THE WAY WE WERE......LOOKING BACK IS FUN
Comments
-
Be honest......everyone had at least one pair of these.......LOL
-
Ok, then what about this little number...........
-
Yes, Ducky, I'm guilty. Those were the skinny days. Wish I could get away with this now. Jan'
-
Remember the jeans that had the zipper than ran all the way down, through the crotch & back up the seat? My dad called 'em drive-in pants.
-
That shirt might fit on my arm. lol
-
Oh goodness ducky. My Mother didn't allow stretch pants or tops w/spaghetti straps, not to mention the skin showing above the waist. I'd have been grounded forever.
-
owned at least a pair of those pants or two and had that EXACT same shirt. I remember wearing it on my honeymoon in Jamaica in 1975!
-
Anyone remember this
-
Or These......
-
I remember both of those things!!
I'm one of those rare geeks that loved covering books.
-
I've never seen the multiplication table pencil box. What a neat idea. Oh yes, covered many a book with brown paper bags. I was dah master. Even did DB's.
-
Ok someone must have chewed this.......I did.
-
Loved that stuff!!
-
Ooh, Beechnut Peppermint & the Clove too.
-
Chemin de fer, Jordache and Dittos, oh my!
-
I had a pair of Landlubber jeans I just adored that had the button yoke much like those chemin de fer. Liked dittos, but jordache didn't work for girls with tiny waists but very round curvy bottoms & thighs.
-
I could never wear Dittos only the two other brands. Dittos were for the slim girls back then and I definitely wasn't slim. I recall it bummed me out that some of the girls could wear these while others couldn't. I believe it was my first realization that we really were different shapes. I think I was about 10 at the time. Thankfully, we weren't under a microscope back then like many kids are today.
-
Yes, I remember the pencil case/sharpener/ruler. All 3 things in one - amazing! Covered many books with brown paper bags. Many years later when teaching English as a Foreign Language to high school kids, I gave them a hands-on lesson in book covering. They must have thought I was nuts------rich Americans using a bag from the grocery store to cover books!
My daughters had dittos. They were skinny and still are. I mostly wore dresses in those days. I haven't worn a dress in years and years. Yikes
-
I had dittos in so many colors. I used my babysitting money to buy them.
I thought they were a west coast thing though.
I never saw them until I moved to CA.
-
I loved, loved the stirrup pants. Wish they were still around. maybe keep keep my legs looking straighter than dimpled! -
Here's another........
-
I grew up in So. California. Never knew Dittos were a CA thing. Loved Cootie!!!! What a strange game in retrospect.
-
Ducky - I loved Cootie. Thanks for the memory.
-
I've never seen that Cootie thing.
My Mom always told me I'd catch cooties if I kissed a boy.
Didn't know it was a game!
-
Did any of you fold a paper square to make a "cootie catcher"? Or sometimes we used for telling fortunes.
Found a link. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Cootie-Catcher-%28Or...
-
My kids did..........lo
-
Loved this
and damn I was good.........LOL
-
I loved jacks! I played cootie too, but jack was on of my favorites. Wonder how much it would cost now--hard to believe it was only 10 cents!
-
Paper cootie catchers and 10 cent jacks. I occasionally had marbles, too. Woo Hoo! A simple childhood.
-
I was great at jacks... still am :-). I bought my son a set when he was younger and he really liked playing too. What was everyone's rule on "kisses"... separate or leave them be?
