Lol, Jazzy loved the story. What's in an Orgasm? I have heard of the drink. But then it was on the time period that was just loosening up. You deserved the tip.  Dad and mom had a bar in the around 1940's.. A guy called my mom a broad. She went to my dad and asked what a broad was. She said he told her it was a woman of bad morals. She went back and  hit the guy over the head with a bar tray of beer&glasses.

It was fun reading you guys this morning! I heard it was a "Screaming Orgasm".... Ha!

I mean DAMN! It DOES sound good!

I'll be back later... gotta get ready for the new Refrigerator coming today... time to get rid of "stuff" that we have in our old one.... like old condiments, etc.! Then back to painting.... xoxoxo Sass! Loved the video! It is just heart-breaking though, when our folks reach the final stages... We try so hard to make them "understand" things...

Rose- I am so glad to see you were able to get some relief.

Everyone else thank you all for the tips. 2 finger typing atm. Going to soak today Sas . I sure hope this rash does not mess up my labs. I have to have them drawn Sunday. Have blisters now and hope the soak pulls out the fluid. I am thinking I have an allergy to latex gloves. Taking 50 mg benadryl every 6 hours.

sewing isn't dying. A lot thanks to Project Runway, which I never saw. It used to be you sewed to save money and do your own thing. I sewed because I couldn't find pants and bras to fit me. So I learned how. Now I don't make either with the weight lost and new boobs. I still make my summer dresses and some tops. Of course, quilts and wall hangings too. Have to finish 2 garments for this month show, then I'm back to quilts. Have started cutting it out already.

Frey, ouch, sounds bad. Is this from the chemo

I do not think it is chemo related as it is only on my hands. I wore gloves this Sunday and am now thinking it is an allergy to the latex in the gloves. I have used latex gloves for the last 20 years and it did not occur to me that I could dev an allergy to them. I think the gloves and me washing my hands too much this weekend led to where i am now.

    Lesson learned .

Patty- yes, I have been learning the steel drum this past month. We finished our class last night and waiting for some videos people took so I can share them with you. Music is my first love, never did it for a living but love to play for fun. Been in various orchestras through the years, and a few gigs along the way. I play the flute, 2 types of sax, violin and now the steel drum. I can actually be my own band now (LOL!)

What most people don't know about ABQ/NM is they have one of the best music scenes in the country. Not like Austin, NY, LA, etc. but renowed for it's latin and jazz music scene. We have some amazing talent here. We have an org called the NM Jazz Workshop that I have been involved with since I moved here in the mid 1990s, and have done a lot of classes with them through time. Next spring, they are hosting a week long trip to Cuba, and I am GOING!

Here is a link of our instructor playing up in Taos on the steel drums. His name is Frank Leto and he is a fab musician!

Frank Leto on the Steel Drums

We talked about doing another class next spring with our little steel drum band and doing a gig at the Music Under the Stars that they host here in the summer. I apparently am now officially recruited into a steel drum band. It is the most fun I have ever had with music.

I hope to have more videos to follow from last night!

Jazzy - love the video. Can't wait to see \ hear you playing in video. What talent you have. I can't usually even keep the rhythm while clapping. Lol. A Cuba visit? Love your energy and zest for life.

Jazzy- pretty funny story about the drink! I am so glad you are continuing with the drums. Such zesty happy music is good for the soul and good medicine too.

Patty- enjoy those kids! They grow up fast..

Smarty- funny how we all had home economics and sewing 40 years ago and it has served me well my entire life. Too bad they took it out of schools. I have saved a fortune making my own curtains. Every one should know how to fix a hem and make themseves a meal! Even the boys.

Howdies to anyone I missed. I wish I could go to the deli with Blondie Sass and Spookie... count down.

Patty, Just b/c you're sweet. I figured it would cheer you up. But twice I asked if anyone had chocolate or nut allergies and you didn't answer. I knew the pic would catch your eye. I have been known to make them last a long time. Incredible self control. Ehhhh Not.

Rosie we'' get lot's of pictures Wish you could come too.

Chevy, I think that town concept could catch on. Many of the Az patients I've been around , want to go somewhere. Constantly busy. This way they can move around safely.

I get jury summons regularly but haven't for a few years since I've been retired. Last one I got I missed funeral of one of my favorite patients. I think there is an automatic exemption past a certain age though one is not obligated to exercise the exemption. DH just never gets them but I do. I wonder if it's because I vote in local elections and he rarely does unless I hogtie him and make him go.

Fun morning. Making dinner for Sunday School couple again. Thought - haha wrong - that I had everything for a cherry jello salad. No missed the lemon (who would have thought that) jello. So I've been to the grocery already this morning. Was planning on going after I delivered the meal but now that's done. Have to get roast in oven later and make none to fancy Betty Crocker pouch oatmeal cookies. BTW I read a review that they are really pretty good. Think I will add either chocolate chips or M&Ms to them or maybe Reese's pieces. Can you tell we like our sweets?

Alright Chevy brought up condiments. DH and I were on the only cruise we've been on. Can't remember what the comedian/schtick was but audience member was asked what his favorite condiment was. His answer was Trojans. Howls of laughter. Don't know if he was a plant, we'd only stopped in as excursions info was due to start there. My bad for the day.

Frey - Could be the latex. Any way you can get some nitrile ones? New soap for hand washing??? Could just be exaggerated dryness but I think with your climate that is unlikely. Owiee Spookie that sounds like no fun at all. Seems like lots of drugs having warnings about Stevens-Johnson syndrome. But I certainly agree a call to MO is due esp. with holiday weekend looming.

Patty - did the boys get home OK? Did you smother them with mommy hugs? Know you must be happy today.

Chevy - Screaming Orgasm sounds good and I don't even like Amaretto.

Well, since I started composing this have gotten the salad in the fridge. Now to get the roast on and make the cookies at the same time.

Mount Hood! So pretty! There is no snow hardly since this is the driest hottest year we have experienced. I don't feel so good.. kind of nauseous.. filling up with fluid again. That sure was quick. My abd hurts. ugh meet with onc wednesday.. might need more tapping. I did food shopping and am so tired.. everything does me in. My DD2 and her boyfriend are coming for dinner on Sunday.. hope the fluid holds off enough I can enjoy them. I am excited. I will have all girls here. yay!! I bought 6 ears of white sweet corn! They love roasted corn on the cob, burgers and salads. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. I look forward to staying up holding my dog during the fireworks... a yearly ritual. Oh and gathering all the cats and locking them in the house for 2 days. When Percy was a kitten the fireworks scared him so badly he climbed so far up our cedar tree, that we couldn't find him. He was to afraid to climb down and cried so long he was hoarse nd voiceless! It was our oldest Deaf DD who spotted him up the tree! He spent a couple days there. Poor thing. Now everyone goes in.

while my boys were in TX ds1 got a text from a class mate. The boy texted "this is your mom. I am in the hospital. I will die within 2 days". although ds1 knew it wasn't true and who it was from it still really upset him. I don't know the boy's parents but so want to call him and ask for his parents and tell them. I am afraid it will just make it worse with school starting just around the corner. Ds1 hates talking about cancer. I can't decide what to do. What should I do ? Help needed please.

Soory these are kids and that kind of cyber bullying is evil nasty and you should talk to the parents. Explain your concerns and how difficult this kind of behavior makes an already hard situation worse. The parents if they have a molecule of empathy will be horrified and it won't happen again. I mean how would some kid whose Mom or Dad was in the military feel, to get prank messages- saw your Mom/Dad blown up on CNN.. how low can you go? Patty intervene. The little snits need a reality check that there is ZERO humor in this kind of prank.

Patty, I play badminton at a church in town. There is a badminton gym about 40 minutes away. It is not a popular sport here in the States. Popular in Asia and certain European countries. Very fun and fast game. Girl, I can tell you are feeling better because you are more chatty--it is good to see :) Babies home!!

The schools should have procedures and policy in place to deal with cyber bullying. If this brat has done it once, he could do it again. Or maybe already has. He needs a reality slap.

WoW! Patty I am so sorry this has happened. I agree with the others in that you really should contact the parents. They should be horrified to find out what happened. If they are willing to do something about it, ask them if maybe they can use this as a teaching opportunity.

If the parents end up seeming like arses then definitely go to the school. I hate for this to be happening to you. I know it sucks even when healthy, to find out one of your children are being bullied. I can only imagine how you feel right now.

Sas and everyone- I took 2 benadryl and slept for about an hour. I am drinking lots of water . Hubby picked me up Zyrtec and I just took that about an hour ago. The swelling is going down and i am less itchy.

I head up to the hospital tomorrow to preregister for my labs (will have them drawn Sunday). If my hands are still bad in the am I will call the doc. If they are status quo I will wait since I see him on Monday. Of course any worsening of sx I will call right away. I have no rash anywhere else and thank goodness for that.

Jazzy is living life. Good for you. You must have good ears for music. So talented- you play 5 instruments?  Wow! I can play one only....my lips (whistling). Saw the video of your instructor... .very nice and so relaxing.  I find it kind of amusing watching him playing.  It looks like he is stir-frying hehe.  I can't wait to see your "recital" from last night.

Frey, glad to hear your hands are better. Have you tried a corticosteroid cream or ointment?  I developed a  nasty rash from the JP drain plastic tubing....blisters  with  red mark where the tubes touch.  It was so itchy, it kept me up at night.  The only relief was  applying triamcinolone ointment and creating a barrier between the tube and my skin with a gauze.  I still have the scar.

Rose, I hope you get good rest before your DD2 comes home. I hope you are not  getting peritonitis.  The paracentesis should work for at least 3 days right?  diuretics will not work in your case..peritoneal vs hepatic ascites?
