Anne, that is what we are here for -- in good times and bad -- letting you form your experiences by sharing.  We all become more human and I think feel more compassion and caring with life and its ups and downs.

And when we come to think of it, goodness is uneventful.
It does not flash, it glows. It is deep, quiet, and very simple.
It passes not with oratory, it is commonly foreign to riches,
nor does it often sit in the places of the mighty:  but may be
felt in the touch of a friendly hand or the look of a kindly eye.

Woopie Wahoo......did we ever get the snow.  7 to 10 inches Dh says and I believe it.  We got out and dug our way out to the dog pen and fed them --- then we moved what seemed like tons off the deck and shoved our long, long walk-way out to the parking area.  We still have a lot of shoveling to do.  I have the artificial sun on in my computer room here -- so feeling good that way.  Not looking forward to going back out.  Not sure if we will be able to get out today at all, but then save for the feral cats, there is little reason.

I got some groceries yesterday and had a pot of chili made for yesterday afternoon.  The leftovers will turn into chili mac which is a favorite of ours.  Have steel cut oat meal ready for breakfast today ---  so nothing is truly bad for us.  The township brought their snow plow out ????? no idea when, but they must not have realized our neighbors to the left had come out for the week-end.  They stopped plowing right at our drive-way.  We have to plow out to it and try to clean up the area where the town-ship moved the snow.  I'm just thinking --- wow !!!!  This late storm this yr. and I may have trouble for the first time since we have been home getting my car out.  I do think the snow is soft enough that if I can just get going --- I could run over the top of the snow ----  but since I would have to back out ---- hmmmm, I don't think I have any real maneuvering  room.

Fortunately, cats can in fact go a few days w/o eating if need be -- about 5 days to a wk. before you might have to really worry.  I will only be stranded for today.  I'm fairly certain by tomorrow --- we will be coming and going like always.  It is due to get warm enough to rain in a couple of days so this will not last that long I don't think -- just a mite troublesome while here.

I hope you are all safe and sound and can stay in if possible.

Thinking of you all and wishing you well.

    Blessings

HI ladies, Haven't been here for a while, as we were in Birmingham Al for my brothers wedding. His wife passed almost 2 years ago and he met a lady and had their wedding Sat.

While I was there I had abd cramps off and on, since Friday. When we got home , we took our dogsled to the Urgicare. Dr there spoke to us and sent us to the ER! After many hours and a CT they told me I had colitis and put me on Lviquin, which falls on the dangerous drug list> I didnt want to take it, they told me to take a dose there! Going to my primary this morning to see if he can prescribe an alternative If it isn't one thing this year, it's another.

Think the drug companies have the drs under their thumbs. Also prescribed Hydrocodone, which I said I didn't want or need! Have had that happen before too, never used it. They push that too easily. Both DH and I have had that prescribed before, too easily and routine.

Got about 6-8 inches of snow, the roads were awful last night, schools delayed again today. Another storm forecast for Tues!

    Stay warm, Jean

Jean, you're having more than your share of health challenges.  I didn't know about a dangerous drug list.  It's nice for your brother that he found a companion.

Blondie, yay for going home!  I hope you settle in comfortably after the long absence.

We had 1 1/2 in. of rain last night.  It's overcast so far this morning.  We're supposed to be in the 70's on M, T, and W and then have a 30 to 40 degree drop by Thursday.

We're having morning coffee and watching the local (New Orleans) news.  A dr. in nearby Covington was shot and killed by his wife.  I'm curious about the details but so far just a trailer across the bottom of the screen.  Years ago I was a patient of this dr.

Guess I will get some housework done today and make some turkey stock with the skeleton of the turkey I cooked yesterday for noon dinner at my mother's house..  I may have to send dh to the supermarket for some onions.

    Wishing everyone a good Monday.

"As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery... we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness." ~ Dalai Lama

Blondie, how fantastic that you will be home soon.  I'm thinking it is today since your post was 11 hrs. ago.  Anyway, that is just wonderful.  There really is nothing that compares much to the comfort of home.

Jean, you really are having one issue after the other.  I sure hope it all gets sorted out.  Hoping that Spring is going to help everyone and everything.  Hope I am right.  We are looking out at our snow and un-plowed parking area.  I told Dh not to bother the hours it would take to put the snow blade on the tractor.  It is going to be 50 in a couple of days.....and, I don't think we are going to actually keep getting snow -- this and anything later on is usually a sort of 'freak' storm.  No point in going through all of what it takes to put the snow blade on now.

Carole, I think when our weather warms we will get the rain you are having now.  I am so fortunate that Di was so kind as to send me the sunshine lights.  Had it on all of yesterday.  No sun, but there was in my office here.  We were outside a number of times pushing snow off the deck and clearing the long sidewalk from our kitchen door to the parking area in front.  Then on to town where we cleared paths so we/I could get to the feral cats.  Dh helped but then I helped him all day here.  Glad he did -- by the time we got to the 'cats' I was starting to wear out on shoveling and tossing snow.

Don't know if I mentioned here we have a snow cat.  One of the cats the neighbors ( thanks a bunch ) left when they moved just was jumping, crouching in the ruts and cavorting all over.  She seems to think it great sport to crouch down in a rut and jump at anything or anyone that happens by.  It was fun to watch her and made being out a lot more pleasant.

We have some sun outside which is really nice this morning.  I hope you are all able to have some too.  I'll be back later on.

    Blessings

    Jackie

Bonnets.... Maybe it's just me, but I also heard that magnesium was goof ror leg-cramps.... but for some reason, I break out in hives....

I had that rapid-heart-beat for about a year.... brought on by stress, but I know the caffiene I got, made it a lot worse.... Mine started with stress.... but then it really took a-hold, and took forEVER to calm down.... Hope they find a cause and a cure!

    Chevy,

Don't know what has made my tachy worse. Am laying off all caffiene again, tried it a few years ago and had no effect, but Ill try anything at this point.

Roads a lot better today, but tomorrow night another round, snow, ice then rain.

Went to my primary today , who put me on a Penicillen . Hopefully no SE's except maybe diarrhea. Adding some bland foods to the liquid diet I've been on.No appts til Friday, so I can be grounded if necessary.

Jean, I hope you are feeling better and you can find out what caused all your discomfort.

Carolehalst, that was a pretty good rainfall. We are to have freezing rain tonight into the morning. It will make for a fun drive into work.

Today is 5 years ned. Today five years ago I was called and informed I had tested positive for BC. I see my onc. next month and pd the end of this month. In a way I am nervous about not taking femara anymore and on the other hand excited about not taking femara anymore.Kind of silly? That year we were told on my birthday and a week later on our anniversary we were sitting in the oncologist office deciding what we would do.

I talked with all our boys and grandchildren today and one son that lives close to us stopped by for the evening. Some that live an hour away will be in this weekend.

Hoping everyone has a good week and weather gets warmer

It’s simple things, like a glowing sunset, the sound of a running stream
or the fresh smell in a meadow that cause us to pause and marvel
at the wonder of life, to contemplate its meaning and significance.
Who can hold an autumn leaf in their hand, or sift the warm white sand
on the beach, and not wonder at the Creator of it all?

I'd like to add my congratulations, Termite.  It's fantastic to reach the good milestones -- even that of being able to be off Femara.  We have learned to sort of count on  some of those milestones -- since we are not totally sure if those things we do ARE the ones that got us to where we are.  I do recall ( its been a good while now ) that I felt some apprehension in giving up my Anastrozole.  I really, really needed too -- the se of my getting angry really quickly had kicked in big time -- but it was it seemed my Insurance policy that I was ACTIVELY doing something to ward off bad possibilities.

Once you have adjusted you do begin to realize that life is what it is -- and though a medication has provided some small assurance --- if you are meant to be here you will be and it will not be dependent all that much on a pill.  Not meaning that we shouldn't avail ourselves of these aides -- but  that we can stand on our own again when the time is right.

Oh yikes -- we are getting our rain.  Will get up to 50 or so today --- but that won't last.  I think from the sound of it we could get another few inches of snow -- though the warm rain will melt some off that is here.  Don't really know how much.  Hmmm, will I regret telling Dh not to spend the hours it takes to put the snow blade on the tractore.  Sigh !!! We will just have to plow through I think -- no matter what.

Hope you are all going to have a good day --- I'm starting to YEARN big time for Spring.  This is all very tiresome, but likely a great part of the global warming issues.  Fingers crossed for all of us.

    Blessings

    Happy Birthday Paula!

And Congratulations to YOU Termite! Every day IS worth celebrating...!

Just try that Bonnets! Maybe for at least a month.... I started drinking de-caf ONLY when I was going through that..... same with Chocolate, and sweets.. anything that normally gives you an insulin rush....

I still drink De-caf in the mornings, but I'll get a regular iced Starbucks when we go out....and I only have problems when I eat a little ice-cream too soon to going to bed..... what did I just say? I MEANT, I can't eat sweet things before I go to bed. YOU guys know what I mean......

Hi Jackie..... snow again for today and tomorrow..... But we set the clocks UP this weekend? That means Spring is really on it's way.... so they say.....

We are having some rain earlier which has turned into really heavy mist with fog.  Problem will be the night time temps.  May leave ice on some of our country roads.  We won't know much until the morning.  I did not have to go to work today -- but will tomorrow.  Don't know if I'll have two or three days in a row again this week or not.

Whatever  --  we get what comes.  I think it will get spooky out later when the fog gets heavier.  I sort of like that but only if I don't have to go anywhere.

Anyway, I'll catch you all later.

Congrats on your 5 year mark Termite.

    Happy birthday Paula.

Blondie, know you're glad to be home. No that's not the way to get taken care of! Hopefully if I ever or when I need it my DIL will help out. No kids around here.

Chevy, tried that for 2 years, no caffiene. Didn't do a thing, but I'm being good for a while. MIss my tea and my chocolate. Decafe tea I really don't care for. I'm a tea tea person, my DH does the fruity ones and green teas , not on my Coumadin!

Snowing here since about 3PM. Supposed to turn to ice, then more snow Wed. into Thurs. Yikes! Hope the power stays on.

Went to the gastro Dr. this afternoon had the runs bad all morning, probably from the type of Penicillen I'm on. Nothing new there, basically approved of the treatment I'm on. Pain is almost gone.

Glad to be home but after the last 2 trip I'm almost afraid to travel. We really enjoy it, but my medical problems seem to be cropping up when we are away. Also you have drs who don't know you!

    Have a good night. Jean

Nature is another important aspect of nourishing the soul.  After a hike in the mountains where we live, for instance, I feel a remarkable sense of gratitude and awe.  My mind quiets down and allows me to see more clearly the beauty of creation.  And through that gratitude, the beauty of the universe is reflected back to the Creator.  -Joan Borysenko

EYE, or I or me ---- more snow three inches or so expected to start shortly.  Later on --- week-end 60 degrees -- go figure.

Back later, it's an early work morning today.

    Blessings
