Whoopie Pies!!
-
Wow! is that a plate of them in your kitchen? is that ice cream? i think I would weigh 250 at your house if i lived there!
-
Whoopie pies are so awesome. I think I gained a few pounds just looking at the picture.
-
hahahaha. No TB - they don't last long enough to be put on a plate in my house. I live with two very hungry men, remember? hahaha
hahahaha Jo!! See what I'm up against??? I'm fighting a losing battle!
-

-
Good morning Goddesses,
Kracker, Yes, I'm sure my DD would love to have your recipe. Please post!
GMA, It's so nice to see that big smile on your face! He looks like a real sweetheart. I'm so happy for you!!
Thinking of you Ducky....hope all is well with you!!
-
Slow.. Those Whoopie Pies look so delicious !! Just looked the recipe up and going to try and make them soon..I've never heard of a Whoopie Pie before.. hmm..this thread is not only supportive and entertaining... It's educational as well.!! 😃
Gma.. That fur baby has certainly found a new happy home. !! Looking good !
-
Gma, you look soooo happy with your new furbaby. Congratulations!!! -
Kinda funny in that picture - he was sniffing my ear just before.. I don't even let DH do that it tickles... DH and I are sitting on our sofa and Dozer is sleeping between us his head on my hip. We left him home alone while going to church - first day here alone - No potty spots and he was on his bed waiting for us to come home ... No issues whatsoever. I am used to small/medium dogs. Dozer is definitely NOT a small dog. Hubby and I both agreed we will treat this one differently and try to keep his manners. not sure what is going to happen. He seems well mannered and smart.
-
I get them at a farmer's market down in Bird in Hand on our way to Gettysburg and Maryland.
-
He's such a good boy GMA. So nice when you can leave them alone right at the beginning. He sounds like a good fit for you both.
Lucy, those whoopie pies ARE delicious. He mad apple turnovers the day before. I think he's secretly trying to keep me plump!! Even with all of his baking and cooking, I still managed to lose 15 pounds. Only 45 more to go to get back to my old weight before diagnosis. I can't exercise right now, but I still try and walk around the house when I can. It's coming off slowly, but at least it's coming off - can't ask for more that that!
-
tx Mommy
But I don't live anywhere near that place
Don't even no where it is
Ducky must no...im a foreigner here...although I did have a summer house 40 yrs.ago in a little town of Beach Lake...
-
It's in Amish Country, FK
-
Its in Pa......not too far from Lancaster.........I use to pass there on the way to Franklin and Marshall college to watch my 2 grandsons play football.....yes itis very Amish..
-
bet it hours away
I knew Ducky would no where it was
I guess I'm not goin there any time soon
-
Yea FK......it is closer to me then you.......still not around the corner......about 1 1/2 hours if you don't get traffic.......quaint area.....good restaurants with "home town cooking".......comfort type food........actually there is place in the Lancaster area called Shady Maple.......the food is fantastic.
It is a smorgesboard type of place, (which I am not crazy about), but this place is great....and I mean great.......the choices are amazing......anything you could possibly want to eat......everything from a good steak to fabulous desserts, and anything in between...............anyone in that area.......check it out.........
-
Another place that I love in Amish Country is Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, PA. I get pepper relish for my house and my stepdad and jams for us, and no sugar Apple Butter for my mom there.
-
Oh yea, they do know all about cooking...........
-
DUcky and Mommy.. ALL that talk of food.. You girls are making me hungry !! It's 4am here.. I can't sleep , and for some strange reason I really feel like I that 'good steak " you were talking about Ducky ..which is strange at this time of the morning.!!
Slow.. You have done well to loose the weight, especially not being able to exercise.. When do you have your appointments for the pain management ? I so hope they can come up with a good plan for you.. Yep... Im sold.. I need to make those Whoopie Pies.. Even the name of them tickles my fancy 😃 ..Makes me think.of a Whoopee Cushion ☺
Ugh ..I have developed terrible anxiety (out of the blue ) over the last couple of days ..I am having the fear I felt like when I was first diagnosed , and I can't push it away .Even worrying about my tests at my yearly check up time ...and it's not until August. !! Crap I'll be a wreck if I worry between now and then !! Maybe lack of sleep is adding to the problem .
.
-
lol
Sitting here waiting for the white crap to start falling again! Winter sucks!
-
We r getting w what they are calling the worse storm this year
-
Lucy same here......I have been up since 3:30am.....I get anxiety too.....last week I woke up at 3am went to the bathroom, then came back and got that feeling I got when I had my heart attack.....but it is not easy to tell that from anxiety.....so you get the shit scared out of you, and wonder if you should call 911 to be sure, or just lay there and hope for the best.......it finaly passed, and I fell back to sleep at 5am.
I am so tired of this bullshit.......the mind can do horrible things to you............I go to bed late and it still doesn't matter......itisn't every night.....but when it happens it is awful.....
We had ice sleet and freezing rain a while ago, then all rain and a lot of it..........turning to snow tomorrow night and they are saying 4 to 8 inches more or less depending on how soon the cold air comes in........me I call it them covering their asses.............oh well......looks like its a few days inside......gotta love that...........sitting here by yourself........ugh........

When I visited my friend in Philly in 2013, she took me up to Amish country. We ate at a nice buffet, but I can't remember the name of the place. Then we went to this big indoor shopping mall (I think it was at Bird-In-Hand) where there were all these stalls and families sold their cooking or sewing. It was really great. I bought a nice hand made cloth purse there and had some great food.I feel so bad for you all with this horrible weather. I know you can't wait for it to be over. Enough already!!
Anxiety sucks,,, and not being able to sleep. I hate laying there, tossing and turning,,, mind goes in 50 different directions. NO fun.
-
My friend went to NY to visit her first granddaughter that was born and tried to get home sunday - with all the delays on both ends, she finally made it home this morning. I felt so bad for her.
