rads was the end of my treatments. Other friends that had lx and rads said she was tired too.

I am still tired but I blame the tamox and now arimidex. I think I got more sleep when I had a new born in the house:)

Frey colored with those 3D crayola books. I'm thinking they would make great Christmas gifts and be light for shipping.

LMG - have you ever heard or drank English afternoon tea?

Morning gals...... Spookie, maybe just soak it in a tub? And squish it with your fingers.... I wouldn't try it in a machine either, unless you fill the washer, I use shampoo..... add the coverlet, agitate it on slow for a minute, then let it set for a couple hours.... then drain the water... let spin for a minute, then fill with rinse water...and just mostly let it soak, but push it around with your hands, then drain, and lift out into a little bucket... then throw it over a clothes-line. If you don't have a clothes-line... go build one.

I have one of my Mom's hand-sewn coverlets, with a "star" pattern.... but in those days they used whatever scraps were left over from all of their sewing... Some of their fabric was so delicate, and flimsy.... and mostly cotton....

    Love the pencil drawing Mags!

    Spookie, thats a beautiful quilt!

    Thanks Zills for clarifying.

Chevy, I use pencils cause it seems easier to fade into another color? Crayons are so waxy...

Must go shower & get ready for the day. That time of the week lmao

Simplicity - I used after rads a lovely calendula cream from California Baby. Very nice scent and very soothing. Still use it on winter dry itch. It's at health food stores but I bought mine at Target in the baby meds. They're making a smaller size jar as it is a bit pricey esp. for something for babies behinds. My RO specified only a RX cream called Xclair and the lovely greasy Aquaphor during rads time. Towards the end I did have to use Domeboro soaks on my nip owee but only for a short time.

    http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=30d6dc33-e457-466b-9159-d8e7cd791820

This is the best meds site ever. Sassy endorsed lol. This is for the Silvadene cream. Note that it is a sulfa derivative. Good so long as you're not allergic to sulfa drugs.

Zills - I don't know for sure if I've had English Afternoon. I confess I am a tea hoarder and really don't know exactly what I have. Haul me away. I just bought Twinings Ultra Spice Chai - oh my OK so long as I take my Zantac. I'll drink it. Also Celestial Seasonings Lime/Watermelon herbal for next summer. I had not seen that one. If it warms up again which it probably will I'll try it. I have a couple of small bags from the English Tea Store (off Amazon) - Buckingham Palace Garden Party and Ginger. Neither strong enough to suit me. But now that I've found my mesh cup tea infuser I can add more loose tea. I need to find some good loose plain black tea.

Odd. The old Assam tea I have is much stronger than the new stuff I bought. I'd have thought the old stuff would have lost some of it's punch. Same brand - Taylors of Harrogate. But the old stuff is just about gone so onto the new lol.

I have been using a lovely local honey called Nature Nate's. In all the big local stores but not in my little hometown grocery. Very good stuff and I'm not a big honey lover. I splurged on one of the larger sizes but it was good to the bottom of the bottle.

Simplicity - I would be lost without my lists. I think at the moment I have 3 going for different things.

Chevster - do you know anyone who quilts? They might direct you to a reputable cleaners. Otherwise the bathtub soak is what I've heard also.

We are such a chatty group So funny!. 2 pages over night

Rosie, it's a travesty that the state government, news, or public hasn't challenged the contracting with the insurance company that doesn't follow state law. (shaking my head). You continually amaze me. Taking in such a troublesome dog so that kids that aren't yours wouldn't be sad. Do they come to visit the dog? Your border collie sounds like a treasure.

Mags, nice visit with the neuro doc. Sounds like a keeper for sure. He listened to you. Love that when docs are good at that. They are the type that gets to the root of problems. Your cake for Patty looks oh so delicious. My fav. The dripping frosting hmmmmm. Please, share your recipe. I notice that you do the walnuts differently--more whole than ground. Your pencil drawing is beautiful. Your Dh is a sweetheart for doing all the things he's doing for your happiness. Nice. LOL on the grass and walking in it. In Florida there's lots of reasons NOT to walk in the grass. I miss the feel of lush soft grass. Wouldn't even think of laying in the grass for a nap. Used to love that in the warm sun.

Loverly, It's hard to believe those flowers are real. What is their name? Haven't read far enough to see if you've updated on Mitsy. Hope it's going well. It's funny that so many of us have experiences with couch eating dogs :) Pics from lunch with Smarrty?

    Zills found you :)

Lilgoats I guess we are both without ears now. :) Boris the concrete eating dog--some teeth and digestive system. My neighbors DD's dog ate a glass plate that had brownies on it. Ate the plate. How stupid can the dog be that chews glass. Extensive surgery. Cost the gal about 2500$.
