Geez I never had a percocet in m life until my mastectomy and chemo. They didn't bother with vicodin. One and it took the edge right off. I would ask for that especially with the neulasta shots! I had ACT and adramycin is just evil- makes you feel like you have been hit by a bus. CT is hard enough! I hope you rest up and on the lighter side of losing your hair...it's summer and you live in a place where it's warm! Plus it was wild when my hair came back in - you never know what you will get. I had stick straight ash blond hair that came back grey and curly! A perm from within! Now you know something is strong when you get a perm from chemo. It was kind of fun having curly poofy hair. I liked it! Being bald was cold, but I live up North.

Spookie- I hear you I used to want to travel all over and now I don't. No cruises for me, I get sea sick snorkling... got back to the beach and puked twice. Pathetic. It was fun but I don't need to do it again. You do have the most gorgeous white sandy beaches and blue water and lots of birds. Why leave?

Chevy it's heartbreaking to see good people lose their personalities and memories. I watch it with my Mom. Fortitude for you! You are lucky you are upbeat and engaged in many things; It keeps folks sharp and able. I hope your two friends find their footing. Carol is lucky to have you. Gratitude is a wonderful quality to have, makes everything better. (((hugs)))

    Welcome newbies! Be well everyone.

Marlana, If you get the pain down, take the pain medicine as prescribed. It's a lot easier to stay out of pain than it is to get out of pain. Don't worry about taking it as prescribed, the danger is when you start taking it for fun.

Bummer - just lost my post! Not sure what I did!

Loveroflife - Glad you are enjoying watching your girls hang out together, even if it does involve silent farts!! Lol! I remember my brother and sister doing that, too when we were kids. I truly do just enjoy being at home!

Spookie - I think you have it made with white sugar and sand beaches so close! DH keeps talking about moving to Wilmington...some days I think it would be fun, some days I just want to stay here! I don't think I'd enjoy a cruise, either. Like to keep both feet on the ground - guess that's why I don't fly much, either. Good idea about the fan. I have that constant whirring in my ears, too...worst when going to bed at night - a fan is a good idea for some white noise. Of course I notice it NOW since I am thinking about it...must change subject!!

    Stephanie - Welcome!

Marlan - Hope you can get some rest today after doing all the yard work

Chevy - very sorry to hear about your friend, Anna. That is very sad

Jazzy - hope you have a nice time helping your friend and having lunch with her!

Wrenn - I have to say, I'm suspicious about Tylenol, too. I try to get by taking as little as possible, but that is the one I tend to use, too since I have so much trouble with the other ones.

Blondie - Hope your trip to FL is wonderful!

Sas - love the glassware and the big hug pictures!

A former co worker ate Tylenol like candy for pain, over a long period of time. Now she's on a liver transplant list.

Spookie- dang. I know the pain killers can crap out your organs. I avoid them unless I really need them.

It is scarey! She did this for years apparently. I guess it's ok for a few days once in a while.

Spookie I was astonished when I met the first couple of patients who landed on dialysis after using ibuprofen over the recommended doses and for years. Then the first of social drinkers who couldn't take Ibuprofen because it hurt their stomachs, so over did it on Tylenol- which if you drink consistently... toasts your liver. Yep headed off to transplant land. These were young well educated people too. Just because it's OTC doesn't mean you can pop like candy. All of them were so surprised..."but it's just over the counter stuff? How could this happen?" Read the directions and dosingon the box..hmmm.

Well I made it out of the house for 3 hours and didn't need a bathroom!!! I took DD1 and DD3 to clay Sunday to make something for Dad. We had a nice time. DD1 was totally into it. DD3 smashed her clay and restarted 3 times before getting the results she wanted. In all very fun and theymade some very cute pieces. It was also fun to see all the other kids and their parents making things, talking and creating, telling stories about their art. What a hoot. I very much enjoy activities like these. Lovely day here just picture perfect!

Hope you are all having a good Sunday.

Rose- yay for a successful outing!

I think people don't take much personal responsibility for things anymore. No one is going to lord over anyone and monitor their med intakes. Young people also think they can break all the rules and get away with it. I know, I was young once too!

    Roses--congrats on getting out!

Still drooling on my parents' couch. Good thing it's leather. Dad helped me wash my stinky dogs today--it took 45 minutes for both dogs and I needed a 3 hour nap to recover. Going to try to drive the 6 miles to my house after dinner.

Marlanb- sounds like some of the worst part of the first treatment has hit. I am glad your father helped you with the dogs. You need lots of rest. Hope you move through to feeling better soon.

Are you also working (or trying to as you feel well enough?)

Just stopping by to say hello. Worried about all you gals that may live in the flooded areas. Texas, especially looks so bad. Out here we have heat and drought..yuck.
My fur babies are doing well. My blind , Annie Mae had to have fatty lumps removed, but thankfully no cancer cells were found and she recovered well. My little mixed fox terrier rescue is still scared of almost everything , especially flies :)) she will run in the yard chasing lizards, but if a fly buzzes by she runs and hides.
I've been looking at DIY backyard landscaping ideas to deal with the drought. Don't want to go all dirt because the dogs like the grass in the backyard. Pebbles get hot and my HOA hasn't approved artificial turf. Looking at installing pavers. Doesn't look too difficult when I watch those backyard makeovers shows ;)
My health has been good, thank goodness. Last year I was so anemic. I've started watching diet and supplements carefully so hopefully I'll keep my red blood cells up.
Lots of new names here. Hello to all of you. Hugs to all....

hey ladies. It's Sunday evening already. Ugh. Where did the weekend go ? It rained all weekend - boo. Well I am thankful we are not flooded and swimming like in TX. I've somehow got my days and nights mixed up. Friday night I was up sll night in pain , so sat night up all night since I slept all day. Today I slept like 4pm to 9 pm do ill probsbly be awake all night again. Boo. If it wasn't summer break for my boys it really wouldn't matter. But it is and I really don't like sleeping during the day when they are home they are plenty big to fend for themselves but they slways worry about me when I get a nap. During school I would get up with ds's and dh and get them all off then back to bed. Plus an afternoon nap so I can be as energetic as possible when they get home. But now summer break I have to figure out a new plan.

I finally caught up on all you guys have been up to but can't remember to post to all. So hugs and hellos all around.

pawprint--I'm in the same boat for yards. I have mostly dirt and concrete in my backyard but it gets a little messy for the beasts when it rains. My "little guy" (75 lbs) loves jumping in puddles and my GSD can't stand to get his feet wet. I'm thinking about the artificial grass in the backyard--it's not like the HOA jerks can see over my fence any way!

Jazzygirl--Saturday night and today have felt the worst so far but I'm starting to feel "normal" tonight. I'm tentatively scheduled to go back to work Tuesday but not until 4:30 PM 🎶Because I like the nightlife, I gotta boogie...🎶. I may re-evaluate that Tuesday morning..

Well, 2:55 AM and I can't sleep so I thought I'd see what the night owls do for fun. I had surgery 4 days ago and slept so much since thst now I'm wide awake. I tried watching tv, but the cat seemed really bothered, lol.

Hi Blondie, we're kind of in the same neck of the woods. I live in the Lehigh Valley.

Hi Marlanab, I hope chemo isn't treating you too bad. Day 5 is when I'd start to go downhill and I'd feel better by day 10. If you feel too bad, ask to go back in for IV fluids. Took me 3 rounds and a trip to the er  to learn that even though I was drinking a lot, it was passing right through me and flushing out my sodium while not getting properly absorbed by my cells. IV fluids brought me back to life. What kind of Furbabies do you have?

Morning gals........ Hi Debiann! Glad you found us.... These gals are awake all night, but I'm here to hold the fort down all day...Ha!

You have gone through a LOT! A lot more than most of us, but we'll help you get over the bumps...

You look beautiful, if that is you in your avatar... otherwise who-ever it is looks good also...image

And most everybody here has either kids or dogs... mostly dogs... We had "Lacee".... She is in my Avatar... most beautiful little dog in the world... We lost her due to kidney disease... etc.... so we really don't want another one just yet... maybe someone will fall into our lives, but not right now.... What pets do YOU have?

Loverly, what's wrong? I see you almost said something, but then didn't.

Somethings wrong, I can tell.... you want to talk about it yet? xoxo

Yes Marla, some parts are getting way too much rain, and flooding, and poor California is having one of the worst times ever!

I put down a bunch of pavers, and they worked out well... Just make sure the ground is level... You mean like the brick square ones? I know a gal who used old bricks... Now THAT would take patience....

We did our whole back patio area years ago with left-over flag-stone, and then "black-top" in between.... We bought the black-top at Home Depot... And they lay it in between when it is hot out!

And anything will settle, or rise... especially if you have HOT, and then freezing weather...

Okay, what ELSE do I know nothing about? All those meds... I know that no matter what you take, you just can't take it on an on-going basis...

Except maybe stuff for diabetes, etc.

And yes, we all DO think that if we buy it over the counter, it is "safe".... But they all say don't take every darn minute for the rest of your life...

We just gotta figure that out...

Everything you take has an effect on something else going on in your body.

So Hi Mel, Jazzy and Rosie... Now WHAT did they do to you Rosie? I'll act like I know, but really I don't...

But sounds like one thing led to another, and then you went straight down-hill!

I'm surprised you can put two words together, after all that you have gone through....

Okay... just stop everything, and get back to me... Drink lots of water, get lots of sleep, and only eat milk-toast and soft stuff... like scrambled eggs.... and mashed potatoes.... And yes Yogurt.

I WOULD PUT YOU ON ALOE VERA.... 1/4th CUP 4 TIMES A DAY MIXED WITH ANY JUICE, OR TEA! You can get this stuff at Walmart! A little over $7 for a gallon! Honest, this will help you more than all the other stuff.

Spookie! That's funny.... Eyeore won't fly! Hah! Now ain't THAT the truth? And even when they do, they like to let everyone else know how miserable they are..... And what WE think is fun.... is NOT fun to them sometimes. .....

See gals, when men get older, they just go off on their own little mind-altering mood swings.... And they like for us to buy into it... but if we have 1/2 a brain, we know better than that....

So you just listen, and then try not to laugh when they are expounding on how the whole world is going to pieces... And "What's there to be happy about?" .... And you just look at them and think WHERE DID THIS ALL GO BAD?

But then you just humor them, and stay happy yourself, and go do your own thing.

And you are thinking I will love this crabby old man until the day I day, and even if he IS 1/2 off his rocker sometimes, he is still mine, so I must NOT get too mad, or I would hit him over the head with a cast-iron skillet.

THAT'S what they are good for! Those skillets are too heavy to cook with, so God made them for stand-by mood alterers....

Okay, now what else can I help you with?

    And MORNING Jazzy...Are you behaving?

And OH! Littlepaws is here! Give Annie Mae a hug from us...

And Pepperming~! Go boogie girl! I'm with you.....!

    Good morning friends!

I had a good day doing music and visiting with my friend (coming through chemo) yesterday. We went to this place for brunch after grocery shopping that she loves. I had these eggs benedict, but instead of hollandaise sauce, they use yummy cheese queso sauce. Oh my! The ham on it was not like the thin sliced sandwich stuff you get in a deli, but like a ham steak kind. Dang that was good. My friend treated me too, which she did NOT have to do, but apparently wanted to with the help I have been giving her since her dx. Well, heck, that is what friends are for, right? We help one another, no questions asked. It was sweet of her to buy me breakfast tho......

Weather is beautiful here. Full moon rising last night was outstanding. Tomorrow night, I am going to "outdoor full moon yoga". I bet you are wondering what the heck that is? A nice evening of yoga in the sunset hours in the great out of doors while the full moon rises up. One of my favorite things to do in the summer months. Jazzy loves her outdoor yoga!

Got a trip to the gym to get to and then an 8:30 a.m. apt. May you all have a good day!

Marla - glad you are starting to feel more normal on day 5. Hoping today us even better

Blondie - hope u finally slept. Don't worry all moms are embarrassing to their children at their age , right ? Man I sure was. Didn't want her even speaking to my friends. Really for no reason because my mom really was awesome. Are you doing a countdown to Florida on your fridge ?

    Debian - welcome

    Loveroflife - everything ok ????

Jazzy - what a sweet day with your friend. Outdoor full moon yoga sounds interesting. What the night temp there ? Always look forward to your posts to see what new interesting thing you are up to.

Chevy - moody men needing a mood alterer, lol. You are so funny. I have been thinking about how to slip a Valium in my dhs daily food but no luck yet. Maybe the iron skillet would be quicker and more fulfilling. I think you should leave the outdoor full moon yoga alone Chevy. We don't want you Mia for hip surgery again. I missed ya.

    SAS - howdy.

So ds1 went to work with dh today to earn some extra money. It's just me and ds2 (10) today. Wish he would hurry up and wakeup. I've already been to town got lab and back already. Hoping to get some quality 1 on 1 time with him today. I've felt so miserable we really haven't spent much time together other than watching tv or eating. Today I hope to play some board and/or card games with him , cook spaghetti dinner and peach dump cobbler ( he loves to cook ) , go thru snd pick out some photos to print for scrapbook ( I am terrible about only having my pics on my phone or computer ) watch him swim in the pool ( way to cold for me still brr ) , and whatever else we might get into. Oh yeah snd a nap for me somewhere in there ( I was up again most of the night - still got my days and night mixed up)

    Hugs all around

Patty, YEEHA, love to hear the joy in your words. Spending simple time with our kids is the best.

Chevy, sounds like you know my DH personally. He is fixed on, how the economy is going to crash, with a side of death. Arrrgggggg....

Ok, time for my rant/drama......turned 60 yesterday, no biggie.....woke up with some bumps on my belly, probably bug bites. I got a call from the skin Dr. The biopsy on arm is skin cancer, but the biopsy on the boob is benign. Funny, I do not have Cancer on the cancer boob. I get the keys at 12:00 to the new house. The movers come tomorrow to move all the furniture. Busy......busy.....

    Hello to all, welcome newbies....

Spook, I have wanted to ask you for a long time, how did your DH get the nickname, Eyeore?
