hey everyone, I'm in Mexico again with my 2 grown children. I have a gyn appt scheduled for when I get back. I managed to bruise my ribs the day we left so the warm air and water are therapeutic. Besides some bickering, we're having a wonderful time. Haha

Yesterday we went to Chichen Itza. I can't seem to post pics from my tablet so they'll come later. My DS is so interested in history. Our guide was very personable. Had a great day, went swimming in a cenote on the way back.

Kathy how scary to go for an appt and end up in hospital. Going to the cardiologist will help a lot. It took my aunt about two weeks to get the med combo right and then she started feeling better. (((Hugs))))

    Gorgeous Lisa!!!

Well, I am on a two week holiday from Femara as of today. We are trying to figure out what is causing my mega hot flashes and sweating incidences........Femara can and does cause this but I have been on it for five years and it is only now that they are really really bad so there are questions. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is just the Femara and not a progression :)

Our fund raiser for the Old Railway Station that we held last weekend was a huge success!!! We sold out of just about everything!! I baked seven dozen scones (biscuits) as well as two huge pots of Minestroni Soup. Other ladies did slices, damper and three other flavoured soups as well as a load of cookies. We raised almost $1000 and are very pleased with our efforts. It went so well that I think we will be repeating it sometime in the future.

    Take care all!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Those flowers are lovely Lisa, I'm glad you had your camera with you as well.....lol.

I started off with Arimadex but I had progression on it after only fifteen months so that one is no good, it's been scratched from the list of treatments. Hopefully this little break will help and allow me a lot longer on it.

hey all, I am home again. Had my uterine biopsy yesterday. Will have the ultra sound next week. I also saw my radiologist today and have been set free from her since she is cutting back her hours and I still will see my BS and MO. My bone density came back even worse with a very steady downhill slide. My PCP wants to start me on fosamax oral weekly. I am unsure about it. Am getting in touch with my MO to see what she thinks. Is there any experience any one would like to share with me here?

Lisa I want to go grocery shopping with you!!! Beautiful scenery. What kind of tree is that purple one?

chrissy, I hope the break is the trick! Good going on the fundraiser!

So my DD managed to lose the digital camera that I had bought especially for our trip. She left it in a bathroom for about 5 minutes and it was gone. She had a major meltdown! Do these "kids" ever grow up? So we lost some pictures but I had uploaded some to my phone and then just used my phone for the rest of the trip.

Welcome back The tree is a jacaranda Lovely to look at but dirty to own.

I lost my bone density on arimidex. I have used Fosamax for about a year then finished my 5 years on the arimidex, so I stopped. I keep my blood level of vitamin D3 level at 50 now. Seems to be holding.

    Good luck with the biopsy!

Oh, Mac, I hope everything is OK! Just tell yourself that if they want to discuss it on the phone (and the message wasn't "come in") it's probably not so bad.

Well crap, Nancy.  The least they could do would be to qualify the message, like say it's nothing to worry about or some such.  I'm hoping everything's fine and they just want to explain something.  Let us know soon!

    Lisa, those are beautiful flowers!

Nancy, keeping my fingers crossed that it's just a call to tell you all is well. Please don't let your mind take you to a dark place, try to wait and see what the news is.

    Keeping you in my thoughts.

thanks everyone, all good comments. And reassuring.

I hope they have some ideas about how to get me outta pain. I already have an appt with my PCP in the afternoon. It was the GYN office that called so I'll call first thing and let y'all know.

I've managed to distract myself by misplacing my cell phone, which had me searching for quite a while. Finally found it under the couch cushion. Then I couldn't find the dog. Ha ha, I had accidentally left her in the basement. So look now its time to go to bed.

Mac, Sweet dreams. I agree it's probably not serious or they would have asked you to come in.

So just got off the phone with nurse from GYN office. They want me to do a camera scan (can't remember the word she used) on my endometrial stripe. The path was inconclusive, but my stripe is larger than normal. Who knew I had a stripe. Except now I can feel it.

So I have a pre op appt on June 9th, since my doc is away for 2 weeks. oh yay! I asked how I might be able to make myself feel better, she suggested a hot bath. ha ha, doesn't that cure everything?

Maybe I'll ask about a break from my tamoxifen. How is your breaking working, Chrissy?

Just popping in to say hi to everyone. Hugs Nancy.

Now planning our trip this year. We are just going to North America probably in October so we can see the Fall. Nancy hope to visit your part of the world. Going at that time will allow us to be in Oakville for DGD's birthday and to experience Halloween.

    Big hugs to all.

The camera scan is called a hysteroscopy. I had it done years ago. They put me out, I woke up, no pain afterwards.

Don't worry about not knowing the name. When I went in for my preop before my mx the intern doing the med history asked about previous surgeries/procedures. He also didn't know what a hysteroscopy was so he wrote in my file "hysterectomy". Well, I must be Miracle Woman since I had 2 more kids after that. And when my med history was printed out recently it said "Total Hysterectomy 1991" an then "Salpingo-oopherectomy 2010". A total hysterectomy includes tubes and ovaries so I gues it took 19 years for them to grow back.

ha ha, Leah A real miracle woman having kids after that. I hope that intern is a bit more with it by now. Sometimes we have to teach them so much.

thanks for the info. The office is sending me some material on the procedure so I'll be brushing up on my medical acumen.

Alyson, it is beautiful here in this area during the fall. Maybe we'll get a chance to meet?

Nancy, I've been off the Femara for a week with one more to go. A small difference in the melting moments but not enough to crow about but I'm still hopeful.........lol.

I've had a couple of those procedures over the years and other than some wind pain after I would never have known anything was done. Sure hope you can get some pain relief happening in the interim.

chrissy, hope the improvement continues. I'm going to try to get in touch with my MO today.

ha ha I was wondering why I felt so "weird" this morning. I "forgot" to have a cup of coffee. Think I'll start my day over.

Forgetting coffee is a real sign you need coffee. I won't let DH drive until he's had 2 cups.

Hi Mostlymom, I usually prefer a cup of tea first thing but if I am driving long distance a cup of coffee is a must!.....lol

Winter has surely set in now and I am lighting the fire on a daily basis. Not much rain yet so the air is really cold which is playing havoc with my asthma, so much so that my doc has put me on Seratide as a preventative........gosh I hate that stuff!! It leaves my mouth so sore even after rinsing well. I've got to have my left thigh Xrayed as I have been having a fare bit of bone pain mid thigh so we are looking to see if there has been a progression ...........I promise to let you know when I have had it done and got the results.

Dinner time! We are having baked potato with cole slaw and sour cream with a nice piece of steak.......I think I'm hungry!!!

    Have a good one all!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy
