Janet, how fantastic that you did that walk!! Good for you!!!!😃😃
Have been walking and climbing stairs every day, lost 2 lbs since last week!!
Thank you ladies for all the inspiration you give me!!
-
I took public transport to work yesterday. My husband wants me to avoid public transport thus avoiding germs. He's lovely but am struggling with being treated like an invalid. Anyway the point of my story is by catching public transport there are flights of stairs to climb and a nice walk to the office carrying my gym bag. We shouldn't underestimate the benefits of what I call incidental exercise. So maybe take the long way somewhere, take the stairs instead of the esculators and Im thinking maybe a little dancing☺☺☺ Keep well and keep moving my friends.

Hey Tenja
The walk and you sound amazing. Yes the ocean is powerful and so is human spirit. You wanted to do that walk and you did. Im really happy for you.

Kindergarten well done on your weight loss. Stairs are so effective because you are activating your legs biggest muscles in your body. Im adding stairs into my routine this week because of you, thanks.
My chemo induced sweet tooth has been indulged this last two days. Back on track now with some yummy soups and lean protein.
Hope everyone has a great day today.
-
Kathy, Great job on the weight loss!! You are an inspiration!! I love your positive attitude.
Maria, you are doing great! That is the right attitude about walking, taking the stairs or long way. It is important to keep your weight down and eat healthy but for you right now it is as important to feed your soul! Keep up the good work!
Tammy, I hate to admit it but you got my taste buds going. I didn't make apple crumble but I did make apple turnovers.....I only had 1/2
-
Today achieved 20 minutes of light weight walk a good two hour walk and I had a little dance on my own in my room and ate healthy....ice cream tonight purely medicinal mouth ulcers...plan to do the same tomorrow.
Keep moving ladies.
Xxx

Hi, Cinque!! You are certainly allowed some ice cream, Enjoy!!! Fortunately, we have stairs in our building where we live and we are on the 3rd floor!! We also walk the strand on the beach and then walk the stairs up to the 2nd level. You are so right about incidental exercise!! I park now the farthest out that I can!!! I then run to my destination, if no one is looking, ha, ha 😉😉
Janet, apple turnovers, yum, yum!!!!
-
Hi, great to read that everyone is doing well!
Cinque, good thinking about the incidental exercise, I track my steps and it is amazing how many I can get with some solid house cleaning or grocery shopping. I'm also a firm believer in dancing. I started belly dancing during my radiation treatment and it was good for the soul as well as body and helped me reconnect with my body.
Kathy, I also have stairs in my building and they do help.
Janet, apple turnovers!! How did you stop at 1/2??? Great willpower 😋
-
Belly dancing...very exotic good for you. I have got to the gym Monday and Tuesday so very happy. We have a gym at work I leave at four and spend half hour there nice to finish the day like that. Then I race to the train station and I will have a stretch tonight. Good for body and soul. Chemo gets you down and my treatment ends hopefully February. Exercise helping me cope.
Keep moving ladies.☺
-
Cinque you are amazing!! Working, exercising, CHEMO!!! and such a great attitude...you are an inspiration!
I did have will power for only half, BUT, I had a half every day for 3 days
I am tolerating the taper of prednisone so far!! YAY!! keeping it slow as to not have a rebound effect again,,,, I was a bit sore from that long walk on the beach but I have bounced back. I worked the weekend and yesterday and looking forward to exercising and taking good care of myself for the rest of the week.
Have a great week Kathy, Tammy & Maria
(((hugs)))
-
Goodmorning ladies.
Nice to hear your managing your prednisone taper. Before I started treatment I spoke to my doctor about work, exercise etc. He said to me that people that try and keep their normal routine cope much better. There are days I cant and I accept those days, my body must need the rest. On waking this morning I felt sadness and then I read your post Tenaj its encouraged me to get up and get into today.
What is amazing are the women that unite to help each other through.
Now girls plan something nice for yourselves today and do it☺ bubblebath, call an old friend, torment your husband
-
Ha, Ha, Cinque, I am tormenting my hubby!! You are amazing with all that you are doing while having Chemo!! You are a Warrior!!
Janet, prayers as you continue to taper off prednisone!! Just enjoy those apple turnovers, you deserve them!!
Tammy! I think of you all as I climb those stairs!! Now if I could stop thinking of food when I get to the top!!😝😝
-
Finished my work week having a lovely lunch and couple of drinks with a friend. So no exercise...made peace with myself taking my 12 year old niece clothes shopping for her birthday tomorrow I can feel a whole lot of steps coming on👣 Take care lovely ladies hope youve planned something physical for the weekend
-
Dear Cinque!! Shopping is lot of exercise, how fun that you are taking your niece on that adventure! I call it "Shop and Sculpt."
Hubby took our walk this morning, and then took our granddaughter to the park!!
My weight stayed the same this week!!!
-
Kathy, shop and sculpt....I like it! Maria, I hope you're feeling sculpted!
Janet, keep taking care of yourself!
This weekend has been busy but I did manage a paddling session with my dragon boat team. We've entered a breast cancer regatta next weekend and I needed the practice
-
Tammy, that is awesome!! Good luck and have fun!!!
Janet, hope you are having a great weekend!!!
-
Hi Ladies!! You are all awesome, inspiring and I'm glad you are in my life! I cut back again today on the prednsione so I am entering the # that my face starts to get smaller!! YAY!!! I stayed the same or up a bit...I guess the apple turnovers and martini's caught up to me. I have been walking and been able to do more around inside & out....that's a good thing. If I am up to it I am going to try & start some low weight muscle work this week.
Maria, you are doing great!!! Keep up the good work. It is as important for the soul to spend time with love ones, I take that back, it is more important!! the shopping/sculpting is a bonus!
Tammy, you go girl!! I love that you're in the regatta again. Good luck!
Kathy, keep enjoying your loved ones!!!
(((hugs)))Janet
-
Hi, Janet, so glad that you are feeling better each day!! Low weight muscle work sounds great!! Enjoy your week, keep getting better!
-
Janet, good news!
I'm now into week 6 of my training and while the exercises are going well I haven't been perfect (OK I've been terrible) on the food front....overall I'm hovering around the same weight but feeling fitter! 😉
-
Hi Tammy Six consistent weeks of exercise is great sounds like youve picked up a great habit.
Naughty on the food front aren't we all. When I was in training breast I kept a food diary. It was an interesting experience I actually cut down naughty food slowly week by week. I had naughty days but only two a week.
Keep up the exercise☺
-
Hi, Tammy!! Feeling better is just as good as weight loss, good for you on your exercise!!
Cinque, good idea in cutting out naughty foods slowly but surely! I am trying to cut out desserts and chips, but I already cheated today!! Starting again tomorrow!!
-
Hi, Suersis, hope you can get the fluid on your lungs drained soon! I count calories, too and try to stay on a low carb diet!!
Have a great day!!!
-
yikes, gained a pound!!!
-
Gained a pound....what have you been up to☺third round chemo was harder than the others but Ive got past the worst of it and recommenced exercise today by walking 6 kilometres to work and Im doing the same tomorrow have booked in with a trainer for session on Monday. I am going to train through chemo whether chemo likes it or not. Inspire me tell me what you girls have been doing. Also have to confess burger and chips for lunch today I feel like Homer Simpson always thinking about food. Made a pact at office today we are aiming for a six pack by Xmas. Roll on Xmas my last chemo is Xmas Eve. Love to all of you and make sure you do something physical tomorrow or tonight
-
Dear Cinque!! Don't you worry about gaining or losing, just take care of yourself and keep walking! If you have a good appetite during Chemo, that is wonderful!! Enjoy those cravings for food!! You are doing great!!! When I was going through Chemo, my energy level was low!! You are amazing with walking to work!!
Just came back from a mini- vacation in Carlsbad, near San Diego!! Did a lot of walking every day! We ate well too, he,he😉😉😉 we are on our way home now, and I will weigh in!!
Hi, Janet and Tammy!!
-
Hi Ladies!
Kathy- a mini vacation sound so nice, I hope the weather was good. My husband went to San Diego once and said a spectacular the weather was! Enjoying life is what it is about. You always do so well with walking and exercising-Eating comes with enjoying! Now that you're home you can watch those calories a bit more, don't forget to keep drinking lots of water and green tea!!
Cinque, you are doing great! I can't speak from experience about chemo because I didn't have it, but I did go through quite a few surgeries, oral medications, injections and infusions. The fact that you are so motivated to go work out and you are working also is fantastic. Just remember to not over do and wear yourself out. You need to stay healthy and run yourself down.
Hi Tammy, did the regatta happen??
I was down about 1 lb this week, which is amazing considering I broke out the Halloween candy last week
-
Hi, Janet, thank you as always for your encouragement and support!! Yikes, forgot to weigh in! I will in the morning
-
Now how did you lose a pound eating candy?
San Diego is like Perth, thats where Im from. Spring here at moment so easy to be motivated when its so beautful outside. Im blessed with beautful friends who walk with me. Truly angels are everywhere and god has sent them to help me through this he sends them to us all we just need to recongnise theyare there and accept the help they give.
Im not weighing myself through chemo I need the calories to repair and recover and I will have my body and health back in the new year.
Have a great weekend angels.
-
You are an angel, Cinque!!
-
Hello everyone!
Yes, I did attending the regatta and it was a lot of fun.
Here I am in my uniform with a temporary dragon tattoo on my face ready to paddle. We got into the final but came last.....not a bad effort for us really!
