Mysunshine great news! Woohoo! Always happy to hear one of my sisters got positive news.

5 miles hiking and 2 miles noodling around town in Big Bear. We have to hike shorter cuz of our 12 year old dog Jack. But it was a beautiful day.

Thanks everyone about the clear scans. My MO is being pro active, I guess, but she sure is causing me anxiety and stress by having me have all these scans. Chest, abdomen and pelvis on Wednesday. I am so ready to stop going to doctor visits and just continue to recover from chemo. So msny of you on this thread (and others) said they have not done all these scans. Italychick, I love Big Bear and the area where you are. My son went to USC, so we were out there a lot.

Oh, forgot to say I am trying to walk some everyday.....would do more if it was not so darn hot and humid. And, now, a hurricane on the way, so we will be having rain, rain, rain!

Lynn- I had all those scans done. Just before rather than after chemo. It will serve as a baseline.

    3000 steps

    2 miles

    45 minutes active

    No tears

    A good day.

The LE and separate PT appts were enlightening.

my sunshine, yes it is beautiful up here and smells so good! And only takes us about 2 and 1/2 hours to get here. It was a great weekend to come because after I met with my breast surgeon about my ongoing plan for scans and monitoring, she made me really feel like a chapter was closed and I can move on. It doesn't mean I won't have scanxiety, etc., but after treatment and scanning, I feel like anything else that comes up should be caught small and dealt with. So the timing for a weekend away couldn't have been better! Best of luck on all your scans, etc., and I hope they all go well!

Also, a few years ago my husband and I drove from San Diego to Key West. Yeah, we are nuts lol. I took him to Ft. Myers Beach, where I used to vacation when I lived in Illinos, through alligator alley, to Key Largo and John Pennekamp State Park, then Key West. I love Florida, but man, the humidity is brutal!

Littleblue, where are you? I don't think I've seen you today. Glacier Grown is the place I get my organic meat. The owners lived in San Diego and moved to Montana to raise their kids away from city pressure, and they are all the nicest people. The "mom" is Karen, and if you ever contact her, tell her Theresa and Roger from Carlsbad say hi!

Hi there! I haven't been posting because I haven't been able to work out since wednesday. Today I hiked straight up a hill and almost ralphed, but it was short lived excercise. Then twice around the pond for about a mile total. And MLD. RADS have me all discombobulated and I have relives here. Theresa, Glacier Grown looks awesome. I'm a little worried they might be in trouble right now though...mandatory evacuations in place for Heart Butte.

mysunshine they either ship to me or I do a big pickup when they come to San Diego. And super nice people, completely down to earth, I love them!

Littleblue damn. I just sent Karen an email to see if everybody is okay there. I hope they are. Their animals free range, hope they are smart enough to run from fire, or else they can round them up.

And let me chastise you, this forum is exercise and well being, not just exercise. So I want to see you on here no matter what, otherwise the worry monster comes out of the closet! You are such a sarcastic, hilarious voice and you bring much needed humor to our group!

8/28: 4.5 miles treadmill and walking.

At mid-afternoon somebody in our neighborhood started shooting, and the police have told everyone to shelter in place. So no walk outside, and apparently there's someone holed up under surveillance not too from from here. Fortunately we have a couple of ways to get in and out of our street, but some people are trapped at home or away from home overnight.

we finally had our big downpour last night. The temperature has dropped at least 10 degrees. If it doesn't start raining again, I might get a walk in during normal business hours!

Susan, I hope you and your beloved are safe and not to distressed over events in the nabe.

haha!!! Those of you not schmaltzing yourself with emu oil are missing out on all of the fun!

Me and my emu breast did a 4.5 mile walk run combo with a friend and then another friend called immediately after and wanted to walk, so we did another 3 miles! I have 15,000 steps already! Sounds good, except the couple miles I ran were really rough

Good work, Kbeee. I'm afraid the cats will eat me if I use emu oil.

    Tomato porn, international edition:

From this set of photos it appears to be a male event, but those of us with bilateral/no recon and chemo hair could sneak in and take it over!

    Kbee- truly unstobbable. Well done!!!

So we have evolved or perhaps, devolved to international tomato porn. I can't believed I missed 2015! Gotta get that date on my calendar.

Jack and are going to a circus at a Memory Care facility today. We like that. We meet new friends every time we go!

(That's a little joke I used to have with my Dad, when his bitch wife put him there)

Sounds like fun, Katy. My mom was in a memory home for 2 years and it was so nice to have visiting dogs. They had a couple of resident kitties too. I love this! Also, made myself go to the neighborhood gym today. Did 2 miles on the treadmill and 2 miles on a bike. Time to go find something for dinner.

6.3 miles hiking today practicing mindfulness. Read somewhere here (can't remember where) to try to live in the moment. Like washing dishes don't think about what else you have to do, feel the water, the soap, etc. so my husband and i walked in a lot of silence and i admired the trees, birds, lizards, etc. I have to say it really did quiet my mind and made for a pleasant experience. We hiked to a lodge pole pine that is 440 years old. I can't even imagine the changes that have occurred since that tree was a sapling.

I'm liking this be in the moment thing

Theresa that is a good reminder to practice mindfulness. I've been trying to get back to that too lately to try to find some peace after this shitstorm. I remember the washing the dishes exercise and that's always what I start with when I try to get back to the practice. And also folding laundry (I hate folding laundry!)

I used to have this book, probably gave it away at some point but I remember it being very helpful in navigating tough times.
