Hi sisters, I had a full body bone scan today. Nothing showed up except the sternum area, which we already knew about. I'm happy even though I'm still Stage IV. Every little step in right direction is a win!

CT scans tomorrow at 8:45 am. Hopefully after 10 months of taxol (3 weeks on 1 week off) will give me results that may change my tx. Kidneys have improved. That was the big problem in July 2014. 30 taxols and I am ready to move to easier Tx. Will get results Monday. See onc Tuesday I see scans as just part of being MBC. I pray for a good scan. TM's still in 400. Sigh.

Good for all of you with good scans. It is stressful but a necessary part of our protocol everyone hang in

Linda714, Penny, and Northtexas - so happy for you!

How did it go today Musiclover?  Hope you get great results too.

RonnieKay, I got a chuckle out of your "no politics today" comment.  I love politics and welcome thoughtful, informed discussions, but as that conversation was neither of those things, I am happy to say the tech and I stuck to the weather this time!

Good luck tomorrow Diana, sounds like you are more than ready for some good news and tx change.

    NT, Good news.

Diana, Mine was 8:45 this morning. Best wishes to you!

Jobur, I didn't cry this time so that was good, the last 2 times something set me off.  Now I just need to get the results and hopefully they will be good, fingers and toes crossed. I will post my news as soon as I get it.

So glad to get on hear and read so much good news! Keeping all in my thoughts!

Not a scan, but I have my 3month visit with tumor markers and liver enzymes being done tomorrow. Probably, I won't know anything until Monday. I'm feeling good; so, hopefully everything is still good…..just more nervous I think b/c this is the 2 year anniversary of NED. I'd appreciate your thoughts and/or prayers!

I don't have the results of my tumor markers yet, but regardless MO says it is time for a PTscan. It's been 8 months since the last, and she doesn't want to go more than about 9 months. I had a bone density test a few weeks ago which shows osteopenia, and I will be starting Zometa every 6 months. Anyone that has had it -- how long of a time does the infusion take?

nbnotes, the Zometa infusion should take about an hour.  If it's given in less you can get more ses.  Be sure to drink LOTS of water the day before and day of infusion.  It seems to make a big difference.  Hope you and NED have many more years together!

cjanet, my heart goes out to you.  The first days and months after a stage IV dx are rough.  I hope your scan gives you positive news, but even if it doesn't, there are lots of treatments for ER+/PR+ gals.  Things are not as bleak as they may appear to you now.  Just take it one day at a time.

Musiclover, I'm glad you were able to get through your scan with no tears this time.  I have shed a few in that lonely little room too.  Did you get your results yet?  This is the longest I have had to wait, been trying to keep my cool but it is always there in the back of my mind.  Tuesday is still a long ways away.

Diana, hope you have some nice diversions planned for the weekend to keep your mind off waiting.  Thinking of you, fingers crossed.

Blah, PET scan results won't be read until Monday morning. My oncologist wants to meet with me Monday at 9 am. Her assistant said she never meets that early with patients and wants to read the scan as she hasn't had a chance yet. I smell bullshit. Just tell me if I have mets all over, now I have to wait the entire weekend. I was a mess before, mainly feeling angry that I couldn't get any answer out of the assistant or the doctor. But maybe it's true. Maybe the scan just hasn't been read. Sigh. I'm a mess.

cja - I know the wait over a weekend is excruciating; sorry that you are dealing with that!

jobur - thank you for the info on zometa! I was warned it could make you feel like you have the flu so I really appreciate the tips to help combat that!

nbnotes - You probably know this already, but before starting Zometa treatments, a dental check up is advised - if there is major dental work to be done, it should be done before starting Zometa.

LindaE54 - Thank you for the reminder. My MO mentioned that I couldn't have any dental work a month on either side of it, but I hadn't though that I ought to go ahead and get a check as soon as I can. We're not going to do the infusion until June when I have my port flush.
