Kathy, I'm glad you sought help & are feeling better. Your kind words have helped through some tough times over the past few years.
Good news, I lost 1 lb!!! I have been going in the other direction....so this is progress. I'm feeling a bit better today, I need to drop my prednisone dose a little slower, I had a major set back....this is going to be a better week!
Have a wonderful day dear ladies & thanks for the support!
(((Hugs))

you all are not going to believe this, but since being on Lexapro, I have actually lost some weight!! Not having those crazy cravings anymore!!!
-
Good for you Kathy. I hope it has helped. I have wondered many times if I needed something to help me with all things I & my family has gone through.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend ladies!
-
I know, I do not like taking any medication !! I am hoping it is just temporary! With exercise and therapy, I am hoping that is all that I need!! We have had a crazy year!! But it is getting better! My husband talked me into getting some help with my anxiety!!! So glad I did!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
-
Happy Mother's Day!
-
Thank you, Tammy!!!!!
-
I have been a bad, bad woman....I'm craving everything bad.....and giving in! I' too scared to get on the scales.....perhaps tomorrow
-
You are human, Tammy!! It is Ok to give into your cravings, sometimes!! Just walk tomorrow!!!
-
I think I need to walk for a whole day!
-
that a girl😀

Don't give up Tammy, we all get those times. Sometimes you have to indulge yourself. Get it out of the way & get back on track.
I've been extra good because I've been tracking my calories, it does make me more accountable for every bite. I've lost a few pounds but unfortunately plenty more to go. I had a bit of a setback with my PMR & had to go back up on the prednisone.....this is a slow process. The goal is to find the lowest amount without causing the crippling pain to return. The problem is if you drop too much there is a rebound effect & that's what going on right now. I hope to get some more answers from my rheumatologist at my appointment this week. Not a great few weeks with the MD's. I've been seeing an ENT for some issues and my 9 month check up with my oncologist is next week. I will be relieved when they are past. Will need to resist that chocolate stress craving!!
Hi Kathy, hope you're feeling well. I've improved on my water intake & making sure I have a cup of green tea each day. It is such a great diuretic.
-
dear Tenaj!!! Prayers for you that both of your appointments go well! Hope that you can get some answers from your rheumatologist. Those medications can be so tricky to find just the right dosage!! Have that chocolate Hon!
-
Thanks Kathy, I survived the appointments. Status quo from my endocrinologist :-)! I see the rheumatologist in 3 months, she increased one of my medications that is suppose to help me need less prednisone. It is tricky to find the right dose of prednisone that relieves the pain and not go too low, which is what happened to me recently. It causes a relapse of the symptoms & I had to jump up on the dosage again. The good news is they told me I lost 6 lbs since February. Unfortunately I had gained almost 20 lbs. This disease usually goes away in 1-1.5 years after treatment begins. The countdown continues......
Next week I see my oncologist for a 9 month checkup...I'll be glad when that is over. And not to sound like I'm complaining, but.....I have another issue I am dealing with. I've been seeing an ENT for some persistent ear pain. I'm having an MRI the same day, not looking forward to that. I hope to keep loosing this weight, I've been eating very well, just not able to ramp up the exercise yet.
Thanks again for your support over the past 3 years. I hope you are feeling better also....you deserve it!
((((Hugs)))) Janet
-
Janet, anything you say to us isn't complaining..... What we eat is WAY more important than how we exercise for weight loss so you're doing the right thing!
I wish I was.....I'm having a horror work trip with a sugar addicted colleague! I'm sharing desserts I don't need at every turn.....if only I could say NO
-
Dear Janet, please always tell us how you are doing!! You have a lot on your plate right now!! The most important thing is your health! Wow, 6lbs , you are amazing!! And Tammy is so right, what you eat is much more important than exercise!! Tammy, no worries, the work trip is temporary, enjoy your sweets!!!
Hey, I ate a ton, this weekend!! Don't want to see a scale until Friday😜
Love you guys!!!
-
Kathy, good luck for Friday but I'm sure you won't need it😉
-
Thanks, Tammy
-
I worked up the courage to get on the scales today and.....
-
Gotta love that picture!!!! Hope it wasn't as bad as you though...no worries though, this is a life long process of eating & exercising healthy. We have those moments ((sometimes days or longer) of indulging, sometime you just need it!!! I have been finding that the green tea is really been helping with the water retention & curbs my appetite. Starting making jars of it & keeping it cold. No sugar added & it is so delicious.
-
Tammy , that picture is so funny!! Hey, we have to keep that great sense of humor!! Janet is so right, it is a lifelong process, so we just keep on trying and do the best we can!! I have got to,get back to drinking more green tea!! Good Job, Janet!!
-
Hi Ladies, I'm back to finding all the bathrooms!! I guess I've been drinking more water & green tea...so far its working. I had to go to bed early last night because my stomach was so loud!! I hope to see some moves down on the scale this week.
My previous few pound weight loss was cancelled last week because I needed to go back up on my prednisone & the holiday weekend. Oh well..... IT seems I had been doing such a good job lowering my dosage that I went too far & then had a relapse, now back up to 20mg. Unfortunately the round moon face is backThe good news is that I learned that on lower doses I can see some improvement. Previously I thought I had to be completely off the med. The plan is to slowly lower my dosage to the amount that I am not crippled & then stay there for a while. I saw my MD & it appears that this disease can last 1-2 years. Looks like I am in for the long haul!! Just have to remember that I am glad to be here everyday!!!
My oncologist appt was cancelled last week because of the MD so that is rescheduled in the next few weeks. Now dealing with an ENT because of a persistent ear ache & infection, I had a hearing test that showed some unilateral hearing loss so I had to get an MRI of my brain last week. My report came to me online & appears to be negative, now waiting to hear from the MD.....Trying to stay healthy & keep things working!!
Have a wonderful day!
((hugs)) Janet
-
Janet!! You always stay so positive!! I am lifting you up in prayer that all your issues resolve soon!!! Keep us posted!!

Janet (((hugs)))

Hi Ladies & Happy Friday!! Just got my results from the MO visit this week & my tumors markers are within normal limits!! Next appt in 1 yr now!! I very happy with that good news, I am glad to put that visit behind me. I am not able to decrease my prednisone yet but did manage to take my 1st bike ride this year!! The scale is stuck despite my eating very well, I guess I just need more exercise. We are going camping at the beach next week & hope to do a lot of walking, (I'll just have to keep the drinks & food to a minimum) Hope is all with you dear ladies. Stay well & enjoy your weekend!!
-
Hi, Janet!! Great news about your tumor markers!!! I bet you enjoyed that bike ride!!! Don't worry about the scale, enjoy camping at the beach! You will have a ball!!!! I have not gone on a bike ride in months!! Thanks for the incentive!!
-
Janet, great news!! Biking is wonderful exercise. You'll soon be back exercising.
I've been a little down but yesterday I decided to get back on track with eating and exercise. So far, very good!! I just have to keep it up now
-
hey, thanks for the incentive , Janet!! Took a bike ride, felt great!!
Tammy, every day is a brand new day, I have gained some weight again and feel, yucky!!
Let's recharge together!!
-
Hello Ladies! Kathy, glad the bike ride went well. My butt was the most sore, I even have a soft big old lady type seat!! LOL
Tammy, glad you decided to get on track. It is so difficult to be under stress or whatever life happens to throw our way!! When the S%%t hits the fan so to speak, it is even more difficult to eat right & do the best things for ourselves. BUT...we do know that when we eat better & take care of ourselves we ultimately feel better. Although sometimes we need to feed our souls with extra special goodies because it really does make you feel better, enjoy it and then get back on track!!
