THE WAY WE WERE......LOOKING BACK IS FUN

Remember these babies? Bolo bat is what we called them!
-
I remember those April!
I also remember whacking myself in the face with the ball a few times.
-
I remember wrapping the rubber string around my neck, and almost putting my eye out with the ball.......LMAO......
-
Remember this......when my kids were little I let them put this in their kiddy pool......forgot and left it outside and ran in to stir the pot of gravy......well they dumped the whole box in the pool....turned on the hose, and we had "suds" from my back yard all the way down the alley to the next street....LOL
-
Wow. I haven't seen that in a long time. I loved bubbles.
-
always a favorite:
Loved opening a new canister
-
Oh I loved playdoh. A little too much I'm afraid.
It looked so good when I was a kid, I used to eat it.
Probably contributed to the big "C".
-
My mother made homemade clay with flour & salt & water before there was Playdoh. She always made a big batch when we were sick and we played w/it on a bread board w/rolling pins, cookie cuttters, etc. Must have been a pain in the neck to clean up our beds.
-
MinusTwo....your Mom sounds wonderful. Such fun memories!!
-
Oh my God, I wasn't the only one that ate the stuff!
-
hahahaha. Thanks Monis! I feel so much better now!!
-
Yummmm, but a little salty if I remember correctly :-)
-
lol Rocky!
-
I ate the paste we used in grammar school....if memory serves, it tasted kind of "minty" LOL!
-
Oh April - I remember that white paste. Not sure I like the memory of the taste but I'm fasting for a colonoscopy tomorrow and I'm really hungry so... PlayDoh, paste, mud...bring it on.
-
Ouch... I have to schedule my first colonoscopy soon. You'd think after dealing with chemo and rads I could surely deal with someone peaking up there, but I'm in no hurry to schedule that appointment. Think I'd rather nibble on PlayDoh :-).
-
Minus Two: I'm fasting for a colonoscopy tomorrow. I dread the next 24 hours. Hope yours is easy and get good results.
My kids all had lots of play dough, but my youngest was known as the play dough queen. Thinking about the school paste from my elementary days (40s) , it reminds me of Crisco. I don't remember eating it, but my dh just chimed in that he used to eat it. I bought many boxes of those bubbles. Sure hope they weren't toxic.
Off to take next dose of the yuck......Jan
-
My colonoscopy is scheduled for Jan. 6th..had many.....my mother died from colon cancer........
-
hahaha April. I never ate paste, but boy did I like the smell of it. Glue too.
Good luck tomorrow with your colonoscopy MinusTwo!!
Rocky, I'm with you! I'd rather eat playdoh. I don't mind the paper test though. Although, it always freaks me out when they have you mail it in.
Will be thinking of you on Jan. 6th Ducky! Wrote it on my calendar for a pocket party!!
-
JAN, sorry I missed you were having a colonoscopy too. Good luck to you as well!!
The two of you can have one HOLE of a colonoscopy party when finished!!
Sorry, couldn't resist.
-
Thanks Slow, This wouldn't be so bad except a friend is stage 4 colon cancer. I guess drinking the crap to clean me out is not so bad in comparison, but...... Jan
-
JAN, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I have a great amount of empathy for anyone with colon cancer.
I'm certainly no stranger to colon procedures. I developed flesh eating bacteria 12 years ago as a result of an injection into a hemorrhoid. After three surgical debridements, a colostomy, colostomy reversal and flap reconstruction, I was still left with a partial butt cheek and a fistula. Needless to say, I'm challenged in that area. Then I developed a bowel obstruction during chemo, and had to do the colonoscopy prep. When I told my reconstruction surgeon that my HMO wanted to do a colonoscopy on me she said, "Don't poke a skunk."I took her advice to heart - my colonoscopy days are OVER!
-
Slow, Wow, your b-hind has sure had a rough time. Glad you are thru with colonoscopies. I know I have little to complain about, but I still do ....... Jan
-
hahaha JAN. Complain away!! Colonoscopies suck!!
-
Amen to that Slow! I am due for one (my second one) early next year and I am not in the mood at all (whoever is in the mood for that ought to go to counseling asap) but since I have both an aunt and an uncle who died from colon cancer as well as my MIL, I will drink the nasty stuff and get on with it!
-
-
Love it Ducky!
I had GoLYTELY when I had the bowel obstruction, and it was so much better than others I have used.
I mixed it with Crystal Light. I would definitely recommend it.
-
Ducky - Maxine is so great. April - I agree, counseling indicated. Slow - my goodness your obstruction & surgery sound awful. I'm sorry for those of you who have had relatives and friends with colon cancer. It has to be a nasty thing.
I used MoviPrep. It really isn't bad - just that my doc wanted a 2nd ltr in the morning 3 hrs before the procedure. I'm happy to say I'm home & had my first ever report of no polyps out of 4 previous tests. Now I'll have to say 'thank you' to that ugly, nasty chemo that obviously killed off the lurkers.
-
Minus Two Hooray! What are you going to eat now that you can. My appointment isn't until 2 PM (California), 3 more hours of waiting.
-
Nothing exciting Jan. I fixed a fried egg sandwich on Pumpernickel and had a large piece of cocoanut cake. I was more interested in taking a nap.
In the same vein as Play Doh - I got my grown son a package of Silly Putty for his Christmas stocking. I used to love making 'copies' of the funny papers on Silly Putty.
