Gonna try. Right now I'm sitting down watching Princess being entertained by the birds at the bird feeder. She doesn't talk to them like Charcoal did, but instead she just sits there and stares at them intensely and her tail whips back and forth really fast

I have had tons of bumblebees in my yard this year with all the rain and blooms. This duo came to visit some sunflowers I put in a vase from the farmers market yesterday (they had to go outside as the pollen was making me sneeze!)

I'm sorry you guys are all having problems, and sick & stuff, and not sleeping! The only thing you can do is come here, and we will try and make you feel better.....

I'm not GETTING in that damn recliner....! That thing tried to kill me..... It WAS my fault, because I couldn't think fast enough to let the foot rest down.... so try hopping over that thing, all wound up in a blanket, and see where you land. But it only hurt last night.... my arm, and my back. But 2 Aleve took that all away, plus the heating pad. Have you ever felt like you needed a whole body heating pad?

So today I cleaned out the garage AGAIN! Got rid of 5 more boxes.... It's all in the back seat, taking it up tomorrow to the shelter place. I'll bet if I went back in there, I could do more... maybe another day.... besides I don't have room in the car.

Then I straightened out my closet.... Found 2 "things" I couldn't find...... Plus a few others I wasn't looking for!

Do any of you "save" everything? When we get a new coffee maker, do you save the other one if it isn't broken? And I haven't gotten rid of any pots & pans or bake-ware, even though I don't USE it! And that waffle-maker.... ! They make frozen waffles now! So all that stuff is going to someone else. Don't know WHY I save canning jars.... or "cute" jars & bottles. The girls don't want that stuff! They are a lot smarter than I am.

And 2 coffee grinders? They also sell ground coffee now.

Where are the "Pickers" when you need them?

Although it is not easy to read about another sister's struggles, I am glad you have a place to go to talk about your challenges. I hope you made it to your husband's job and back ok. I would do whatever it takes to be comfortable.

Jazzy, love bumble bees as long as they don't come near me. When I was younger, I actually caught one just to see what the stinger looks like. I know, crazy, but there weren't books or magazines to give a close-up look. Love sunflowers...actually all flowers

imageDepends on what it is. Some things that still work, in ok condition go out to the street. Usually gone in an hour. Kept the glass coffee pot, but pitched the machine. Haven't made waffles in years. Would love those canning jars, I make pickles. Phyllo makes pickles too.

Watch out for those recliners! Spookie sleeps on the foot rest, makes it hard if I need up in a hurry.

Woof!! She had a hard afternoon, yearly vet visit. Heart worm test, distemper shot, bordatella vaccine, and an ear infection. She was a VERY good girl. With the earmeds was a bit over $200. Compared to a people doc, I guess that's cheap. She's worth every cent to me.

Mags ask your Y about Livestrong. It's free for cancer patients of any kind. They also have lots of financial aid. It's worth checking into.

Rose I'd opt for the drain too. Pain and not sleeping is a bad combo. Call tomorrow and see if you can get relief before the long hot weekend.

Your Spookie is precious and it looks like she enjoys having her pictures taken. Man, the vet meds can add up quickly. When we had our GS, I usually tried to fill her meds at the pharmacy (if they were the same as ourmeds). They were much less expensive. Amoxicillin for a dog is the same as Amoxicillin for human, but the vet clinic wanted to charge me three times the price!!

I know better then to ask.. last time I asked, it took them 6 days to schedule a paracentesis. My comfort or lack of it, is of no consequence since it's not life threatening. So another holiday weekend shot to hell, same as Memorial day. I will go no where this labor day weekend, house arrest. DH will take kids to BBQ at school. If I had a drain I might be able to salvage something of what time I have left. The diuretics clearly aren't working, or they are and i would be even worse. I could ask my PCP to order a paracentesis.. never went that route before. This is going to be a long drawn out ride. I am going to ask for the drain placement. I wtched the placement video and thought ouchie.. but it really won't be any worse then a port placement, except the tail hangs out of your gut and it's sutured to your skin, until the cuff seeds and holds it. Then I can tap away and wait for no one.. oh yes! May none ofyou ever get lobular breast cancer that seeds to the omentum and gives you ascites.

I feel sorry for all of you sweltering in this late summer heat. It's not hot here! It will get down into the high 40's and low 50's tonight! I just flipped the heat on! (DH doesn't know... he leaves it on 68 all winter.) It's 69 degrees in the house right now and 62 outside and cloudy. Brrrr. Be well this weekend. hugs.

Loveroflife- that is true and sometimes not true. My DD1 takes vitamin K supplements since her liver doesn't make fat soluble vitamins and you need it for clotting. The pills cost 9$ a pill for 5mg people tab!!! When my dog got HCG and was in puppy ICU, they charged me 25cents a pill for vit. K 25mg. I told the vet what my insurance company paid and he laughed! "Wow what a mark up.. and we mark ours up!" That tells you something. I do agree that vets sometimes charge a lot. I filled my dog's thyroid meds at the hospital when I worked there, cheaper. They did freak when they saw the amount. The clerk said, "this would kill a person!" I said yes, but it's for a dog so relax.

We just found this excellent vet clinic where the prices are very reasonable- blood work up/ full thyroid panel, blood draw, BP check and full exam for our 15 year old cat was 150.00. I order his thryroid meds from a compounding pharmacy and they ship fedx... costs 40.00 less a bottle then the vet was willing to get it for. Took a bit of prodding for them to fax the order and lose the $, but the mg per ml was higher at the mailorder pharmacy, so I could give a smaller quantity of liquid - more cat friendly even if it is chicken flavored. Always ask about other options, when an animal ends up on meds for the rest of their lives. Sometimes there are alternatives out there. I know how expensive it gets.

Spookie is very cute, so is Chris.

We got back to Dublin yesterday, dropped off the car and did a bit of shopping. We're back where we started. This is Our last day in Dublin. Since we are both sick with head colds, we're not going anywhere today. Long flights tomorrow, should be fun! Not. We have driven all over Ireland, our last city was Kilkenney. Nice but easy to get lost trying to get around. Visited one castle.

Morning gals! ENERVA is back! Yes, it's a beautiful morning in the neighborhood! And Smarty, you remember everything about her! Good job! I try to remember yesterday!

I found out what helps my lower left leg... You know, I wear those compression stockings, because after I broke that femur, and had all those rods, needles, and trucks run over it, it started swelling soooooo bad! Same side as my BC, and they took out 3 nodes.... but they say not to have shots or BP cuffs on that side....

So break a leg, and see what they do to that side! But the Lymphedema with you gals, makes things swell? And you can get it in your leg/ankle also, I mean if you keep knocking things around.......... So you use pumps? And compression sleeves? Like my stockings...... And now I put my leg up on a foot-stool, and massage it lightly, starting down by my ankle, and going up towards my knee. It used to puff up so bad, it got tight, and lumpy and hurt!

But now, after 3 nights, it is not swelling anymore....! Like right now I HAVE AN ANKLE! And I don't wear my stockings at night! So light massage helped that problem... I even used a heating pad to start with............

I watched a video on You Tube...

So after listening to you gals, and how the swelling after your surgery from Lymphedema, made me think that this might be my problem too! You can get it anywhere... even after an accident. Seems your lymphatic system don't like to be messed with, and doesn't do it's job after it gets compromised........ but hopefully I fixed it......

Smarty, I would be exhausted! Take care of that head-cold.... No fun traveling anywhere, being sick......... Beautiful pictures! How lucky you are to be able to SEE everything! Are the castles empty? Or used as a museum? Did you see any of my Relatives along your travels? Our name was Malone.... Grandpa's relatives were from Ireland....

Debbie Foots! Beautiful poem! That really was sweet........

SPOOKIE! I would be doing her hair every minute! I LOVED Lacee's long hair over her fur! And she loved being brushed and cuddled........ She looks like such a little Diva girly-dog! I wish MY hair looked like that!

Chevy, almost all the castles that we saw that are open to the public have at least some of the rooms refurbished to the time period of one of the owners. Most were in the 1800s even if the castle was built in 1200. Some still had the original foundations that were found during reconstruction. Many of them are now owed by Ireland. They don't allow pics on the inside. There are lots of partial ruins everywhere you drive. They have been left standing for historical reasons.

Chevy, the LE pumps can do legs too if necessary. There is a leg garment, goes from foot to hip. My PCP ordered my pump, insurance paid 100%.

Rose, thank you for the enlightenment. I always learn something from you. As a matter of fact, I always learn something from everyone here.

Ms. Smaarty, take care of that head cold. It's miserable to go on a long haul fliwhen you are all congested. The dry cabin air doesn't help. Hope you have some saline nasal spray with you.

Ms. CHEVY, I have read that massaging lymphedema and the surrounding areas helps move the fluid around. Good for hear it is working for you.

Foots, good to see you here again

It's 57 here at 10:30 in the morning. I'm trying to decide what to put on that's warm and fuzzy. Only supposed to get up to 65 today. They have promised 70's for the weekend which features a big music festival. Costs an arm and a leg to get in so I won't be going. I might hit a sale or two.

We're still recovering from a week of all the family in town at the same time attending 2 separate weddings. We went to the Science Center with GS and I really enjoyed the butterfly garden. Like a visit to the tropics.
