    ¡España! Have a wonderful time.

I am caught up in many end of year activities (yes, we're out on June 11). We had our 5th Annual Multicultural Family Night (parent run, but my "baby"), granddaughter's 3rd birthday, baby shower for a colleague and a thank you tea for our amazing parent volunteers today.

Today is also my younger dd's 25th birthday! It's very hard to believe it. We are taking her to San Francisco to see The Book of Mormon. Very excited, but I will be dog tired at work tomorrow. Can't wait as I've heard that it's very funny (and irreverent, so I know I'll like it).

I am planning a trip to Bahamas for end of June.  I wanted to have a dolphin encounter, so we were looking at Orlando, FL or Atlantis.  Orlando was cheaper, but I needed one resort that had everything so I can sleep in or take a nap.  We did make it a little cheaper by staying offsite, at the Comfort Inn Suites across the street, with full access to Atlantis pools, beaches and waterpark.  It was a tough decision because Atlantis is already a lot of walking from what I hear, and this adds a little more.  But the Atlantis room prices are so high, it was hard to justify.  Hope we made the right decision. Either way, I'm sure we will all have fun and relax.

ReadingMama, we took a cruise to the Bahamas last summer, first time I was ever there. Quite memorable. So exotic. Colors I've never seen before, so vivid.

We went to Atlantis and did one of the dolphin things and loved it. You made a good choice to save money, you are close enough across the street. I don't walk distances as well as I used to thanks to Arimidex, but hobbled along thru Atlantis and its well worth the effort.

They took photos of us with a dolphin. It was pricey to purchase, but they are some of the best photos of us ever, so I splurged and bought a thumb drive with all the photos and printed them at Walmart when I got home.

So happy you are going in June. ENJOY

Beautiful day here sunny and warm. Felt really good this morning so I went garage sailing, Not much that tempted me but did buy a cute little wooden end table for $7 it has some nice veneer work on it and a side drawer. looks good next to the sofa in the living room.

In Chicago for the weekend. Went to a wonderful concert at Symphony Hall tonight, and spent the day at The Institute of Art. Truly the best museum I've ever visited! If you like modern art and Impressionism, it's fantastic. I had no idea I was in for such a treat!

I have the good fortune to be going to France & Italy this week through a college humanities credit course that I work with. Very excited as I have never been to either location. I'm a little worried because it is very go, go, go the whole time, and my feet still have issues from the hand/foot syndrome. I couldn't let the opportunity pass though!

Have a fabulous trip. Spring is usually a lovely time in both countries, but take a small umbrella. Relax when you can and enjoy the wonderful food

We had a lovely weekend here. DH and I hiked about 3.5 miles of trails and my back never even twinged! On Sunday we walked around a neighborhood which has an outdoor music festival every year. Musicians play on frontporches and in all kinds of music! It's a lovely neighborhood and the magnolias and tulips were a great backdrop for the bands.

I am so surprised and grateful to feel this good. Only a few months ago I sat in DSW and cried because I needed boots and it hurt too much to try them on. Now I'm hiking for miles without pain. It is truely amazing and I feel very lucky to be where I am right now.

Sandilee - I love that museum. We were there last year, and I was disappointed that the Joseph Cornell area was under construction. I have a fondness for his assemblages. I need to go back.

No notes - your trip sounds wonderful...have a great time!

Fun and freedom from pain to everyone!

    Love reading all these entries!

Just booked a trip to Europe in July - Paris and Lourdes, France and Prague, Czech Republic. Can't wait! A few months ago, my husband went on a spiritual trip to Italy to visit various Saints with his parents and my Dad to pray for me. I couldn't go because there was no way I could have handled the flight and walking with my bone mets pain. So happy I feel so much better now!

JFL – Sounds like a dream trip. I'll be looking forward to hearing updates when the time comes.

Last weekend DH and I went with another couple on a trip to Pt. Pelee in Ontario for the annual bird migration. This is the "easy" trip that we planned so I would have something to look forward to during chemo.Pt. Pelee is the southernmost tip of Canada and the first land that birds see as they migrate across Lake Erie. Some of the birds we saw: Red-faced screech owl, Black & White Warbler, Chestnut Sided Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, Northern Water Thrush, Solitary Sandpiper, Kingbird…I could go on and on. We did a ton of walking (and standing) and I was exhausted. I fell asleep on the 2 hour ride home, and then slept about 10 hours that night, but it was worth it.

Here is a shot of a yellow warbler. They are very common, but I think they are very happy and photogenic!

Shutterbug, what a beautiful photo of the warbler; your birding excursion sounds fascinating. How cool to see such a large variety of birds out in nature; I might have to try that experience myself.

Tina, what a marvelous view; hope you are enjoying the vay-cay!

Also in Spain, criss-crossing in a way that Tina and I are never in the same place. Here is a small interior area of the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona lit with early morning light through the colored glass.

Tina and Susan, those are gorgeous pictures of Spain! Stunning.

Shutterbug, love the bird. Yellow and happy sums it up perfectly. I would have thought by the looks of it, that that is a rare bird.

Tina & susan - your pictures have made getting to Spain a little higher on my "living list".

I'm on my flight home from France and Italy, it was an absolutely exhausting and amazing time! The first pic is from the 2nd level of the Eiffel Tower. I tried to load a pic from Giverny in Monet's garden where he painted all of the water lilies works, but it was taking forever; so, I'll have to add that later.

Whoa, nbnotes, are you ever high! Glad you enjoyed your journey. I know what you mean about "exhausting and absolutely amazing." We just returned to Madrid from fabulous Grenada, where they were having record-breaking temps for May of 100+ degrees. We nevertheless tromped all over the Alhambra and Sacremonte, slathering ourselves with sunscreen, clamping on hats and pulling our out-of-shape bodies up steep hills and steps. Pant, pant, pant.

If you plan to visit Spain, I can give you good tips if you'd like. With the exception of selecting an astonishingly rotten (four-star!) hotel in Seville, a city where many of the people who deal with visitors seem less than civil, we have had an utterly grand time. Everywhere else people have been friendly and helpful, which really makes a difference in one's days.

Wending our way home Sunday. Sigh.

So nice and uplifting to read all the wonderful things you ladies are doing for fun! These part two weeks I got to attend my daughter's last two high school track invitationals before she graduates in June. Spent 9 hours outside yesterday at her District championships and came home a healthy shade of red and very proud of my daughter (and myself for lasting the entire day in the sun). It felt goooooood!!!!!!

We have a family vacation planned to Punta Cana the end of June with close friends . Looking forward to making memories.

I read a post on these boards that I'm trying to make my mantra, "Don't postpone joy."
