Hear2Day......ask ?, whine, rant....we do. CHEVY, resident "Mom" will fix you a chocolate coke & tell you it will all work out. Sas & I might bring YA a glass of good wine.
HOOTIE Patty, so happy things are looking up... You will be swimming in the buff in no time, home sweet home
-
Loveroflife, I downloaded the photo from Google. I cannot take credit for that. I live about 3 hours from the lake, do not go often enough. I wanted to share the beauty of the Sawtooth Mts. With you all.
Jazzy, perfect sign.....
-
Patty- heard from Blondie on PM. Down to a few days before she heads back.
-
Hear2day, hope you are here to stay. Hey, I can rhyme...
Hole!! You fooled me there. Lovely picture still. This is a picture I took(not downloaded) when we were in Lake Tahoe last Monday with friends from Nepal. Amazing blue lake, but couldn't capture it with my outdated phone.

-
Loverly- I love Tahoe!
-
Thanks Jazzy. Doing okay--still look a little Uncle Fester-ish with the circles under the eyes but hanging in there. And as for lightning, it is very rare but when we would go to Pennsylvania in the summers when I was a kid, we would sit on the front porch and watch the storms. When I was there in the summer of 2013, I was driving north from the airport in DC and it was crashing right on top of me on the highway...."One...boom." Never even got the to "One thousand one".
On Saturday, my crazy dogs were on top of me--the 100 pound guy in my lap and the 75 pound guy on my feet. When one strike shook the house, the little guy crawled under the coffee table and wouldn't come out. Some guard dog!
Patty -- glad you're feeling better. Fingers crossed for minimal progression. I chew ice during my chemo iv's and I've had almost zero mouth issues. The first round, I did otter pops and still got a little chemo mouth where everything tasted like the bottom of a bucket but I've done straight crushed ice and haven't had any issues on rounds 2 and 3.
Spookie - even though I'm not having chemo mouth since round one, I don't salt any communal food since I don't trust myself even though everything tastes normal.
Sas--It was me with the with the tinnitus. Technically, I have secondary endolymphatic hydrops caused by labyrinthitis in Jan 2014 but it's easier to just use the term "Meniere's" which is primary endolymphatic hydrops. I'm not sure if the CoQ10 is helping keep the tinnitus to a minimum since I was taking it prior but I usually only have the tinnitus before a vertigo attack which is rare since I also take a Maxzide every day to keep my fluids balanced.
Loverly--so far so good on staying awake! I'm working a 12 hour day today so I still have 4 hours to go.
Chevy--I think the crocs visual worked but it was the "go bake a muffin" that had me laughing. And then you had to post the photo of being able to tell when Muffin was in heat so I had to laugh again...hopefully your neighbor isn't baking the cat.
As for the neighbor's ditch -- rock salt may be a good solution. It kills the vegetation and keeps it from coming back for a while....like how the Roman's salted the earth of their enemy's land <insert evil laugh>.
-
Loverly - beautiful photo. I love Tahoe.
-

Oh? So sass thinks she would confuse us? US I ask? I am always bordering on confusedness...
But you are right Sass...! I remember a few times when someone temporarily "joined" and left the weirdest messages... and was usually trying to sell us something... So "they" CAN all read our posts... We just gotta be careful...
Loverly, yes, cupboards are about finished, but somehow another one keeps popping up! I'm going to take everything out of the cupboard over the refrigerator, because you KNOW how hard it is to climb up there for some utensil I might need.... someday!
So I cleaned out the lower ones, and will work on the higher ones... The ones built right under the ceiling...!
Morning Peppermint! So you admit you don't understand ALL of Sassy's post? Ha! I'm not alone then....... Glad you are feeling a little better...
And yes Ice! But Ice in a chocolate coke.... try that.... maybe it is even nourishing? Eat a carrot with it.
Oh HEY "Hear"! So now wait! What exactly does that mean? Just stay hanging around here, and help us get to know you....! Not to sure about your name though.... Do you mean HERE TODAY? Or do you have hearing aids like I do... ?
Just might have to call you "Today" because I can't remember the rest... And Spookie, I do NOT mangle names.... just sometimes, because my brain is on a certain track, and well, you know how THAT goes.
Yes! HiHo, I AM the "MOM".... See, it's because I'm probably the oldest one on this thread... AND the cutest... Hah~ !
Ah geez Loverly, you are as bad as me.... She rhymes... See Loverly is the one who throws in a calming picture every once in awhile...
So our "Fester" is back? Bout time! I hate those storms! All that lightening and thunder scared our dogs 1/2 to death! I felt so bad for them.
You licked the bottom of a bucket? A galvanized one you say? You're such a bragger! Did it taste like chicken?
My little prairie neighbor is just a little flimsy! I mean I swear you can see butterflies floating above her head. One year, she wanted to plant PUMPKINS out on the parking! And they came up, but just little bitty ones. She PLANTS things, like the flower seeds from hell, but she never takes care of them! That is MY job...! I'll rock-salt those suckers into oblivion. But just on my 1/2.....
She DOES bake muffins! Just picture a tall lanky girl, with pig-tails, leggings, and bright pink high-top tennis shoes.... She just needs an apron with ruffles, and a garden trowel sticking out of the pocket. Straight from the prairie.... with WEEDS!
Thanks for the rock-salt suggestion... I have THAT, plus gasoline. You think that would work? THAT'S what I should DO! Then light a match!
Morning little Blondie! Good to see you again!
Okay... It's getting LIGHT! Gotta go put on my helmet with the light in front, and my rake, and little flowered garden gloves, and take care of business............
-
See, this could be her....

With Crocs and

-
Blondie- rest up well for your travels. I think you did do a few things yes? But perhaps not as much as the young folks. I cannot keep up with them either.
-
does she look like this ?

-
HaaaaaaaaaahHAh! And with 6 chickens at her feet...!
-
Or 6 chickens on her feet?
-
Ms. BLONDIE, I can't keep up with the young ones either and I haven't even passed the half century mark yet!
Is her name officially Today now Ms CHEVY? Ok Today....yes, I am the one who poststhe calming pictures. It gets steamy in here every so often, so as the most sane or normal one here (pss.,I tell all the newbies this and they all believe me and you should too), I do it to change the dynamics a bit.
Oh dear, I need to leave for work soon. Not looking forward to the traffic. Love you all.
-
That wouldn't surprise me at all.... She has a picture posted of her and holding one of her chickens... Ha!
She sent me an email, sort of answering the one I sent her 2 days ago.... I told her I was going to take care of MY half, and take down all the weeds...to help it look better....
I DIDN'T say, I was pulling, then raking, then getting out the nitro-fueled weed cutter, and blasting the blazes out of any remaing weeds, then putting on rock-salt, Round-up, and anything else I can find! THEN I will cover it with barrier, pin it down, and put those 2 bags of pretty mulch on top. I will buy some stepping stones, so people can THEN get out of their car, and have something to step on, without 4 foot tall weeds hitting you in the face.
Then I don't care what she does.... I think that other neighbor is going to report her, because she just doesn't care about what it looks like, nor the weeds and flowers hanging over the curb and growing there...
So she said "Thanks Jeannette".... and I thought "okey-dokie little air-head".......go make mud-pies for the chickens.
-
This could be her....

-
OMD!!! It that a snake hanging in his hair?????
-
I think it's a braid? See, he's in the woods.... where he belongs!
-
For a minute I thought that picture of the guy was a Hassidic Jew with a chicken.. then I cracked up laughing at my mistake... thanks Chevy.. laugh for the mornin! Blondie take pictures even if you are doing nothing. Take pictures so Andrew has them. Patty that MRI results is doable. DD2 is visiting and isn't up yet, so for 3 days I will be busy. hugs. Hi all.

On to the next stage for me: radiation. Specifically, the "Canadian Protocol", so only ONLY!? eighteen treatments rather than the full thirty-five. But I still refuse to use the term "lucky" in connection with any part of this process! It's merely less bleeped. (Don't worry: I am gradually returning to my usual grumpiness though I'm still wrestling with accepting treatment emotionally) Thank you all though I'm not planning to go anywhere in the near future! I'm just far less likely to melt down into a puddle of hysterical self pity.

Gawd, you all know I like searching just for the sake of learning. My passion, just as Smarrty's is sewing. Chevy's is gardening. Jazzy's is music. But that search on tinnitus was the boringest search EVER.
Seems like most everyone checked in last night and this morning. Who's missing? Let's hoot them out
YOOOOoooHHOOOTTTTTieHOOOOooooooo Susan, Frenchfrye, Nettie, Teka, Tang, MammaR, Phyliss, 2TA, Jwooohoo, Queenie, Smarrtie, Mommie...I'll add as I remember. Blankity blank pain med is messing with my memory.
Hear2day---MOm aka Chevy has dubbed you Today. That should make for interesting reading. We love humor. Your right, it beats awful down to hell.
Marley, fancy diagnosis. Back awhile we found out allot of us had vertigo and optic migraines. The optic migraines discussion occurred when we were on STFU. The ratio is 1:200 in the general population. We had somewhere around 1:3. Another thing was we had a high number of folks that their furballs alerted or reacted to their boobs before the BC diagnosis. So many I did a survey. I was going to send it to a researcher in England.
I have blondie's return date as the 22nd.
Off to check my housekeeping threads. BBL

Woke up to another hot day. Going to be turning on the a/c in a few. I keep it off as long as I can take it and then on it goes!
-
Stop talking about that picture of my boyfriend holding the chicken!

Queenie - moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. See if your RO recommends any cream in particular. Mine did, I can never remember the stuff's name, oh yes had to google for it, Xclair. RX only. Got a deal mail order from a pharmacy in FL - coupon from RO. That and Aquaphor. I bought front close bras from Wally World and wore cami's over bra under my scrubs. It worked great and really the bras came thru great even with all those washings. No greasy stains on anything. I bought the aloe vera but never used it. Towards the end esp. as it healed I bought the loveliest calendula cream California Baby from Target but I know health food stores have it. Noticed DH has appropriated my jar in his bathroom lol. It smells heavenly. I just saw some calendula cream at CVS or Walgreens on Friday.
This is the perfect description of how my rads were delivered.
http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/radiation/ty...
Easy off/easy on clothes. My techs were OK, some better than others. Did respect my modesty and tried to keep me warmer/covered up. I cheated and used a bit of deod. Wouldn't have if I'd had axillary skin problems, my problems were nip area. I wanted a non-jiggly bra and those WW's one did the trick. Not a pretty profile but I cared not. One of the beauties of baggy scrubs.
Report any, any problems to nurse. I let mine go a bit and ended up with Domeboro soaks. As a friend on another thread says - free boob as much as possible. Thank goodness only DH here so I did when I could.
Oh yes Sassy optic migraines. Had not had one in months then 2 weeks ago I had 3. Nothing like trying to read price tags with 1/2 an eye. Both my old optometrist and my glaucoma doc both dismissed then with nary a thought but gl. doc did ask me a question which I think I answered no so I passed the quiz.
Mommy - One of life's major advances is air conditioning. Evidently when I lived in Albuquerque as a child it was a novelty. Of course that is cheaper "swamp coolers" not this fancy refrigerated air stuff.
Jazzy - you just need a chicken coop in your backyard.
Yay my special hemi supp. in at local drugstore. DH has me picking up his repaired tire at Goodyear tomorrow so will wait until then. And my Ed Ames CD comes tomorrow from Amazon. Will have to learn how to play it on the computer. Fancy CD player is in the other room but I could turn it up loud lol.

Chevy, You should tell her about Vashon Island, WA. It's a short ferry ride from Seattle and it is just full of people like her. It's very rural and populated with ex? hippies who have gardens and chickens, etc. Town center is 4-5 blocks long. A good driveway plant is alyssum. It only gets 2 in tall and reseeds. It also smells very good. We would have people stop and tell us how good our roses smelled when what they were really smelling was the alyssum planted underneath.
They were talking about me getting the 18 rads. That was before they found a second tumor that didn't show on anything. When I decided I wanted the mx, I didn't need rads.

Pardon me if this has been discussed. Is anyone watching (?Wren, Mags) the Ken Burns Dust Bowl documentary on PBS? I watched it a couple of years ago and caught most of the 1/2 half last night. I cannot imagine even with our modern knowledge/conveniences living thru that. Heart wrenching about dust pneumonia that killed so many - I think I must have missed part one last time because I sure didn't remember that. Someone else maybe on another thread was watching it a couple of weeks ago so must be on the recent schedules of PBS. It is on again tonight and I sure know where I will be.
News on here - dumping one ton of ice into wave pool at metroplex amusement park. My back porch reads 98 degrees (east facing) at 12:30.
Found this story. Admittedly from 2012 but sure sounds like your description Wren.

Lilgoats! I remember my Mom taking pictures of the Dust Bowl when she lived in Amarillo.... Even HERE...! But the growth explosion helped get rid of all the prairies and grass, weed lands.... Except, I mean for my neighbor...Ha! Their lawn is beautiful.... but anything outside of their yard is just forgotten.
I just bought some curved bricks, to stand up, to divide what I am cleaning up, and her weeds... I'll kind of bury them in, on top of the weed barrier, and then lay the mulch.... That is all after I put the killz all stuff I bought.... I'll take a picture when I am done.... but man, that is HARD to try and pull those tall weeds/slash?"flowers" she planted out there! Some of REALLY has deep roots.... but I'll get out there with my weed chopper-offer! Hah! Damnit!
I get those optic migraines, but no pain! Just can't focus.... not that I ever COULD, but yesterday I didn't get the wavy sparkly lines, like I have before. Doc said it is nothing to worry about considering what all ELSE could go wrong...
Lilgoats.... good advice.... It's like maybe things we say will mean something to someone! That's really important.
Wren, that's funny! I've never known anyone like her.... and she talks real.........slow....... and I'm sitting there waiting........ for her to finish..........a sentence! I could trim my toe-nails before she even says my NAME!
-
Ms. CHEVY, I am thinking maybe you should get a few goats or borrow LMG's to take care of your neighbor's weeds/wild flowers problem. It's organic and you don't have to waste your energy trying to get rid them( I mean the weed not your neighbor)
