What are you doing for fun??

Caryn - what a beautiful granddaughter! She is adorable. There's nothing more fantastic than a 3 year old little girl, in my opinion. They know they're little girls at that age and they are just wonderful. And the cake is amazing! I want a Hello Kitty cake for my birthday! It's the big 60 this year.
NB Notes - wow! Good for you!
I'm not having fun today...I've just spent two days in a hearing as an expert witness for a very contentious project. Get to fly home tomorrow, then need to pack so we can move. But once we've moved, we'll have fun. A contractor I work with is keen to get his daughter out to our place (once we're moved) so she can look through the telescope. I think she's about 12 or so, and loves astronomy. So that will be fun! Always great to have young ones around. And I do kitten duty on Thursday. And really really fun is that Carpe Diem and her husband are in Wellington Thursday morning and we're going to hook up for coffee! Am quite excited to meet her. So..once I get home I'll have fun!
Hugs to all,
Terre

Caryn - She's adorable! I teach preschool, so three and four-year-olds have a special place in my heart. My preschool girls all love Hello Kitty too - great job on the cake!
Terre - It'd be great if you or Carpe Diem could post a pic of your get-together - would love to see it!
Hugs all around, Amy

love this topic. Always great to see people not just living but thriving and having fun. Although I am not there yet , it certainly gives me hope I will get there. Thanks for sharing , ladies
-
You will get there, Patty! Plan for it, it will happen!
-
Caryn, which cruise line are you taking in June? We are going too....maybe we are on the same cruise! We are on Norwegian
-
Hola! Buenas noches, señoras. We soon leave these shores for three weeks in Spain. Someone please reassure me that we won't need to know very much Spanish? The beginning of this message indicates the approximate extent of mine.
I have language books and CDs, but have not focused on them and I'm running out of time to study. Many other things are taking precedence. How do you say "Yikes!" in Spanish?
Getting a bit excited, but also anxious,
Tina

romansma,
Wouldn't that have been fun! We are going on Princess, however, since we really liked our last two cruises witth them and got a great fare and a good bit of on board credit. We have all of our excursions planned and are super excited as I bet you are too.
Caryn
-
I originally booked on Princess, then changed at the last minute for a better deal. We are taking my 11 yr old son, so needed a suite with a little space and saved a little on Norwegian. I wanted a little extra space with a balcony in case I wasn't feeling well or just tired and ended up spending more time there than I would normally. I need to get my butt in gear and book the excursions
-
awesome 3 cruises coming up . you go girls !!!!!! you are diong it! it is possible at stage IV even during treatment sometimes. so jealous but love living vicariously thru yall. thanks remember lots and lots of pics and details. totals forget about us a few days and focus on the now and sunshine.

Plan something fun today, Patty. Even if it's just going for ice cream. Makes all the difference! If I was close by, I'd come get you! I think I will take my own advice and get down to the pier today to watch the waves roll in. After being in the desert for a week, Im issuing my coastal perks. I have to file my taxes too, but won't let that get in the way of some fun!
-
I would love to go for ice cream today but scared to drive. would be driving my dhs truck. full size extended can 4 door big thing. last time i parked it directly against the pool with no room in between oops at least i set the brake. then i have to drive like 20-30 min one way to get ice cream at a drive thru way too exhuasted to get out of truck. still too weak and dizzy to be driving with other people on the road. lol
now yes you cound come pick me up if we lived closer and drive down to your pier to watch the waves. it sounds like a prescription to me. can me ride in a convertible top down, with the radio blaring? ahh sounds like fun guess ill stick to the ice cream in the fridge today. i think it is choc mint chip and when i opened it -lol it had exactly 1 teaspoon left in itl just my luck. lol
-
Time to call in a favor. Which friend has the day off? I'm sure they are all trying to figure out what they can do to help. Bet they'd be thrilled to learn all they need to do is come pick you up and drive you to Baskin Robbins or Cold Stone for a treat! Sounds like a plan!
-
trurth is i can think of a couple of people i know who would come and get me altthough most others are at work. but first i have to getup and fix my hair ( it so long and needs a cut color bad ) change clothes, makeup and then i am completly exhauseted again . ready for a nap lol thats pushing it . getting better everyday for sure. i did eat the last bite of icecream and found a half of frozen banana dipped in choc. set it out and have since eaten it. it was awesome and i didnt have to exhaust myselft. next step is def getting hair done. would be way easiear and less exhausting to fix. just have been in the hosp too much then in pain to even drean of going to the hairstylists. dh tried to pay our girl to come to my house to do my hair - we have known her for like 20 years- sure she will come but she has been on a cruise last 2 weeks. -
Patty.....you need a cool hat!
-
that might help
-
Patty - just get a bad hair day hat, skip the makeup, toss on some yoga pants and a tee shirt, and everyone will just assume you're treating yourself after the gym.
I'm off to Kitten Inn to do volunteer work today; swapped Thursday for Wednesday. Was hoping to get to meet up with one of the NZ women on the boards, but she's out of town. Oh well!
I did get to meet Carpe Diem and her husband when they were here on their curse around Australia and New Zealand. And they gave me the most adorable little rimu wood carved mouse. It sits on my desk and makes me think of them, which makes me smile!
Hugs to all,
Terre

My new fun. This horse belongs to my mom and is located a few hours away. My kids and I are taking lessons on a loaner horse. I've been on horses since I was a kid. Forgot about how much I love riding.
-
nice pic fuji. love to see us getting back to some kind of life. you go girl impressive and hopeful for all of us
-
I had an ice cream cone for you, Patty. The waves were beautiful.
-
Patty--I volunteer to have ice cream in your name
you hang on. You just do the best you can! We are here for you! Always praying!
Fuji--looking good on the horse! My horse foundered last yr so he has to wear a grazing muzzle or he will die. A month ago I couldn't get his girth on. He spent about 10 days on hay only and 10 days on grass with the muzzle and now I can get his girth on!! The kids and I brushed him and put the saddle on for a short pony ride
now to get shoes on him and a coggins pulled and I may take a little adventure on a trail ride!!
-
Yay Kjones! Silly boy. No more foundering. Hopefully he enjoys a good ride! 😊 -
K, I'm gonna take another one for the team, Patty......that's right, I will sacrifice and have another ice cream cone for you this weekend. I'm just that way!
-
romansma--you have always been such a good team player!!
-
My current fun is cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning during their playoff games. Unfortunately, game 1 last night did not end with a win; so, I hope tomorrow's game has a better outcome.
-
went for a Thai massage this morning. Princess is at her dads for the weekend so I decided it was time to spoil me.
Was beyond fabulous & I'm feeling so relaxed now. And I figure the zobone must be working as my ribs survived the pressure ;-)
-
I went to IKEA with some of my friends on Monday. Not dramatic FUN but everyday, laugh and enjoy day with my friends.
I sometimes push myself for days like this - it exhausted me but was SO worth it. What's the point of txs to keep us alive, after all, if we don't LIVE?
Leah
-
Leah, I agree! There are times I, too, may not feel like doing something but convince myself to make the effort and am always, glad I did. IKEA is a store that's easy to have fun in; my husband loves their shopping carts cuz all the wheels spin. Anywhere else, we always seem to get the shopping cart with a bum wheel. Lo
-
I sometimes think it's against the law to have shopping carts where all the wheels spin (unless it's IKEA!)
Leah
-
Hasta luego, amigas. I'm off to Spain.
Tina
-
Tina, have a wonderful time! Spain is beautiful.
Leah
