Hey ladies!! I believe I have Petechiae on my lower legs. Anyone had this before and could it be a sign of recurrence? I read (I know...stay off google) that it could signal leukemia. So I'm a little stressed. I just noticed it this afternoon.

    Thank you.

Holli - I just looked up Petechiae on Wikipedia. It can be caused by a lot of different things......I would think that with all the tests you have gone through lately, the doctors would have detected leukemia. Stay off of Google. Heck, I don't even like to read the list of potential side effects from my medications. I will be praying for you, sending a hug your way.

Lisa - Great articles, I forgot about this magazine. Thanks for sharing.

I agree.....Holli stay off the internet! step back....come on....take your hands off the keyboard......that a girl.....now breathe.  There, feel better? :)

You are ok....believe that.  Like Kim said, Leukemia doesn't just show up instantly (trust me, i know...my mom had leukemia)  Your blood counts would have been off for quite some time now.

Have you been doing any different exercises lately? Lunges? squats? crossing your legs? sitting for a long period of time in a certain position? many things can cause it.....

hang in there my friend....we are all in your pocket.

love y'all!! You're both making me smile! It is probably exercise induced. Since I've been working out lately. But I'm going to my PC this afternoon to get some blood work done. It's been a while since I've had any.

    I'll let y'all know.

Just had blood work drawn... Let the waiting begin... Should get results in 24-48 hours. Probably nothing. But of course I said that when my "clogged milk duct" wasn't going away :0)...

UGH!! I do NOT want to be the one to mess up - "no set backs in February"

ladies first my good news. My little dog, Moki, had an ultrasound yesterday after 5 out of 6 rounds of IV chemo. Her bladder tumor was not visible AT ALL. Remission, I hope, yeah. Of course this was at the local vets, she will get a more complex US done the end of Feb at the oncology vet. Not a cure with this cancer but I hope that means many more months of good quality life for her. My goal is the whole of 2015 for her to be healthy.

Like her Mom she has tolerated the chemo well. With things settling down I have totally weaned off my Ativan at night, none for the past 3 weeks., and taking half the lexapro for the month of Feb and plan on stopping in March. I may then try low dose Effexor just for the hot flushes. Still getting them 6-10 times a day. FRiends still keeping me busy. Going for some additional Juvaderm tomorrow to fill out the creases a bit more. Like it so far.

Michelle hope things are better for you. Love the photos.

DJJ yeah no more Herceptin. What a great party you had and deserved. Nice to put a face and body to Rock Hard Guy. Looks like a keeper.

Oranje. Love your big party also. Both you and DJJ looked great and Sexy in your dresses.

Lisa and Hollie hope the lungs continue to improve. Holli hope you blood work comes back ok and the leg spots are nothing.

Kimie and Lisa hope you not buried in snow. We have had enough and luckily the bigger storms seemed to just clip us. Still a good 6-8 inches on the ground.

Kimie. Great about your career choice. Ging through this will make you a compassionate nurse..za za za what a photo.

Robin yeah to you also on finishing Herceptin. Give your dogs hugs from Moki and me.

Jeanette. What a wonder spokeswoman you have become with Sassey Head.

Kim when I go visit my son in the Bay Area some time we will have to try to get together. Love FEBRUARY NO SET BACK MONTH.

Jodi. Hope Lulu is doing better.

Keepthefaith how are things going. Have not heard much from you.

Sorry if I missed anyone else.

Barbara- so happy Moki is doing well. How are you?

Ladies - here is my blog post. Got good news in there...

    ------------------------------

    Good news and Praise X2

posted by Holli on Wednesday, February 4, 2015

    Two praises for today!!

My blood tests were normal. Praise God. Just need to figure out why I'm so tired and have these broken capillaries.

I didn't say this before, but I was petrified I had Leukemia. I hear these fears are normal and diminish after time... The fear that any little bump, bruise, or ache is the cancer coming back...

    But enough of that...

    Super Awesome News coming up....

    Get ready...

    I'm going to Hawaii!!

I applied back in August through an organization called "athletes 4 cancer" to attend a camp for cancer survivors ages 18-40 in Hawaii. I found out tonight that I was chosen to go.

    *******One week free in Hawaii******

One week to focus on me. One week to spend time with 15 other young survivors (age 18-40) of all types of cancer. One week to heal emotionally and spiritually. One week to spend in paradise to connect with nature and My Heavenly Father and Almighty God. One week to (despite my scars and body distortions) become whole again. To become whole again, not just for me but for my family and all those I love.

The catch is I have to get myself there and back.

I know God is faithful. If it was in His will to allow me to be chosen for this experience then I know it will be in His will to allow me to get there (and oh yeah... Back home again :0).

I feel selfish being so excited to be going by myself though. I will miss Ronnie and my babies so much. My next post I will share with everyone why I applied and hopefully shed more light on why I want to go.

    Aloha!!

    Holli, Whoo-hoo!!!

Barbara, good to hear from you. I'm glad things are going okay and happy to hear Moki's good news!

Love the photos and DJJ, you and RHCG make a great couple:)

Lisa, I hope you and Hubby are doing well.

The past few weeks have been good for me. I really feel like the dark cloud has finally fully lifted and I am feeling motivated and much more energetic than I have in a long time. My MO said it would take as long to recover as it was for TX and she was spot on. Still forgetful sometimes, but hey, I am almost 60 yo.

Amen to February! We've got this!

Hollie, what a fun time that will be in Hawaii. When is the trip. I applied for Casting for Recovery. A fly fishing weekend for BC survivors. It is help all over the US. My area is in the PA Poconos only 90 minutes away. A gal in my BC support group went last summer after applying for 3 years. She said it was wonderful. I am doing OK. Better then I expected to be. Friends have been great. I am going to the Japanese Habachi restaurant tonight with a friend and her husband. My book club is meeting at my house on Tue so I will be spending the weekend picking up the LR, kitchen and dining rooms. I plan on dumping all the stuff I pick up in the back bedroom.

Keepthefaith - so happy you are feeling like you again. I cringe to think I will turn 61 in a few weeks. Don't feel like it, especially after my second Juvadern treatment today. LOL. Even ordered new glasses with some bling after seeing the eye Doc today. This is the year of ME, as it should be for all the rest of you.

Last month was not good on my weight loss I used my grief as an excuse to eat all the goodies people brought. Eating half my dinner tonight and bring half home for tomorrow. Hope you get back on track Michelle, you had enough on your plate to deserve to forget about the diet for a while. I always thought I could be a very happy fat person and a miserable thin one. Right now in between.

    Weight. Ugh

I did fine through chemo and rads. Started tamoxifen in August and this weight ceeped in and hangs on! Doc warned me about this. To make matters worse, It all sits in my ass! My upper arms are fleshy and flaccid. I am very gentle with arm excercise because I am concerned about triggered LE. V

    Hi ladies -

Holli - Congratulations on the good medical results and also getting into the camp in Hawaii. What month do you go?

Barbara - You sound great. You are one busy lady. Glad Moki is doing well.

I started my Triumph workout class for cancer survivors a few weeks ago. I love it and already feel much stronger. However, I stepped on the scale and gained 5 pounds..... WTF.... I don't know if it's muscle, the Arimidex (Started that last week), or eating too much. I need to reevaluate... Oh I also started the effexor low dose at night for hot flashes. I am liking it so far.

    Hugs to you all,

    Kim

Great article, Lisa. Thanks for sharing! I'm a work in progress, but I feel like I've made some important changes.

Funny story: A friend on FB's' daughter got her a limo ride for her 60th birthday. They were going to lunch and yard sales. The driver said it was a first....It wasn't just a limo, it was a white limo that was 'wrapped/painted' and said "it's a girl thang" with flowers, pink, etc. Her Mom had no idea and had a blast! Daughter posted: "you only live once, people. And if you do it right, that's enough." Smart girl!

Kim, Jbok and whomever else mentioned weight gain: The pounds are slowly creeping up on me also and I hate it. I will need to amp up my activity, I guess. I think Tam is the culprit...annoying SE's.

Barbara, Amen to the year of ME! You go girl:).

I hope you ladies have an awesome Sunday~

    ((HUGS))

    hi ladies!

Love hearing all the uplifting news. LuLu did great with her tubes and adenoids surgery! Praying she doesn't get sick as much anymore.

I have a quick question about side effects either from chemo or hormone blockers. This week I have been very tired. Yes Lulu had surgery at 5 am, but I was wiped all week it seemed. I read up and saw where it could be side effects. Anyone else getting tired or have aches
