Teka- well, I hope that is NOT what you have right now on your roof! I know the Adirondacks get lots and lots of snow. Some day I will tell you about the time I rolled a car up there and managed to walk away unscathed (but shaken up). Jazzy appears to have nine lives.
I joined the bird watchers thread!
Hope everyone had a good day. I am tired and watching scary movies on HBO tonight. The Omen is on right now.
-
thanks Teka! It feels great to be done! Now onward in the journey. That pic is....omg, no words! It will be 81 here today.
Does anyone know how much lab work I will have to do after chemo? I was going each week, but now will only be on Herceptin, so the nurses were not sure except to say maybe once a month......forgot to ask onco.
hermies, could not have done dis chit without you all. You are on my graitude list, forevah! Hope you all are doing well today.
Jazzy how comes the holiday preps?
-
Holy cow Teka!
-
Bippy- I did not do chemo (surgery and rads only) but remember my sister going every six weeks for her herceptin treatments for a full year. I think you have some space to get this one answered. Glad we could be here to help and hope the SEs are minimal.
I finished setting the table after the cleaning folks left yesterday and it looks lovely, but some changes may be afoot! I talked to my other friends (sisters friends too) that live here, and whom I originally invited but could not come. It sounds like their plans have changed and they may now be available, so I re-invited them for dinner on Thursday and will wait to hear. I ordered a 15 pound turkey (more than enough for us plus two more) and may be adding two more place settings. I told my friend to talk to her husband and think about it.
This friend is the one who got me through my medical crisis a couple years ago, was there to get me to and from surgeries, etc. It would give me great joy to serve her and her husband a lovely meal. Lets hope they say yes?
Slept well last night although I still have lingering congestion. Got some work things to finish, home things to do, and some final food to procure for the week ahead. Going to try not to make it a crazy weekend.

*Good Morning Hermits*

Teka- enjoying some Starbucks Thanksgiving blend this morning. YUM!
-
Jazzy,
Teka is an indoor cat.
-
Teka- yes, I knew that!
-
-
Friends say they have now be re-invited to their daughters dinner. So just the four of us again, as planned.
Here is the table so far.
-
Jazzy – beautiful table!
-
Yay jazzy
So far so good

HAPPY DANCE
-
Hi everyone , happy dance goes for this thread today.
Blondie u and I both think alike here--about Jazzy--the energy and the pacing of it is marvelous. Jazzy u'r table looks beautiful, u almost hate to sit and ruin it. And again u have this right on time. And I hope u'r job goes well so u can enjoy the rest of the holidays. Oh and I have to play that for Joey, he'll love it I know. And last "session" he was near the dog and he sat up and howled right along with him. So I suggested I take the dog as my service dog to the CONCERT and I got a big fast no, my kids have no sense of humor, Joey didn't mind the idea. OK a quickie Joey went to his first boy girl party tonite for a BD--he wnt to buy the present and got 2 things one was a whole array of nail polish and the other a small lego set and Leslie said how do u know she'll like this and he said because I notice her nails and I listen when she talks about things and I thought this scares me, cuz those kind of men are on the news and people say they were so nice u'd never think that this would happen. Holy chit Oh and he came home at 11PM, I told him when I was 18 that was my time to be home.
Sally I was going to say something to u and now I forgot of course.
MO glad u'r checking out a furbaby, u'll fall in love again-my cats have always been indoor cats, I don't know if that makes a difference, but when I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night-I don't want to turn any big lites on cuz Marty wakes up easily so she walks in fron of me and I can't see her but he meows very quietly with ever stop until I get in the bathroom then she guides me back to my room.
Mags a good feeling to her B9, always
I'm sorry I haven't been here much, but all I see is a computer and aggrevation all day (to me) and yesterday I did lot of shopping on her and took forever, cuz I go for free shipping and %'s off so a lot of searching, but most of the stuff was for me and what I needed and I did get a couple of presents, I'm really not buying a whole lot this year, but I just love to be with all the family.
And when u gals were talking about friends I have to say I've been so blessed my whole life with friends we're still all together from when I was young and added a few more in later years and we're all so close--Now if I could have picked a man like that It would have been nice. Oh well can't have everything.
Teka I love u'r morning coffees, I like all the colored sugar, good idea if u have company I think
OK I never mean to leave anyone out cuz u are al so specil but I can't remember so much of what I read--so I'm sending (((HUGS))) to everyone.

Good morning hermits.
-
Jazzy, lovely, are those cactus candlesticks?
-
Teka- yes they are. I got them years ago when I lived in CT at a TJMaxx, believe it or not. I always had an affinity for all things out west. Then I moved here.
-
You bought them in CT and brought them to NM.
-
Cami- that Joey sounds like such a considerate young man. All that time he spends with you had taught him well to listen to the girls. I love the story about choosing the nail polish and leggos. One part sounds like something a young girl would like, the other is something an older girl would like. But that is about right for that age too, just adorable!
I am glad you are blessed with some good friends. My besties don't live here, but have stuck with me through thick and thin through the years and vice versa. I also have learned in life, not everyone is around for the whole ride either. Sometimes people are in your life for a reason or a season, vs. a lifetime. I pay attention to those who stay in touch, show up, and care.
Glad you got some on line shopping done. I have a bit of on line to do myself, but going to wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving or "cyber-monday". I put a few packages in the mail this week for birthday and a few Xmas gifts I had ready to go early. I am trying to not do as many gifts anymore either. Just with my family and inner circle of friends. And I usually do a few business gifts too. I hope you got some nice things for yourself!
Do you have any parties this holiday season? I know you like to dress up and go out, if you are up to it.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the table. I cleaned my stainless last night, and finished the place settings. Now on to finishing with some final purchases for the dinner. I am off to the store this morning to do that first thing.

Having a good morning so far!
-
Hi Ladies........just wanted to drop by and say Hello........been MIA on this thread......
Teka.....I hope that is not where you live.........it is so scary........hope your safe if that picture is anywhere near where you are............
-
Ducky,
*Hi*
No, the rain last night washed away what little snow was covering the ground.
Today, having an early Thanksgiving dinner!
Hope You and Family are OK.
-
Glad your safe..........enjoy your dinner.......family is good...........thanks for asking....
-
I saw the lovely photo of *Grayson* on another thread.
-
Ohhhhh, my special baby.....love her so much......she is coming along, determined, happy little girl.....just hope one day she walks by heself.........God is good....one day she may........
-
Cami, I have never heard of a guide cat. Marty sounds very smart. I wish I were not allergic to cats. At least I get to hear wonderful cat stories from the Hermit Sisters. It sounds like Joey as a great sense of humor along with being so caring since he was okay with you taking the dog to the concert.
Jazzy, I love your table. As I've told you before, you inspire me. Now I am inspired to prepare for guests more than a day or two ahead of time. It dawned on me ... early prep allows one to appreciate their efforts for days instead of hours.
Mags, happy to hear about your B9 results.
Teka, keep the coffee pics/posters coming ... I really enjoy them ... of course, I probably drink too much coffee although I balance caff with no caff, but my k-cup bill is adding up. I do enjoy getting to choose cup by cup. And, I am hoping it's better than a candy bill.
M0mmy, good to hear that your morning is going well.
Hi Ducky ... nice to see you ... Grayson looks so happy, healthy, and cute ... love those shiny eyes and warm smile!
Happy Day everyone!
-
Jazzy inspires me also
-
Hi hermits- it is very windy and very cold today! I see all the leaves I finished cleaning out from my yard yesterday have returned now from other yards and trees. I took the car out of the garage and with the brief time the door was open, the winds ushered in a nice collection of leaves. Well, that is just the way it is here today. I am getting ready to head to the gym for an "indoor" work out and then to pick up some of my final supplies for dinner on Thursday. I am trying to make my week as reasonable as possible, but it is going to be busy!
Sally- I doubt I have ever set a dinner table a week ahead of time. But with working for some of the week and then having to entertain the rest of it, it just feels good to have it done! The house does look festive and it nice to enjoy a few days before everyone comes.
Ducky- so nice to hear from you and what a wonderful photo of Grayson. I remember you showing us the special device she got to help with walking. She is a doll and hope she is able to easily walk with time. I hope you are doing well too, feeling well this holiday season.
Time to get out into the blustery day. Hope everyone else is having a nice sunday!
-
Good day today.......I am off Letrozole for 3 weeks now, and feeling much better........go back to the MO on Dec.2nd....not sure what I will do.....it feels good......to feel good......the SE's took away my QOL.....might decide to stay off it............or try another on..........true choic is to stop altogether........choice is mine...............
Thanks ladies......yes, love my little girl..........
-
Ducky- the AIs are no picnic, are they? I had a lot of problems on Arimidex/anastrozole the first six months on it, took a break and went back on it after a month and it has been better (although I still have stiffness in the joints and my feet often hurt). I know for many, including you, the SEs can really be unbearable and make daily living a real challenge.
My MO always said they have to weigh the pros vs. cons with these drugs, because of the SEs, especially the risk to the bones. I am having an updated bone density test on 12/5, to see where I am these days some 20 months months into this.
I hope your conversation goes well and it is good to always have an informed choice about these treatment options that get put before us. I wish you luck and glad you are feeling better too!
