oh that poor cat - I see the tail all bristled up!
-
This little guy is up for adoption today. He's waiting for his furever parents to arrive. Then he gets a bit of beauty rest before greeting his fans.
-
-
Oh my! Lucky kitty, lucky family!
-
He is really cute. I'm sure he's already adopted by now; they open at 11.
-
I love my kitties. But they’re so affectionate I can’t keep ‘em off my chest, Had lumpectomy 3 wks ago, and today a large seroma at my sentinel-node site spontaneously burst along the entire incision line. (Gushed almost as much as when I broke water to start labor 31 yrs ago). Had to have it sutured and it may delay my starting RT (APBI). So I have to break their little hearts again and tell them “stay off Mommy’s boobie-with-the-boo-boo.” They can’t understand why I keep shooing them off my chest, poor babies.
-
I wish my cats would be affectionate. They are still mad at us for moving them. 1 is over it. The other 2, not so much.
I love the kitten inn babies. I hope they all find purrfect homes
-
cats have a way of finding the sore spots. my non lap cat only becomes a lap/boob cat after biopsies and lxs... silly fluff ball
-
ChiSandy, I hope you get to feeling better and your healing goes well. It reminded me of this pic I posted less than 2 weeks after my BMX. I tried so hard to keep Dusty off the bed but he had other ideas!
-
ChiSandy - ouch! Hope you feel better soon.
These bubs are finally getting a look at the world
-
-
ChiSandy, I kept a pillow handy to have on my chest when sitting or lying. My cat always slept with me. Sorry to hear about the seroma. They drained mine before it got to that point.
-
ChiSandy sympathy! Take all the help that gets offered, take all the TLC you can get XXX
-
My girl kitty's logic
-
That's my cats' logic too!
Ready for the daily blast of cute from Kitten Inn? The two who look worried aren't actually worried.
Momcat is a bit overwhelmed I think, but doing quite well and an excellent mum.
-
Kiwi, if I didn't have to work, I'd be moving to New Zealand and volunteering at the Kitten Inn!
-
ChiSandy - not making light of your situation at all, I promise. Horrible that you were injured by the cat. But...I saw this on Facebook and had to post since it's so darn true.
-
I want to know how a cat always puts all 15lbs into their toe when theywalk on you? My cats like to play chase in the middle of the night when I was out on the recliner. You'd think they could miss me when they're running??!!
-
I hear you Smaarty! We have one that's 8 kgs and he always manages to stand on my rib where my mets are and it HURTS. One of the kittens must patty cake my boobs and neck and face at night. He loves to snuggle and purrs and purrs, and patty cakes with sharp little claws. Hate to push him away, but ouch!
-
i love the newest momma. She does look overwhelmed but aren't we all when we have a new baby, let a lone several of them :
-
I hear you Smaarty! My 25 lb boy must always hit exactly the right (wrong) spots and my little girl must knead the tumor in the R breast all the time! Fortunately, she is only 6 lbs! Love all the baby pics, Kiwi! If I could, I'd be joining Juliecc! Pesky responsibilities!
-
Oh Terre you are killing me with all these torti mommas!!
Don't stop posting though! Cheers, Dee
-
Tortis seem to be really common here; more so than I remember them being in the US. Glad you like them, Dee!

There was a great story on the news today. A woman was walking her dog. The dog was very interested in a box they walked by and managed to get it open. Inside was an adorable orange and white kitten with a note written in a child's handwriting: "My Mom's boyfriend is mean to me. Desperat for a loving home." The finder took the kitten to a vet who said it was a bit thin but in good health. It is now with Meow Cat Rescue and will be adopted. I bet they get at least 100 calls wanting that kitten. I'm also impressed with the child who had empathy for the kitten and took finding it a good home into her own hands.

KI cuddle puddle. Four belong to one mom, who has taken on two others who's mum couldn't cope.

No, no--my kitty didn't injure me, the darn seroma ruptured spontaneously while I was bending over the bathroom sink trying to get closer to the mirror while flossing! Surgeon who sutured it thinks my breast was too large and heavy for just steri-strips to have kept the scab over the sentinel-node incision from failing. Meanwhile, because of that I'm wearing the most supportive non-wired bras I can find during the day, and using an Ace bandage over my sleep bra as a binder at night. I'll know more Thursday.
Just before my lumpectomy my surgical nurse gave me a “P3," short for Protective Pillow Purse. It has a pocket for an ice pack, and in the pocket is a small removable cushion that fits between breast and car shoulder belt. It is a "pillow purse" because it has a shoulder strap adjustable with velcro for slinging over the shoulder and separating arm from breast. Every November, a group called “Protect the Girls" (sorry, they don't have a website) meets in Evanston, IL to make them (cutting, sewing, stuffing) and they're distributed to women facing breast cancer surgery & radiation throughout Chicago's North Shore (city & 'burbs). I sleep with mine on the operated (right) side and put another pillow across the rest of my chest. But my younger cat, Happy, likes to walk across my chest while I'm sitting in my recliner--and whenever he sees me put my arm or the pillow across it, he gets discouraged and I feel like an ax-murderess. My older cat Heidi gladly sits atop the larger pillow when I sleep on my back. Neither of them is a featherweight--Happy is about 15 lbs. and Heidi about 14. Here are some pix (Heidi is black and Happy is a ginger patch tabby).
My little princess Heidi at a year old: (she’s gotten camera-shy with age)
This was Happy as a kitten (he's easily twice as big now)
Some more Happy--here he is taking his entrance exam for the “School of the Seven Bells:"
More recently--what’s the deal with big cats and little boxes?
Saw this one on a wall in Paris last year:
-
ChiSandy -thanks for clarifying. I was feeling like a bit of an ass for posting the patty caking the boob thing, but it was pretty funny. Your kitties are beautiful. I had a cat named "Happy" when I was six and it looked a lot like your Happy!
The pillow sounds fantastic - wish I'd had one when I had my surgery done. I'd love to know more about it, there are people here in NZ always looking for something like that to do, and I bet this would be a hit!
Edited to fix typos!
-
Kiwi love the "kitten puddle" description!
Happy and Heidi . I love their names too!
I had to look up the School of the Seven Bells as we don't have that phrase here. BC.Org - always educational !
