Happy New Year Ladies!! We can do this!! Maria, congrats on finishing chemo and rads will go well too!! Tammy, having those MD appointments cause so much anxiety for me..hang in there. You are doing great and don't let these Doc's get under your skin....all will go well!! Kathy, I have resurrected the old diet book from a few years ago, The 17 day diet, I am going to do some reading today and see if I can relearn some healthy habits or start up on this diet again. I remember it did help me last time, just found it difficult to stay on....Happy New Years!!
(((hugs)))Janet
-
Janet, I'm already a little anxious about the upcoming appointment.....but hopefully it will be a good year for us! Let us know of any tips you learn.
Happy New Year!
-
Happy New Year to You All!!! Tammy, I just know your check up will be great!!!
Maria, Congratulations on finishing Chemo!!!
Janet, yes the 17 day diet, I remember that one!! You can do it!!
-
Kathy, thanks
-
hubby and I are helping our son and his family move to Idaho!!! Lots of exercise chasing our beautiful grandkids and moving items!! California was getting too expensive for them!! Fresh start!!! Eating pretty healthy!!! Hope you are all doing well!!
-
Kathy, seems like a good start to 2016!
I'm squeezing into my pants!!! MUST START DIET....MUST START DIET.... My mantra for the week
-
You can do it, Tammy!! However, when I saw your picture here, I thought you looked wonderful!!! The last two days have been bad for me, cookies and a Sonic milk shake!!!! Today, I promise to be better!!!😳
Hi, Janet and Maria!!!
-
Thanks Kathy, lucky it was a head shot 😉 Tomorrow is another day.....for the first day of healthy eating and exercising
-
Off to a good start....
-
Tammy, Love it!! Have to have a sense of humor about it!!!
-
Absolutely.......so HOW are we all going?
-
Hello girls
I have made it back onto the gym. My joints are pretty sore Im hoping they will get better. We too cleared the house of naughty food. Im retaining fluid at the moment. Its a side effect of the chemo but it makes me feel enormous anyway I just have to be patient and keep exercising and eat properly and give my body time.
-
Cinque, your body has been through a lot so it is great that you are taking care of yourself and giving yourself time to recover.....I hope you didn't use my method to clear out the naughty food
-
Haha Tammy No I actually threw mine in the bin☺
-
Absolutely, Cinque!! About 2 weeks after my last Chemo, water retention became les and less!! But I kept drinking tons of water and peeing a lot!! Sorry to be so graphic!! You are going to do great!😃😃😃
-
I started going to the gym and if I don't make it there I have been walking for 30 minutes. I live in a pretty hilly area of FLorida and I do those hills. I'm hoping to start dropping some weight. I weigh 163lbs 5'4". I've never weighed this much and NOT been 9 months pregnant.
It's only been a week, but I already feel better
-
Hi Homemom
Sounds like you've made a great start. It doesn't take long ago the actually feel better once you start exercising. I too am the heaviest Ive ever been. Im confident I will lose my weight. I startedback at the gym last week. Baby stepsin there but steps in the right direction.
-
HomeMom, great start! We look forward to hearing about your progress.
I've started doing Weight Watchers again as nothing was working....day 3 but I doing OK😀
-
Hi Ladies!!! I'm back and would like to share with you that the scale has finally made a downward trend! I also must share that I am the heaviest I have ever been. I have gained 20lbs in the past year since I have been on the prednisone.plus the 5 lbs since my diagnosis and if you add that I had to loose 20lbs before BC that amount seems like I will never get there....But baby steps is the way to go. I have been eating the healthiest I have ever eaten and I know it will catch up. When my body will physically let me exercise I know it will be a little easier. For now I am walking every day, drinking lots of water, green tea, protein drinks, organic plain yogurt with peaches & blueberries and eating lots of lentils and white beans. My success this week has been that, with no pasta or any cookies. I am hoping for another good week. Keep up the good work ladies and keep us updated,
-
Homemom and Janet, Woo, Hoo!! You are both doing great!!
I have had a cold, so not a lot of exercising, but fortunately I am not too hungry, either!!
-
Kathy, get better quickly!!!
-
Thank you, dear Janet! I am drinking hot green tea!
-
Excellent Kathy! Hot green tea will sooth the throat and works as a diuretic. I started with a scratchy throat today too....That time of year.
I am still dealing with a tooth issue..I am so tired of reporting crappy health things here but it is what it is. I figure I have to catch a break sometime. I started with tooth pain in November and my dentist was having a difficult time diagnosing my problem so he sent me to an endodentist who decided I needed to redo a root canal that was done when I was 14 years old. 4 visits later and now I am finishing up a 2nd antibiotic and I still have pain!! I will see what tomorrow brings,,,I am getting so tired of dealing with crap...I spoke with the office today and they wanted me to double up on the antibiotics today and call tomorrow with an update. Going to sleep now and hope to wake up feeling better.
-
Janet, tooth pain can be miserable....hope you got that good night sleep!
Kathy, I hope you are feeling better....
Take care everyone! I have my weigh-in tomorrow and I'm looking for a good result
-
good luck with the weigh in Tammy! The dentist switched my antibiotics today, now I'm on 2 different ones. I hope this works.....on the upside I've been eating soups so not too many calories, I hope the weigh in tomorrow is good
-
Dear Janet, I am so sorry that you are dealing with this awful dental issue!! I am praying you feel better in the morning! Please keep us posted!!
Tammy, good luck with your weigh in!!
I am staying stable so far, but want to lose 5-10 more pounds by Feruary 22nd, when I see my PCP!
-
This week I kind of took a step back. I'm so behind in getting our taxes together that I've spent at leas two days in my home office cleaning it out and getting the numbers together for the accountant. I also had a couple of appointments to visit with a potential Realtor Brokerage and a developer looking for on site sales help. Back to square one!
-
HomeMom, we all take a step back from time to time which is fine because it's the long term that matters not just a couple of days. Hope you get back on track soon!
Kathy, 5-10 pounds can be done with focus. Healthy eating!
Janet, soups can be great, just a shame that it's because of a bad tooth.
I lost 4.5 pounds this week.....yay to me 😇
-
Congrats, Tammy!! That is so awesome!!!
HomeMom, Hang in there!! You will have a great week!!!
-
Thanks Kathy! I was amazed too!
I hope everyone is having a great week!
