Oh that is so promising! That is news we can all celebrate. Congratulations Edi!
-
Yay! Great to hear from you, Edi!
-
Wonderful news, Edi - Congratulations!
-
Scouser, such good news! A little breathing room is always good to hear. Have a wonderful cancer free year ahead.

quick update from me on my ankle/foot - saw my GP on Monday afternoon - because Workman's Compensation is involved she needed a different form on her computer and so spent much of the time focused on the computer screen trying to make the number of characters in her report fit the form. Very disappointing appointment.
Do any of you also get frustrated at appointments sometimes where you just don't feel like you are being heard?
end result is that she decided I need more physio - we'll see if WCB approves - come back in one month.
One extra piece of information from the ultrasound that I wasn't aware of but helps me understand the newer discomfort on ball of foot is there is a 1 cm growth there - possibly neuroma or fibroma or ganglion.

The wedding is over and I am so happy! It was a very emotional day as I watched my baby commit herself to her handsome prince. I survived, and I am exhausted, but so grateful that I was well enough to be present at the wedding. Now all of the kids are married - phew!! My goal now is to simply relax, although my house looks like a bomb has hit it with all the post wedding mess. Oh well, it will have to wait while I catch up on my sleep.
Edi - congrats on getting the all clear. Exactly 2 years ago today, I had my surgery to remove the tumour - I am still on a 3 month schedule - interesting how they are all just a bit different!
Websister - wishing you healing for that ankle of yours.
Momof2 - how did the haircut turn out ? Mine is growing so fast these days - needing it cut every 6 weeks now. The curls are still there, but they are a relaxed curl now, not the tight ones like in the beginning when it came back. Good for you purging 'stuff ' - that is exactly what I need to do!
Liefie - your cruise sounds amazing! And your photos are wonderful.
Enjoy the rest of your week, ladies!

Hi 😎,
Adagio two years today for me too for lump removal 😀. Find it hard to believe. I am seen by either surgeon or chemo doc every six months but surgeon now says twelve months for next one with him but ANY problem contact straight away and they will scan/test.
Find it reassuring but also bit cast adrift 😦 . How lovely that you can now relax as weddings all done. Enjoy 😁
Thanks to you all for comments, just wanted to hopefully give everyone a bit of a lift and some hope.
Love to all xx

Adagio…So happy that the daughters have their handsome princes. I sympathize with the feeling that a bomb went off in your home. I am still dealing with the lavender aftermath in DD bedroom. I went in there yesterday and made some progress. A friend purchased the table linens and the centerpieces. The florist used white tulle along the aisle and some how 30 yards of tulle ended up in the boxes. I thought about you as I was trying to fold those huge pieces. So I will get back to the mess today..after my coffee Hope you are able to relax. The mess will be there waiting for you when you want to relive the planning experience. Until then do like me…close the DOOR.
The haircut helped. She mostly trimmed the back and sides. I suppose that I will have to adjust to having grey hair. The chemicals used in the coloring are just too risky for me.
I have yet another surgery to get through…Oct. 6, for this shoulder. Seems as though October is surgery month in my life. Since I have had 2 different BC tumors, my 2 year anniversary will be 10/15 for the left side (aka Pos tumor) and then on 10/23 a 1 year survival of TNBC. Could it be that I actually get through a birthday this year without a cancer surprise?
Edi… Yay…2 years! I would go out and do some retail therapy to celebrate.
Websister… I do hope the doc will come up with a successful treatment plan for your ankle SOON. It is so disappointing to hear of the roadblocks some of our Canadian sisters have to endure with treatment.
In my email, yesterday, trip advisor sent me a notice that round trips to Eugene, OR from Atlanta were going for $345. OH how I wanted to book a flight! but DH has to teach and I would not enjoy the trip without him. Perhaps during winter break DH and I can do something on our bucket list….wasn't I dreaming of Norway and the Northern Lights? Guess, I can still dream….
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend!
Love,
Jenifer

momof2 - just read your stats, and you have been through so much in the last 2 years!!! Well done for hanging in there and maintaining your sense of humour ! Of course you will get through a birthday this year without a cancer surprise! October has not been a kind month to you in the past couple years - I am guessing this is your birthday month ! Hopefully the surgery on your shoulder will make a huge difference in your pain level - I haven't heard of that surgery before, but then I don't know much about rotator cuff injuries. All I know is that shoulders can hurt a lot!!!!
Right now, I am untying the knots from the chair sashes and folding them - hoping to sell them. Glad that you were able to sell some of DD's wedding stuff - to recoup a little bit of money! Next I will fold all the table runners. I vacuumed and cleaned up the living and dining rooms today, so at least those two rooms are in good shape now - I can actually see my dining room table - yeah!!
Take great care of yourselves, everyone!

Hi Ladies
I am new to the site (kind of) though I have been "lurking" via google for some time now. I have infact read EVERY SINGLE POST on this thread from the very beginning (yes, I really should get out more, hahaha)
I feel as though I know some of you ladies personally, almost like a favourite tv show! Please, no one take offence, I mean it in a loving way.
The reasons I chose to post here are simple. Edi, the only UK gal iv come across so far, who over the last few months while iv been coming to terms with my new diagnosis (recurrence of IDC from 2010, double mast, hormone torture etc.. More on that another time) has given me countless giggles with her antics and anecdotes. Really, ALL u ladies here have had me laughing and crying along with you for months now, this thread has read like a book iv not been able to put down and I want to thank each and every one of you.
My only regret is that the thread founder seems to have disappeared, so I never got the chance to thank her. Bennys story touched my heart as I'm certain it has many others, and I sincerely hope she is doing well and is happy 😊
I think that's enough for now, I hope everyone here, wherever in the world you are, has a great day/evening/night and finds peace and sunshine in your hearts.
Hugs W xx

Welcome wambles! Yes I agree, one of the few good things to come out of this ordeal, was meeting this awesome bunch! Benny is doing well, a few of the ladies on this thread live near her and they get together now and then. Well, you know that if you read it all, I guess.
-
Welcome Wambles! (Do you live near Wimbledon?)
And I'm also from the UK, if you didn't get that, although I've been living in Calgary, Canada for about 9 years.
My sister in law, in England, was diagnosed a little before me, in summer 2012, so we've had a kind of parallel story going on

-
welcome Wambles !!!! These ladies are fabulous!!!! Tomorrow is my 2 yr anniversary since my survey can't believe it!!!! Was out running around tiday as usual one soccer one hockey game but I love it!!!! Hope everyone is doing great !!! Muah
-
Welcome Wambles, so nice to have you join this fun group. Benny started a popular thread. This fall will start the third season (year) of "In Shock". It would be nice for Benny to drop in as a surprise !
Dakota, you remind be of the energizer bunny! You are an amazing woman to work and manage all of the sport activities. I hope you are going to do something very nice for yourself …congratulations on 2 years!
Well, I have managed to sell, donate, and hide all the wedding leftovers! The DD bedroom/guest room is back to normal ; do not look under the bed
It is a wonderful feeling to have that finished. My next project will be my CLOSET.
Adagio and Liefie, I would love to see some pictures of the weddings and cruise. Unfortunately, I do not do FB.
Sending hugs to all.

Hi there!!
Thankyou muchly for the welcomes, what friendly people you all are!!
Forgive me again for not mentioning individual names, I know many do but I'm still fathoming not just the site, but my mobi out, don't wanna cackadoodle doo any posts up just yet. Hahaha.
One thing that did give me a giggle.. Do I live in Wimbledon.. ? Wasn't that the wombles? Cute furry things living in a field? Whilst I may not wax my legs often enough it's been a long time since I've been referred to as cute. Haha..
I actually live on the south coast, in east Sussex.. Apparently we get the most hours of sunshine on average in England. Which being England doesn't really say a lot!!
Anyways, hope the sun is shining for you all, if not from the sky then at least in your hearts.
Hugs

Hi 😎,
Wambles welcome !! The best thing you will ever do is join this band of amazing warrior women.I fell into this thread by complete accident, thought it was a British site and have never regretted a minute spent on here.
Benny is the reason we are here and as some of the girls have said she is doing really well. I think she may lurk now and then 😁 but as long as she is well and happy so are we all.
I check most days as I love each and every one of my family on here. As you have read they have dragged me through some horrendous experiences and to see how different countries deal with BC is fascinating.
Hope you ask anything you need to as someone here will be able to help.
Sussex wow !! Glorious part of our country.
Dakota, wish I had your energy 😀 your youngsters are gorgeous just like their Mom.
Momof, turfing out myself and have a bin bag full of clothes just need to get them to the charity shop next.
We had an exciting day today. Went to a friends house by train !! EDI absolutely ridged with terror 😱 I hate tunnels and underground stations. We made it without me pushing DH onto the line and had a really pleasant time. Tried the subway in New York once and was a pathetic mess there too.
Almost 1 am here, eyes like pee holes in the snow 🙍 off To land of nod. Love to all xx

Wambles/Wombles ..... I just thought it might be an alternative spelling. Dear old Uncle Bulgaria and Orinoco and all

I'm from Worthing, West Sussex, myself, so we were practically neighbours!!

-
Good morning ladies (5.30am here)
Edi, (hope u don't mind me calling you that, as I said before I feel like I know some of you already) you're right, I hope, I do think joining here maybe one of the best things I've done in a while. I'm very much isolated as I suffer from social phobia, due in most part to a past abusive relationship. It got to a point where when I was originally diagnosed in 2010 I was unable to complete my radiation therapy as the stress of travelling 5 days a week for treatment became intolerable. Tamoxifen made my condition worse as it upped my anxiety levels, so I came off of that too.
Now I'm here 4 years later with a recurrence and of course I blame myself, though all of my doctors have assured me that no one can tell WHY the recurrence happened and to go easier on myself. Thankfully my anxiety meds have been tweaked over the years to the point where I'm now much better able to cope with all the hoo hah that's happening now.
Morwenna, (hope I got that right, daren't go back to check)
I lived in Bognor Regis for some years before moving along the coast to where I am now, so yes I know Worthing well. All of Sussex is beautiful I think. I'm originally from a town just north of London and I have to say, I don't miss it one little bit!!!
Anyway, I hope everyone's in good spirits today. My day is just beginning and hopefully at some point I'll get to post my diagnosis gubbings and sort out an avatar. We shall see.
Hugs

Hi Wambles, 😎
Of course you can call me EDI 😀 I find a pen and notebook good when on here. I used to jot down notes along side names and then can answer or comment on various things without trawling back to see who is who.
Sorry that you had issues re leaving the house for treatments. Sure you aren't on your own. Also the Docs don't know what causes reoccurrence so just onwards and upwards with next step.
As you probably have gathered I am from Liverpool 😁 We also have one other from Liverpool, Jackpot, I had the pleasure of meeting her as she was being treated at the same hospital.
I love to hear about the differences in treatments/scans etc with the girls on here. All in all think most things are very similar ,except we don't have the insurance issues. We are lucky.
Good luck with avatar. Tried to change mine and lost it completely 😕
Love to everyone. Sun shining need to dust !!

I made it…today is #61. No plans, just glad not to be facing another BC diagnosis.
The arimidex is messing up my BP again. I was hoping that I could wait until my scheduled appointment with my PCP. However, I am having headaches and my BP is about 145/90. It is always something. I will see how things go today and perhaps call the PCP tomorrow. Argh!
Hope everyone is doing well!!

Woo hoo! Here's to many more years with no new dx!
Wishing peace and strength to all, as we gird our loins to suffer through another Pinktober.
-
One week on arimidex and I feel like I've aged 20 years!!!
-
Oh heck, sorry my pics upside down
-
W00t Momof...... Congratulations! Stay well!!!
You in Ozzie, Wambles?

Yes, Sussex is quite lovely in a quiet sort of a way ..... But you should see Alberta and the Rockies!!!
-
Noooooo! I wish. Went to Sydney in 2002 for a visit and never wanted to leave. I'm in Sussex, UK
xx
-
Oh bugga, just got what u meant.. Doh!
-
congratulations mom of 2 - hope you now get the blood pressure sorted out. Tomorrow is October and I cannot believe how fast the time is going by - getting the house cleaner each day after a deluge of visitors over the summer. Now that all the kids have left the nest, I am loving the quietness and cooking for only DH and myself - bliss!!
-
Sorry Wambles, I have a silly sense of humour!

-
Hahaha.. That's ok, morwenna, so do I usually but that one went right over my head 😏
