Kim, I was on Gabapentin and that didn't work so then I was on Neurontin and that didn't work. So then I was on cymbalta which is supposed to work for it, that made me happy and really sleepy but didn't work on my feet. My feet still hurt!!!! Although not like they did. I can't do everything I used to but always have discomfort. At this point I'm scared it's permanent. I know it can take a year or more so I still have hope.

made it back from my three month check and still all clear. I had a X-ray and ultrasound along with blood work. Met with MD's reconstruction doctor and I'll be having surgery in late May early June when school gets out. I just can't take off work anymore. Here is the low down on recon:

I will have to have a Lat Flap no way around it. But, they will go in from the existing scar in the front by using a DaVinci robot to harvest the Lat muscle. No spare skin needed, so no cut on the back. I'll be in the hospital 3-4 days. This procedure is very new and I am nervous, but I gotta go for it. Kind of neat too!:)

Michelle- big hugs!!! I really wish there was something I could do other than pray and send love your way.

    Barbara- been thinking of you!

AAAAHHHHHHH I had my first mammo since this shit show all began, I had an appt on Friday, and I see my MO this week to hear the results *barf* on a side note I feel great, and am enjoying life again, well as best as I can. I have days where the "c" consumes my thoughts and I have days that I dont even think about it.

Michelle this just all sucks, I hope its getting better.

DJJ - GAWD !!! I hear ya on the lash situation mine come and go quite frequently it seems. As for the period mine has been back for sometime and it effing sucks, that was one thing I could have gone without for sure.

Holly if I had an option of a full hysterectomy I'm pretty sure I would do it.

Robin - I feel like I missed something along the way, but I pray all is well with your tests

I am one week into my biology class and am having a great time, hubby helps me every nite by quizzing me, which seems to be proving well I had my first test on Friday and aced it 52/52 super proud of myself.

Tamoxifen people ...??? are you experiencing vaginal discharge..?

Lisa - did you say you are on metformin for TNBC?? I am only on the tamoxifen because of that tiny slightly positive estrogen receptor.

Well ladies this time last year we were all feeling about as horrible as we could while we all adjusted to the chemo life, and we all went through the hair loss together, all the SE's together, my goodness I dont know what I would have done without all of you. Look where we are now.

Michele and robin,, how are you? How are you healing jb

Kimie, good luck with dr appt, and kimie and DJJ, my lashes also disappear frequently as well. What a pain. Dj, are you stil, using latisse, I guess it doesn't help with the shedding sequence.(also I have no arm pit hair and have lost pubic hair again and those 2 areas don't seem like they are coming back)

Great with the bio class kimie. Yes I'm taking metformin. There were no positive receptor hormone cells in my pathology, fully negative. Metformin helps to decrease recurrences in tnbc. There's lots of info on it on the TN thread

DJJ, I started tumeric/curcumin supplement afew mo this ago and I don't know for sure but my foot/feet discomfort has decreased. Helps decrease inflammation. Also started glucosamine/chondrointin a little while after.

Jodi, so glad to hear yiur tests were clear. Now you just have to get through the school year and that should got fast considering how busy you a are with school and kids etc

1 yr ago on jan 13 was my first AC infusion! Wow seems like ages ago! So much has happened. Thank you girls for helping me through it all. And you continuento help.

And marriage situation is better. Thank you all for your helpful insights. We /I am going to really try to make this work. So many ups and downs emotionally for me, menopause, and BC roller coaster is like puberty, gawd!

MICHELLE!!!!!!WTF! I also get blisters from the adhesive on my breast procedure, usually the ends of the steri strips, I think from it pulling on the skin. Don't get it anywhere else. Your antibiotics should take care of it, and you should be done with it soon, right? Wow, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Complain, rant, rave, lean on us, we can take it

Forgot to mention that my chest ct scan came back provisionally without major concerns, no mass or anything but nurse said he'd go over it with me in more detail at follow up visit this thurs. So I don't know if there is something causing these sx or not. I'm kind of getting used to this dry hacky cough and I thinkit's actually slowly getting better

kimie, hoping you get the all clear when you see MO this week.

Robin, how are you doing? Been thinking about you.

Michelle, wow...hoping you get better soon!

Lisa, hope all works out for you. Going through major life events is hard, even in the best of relationships.

Barbara, I hope you are doing okay~

    Stay warm ladies!

Michelle, Holy Mother !#!#!#ing, WTF, bleep, bleeeeep, bleeep. ENOUGH! I'm so sorry. Big hugs coming your way.

Lisa, So happy your scans came back with no concerns!!!!! I stopped using Latisse because it's not doing any good when every 3 months my eyelashes thin. I started taking glucosamine/chondrointin about a month ago and will give the tumeric/curcumin a try. I saw my General Practitioner today about my hip. She said it sounds like Bursitis and doesn't want to have me do an MRI just yet because I already glow in the dark :-) I start physical therapy Thursday. She also wants me to start acupuncture a few weeks after my last Herceptin (January 23rd). She thinks it will help will my body recovering from the body aches that Herceptin causes and will also help with the inflamation in my hip.

Jodi, So glad your tests came back good. Woohoo!

Kimmie, YAY on the bio class. So proud of you!

Michelle- I am allergic to that damn sticky stuff on medical tape! It has a real name, and they have it on my chart. I am praying for you sister!! I know I speak for all of us here, we are cheering for you and so ready for you to just get to be left alone! No more pokes well at least for a little while. Hugs times 100!

Thanks all for the congrats. Now my eyes are blurring on me. Doctor said chemo can speed up eye issues. Well I tirned 40 in November, so tick toc! They also said that your body could need 18 months to 2 years to recoup from chemo so my sight could get better. Or worse since I'm aging lol! I was like- ok. Lol!!!

Kimie-great job! Happy classes are going so well!

Michelle-yikes! I have a reaction to bandages and tape, hives not blisters. Looks like Murphy and his law are swapping houses. I hope they are able to stop the snowball effect. Hugs!

Lisa-happy things are going better. It is so hard to figure out emotions these days. I am glad you are trying to find your way.

Jodi-awesome news on your tests. I have been following on Facebook. Did you happen to have a radiation tech named Joel (pronounced Joe El)? He was my daughter's roommate for a couple months, when she briefly moved to Houston.

I had my tumor markers drawn on Friday. They called with the results today, but I am not really sure what she said. My liver function was also tested and my counts are still slightly elevated. I meet with my MO this upcoming Friday so I will go over all that with him. My ultrasound is tomorrow and if the radiologist sees anything worth a biopsy, I will return Wednesday afternoon for a fine needle biopsy. At least my echo came back with good results

Hi ladies - I have been reading your posts, but haven't had time to reply. Crazy couple of weeks. My niece is going through a nasty custody battle and I had to supervise her parenting time. Court prep and then court yesterday. Started my Triumph exercise class this week and love it. We have been doing a lot of work on posture and stretching. Stretching feels so good, I really need to start my bc yoga cd. I have my next checkup with my MO next week, hate it, hate it, hate it. My mom's best friend, who is like an aunt to me, is battling lung cancer and has a PET Scan and appointment on Weds., I have offered to go with her. Not looking forward to going with her, as we all know, it's either good news or bad news. That said, I have been blessed to have our group and such a wonderful support system, I want to start reaching out and giving back......

Robin - Thank God! So glad to hear your good report.

Michelle - I haven't been on fb lately..... Last I saw you had that horrible bandage reaction.....WTF. I hope that all the crap you have gone through over the past few weeks is now behind you and that you are on the mend.

Jbok & DJJ - I passed the drug info unto Wynonna. Thanks, she is going to start acupuncture today.

Jodi - Great news, glad to hear your good report. Unfortunately once we turn 40 our eyes start going to shit.... don't know if we can blame it on the chemo. Dry eyes, I get them a lot during the winter.

Lisa - Sending healing prayers your way. Keep us posted.

    Have a great day ladies,

    Kim

Robin, so happy to hear your B9 results. I will think of you during our Bingo fundraiser for Relay for Life when ever they pull that ball.

Kim &Jodi glad for your Neg results also.

Michelle, I really hope the infection is cleared up and your poor arm skin survived.

I am back at work, started back at the gym between lawyers, accountant and broker visits. So much to do to change from joint owned to single owned stuff and transferring his IRA etc. Going out at least once a week with friends or coworkers Today getting a massage using a GC that my office staff gave me for Christmas. Nights are still long though. I weaned myself off the Ativan just using 3 mg melatonin now. I wake up more at night but I am able to get back to sleep. Come spring I will wean myself off the lexapro.

Treating myself to Juvaderm for the lines around my mouth next week. Appointment with PS for that and evaluation of evening out boob sizes. One is a B and one a C. Not sure I will do anything about that until I lose another 30 lbs. by then I t will be an A and B

    Everyone keep warm and dry.

just saw pulmonologist for follow up of ct scan. Was already told no embolism or mass...or cancer. He showed me the ct scan and it showed slight inflammation on L side right where radiation was given. Pulmonary pneumonitis (holli!) but mild. That's the cause of this hacking dry cough and also slight pressure feeling on L side of chest and occasional sob. It should get better he said. As long as I know it's nothing really serious. He said another ct scan in 6 months and he'd hope that area was gone.

Nice to hear from you Kim and barb and Jeanette! I've/we've missed you

Lisa- so glad to hear it was good ( although annoying ) news!

Just returned from my first solid week long business trip for a conference. I was so disheartened when I tried on work clothes that I hadn't wore in a year to see my ass has gotten so much larger!!! I know I have to give myself a break but it was really upsetting to see all my colleagues and feel so "big". But despite my angst, Everyone was very kind and happy to see me. I even landed a promotion!

    Hi ladies -

Barbara - I am glad to hear that you are doing something for yourself. Let us know how you like the juvederm. I need to schedule a botox appt. Is that pretty much the same thing?

Jodi - Hoping Lulu's ear tubes work out for her this time. By the way, following your posts on fb, your hair is getting long..... I had mine trimmed a couple of weeks ago. My curls are starting to straighten and I am now thinking that I am going to let my hair grow out. I was going to keep it short, but I am already missing the wavy hair.

Jbok - Promotion..... awesome. My weight has always been a battle for me. I just wish that the pounds would drop as fast as they come on.

Kimmie - Nursing school is going to be challenging, but you have what it takes.... Best of luck on your next test.

Lisa - Great article. I bet you are getting so strong...... You go girl!

Robin - This auto correct on my laptop wants to change herceptin to prescription..... 2 more, so glad to hear that you are almost finished with this.....

I have labs today and my 4 mo with mo on Thursday. Stressed..... I have been really bad about my food choices and have been drinking too much red wine lately. I have over indulged the months of December and January. Not everyday.... I like to go into my appointments feeling like I have done everything right, but this isn't the case this time. Oh well, may the grace of God cover my bad choices.

    Have a nice day ladies,

    Kim

Kim, Juvaderm is a filler to plump the creases where Botox paralyses the muscle to reduce lines. BTW you are fine to overindulge every once in a while, you have to live life to the fullest. I need to watch the wine also, I refuse to become one of those widowed women who drink themselves to sleep at night. One is usually my limit, occ two if I am out for dinner.

Lisa nice article about you and yoga.

    JB. Great about the promotion.

I hope we all get to continue posting negative test results for a long time.
