Ruska, I walked and jogged all through AC. Just used spf 50 sunscreen and wore long sleeve es and sun glasses and a hat. Some days it was over 100, but I did it! Just be sure to hydrate a lot and rest if you need to.

Littleblueflower thank you for the advice! I'm not sure if I coud do the jogging... 1 month after mastectomy, but I was thinking youga maybe, even thou I've never done it before, but read that it helps a lot.

Ruska, it all helps, even just walking. Don't panic too much about the sun. I have been out in it quite a bit with my bike riding, and I am none the worse for it! When I hike, I wear a hat and a sun shirt I got at a fishing store. I can't stand the feeling of sunscreen, but I do wear some on my bike rides.

    Happy exercising to all!

This was my attempt at tomato porn. Hey, it's harder than it looks to take a selfie with your tablet while balancing a tomato on your new hair. But I care about you guys so I made it happen. Lots of walking today... to, from and around the farmer's market. Also dodged the rain shower by a stroke of luck!

    Sloth- Hot, Hot, Hot!

Me: If I can't run, how am I going to do the Fat Ass 50k in January, Dr. RO?

RO: Who said you can't run?

Me: You did- You said it would wear my armpit skin off.

RO: Oh, well, it will, but we have people with your pathology. We can bandage you up.

Me: Pathology? You mean breast cancer?

    RO; No. Running.

    Me: facepalm

Welcome, Ruska. I think early morning would be okay. My instructions were to use 50 SPF sunblock and wear a hat with a wide brim. My MO wanted me to be up and around.

Switchingchannels from tomato porn to flower porn. The wisteria re-bloomed. Why can't we have a link that releases fragrance instead of audio or video? We had lovely rain all weekend and now it is beautiful and clear. Exercise, well-being, and PT will be happening today. Walking and gardening I hope.

Lovely wisteria! The Anna's hummingbirds are glad for ours.

I'm off to test-drive a new gynecologist (my MO wants an OB/GYN overseeing my tamoxifen, not my lovely nurse practitioner PCP).

Just returned from the gym. Took a nap first, but did 3 miles on the treadmill and 2 miles in the bike. SURE wish I could walk outside. Hot, humid, rainy!

Well done Lynn! I know that was a struggle and you just showed your strength with that workout. Now be nice to yourself tonight...

mysunshine48 you are DOING! That's what counts! And in that Florida heat and humidity! It saps the strength all by itself.

24.6 miles on bike, 1565 feet of climbing, and I got mad at Ben, my boss. On a section where I rely on my fat ass downhill speed to get up a really nasty hill, he did a sudden braking maneuver and killed my speed. Oh well, I will get over it. At least I can do it haha

had a really good PT appointment, actually lifted some very light free weights today. Don't ask how light. But I NEVER thought I'd get here.

Plus some very enjoyable gardening, putting my stamp on the established border in the back yard.

    Plus:

    1 slow mile walking

    40 minutes

    A pretty good day.

Good to hear Katy. I have an appointment to set up a weight/resistance plan in a couple of weeks. Until then,

Almost three miles today, woohoo! The weather this am was really nice and cool. So of course I had to have chocolate ice cream for dessert! :-) I will say that after several pity parties over the weekend, today was much better.

Excellent work, Katy! and the wisteria is beautiful. LBF, a pity about the relatives...

    hugs to all!

I've been gone one weekend and the thread fills up with porn - hahaha!

Put in some mileage this weekend walking a creek bed looking for petrified wood and then at a rodeo/fair. Twisted my ankle this morning so no mileage today. Doesn't seem to be damaged too badly, at least. Tied to the house today anyway since my DH is out of town and DD got her pins out and cast off today and was home from school.

Slow 3 mile walk yesterday; BS had to do a bit more work than anticipated getting port out because of scar tissue. I was a bit sore last night. He did not say anything about running, etc, but I Think I will just walk this week and not run until the weekend to be safe. Littleblue, I am soooooo looking forward to being able to run 4 miles again. It seems so out of reach when I am so tired. I know I'll get back there eventually.......I hope.......

You will, Kbeee- I pushed it when I had my port out, and now I have a big knot of scar tissue at the site. Probably if I had taken a whole week off, I wouldn't have such a big scar under my skin. I hear you on the tiredness- bet you are right about the chemo still getting to us on top of radiation fatigue, on top of, oh, I dunno, LIFE? I feel like I"m the most tired right after treatment for about 4 or 5 hours- then I start to revive around mid afternoon. May switch my time to afternoon so I can just go home after, rather than hauling ass to work. You are one week down, right?

Kbee- you gave done such a good job establishing and maintaining your base of fitness. You will bounce right back. Your body will appreciate some rest I think. You still kick ass!

Speaking of kicking ass, excellent meme, Susan, and congrats on a new record, yes?

Jen- you amaze me. Very sorry about the scar tissue, hope they can break that up. But you also made me chuckle when you said you usually feel tired 4-5 hours after treatment. It immediately popped into my head that I took 4-5 days or sometimes weeks to bounce back! I didn't have rads, but still. You set incredibly high targets and standards for yourself.....and then you meet them!

Bowing in the "I'm not worthy position".

I'm taking the day off. If I feel like it later, I will go to the grocery. My radiated armpit is tight and itchy. Doing the MLD that I can with sore skin, icing now and then, taking antihistamines, and drinking water.
