INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

This is a very cool story. Firestone has taken heat for so much over the last years. But this a brilliant response that contained Ebola by folks that had to figure out how to do it by reading on the internet. -
Mommy, Steriods don't treat an infection. They treat inflammation. If your doc thought you had an infection, you be on a drug that has antifungal or antibacterial drug mixed in with your steroid. The positive is if it's just a steroid, your doc didn't feel there was evidence of infection. The key is to inspect it everyday, in the same light, I'll link to a thread I did an indepth thingy on skin and it's evaluation. No sense in reinventing the wheel.
Give it a read then send me a PM with questions.

hey 2nd. Hoping your mom is better. Thinking of your dad and you.
-
hello everyone

I have been a bit overwhelmed in life lately, so I took a long break and got on some happy pills..doing much better now

I don't lurk, so I just got done skimming many many many pages...wow...that was work.
Great pics of Chevy, spooks and sas.. So cool you guys got together.
Smarty you look great.
HoleinOne, thanks for the postcard !!!! That was really sweet.
Thanks for the pms and emails girls

I got a note from fierce blue birds family. Her hubby wanted to let us know how much we all meant to her. He had my address from something I sent her, but had lost my note, so,he didn't know the name of who sent it, just had my address. I thought that was actually perfect, cause the note is for all of us, we all loved her and miss her. Just wanted to let you all know how much she and her family appreciated this board

Sleep well everyone
-
Susan,
Great to see ya here. We miss you. Happy to know that you are feeling better.
-
Susan- good to hear from you! Glad you are feeling a little better.
Patty- look how cute you are!
Tang- MIL's: too bad you can't just erase crappy family members from your life. Why can't people just be nice to each other?
Sas- your mom sounds like an awesome woman!
Chevy- quit Hulking out and tearing the doors off your cars!
Mof2- I would have handed your MIL a mop and told her to get her ass to work.
Nettie- how are you feeling?
2nd- thinking of you and your family.
Blondie- hope you are feeling better today.
big hugs all around!
-
How awesome is that, thanks, u have been missed, hang in Hugs
-
hi ladies! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, am so sure they helped (can't call everyone out by name personally, too tired). Those along with Dr Sassy's advice. Long couple of days. Basically, mom has some new heart function problems which is causing edema. Dad will get more info later this week, next week. UTI made mom so feeble, I was frightened for her. Had to make a big stink to get her released, by then was back to her old self (yes, amazing personality transformation in a couple hours). (Sassy, FYI, pee, poop and mobility requirements for release no longer applies).
So very tired...
Patty P, thanks for the new photo! Now I know the pretty lady I'm playing all the word games with.
Susan, glad to see you. Been thinking of you...
Jwoo, love your sense of humor!
Good night all!
-

hugs to all you guys too
!!!!!!! -
prayers and hugs your way 2nd. Hope you get some peaceful sleep tonight

-
JW,
love that but it wouldn't work as she is as dense as a doorknob!
-
Morning night owls!
Mom2.... I'll bet it is something like Fluocinonide? He
is my best friend! I get that prescribed for almost everything that goes wrong
on me! I get the ointment.Just watch it, and if it doesn't help, ask for something
else... like Turpentine. My Grandmother swore by that stuff.... Used it on
all of us.Sass! You and Spookie going on a road-trip together!
Hah! Gotta alert the authorities on THIS one....Peppermint.... that is right! And we are soooo young, and
want to make a good impression, even though THEY are ripping us apart when they
all get together. But WE show them!
Yes Mom2... If the Turpentine doesn't work, for SURE use
something else. You know, my DH had Dupetryn's Contracture.... where his 2
fingers on his right hand are bent in towards his palm... And they stay close
together, where he can't move them apart.... It got red, and was peeling...
DD's Doctor friend/neighbor told him to use Fluocinonide, AND an anti fungal
cream, like for Athlete's foot, and we put pieces of gauze on it, and it cleared
up! So it was the combination that worked. So never-mind the Turpentine I
guess.....Morning Susan.... hope you are doing alright.... Thanks
for telling us about Blue-birds family....JWOW! We are keeping our fingers crossed about this
"other" car we are looking at! I'll call the guy this morning! Our friend
found this on Craigs list, so I am trying not to get excited.... but I AM! It's
a 2012 Nissan, with 63,000 miles on it. Looks great... but I'm not excited....
not in the least.Hi 222222nd! So they release her ANYway? Even if she
can't get those things controlled? I have to come out there..... We have to
take charge of this.....Just rest little 22222.... when you can... We are with
you....JWOW.... THat was funny what you said to Mom2~! Ha! Yes,
we all have dense MIL's.... or did....I did so MUCH for mine! Moved her I don't KNOW how many
times, and she was never happy! Complained until she kicked the bucket! I'll
bet the old man.... (her husband) saw her coming, and said 10 Hail Mary's! -
Just MAYbe if I drink enough hot coffee, it will go down to my hip, and then to my knee, and make it feel better.....HOLY cow! Maybe there is an atmospheric pressure change or something?
Cammi.... that means ...... oh never mind....
-

good morning owlettes ....hope everyone has a blessed day...and fun of course

-
-
CHEVY wondered where you were. Yeah, road trip to Tampa. DH has a 14 Nissan Versa sedan. It's a nice car, drives and rides nice, good gas mileage. My only complaint is it sits kind of low, hard to get up and out of. Bothers my creaky knees. May want to keep that in mind looking at yours.
-
Looking at what? My creaky bones? Ha! I'm going to call the guy now.... cross your fingers!
-
gm ladies. Thanks for those who commented on my pic. I finally figured out how to add it via iPhone - too lazy to hook up the laptop. So now if I can just figure out how to take a selfie. Lol
.Youngest ds ran fever sun but better by mon. Oldest ds woke up yesterday in crying pain so he missed school and will be out Til thur. Dh took him to the dr yesterday who sent them straight to the hospital for an ultrasound. I was stuck at home by the toilet vomiting. So wanted to be there to hold his hand. Damn cancer. Glad my dh is so wonderful. Ds is fine just a severe groin pull. So I get to be mommy who gets to take care of his every need. Makes me feel so much better than him helping to take care of me.
Susan - hooray. So glad to see you post. You were missed. Glad you are feeling happier and hoping your tx is working. Love the hugs pic. Glad you passed on info on FBB.
Jwoo - you are so funny re - mil.
Blondie. - gm. Hope you slept well last night.
2nd - you'd mom was released back to the nursing home? Uti's can get serious without tx for sure. Now her heart. Ugh. Keeping you and your dad in prayers. So when is your work interview ? I pray for you regularly ( well actually for everybody on insomniacs ), praying also that the right job , with the best pay, benefits and hours comes along for you ASAP.
Chevy - Craigslist for a car ? I thought you were scared to meet some freak? Meet them at the police station to look at it. 2012 Nissan sounds great. Reliable cars. What color? Isn't the color much more important than the number of miles it has? Gotta look good , right? Just kidding. So, have you any new update on how your neighbor is doing? Have you been able to visit her ? We need a good funny story from your last visit with her.
Cami - missing your hilarious Attitude.
Holeinone & enerva - howdy
Hey to all those I missed. Hope everyone has a great day.
Hootie hoo
-
Dermatologist prescribed Triamcinolone cream for the Sweet's syndrome. Had to have hubby help me put it on my back. He's pretty good about that kind of stuff. He was a big help last year when I was going through chemo and I had really bad leg and back pain, he would rub on a linament that I ordered from Watkins to help with the pain.
-
nice sas

Chevy....get a convertible ...red !!!!!!
-

Susan, great idea !!! Then Chevy can have her "big hair" blowing in the wind, maybe road trip & come visit us....
Chevster, I have a Nissan Rouge. Easy to get into, sits high enough, good gas mileage.
-
I'll swap you my factory pink 67 Mustang for that bird conv.
-
how come I don't have a cool car

Now I have car envy
Chevy....gotta go for it
-
on kindle forgive typing. Can't sit. Too much sitting in computer chair yesterday.
Chevy yeah go for wild. You an dear husband come by it legitimately. Do it. Don't be safe. You know you want too. Look at it this way. You have been careful all your life. With as long as you keep cars, hey this could be your last car.
Pepper glad you figured it out. Now I need too. Hope you feel better and ds too. Omd, I haven't heard of Watkins in years. It was always in my mom's house.
Another mom story. Their bar in the 70's. She took the beer picture of a table off a guy who had too much. He became nasty. She shoo'ed him out the front door with a bar towel. While she was shoo'ng the guy out. The rest of the people rushed to the back door. Guy was gone. She turns, asks "What?". Some one said, "Didn't you see the gun?"
-
Watkins...My step grandmother was a sales rep, when she passed, granpa let my mom and her sister have all the stuff, but all I really remember mom getting was bottles of liniment and vanilla flavoring!
-
I love their linament, it works wonders!
-
hi all, back from my sewing retreat, I'll post a pic of my dress when I get done sewing the armholes down. Didn't get a lot done.
Got my surgery date this morning, December 5. So I can do thanksgiving and Christmas. I even can plan on swim lessons through November, yeah!
Glad to see Susan and tang back. Hi!
-
Smaarty- that is my bday! The best gift I could get would be an awesome surgical outcome for you!
-
jwoo, thanks, that's sweet.
-
Holeinone- cool car perfect for summer evenings.
Chevy good luck picking a car.
Sas-shatzi- funny stores about your Mom and their bar. I love that she took no crap! Great story about the gun.
Smarty good luck on the surgery.
It's 2am been up for 1/2 hour.. wide awake. Hmmm took some more Melatonin. Did lots of gardening and dog washing yesterday. You would think that would wear me out! Just washing my border collie who hates water is a huge job... all that thick fur, rinsing and rinsing. Then she is invigorated and wants to play ball! OY! She is nearly 10 years old and has not slowed down a bit. My other 2 dogs are small 17 and 15 pounds - corgi/westie/chihuahua mix and a doxie/chihuahua/russel mix. The westcorgihuahau is 17 years old and it's a very slow bath. She's nearly blind and almost deaf. Poor thing but she loves laying in the sun after a bath, baking her bones. I see many of you have dogs or "fur" kids as I think of them. I love my dogs even if they are lots of work. Wish my border would let me take her to the groomer.. but she hates it. sigh.. it's me washing or a stinky dog.
Do you find just laying there in the dark for ages makes you fall back to sleep? I've read that playing on the computer keeps you awake, but I get so bored just reading a book! It's something to do at least.. quiet. all quiet here so ya'll must be sleeping. Hope blondie got zzzs.
