INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Woke up sore from all my activity yesterday. Good thing that I only have the cleaning the kitchen floor planned for today or I'd be in serious trouble.
-

Actually, I don't like to "delete" any post, so all I do is click "edit" and take away anything I don't like...! And then just start over with something maybe even more understandable... in it's place..... or not.
Otherwise people will think "Oh WHAT did she say wrong THIS time! Ha!
I LOVE Lamb's Quarter greens! I grew them once, because my Grandpa gave me seeds, and have forgotten about them, until you guys get on this thing about greens! It's like Spinach, only tastes better.
ALSO, get you some Kale, then cook it up with a little chopped fried sweet Italian sausage, onions, potatoes, garlic and Italian Parsley! Then thicken it with Bisquick & milk, and it's just like the soup at the Olive Garden. I eat it for about 3 days or more... even for breakfast!
That Donald is just a dink. I know we are all entitled to our own opinions, but this guy's mouth is so full of his foots, that you just have to laugh. I just watch him for the entertainment value.
Peppermint! You sprang yourself! Good JOB! Now let's see how long THIS lasts! Those hospitals better have nice looking fireman type interns, or I ain't going. I just hope you stay feeling better.
Queenie!!!!!!!! "Cat spit?" Haaaaaaaaaaaaahahaaaaaaaah! That's a good one! Just get our cat his own glass.
Oh Rosie! You brought into the conflaburation something about Sass and her ability to confuse the hell out of us with her foreign language multitudes. See? I can do it too. I didn't even want to mention some of those words that fly off Sass's fingers.... I just pretend I understand....
Morning HiHo.... I know...... everytime I go out in my garden, I "see" bluebird... I glued her on my blue bird-bath....
MARLA! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Now drink it! You will see! It is just so GOOD for everything inside you!
No, little miss Sparkle Plenty wouldn't know what to do with it if she had it. She throws these "seeds" out, then looks at them again 3 years later, and thinks it's beautiful. I will take pictures of this mess when I get my 1/2 done... I've never done such hard grueling work in my LIFE!
She is probably sitting over there with her beach hat on, barefoot, and reading Better Homes and Gardens. With a proper iced-tea at her side.
MoMom... take it easy today.... Man, my hands are sore too, and my back, and my fingers have little cuts on them.... along with those bruises on my arms... It's getting light out... so gotta get my "stuff" and do some more work on the mess from hell.
-
Just 6 mil??? Pocket change for Donald.
-
Marla: I'm in the 'no bivalves except scallops' group too. I've been referring to that whole group as nastyslimyrubberybivalves for years now--I have texture issues like whoa--and all sorts of teasing from my family about that. But vodka shots plus just about any food plus being in college would have given me the heebie jeebies about the bleep things even had I NOT had a preexisting aversion.
Chevy: our cats have had their own glasses for years. Not that we spoil our pets or anything. We just have to remember to NOT put our own glass of water next to theirs, because everything belongs to the cats. Cat #1 (he who provided my username) had a sweet tooth, so we had to be careful not to leave glazed doughnuts, lemon drops or raisin bran where he could reach them. And he was a BIG athletic boy.
-
Here is a hug for you MammaRay, but I ain't got no 6 million dollars

-
"Rosie's back and she's gonna get a hUg dow dowa and your daddy's home or something." YES, Rosie that was for you. YES, it's jibberish. I need to jibber after to much thinking. Yesterday was a too much thinking day. Way too hard on this delicate brain.
IN YOUR POCKET FOR THE TAP. YAY FOR GETTING THE IBRANCE TOO.
Jazzy, thanks on the trump update(I think) I'm sure that cross leg thingy has been around for decades, but I never saw it till this year---or never paid attention. Somehow OK (trash magazine started coming to my house. Tabloid thing. Kind of funny, I put it in DBF's bathroom. I keep Money magazine in mine.
Okay Smarrty, a new home YAY. I'll work on it.
HI1, I almost killed myself one time, I ate broccoli & cabbage& one other cruciferous. I thought my belly was going to explode. I was just thinking about Bluebird yesterday to and thought of you. Do you still have Steve's address? Do you remember the kids names? Chloe? PM if you have the address. I inadvertently deleted her email. It was bluebirdfarm(s?)_____.
We need to do a PM shower for Enerva too. She popped in again on W&F's , but didn't stop here. That's twice now. That just won't do.
Marley oh honey, too much work. All this healthy eating talk...hmmm.....I did do something inadvertently. I rinsed the strawberries when I got home from the store. Forgot them in the drainer overnight. omd, are they as sweet as anything this morning, bursting with flavor. It was like they were saying thank you for the water. If you had a hairball accumulating, it would be in the stomach. Then when they get big enough they are called a bezoar. I've seen two, both had to be surgically removed. Rare. Trumps worth billions---you're right. What is that?
Chevy, What's this " get you some Kale". Get you? What dialect is that?" full of his foots"? Have you been nipping?
Mamma with you on that, feel better babe.
SPOOKIE (waving)
Going to housekeeping threads BBL
-
Sitting down for the rest of the day. I am bushed!
-
I can barely tolerate shrimp. And it had better be covered in buffalo sauce, or it's not going down my throat. I've always said that stuff tastes like low tide smells. Nasty. My dad liked to fish, and go frog gigging. Would say the chit tastes like chicken. No, chicken tastes like chicken. Not real fond of that either.
Won't do kale either. Slimey chit. Can't now Woopee! messes with my Coumadin. Yay!!!!
-
MammaRay- good to hear you are walking. I hope your little ones are doing okay and that you are able to get some rest. Hugs sister.
-
Spookie your shrimp post cracks me up.. hahaha Yay Patty you are out! Hugs to everyone I missed this thread makes me smile.. thanks ya'll.
-
Did a new thread. Exciting stuff. I suggest you put it in your fav"s. If you are having surgery it is critically important. The topic box says what I need to say, no sense repeating it.
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/73/topic/833612?page=1#post_4448145
Spookie, aren't you just a ray of sunshine.
MammaR-------sleep can be so overwhelming. I coined a word 'sleep attack'--better get horizontal b/c I'm going out. Your question about sleeping when the kiddo is watching a show. Make it a safe room. Be in the same room. With sleep attacks TV won't bother you. A place that the kid can't get into anything and they can't get out of the room. Quiet toys. A high slide bolt is good. Leave phone out of room.

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off this morning already. Daughter qualified for JO, so had to drop her off at 7:00 at the meet before heading to hospital to meet a friend to be with her for her doc appt.. She called me last night in distraught. IDC darnit. Too many of us already. Got to go. Appt. coming up soon.
-
Loverly, important you read my new thread. The evidence is so complelling. The use of Toradol is routine drug. Long term and short term implications.
-
Hey there....Sassy pressured me to come back..she twisted my arm and everything
lolI can't keep up, but that's okay right? Sending everyone hugs, kisses and prayers.
-
Tang!!!!!!
Yeah, gotta watch out for Sas.
-
hi guys, all caught up. Yeah, Patty you're home! Hope you feel better soon. You too Rose, can't imagine how you feel. So sorry!
Chevy, found aloe Vera in pill form for trip. Ended up not taking any because of possible repercussions! Can't go running off to the toilet at any time! (TMI)
Welcome to newbies. Hi Tang, glad your back. How's your little one doing? In kindergarten now? Or 1st grade?
Did you guys see all the reports on the weather in San Diego? Saw some of the lightening. Woke up to thunder on Friday. Remember that old song, It never rains in California, it pours! That was us. The show was fun but a lot of work. Glad it's over. Now on to Ireland! Yeah! Then to Detroit at the end of September. I'm just a traveling fool.
Bbl
-
Thanks Smarty

She's going to start 1st grade this year

Speaking of traveling, we went to Estes Park the week of Father's Day. It was our first trip to Colorado and it was AWESOME. I now want to live there, we didn't want to come back. I get daily reminders from dh about the weather in Estes Park compared to the sickening heat here in DFW.
lol
-
popping in to say hi. Way way behind. Not even gonna try to catch up. Hope all are having fun fun fun, or the best you can

Busy with mom and putting safety measures in place. Alzheimer's is tough. But that's life. It gets pretty messy.
I am doing great....except for a prolapsed uterus right now. Oh well. Don't need it anymore anyway.lol
Have a good one
-
Tang, my DD was there earlier this month. She had to buy sweatshirt got down to 45!!!!
-
OK Fess Up. Who watched Sharknado 3 last night? I saw bits and pieces of it, DH I think between dozing off saw all 3. Bets on Sharknado 4?
Tanga A Rooney - right back atcha girl. I keep up in batches. I think I still have 10 pages in a bookmark I need to read. Mommy talks about things I know nothing about and it must be in those 10 pages. I think the temps going to hit 100 today. It looks devastating hot out there. No clouds
Mommy - you put me to shame. You've done more housework in 2 days than I've done in 2 weeks. I have a large area of ceramic tile, the den, and a very small area of Pergo, the kitchen. I've been thinking of getting a steam mop for the ceramic. It is 18 years old and though dark with dark grout it's getting progressively grimier looking. I only really mop good where the dog is. The rest of the house is carpet. When I win the lottery (notice the positiveness haha) I will get this carpet replaced. Ug I hate it - DH's choice and it's way too light. Want my commercial carpet back that I had in old house.
Loverly - ?JO, Junior Officers, Jugglers Offline, Juicers Only. It sounds exciting for her, maybe not so much for you. Prayers for your friend. And prayers for you accompanying her.
OK Sassy those darn black box warnings. Several days a week I get up and 1st thing take 3 Advil, no more during the day and nothing else. Hand cramps, index finger acting up, just achy. Took a self imposed 2 week break from Femara, ends this weekend. Not one difference this time. I did this in December and felt quite a bit better. (will confess I detest summer). Questioned at MO's office about pain and this is what I said "not anything he's interested in treating". PCP says stop the Femara, MO says 7 more years. What's a girl gonna do? Oh yes MO did do tumor markers. Of course no message from him on anything. Nothing that I see abnormal, calcium on low side. Surprise, no not with the low D3. More yogurt. Oh and I have 2 bottles of Kefir. Never tried it but thought why not. I bought the dry cultures to make my own.
Chevy - Ship me some eggs pronto. I have hoarded part of an 18 count carton. Have to make something for pool party (can you say thank goodness for AC and misters outside). Making a chiles rellenos casserole, think it will take the remainder of my eggs. Oddly enough though Sprouts (those of you in CA and SW have these) have dozen cage free eggs for $2.50. I think even WallyWorlds are more than that lol. I know local grocer is for sure.
Howdy Susan. Getting that unneeded part removed or tolerating it?
-
Well I still haven't caught up but if I don't write this now I will have forgotten it!
Drove straight through to the casino Sunday afternoon, almost exactly 3 hours. My friend's group had just arrived, so we got settled in our room and hit the slots. We just played penny slots, hopped from one to another, couldn't believe all the different kinds! Ate some dinner then went to our room and played on laptops for a while. Monday I ended up having to take a nap, but then we went down and hit the slots again, lost & won & lost & won – I finished losing what DH had allotted me, but then my friend was down to her last $5 so was going to cash it in but on the way to the cashier she was sidetracked by a Wheel of Fortune slot and won $200! So she went and cashed it in and split it with me! So we ended up playing until after midnight then had to go up and pack. They had to have their bags ready at 7:30 in the morning so we were up at 6 and I got some coffee and left around 7:30. Could not keep my eyes open. Stopped halfway and slept for half an hour in the parking lot of a Walgreen's. Made it home, climbed into bed and slept for most of 2 days.
I managed to do it, and I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't do it again, because the recovery is the pits. I've developed a tremor in my left hand that is so bad I can't even hold my phone still to type on it. And sometimes my whole body shivers like it's cold, but it's not. Just trembles all over. What is this fresh new hell?
I will finish catching up later.
-
Mags - you haven't drive in so long or for any distance, could the tremor be from gripping the steering wheel or just the effort of keeping your arms up? I'd bet on something simple like that. Rest, recuperate, reflect. I think even with myself I'd find 3 hours driving (not riding) hard. Heck to be honest 3 hours riding and you'd have to pry me out of the seat. Furthest I've been in years is the just about 2 hours to Lake Murray (Ardmore) or to Allen (North of Dallas). I think I might have driven the Allen thing one time cause DH wanted to doze but I think that was b4 BC.
Confidence builder!!!
-
LMG, No not suggesting you stop. Talk it over with your doc as to what is best for you. Please, read the links on Retsky's study and Forget's. Retsky believes this is a leap forward. A heretofore unrecognized way to kill circulating cancer cells during surgery or sleeping metastatic cells b/c of the interference with the cascade that occur when tissue is cut. All NSAIDS don't work the same way.
-
Susan, When's the surgery?
Tang

-
Mags--sounds like you had a great time! I agree that the tremor could be driving.
Goats--I paid $4.07 yesterday at Wally World for organic cafe free eggs. Crazy prices since California passed a law on chicken farming that limits the number of chickens per square foot. I was already buying organic cage free at $2.50 but then the price jumped after the law passed even though it didn't effect them. I guess they figured that if regular eggs are $3 a dozen, they have to jack up the prices on the special ones. I'd get a couple of chickens but if the dogs didn't eat them outright, they'd probably constantly chase them all over yard and the poor things would be so traumatized that they'd never lay an egg!
Loverly--congrats on the Junior Olympics.
Sas--I know, too many hours. When I was younger, I could work six 15-hour days in a row and not be the least bit tired. Working my regular 12 hour day for three days plus my bi-weekly 8 hour day just about kills me. I'm not subject to mandated overtime right now because of my BC treatment but I volunteered to stay 2 hours Tuesday night to cover sick leave and that extra two hours kicked me in the behind! Lesson learned--won't be doing that again. And good to know on the hair ball!
Hi, Susan! I can't remember if I mentioned it, but also check with your local Area Agency on Aging for resources for you and your mom. My sister is the director of the one in Riverside County and sits on the federal board so I know thatthey have lots of programs. One thing I do know is that Medi-Cal pays for respite care for your mom if you need to go out of town or just need a break. Good luck!
-
thanks marlanab, my brother lives with her. He never moved out. But he is a teacher, starts back soon. My mom won't move in with me. She has a very slight version of agoraphobia . Can only tolerate being out of the house for so long. Got things to figure out, but we will get there, or I will make peace with not getting there.
Going in to see doc soon. Not sure when the surgery will be yet. Does explain a lot o things I been feeling down there. Weird pressure and bloating thT won't go away and stuff. Kind of happy the cervix popped it's little head out. Now I can move forward

Hope all is well !
-
ahh Junior Olympics. Now I get it.
I'd get some chickens too but I have bad creatures that come in the yard - possums, raccoons, hawks. DH would have to build a chicken coop like Fort Knox and I don't see that happening.
First time for this to happen. Answered door and it was real estate lady card in hand and well known agency, cold calling for potential customers. Not us, sorry. Neighbor trying to sell, 2nd time for this. Need to move into town, too much land to keep up. She says market out here is flat. Not per this real estate lady, market hot. I think neighbor is closer to the truth. The cattle land just across the road is back on the market. Was slated for development. Not sure what fell thru - financing, platting, wrong timing.
Ha Sassy. No doc even comments on the Advil and it's on for sure my PCP group stuff. MO doesn't look at most anything. Have yet to hear from that Prolia chick at his office. Like I said I think I will stick with my Fosamax until next April and next bone density. Hopefully I won't have another surgery to cascade tumor cells. No clue what I had for LX. Fentanyl? I have no records from actual surgery, only path report, so I'll never know.
Yay Susan for prolapsed uterus. Odd thing to be saying but by golly in the scheme of BC something positive.

Queenie! When you said your cats have their own glasses for years.... I thought but I didn't even know cats needed glasses! I mean WE are going Tuesday for an eye check-up, but cats? I could just picture them for a second there!

And so NEXT time, you have to expound a little more, before I believe everything you say!
Here's the mess I am working on.....
I know it still looks a mess, but if I just do a little at a time, I can still move the next day.... I have everything I need to finish it now... So I will take a picture when I am finished.
-
Chevy: (laughs) Original poster NOT to be held responsible for how readers msinterpret her posts. But you'd think an editor would know better! Dangling modifiers, ambiguous terms, doesn't matter. I've fixed it. But all I"m gong to say is that MY cats don't get anything to correct their vision until they start reading my books and discussing them with me.
Their own DRINKING glasses, that's another matter. There's always a bowl of fresh water down by their kibble. And yet....whatever's in the humans' beverage containers is far more appealing. At least until they realize it's wine or coffee or peppermint tea, and back away making the Mr. Yuk face. And then give me a "Oh, shut up, you b****h. This so isn't funny!" glare when I snicker at them. We found it easier to just have a glass of water on my bedside table for them, and a can of seltzer for me.
