Tomorrow, dragging out with Husband grocery shopping and getting a new washer. Quiet on the threads!
-
A friend sent this funny clip about Thanksgiving dinner I think we can all relate to on some level. I have a story from once upon a time about some vegans and a Thanksgiving dinner.....
-
-
Hi hermits- yes, the threads are slowing down. Perhaps many laying low now as the holidays approach.
Crazy busy day and work and glad to be gone from it tomorrow. Three days a week was the smartest thing I could have done......
I posted the cute link up top about the challenges of finding food folks can eat for Thanksgiving dinner. I think you will get a kick out of it. I have stories of vegans and Thanksgiving. Bring on the Tofurkey!

That Bigfoot looks like my sister in law Ha Ha
Hope all is going well, Please take care, Footprintsangel
-
Really?
-
She acts like that cause she gets drunk. I feel sorry for her
in my heart.
-
Yes, that could be a problem!
-
But I am grateful for my sister here that know how
I feel and care. I never hear from family, You are
all very special to me here.
-
Easy to drift apart.
-
Footprints- I don't have much family left so having connections beyond what remains is important to me too. This is a good place to connect with people who care....
-
Also, I heard the center of the country got hit with a big snow storm. Anybody digging out?
-
But that's why I go out and talk with people and have
starbucks in the morning and shop for what I need. Cause I need to be
around people sometime to keep going
-
love the bigfoot pic!
My family is gone, the only ones that cared about me anyway, so the rest do not count. Holidays have always been hard ever since, but at least I have Dh and his family is okay but we are not close. They all have their own things going on and we feel like outcasts at holiday dinners, that is, IF we re invited.
I am perfectly happy with seeing friends instead, usually we go there but this year I will be feeling SEs from my LAST chemo so...planning to order a small dinner for two, vs. trying to prepare anything. I hope to feel well enough by Christmas to host an open house for a few hours.
Getting ready to go to park for the weekend in camper....hermit breaking out

*Good Morning Hermits*
-
Bippy,
There are two kinds of family in our lives. Those we are born to and those we let into our hearts. We are all family here.
-
Good morning hermits- waking up to 30 degrees this morning and think we may have finally gotten our first frost!
My friends have usually been the ones to be present with me during most of the hard times in my life. Friends are in your life by choice, not by birth and thank god for them. Part of the reason I am so independent, is because I never got much support from my family, everyone else's problems and needs come first. My sister is the only one who knows about my bc, and even she can be dismissive sometime, even having gone through it too. They are who they are, and I don't readily dial them up for support. Don't expect things from those who can't or don't have it to give.......
A few of my friends have changed since my bc diagnosis though. I have had to distance myself from a few people who are clearly uncomfortable with me, and another friend I learned was recently talking about some things behind my back to others about my health issues (not the bc, the ruptured appendix, but still). I am not making an effort to keep in touch with or deepen those friendships. I am not interested in fair weather friends nor people who gossip about me behind my back. However, I am blessed to have some other good friends who continue to be part of my life and know how to let my health issues be private. You learn a lot about people through all this.
Off from work today but much to do. Have a groovy day!

Morning, Hermies. 27º and windy here.
MO visit was oddly not comforting although he is convinced that the lumps are b9. But that side had atypical ductal hyperplasia, so they have to biopsy to be sure. I had to read up on it. Also, he wants me to have a PET scan before the end of the year. And, I have a mild case of LE on upper arm. So seeing LE person Monday morning. So ready to be done, but it's not to be.
How are my Hermies doing?
-
Just hibernating in the house. Its only 60 here right now and overcast.
-
Mags- if they think it is benign, that is good to hear. Most of them know enough about when to be worried or not seeing this day in and day out. But I am sure hearing PET scan is worrisome. Probably just checking to make sure you are okay all over. Do you have a date for the biopsy?
It is chilly here today. I went to the gym and been putting away the last of my patio things. Now I will focus on the messy house.
I look forward to more hermit time during the winter months. I have always been one to hibernate more in the colder months.

Glorious
-
Blondie, so glad you made it to the shore and are having a "glorious" time.
Onco, you sound like you are going through a rough period. (((hugs))) I wish I had wise/helpful words/thoughts to share.
-
Mags, it sounds like you are in for some more waiting ... for a CT and then for results. Are the holidays a help to make the waiting go quickly?
-
Hugs to my fellow hermies who need them.
