Imaging center called today with order for my next 6 month mammo, so that is now scheduled as well as the apt to see the BS in mid July. Seeing the MO in late July for my follow up there and also the next Prolia shot, which I scheduled awhile ago.

Funny how it feels like you just finish up with all the follow up apts, when it is time to go again. This will be #5 of #10 so I will be half way through the five years.

Thank you Patty! DH is better. He is a baby when he is sick. Don't tell him that.

Ms. Chevy, I'm going to try not to put my foot in my mouth about Bruce Jenner. I don't watch much TV. I get my news mostly from the radio when I am driving or when I check my email and yahoo supposedly "news" come up. I am old school. It doesn't make sense to me. It is just sad that he had to go through so much surgery, thus pain, to become a woman. It is something I will never understand. I wonder how his children really feel deep down.

Marlana must be at work today. Hope it's not too taxing for you

Congrats Great Grandma Smaarty! Wow and you are one year younger than my mom. I shall start calling you Ms. Smaaarty from now on

Not too often you can say Yay for low something but Yay for low thyroid. Go meds go for Patty's low thyroid!

Congrats Smaarty. Hoping for a girl for your family.

I know Jazzy. I had a couple of months break between appointments. Just got gyn and MO made for June and July respectively. Shopping for new optometrist. I get to be the guinea pig and try out a new one. Our old one BooHoo retired and neither of us like his replacement. I found one I think I can like but betcha she's more expensive. That's relative since I only go once a year. It's the glasses that's the killer.

Speaking of glasses I think it was Wren who has mentioned Zenni online in the past. DH ordered a pair of plain Jane (or lol would that be Jim) glasses, distance only for driving. He's very pleased with them $29 wowza. They fit me good but too delicate for my everyday wear. I lean over on the couch and sleep in mine, bang them on various doorways esp the goats (can you tell I'm a klutz?). I may buy there when I finally get my eye exam done. I priced at another place local "America's Best". $263 for basic model, progressive lenses. Hmm tough choice.

I get my eyes checked next week and plan to use Zenni again. The only problem I had was when I lost a screw, but found it right away. DH was able to fix it. He's always losing eyeglass screws and has a fix it kit. The big question for me is whether to do anything about my cataracts. They are definitely affecting my night vision, so it might be time to operate. I also see colors differently with each eye. Confusing when you're trying to paint.

I have always thought the Kardashians were a strange family and had never heard of Bruce Jenner before all this. I just wish they would quit talking about him. As someone who didn't reconstruct, I have to say he/she has good looking boobs. Wonder why our recons don't look that good.

Smaarty, Congratulations and I second your wish for a girl. Boys are not much fun to sew for.

Loveroflife- please send what ever those are on the tree. Oranges maybe? My sister has an amazing lemon tree in her back yard.

Luv- I have an eye apt too in July. I am just going to do the exam and not do anything new with glasses this year. I have several script glasses that are all working fine. My eyes rarely change.

I remember Bruce Jenner from his Olympic days. I forgot about him until the Kartrashians popped up. I will ask again, why are these people are famous again? I do get Olympians are famous for being star athletes, but the others? The Kartrashian father defended OJ Simpson, which I would NOT be bragging about. I find it amazing how much media coverage that family gets. I think there are a lot of other things I would like to be hearing about on the news. Sensationalism and all that jazz.....

I live in a very progressive community and transgender folks are very common here. I remember going into a store here years ago, and a man who clearly was transgender waited on me. I did not blink and eye. I just try to mind my own business most days.

Full moon yoga tonight. I will try to take a pic of our circle to share with you. She always asks who we want to bring into our circle during these events and you all are coming in with me tonight!

Plums, Jazzy. We have a lot this year. Usually, they are very sweet. The orange blooms are pomegranates. I don't have very good luck with my Fuji apples though. The worms get to them b4 we can harvest them. Would gladly share the plums with you...if only you are nearby. All of my neighbors whom I share them withlove them. Thank you for taking us with you to the full moon yoga....man, I still have the image in my mind thanks to Marlana.

Forgot to tell you that I really love the video clip of the golden retriever and the lamb. Showed it to my daughters and they loved it. That madethem want a dog even more now. We might consider start looking for one after we come back from Yellowstone at the end of June. My DD's idea. Her reasoning is when she goes to college next year, it will be very tough for DD2. The dog will keep Dd2 company. We will see

Pretty cool, another disaster averted. Wasn't to nervous till he knocked on the door. He's cool knows what's important. Says "It's okay". Then we talk. He got what the need to know was right away. We have a plan. I have confidence in him. Very cool. Very cool.

Then I went and bought a microwave.

LOL I had to do it just that way. Silly. Kind of droll. Oh yeah----not going to cut off more lady parts. Then went on with life.

Spookie, I got a weather connection from Litttlegoats-----I'd suggest putting it on your phone it's a good one. Rain was awful for about 20 minutes, but went early. YOU bought a TV. So what has changed in your life that you are now going to watch TV?

Now those are plums worth eating. I have a few branches that look like grapevines. Clusters of tiny plums. My grocer had on clearance on the cutest plastic Ball jars for freezer jam. Hopefully I can make at least some peach. Not sure how I would peel/pit my 2 bite plums.

Wren - do you have trouble getting the glasses to fit your face? Eyemasters did very little when I got these, almost like they were afraid to touch them. My old optometrist office when I could last afford his opto shop services would bend, mold, work with them until I was satisfied. These that DH ordered were so very basic wire frames. Fit me great but sturdier wider plastic frames I think would have been tight on my face in the same size. How true do you find the glasses shown to what they actually are? His look identical but then like I said there's nothing to them.

My glaucoma doc says my cataracts are not near bad enough to do anything about. I wonder if lots of the dark/light adjustment I have is from the glaucoma/drops and not the cataracts. I drive very little at night, just no reason to. Once I adjust have no problem, it's the dark/light/dark like in/out with the dog.

HaHa Jazzy just read your note. Oddly enough I see distance better without my glasses, DH and I were comparing earlier. But reading, Oh Boy. These are 2 years old. I never filled last year's Rx.

Gosh I didn't realize Kardashian was on the OJ defense team. Now that you mention it I do remember him but remember Shapiro much better - he sell's Legal Zoom. Not a clue why the K's are famous. Not anything I watch.

I will look forward to going to full moon yoga tonight with you Jazzy. BBQ'ing chicken thighs.

Oh my Spookie gonna have TV. Yes inquiring minds want to know what was the deciding factor. DH just got Amazon Prime so he can watch free movies and get 2 day shipping. No Kindle, Ipad etc. in this house. I fear my satellite may be on the chopping block and wonder if that's the 1st step. I love my hockey and car races.

and and and doing the Happy Dance for Sassy. Yahoo!

I had to laugh at the womanly Bruce to Kaitlin... she has very good reconstruction.. how did they do that? I wonder what all these foreign hormones will do to him. He made the evening news.. incredible. It must be very strange to gender reassign. His kids must not know what to say... "Dad" or "Mom?" It's his business. What puzzles me is why is he singled out for the news when there are so many others?

Good luck with the glasses. I just got transition lenses and titanium twistable frames, no glare for my DD and it was only 155 at Costco. I had a coupon -what a deal. They turn nice and dark DD just loves them.

Lovl- your plums look great! We had wonderful oranges and plums when we lived in Sacto.. miss the fruit in california. Here we have cherries and apples that are wonderful in Oregon and berries. Right now the cherries are just blushing over and the apples are about the size of apricots.. got a way to go yet. Glad your DH is better.

Patty- in answer to your question right now I am taking a med break. I am not allowed to try the drugs I want to try and I refuse to take the harsh ones, so we (onc and I) sit and stare at each other. It's a game .. only I won't blink and I am not doing anymore scans. My cancer is slow growing or I would be dead by now. I don't feel good when I take the meds and I don't feel good when I don't -so it's pretty much all the same. I mean Blondie isn't doing anything either and she's still here. Kind of amazing isnt it? Glad you are better and your thyroid meds will be increased. Hope you have a great summer.

Yay Sassy, every 6 months is doable.. Yay Smarty for the new Great Grandbaby... daughter you hope for. When I was in Florida you all had one Biblical rain storm.. I couldn't get off the freeway fast enough. They drive like fools 65-70mph and it's raining sheets of water and you can't hardly see! Those are some storms..something to remember, but not to drive in. scary!

Now now Rose. It's only a bit of rain. Nothing to get excited about.

Why the TV? Because I got tired of paying WAY to many $ to ATT for 10 g Internet, and we'd run out before the end of month. I'm on data right now, probably run over tomorrow. DD told me about this, from Brighthouse. Cable and UNLIMITED net for under $100 monthly. Will save me about 40-50 a month. I want the net, don't give a chit about the garbage on TV.

So if I'm paying for it, I'm going to watch it. Probably on CC, can't have it loud. Checking into wireless headphones. Went to Best Buy, found a 19" flat screen for 99.

AND I'm out of contract on my phone as of yesterday, so Best Buy also has the iPhone 6 for basically free. I'd have to switch to Verizon for that, if I can get a cheaper plan, I might do that. Will have to be equal, or better and cheaper. I don't want much!!' I do LOVE my iPhone.

Not an app Spookie. I don't have a smartphone. I was looking online and replying back to her. DD has some plan with her Iphone - I know it's not the latest, greatest phone but she's happy with it. I just cannot afford a data plan on top of everything else. However her's works she's very pleased with it. Our house phone is Verizon. Have to have a house phone to have internet. No cable out here. But cells are AT&T. For a long time it was the only carrier that worked this far out. Haven't tried any other carrier since prob. 2006.

But again I do think most of the local TV stations now have their own weather apps. I would think they would be more up to date with changing conditions than the Weather Channel. Something notifies DD by phone when severe weather is near. Know she watches online weather.

Almost midnight here, who is up? I went to full moon yoga then on the phone with phone calls for two hours after. Busy night. Lots going on for people.

I brought you all into my circle tonight, did you feel the love?

Loveroflife- I love plums! And I am glad you liked the video, I saw it on TV and thought it was sweet. My sister has a golden retriever and we just all love her to pieces. They are special dogs, always looking out for everybody. Are you thinking a rescue dog or a breed? That puppy on Spookie's weather post is cute. I bet DD will like a dog friend, it will be a big change when her older sister is gone to college.

Sassy- good news. I like that you went and bought a microwave after. Back to business!

I need to go sleep. The full moon rising up over the mountains as I drove away from yoga was spectacular. What an evening!

Yup loveroflife, you nailed it. It's been off the hook until about 10 minutes ago. I'm holding up okay--I slept 11 hours last night. And you're not weird about having the people in the house because I'm the exact same way. Especially after I learned that one of our hardcore gang members was working as an installation contractor for Time Warner. You just never know who you you'll get showing up at your house. And you're welcome on the visual image.

Lovemygoats--sorry about your senior goat. My dad had a small head of cattle at a property outside of town when I was a teenager; a small group of 9 Charlais, Hereford, Brangus and one little Angus that I considered a pet. I think Baby was intimidated by the size of the other steers because he would break out of the fencing, run down the street and hang out with the neighbor's goats. Broke my heart when he was finally sent to slaughter. I didn't eat beef for 3 years.

Jazzy--literally spit green tea everywhere when I read "Kartrashians". There are so many more important issues that the world is dealing with than their drama.

Rosevalley--I probably need to get reading glasses or something but for now can'tmakecan'tmakemecan'tmakeme. I was borderline before chemo and I've noticed since Wednesday that I'm having a harder time reading small print.

Chevy--shhh....don't tell anyone but I'm one of the illegal waterers, too. We're only allowed to water 2 times per week and for a maximum 5 minutes with a sprinkler system. At least once a week, I hit the manual start button on my sprinklers, usually late at night so no one sees it. I figure I'm entitled to it since my planters are all low-water requiring plants, I don't have anything to water in my backyard, I recycle all my grey water on my planters and I've cut my showering to under 4 minutes per day with a low-flow shower head.

Patty--thanks! Water is the key. I started feeling a little funky earlier then realized that it had been 2 hours since I drank anything.

Smarty--congrats on the GGB! Fingers crossed for a girl.

Sassy--glad you got a plan and congrats on the new microwave.

to whoever wrote about the aloe vera (I'm too tired right to search back thru the posts): THANK YOU!!! I didn't use it in any of the suggested ways but my head starting itching and burning while I was at work and I immediately thought of the aloe vera I had at home. When I got home, I made a50/50 solution with water, very gently massaged it into my scalp and covered it with a shower cap. Instantaneous relief! I'm debating weather to cover my pillow with a towel and sleep like this or rinse it off before bed. Heaven forbid if the water police find out I took a second shower today.

Hah! From whatever it was that Sass was talking about to "wearing" Aloe Vera.... !!! I cut a leaf off of my plant, and split it open, and rubbed the gel onto Dear Husbands knee... See, he FELL, and skinned his whole knee, and you would think is speedily on his way to occupying a wheel-chair! I MEAN, what a cry-baby! I tried to bandage it a couple times, and he is like a 12 year old kid! My DOG you would think I never knew how to use a band-aid before! This is about day 7 after his "spill."......

He thinks that picking off the scab will make it heal faster... I am ready to call the para-medics, and let THEM deal with this man! We also use thin cut Duck Tape over gauze, for his poor little knee. No wait.... Duck tape over his mouth!

Yes, Aloe Vera for everything... drinking heals us from the inside out... But I'm not cutting any more off my plant... I'll spray some of that gallon of aloe on his knee!

Marla! I'm getting ready to sneak out and water my plants! It's so funny, because I DON'T waste water...! But the one time I forgot, and left that hose on, I get busted! Yes... so much snow, but our climate is mostly dry.... Now HOT and dry... was 100 yesterday on our back patio! See, if we DON'T use water, they raise our rates.... And we are billed on how much we use anyway, but going over what we are SUPPOSED to use can get us a fine... This guy next door has his automatic sprinklers come on every DAY! Early morning, but his little bit of lawn looks good... He has tried so many ways to GROW lawn, because of his HUGE Great Dane! There is big river-rocks all along his fence, and just a little area of lawn now.... He has trained that dog to just go on the sidewalk, and then around the fence... but those rocks are so BIG that I think it hurts his legs to walk over them.

Oh, and I can't talk to my Daughter about Bruce... Ha! She will defend him/her till she runs out of breath. Now I just listen to her, and say "yes dear..." I think it's my age... I think it's like Religion, Politics and now Bruce. Don't get involved, and don't argue. It's just so bizarre! At 65 this MAN decides he has had enough of man-life, and gives it up to look like an ugly woman? At 65, I mean what's the point? So he is a woman on top and a man on the bottom... Now most men would think he has the best of both worlds, right? Okay, I'm done... First the water-police, and now I gotta watch out for the "shut-your-mouth" Police. I hope HE has to shave his legs and get cramps!

It's beginning to get light! I must stealthily go out and turn on that damn hose!

Actually we get 3 days to water, if we want... but NOT after 10 or before 6p/m! EVER! So I'm safe....

Good morning friends- wishing everyone a good day and hope the SEs are minimal for those going through treatment right now.

I heard Bruce/Caitlyn saying that there is a realization he is having about how much pressure there is on women to look good. A man living as a woman creating new awareness of what the other gender goes through. Now we just need him to go get a car repair as a woman and see how much extra he pays as a result.

Bah! I am starting early today to set myself up for a sleepless night. I have an appt tomorrow and hopefully I will get a date as to when I start chemo. I am more worried about the doc and his staff than the fact I have cancer. Sounds crazy eh? I have only met him once thus far and he seemed rushed. There also seems to be a communication problem between himself and his staff. I "think:" I just caught them all on a bad day my first visit. I do not have much choice in my docs at the present since I was just approved for medicaid and I live in the Florida Keys.

I can say the last 4 minutes of my initial visit with him I could tell he really cared about his patients so that give me hope. Sorry for the whine. : )

I think I will try some melatonin at bedtime and clean the house today. I am hoping I laugh at myself tomorrow after my appt for being so daaag anxious.

Frey- hang in there. All the cancer docs I have ever seen along the way are very busy. I live in a city with less specialists than are needed here so mine are always in and out fast.

If you feel rushed as they are explaining things to you, please ASK that you are given the time to talk through treatment so you know what to expect. I had issues with this after my breast surgery and with the rads that was being recommended to me. I told my medical team I needed to UNDERSTAND why the particular type of rads was being recommended (which also required me to go out of state for it).

It is okay to ask a lot of questions, this is your body and you are the one who has to go through this. Bring someone with you to help right down the answers too. We sort of have a shock around the whole thing and cannot hear a lot of what is being told to us in the beginning.
