Ok, so here's my the Roll Call I compiled. It's to remind us who's actively posting on Insomniacs. Didn't include those not on Insomniacs for over a month. If you have changes, PM me and I'll get to it later (probably tomorrow). Likewise if you want your name removed.

Found it ----been working on finding auto &home insurance. I'm due to re-up on Auto in September. Found this link. Ranks the 50 worst and 50 best insurance companies. I'm changing companies b/c the Hartford was AWFUL to deal with on a claim in 2013. Now I find out they rank the worst of the top 50.
http://www.badfaithinsurance.org/indexdetaillist.h...
This link is to another page on FBIC---Fight Bad-faith Insurance Companies web site. This page has a listing of all 50 states that link to each states Department Of Insurance--DOI. If you study the 50 worst and 50 best page>>> then go to the State DOI page, it's VERY INTERESTING.
http://www.badfaithinsurance.org/doi.html
This link on FBIC is to all kinds of agencies under specific topics
http://www.badfaithinsurance.org/links.html
There's also, a link to flood insurance for each state on their DOI page. I've had flood insurance since 1998, it wasn't required just made me feel good. But it's managed for the government by the Hartford. Going to change that too! It seems that when you get flood insurance the plan manager for FEMA ends up being the same company as whomever you have your homeowners is through. The motto is "Thank you for Trusting the Hartford". NOT!
CHEVY Hartford RANKS NUMBER ONE ON THE WORST LIST? ALLSTATE AND STATEFARM are tied with the Hartford.

Saw this and thought this might be of interest to you (not implying any of you have a weight issue, but more research):
Via Dr. Susan Love, FB:
"This is actually info that you can use, aspirin and nsaids (advil, aleve) reduce recurrence in overweight women with breast cancer by decreasing inflammation. That may also be the way that exercise works! And if you are my age and you exercise then you have to take NSAIDS!"
NSAID Use May Reduce Risk of Breast Cancer Recurrence in Overweight and Obese Women

2nd good JOB--

Nettie how adorable--that pic is perfect--and I never want to hear about how u look--Only I can say that--U are beautiful no matter how u see u'rself. Boy she'd put a smile on anyone's face, she's brave too, with good luck.
My phones so far aren't bizzare, I know I'll be sorry for saying that. LOL
-
2nd - do you want other contact info also! Maybe I've already asked this, my memory is not so good! If so, I can PM you mine!
And Cami, thanks! It seems I always dress like a vagabond at home, had I known my dear daughter was going to snap the shot I would have moved!! Seems the camera always catches me at my worst.
-
Great inspirational video (about 3 minutes).
-
Nettie, haven't thought about other contact info in a while. Sure, PM me with your info.
If anyone else is interested, I'll look back on what Jwoo started and will follow through - probably tomorrow or this weekend though. Need to get out and run some errands, and oh, yeah, there's housework chores too!
Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!

2TA and all. Be careful on the NSAIDS and Tylenol(acetominophen). They can wreak havoc on the liver and kidneys. I am more cautious and concerned about their affect/effect than I am narcotics. Millions of Americans and people worldwide have unknown/undiagnosed liver disease b/c of these drugs. Never take NSAIDS or Tylenol 24 hours before or for an extended period after having even one alcoholic drink. My genetics of 3A4 & 3A5 are abnormal. One study showed NSAIDS being present in the bloodstream with a 3A4 slow metabolizer, one week after ingestion. But my abnormalities fit less than 5 % of the population. I know I'm wierd.
See 222222222222, you are on your way to a list. LOL. Thank you very much for taking the reigns.

-
Sassy, will do. But something to discuss with the medical teams.
-
Sas, I don't have flood insurance, never have. Not required, can't afford. When we were taken out of Citizens, we were assigned

with Homeowners Choice. A D- company. Now they are writing with Lloyd's of London, if I'm reading the news correctly. Rates seem reasonable. A lot of companies won't write for Pinellas county. Waaaaay down the end of the palm trees is the Gulf. Pic taken by my driveway.
-
Okay Spookie, what is that on the left, on the parking? Snow? I'll bet you live in a beautiful area! Now go down there and take a picture of the water you talk about!
I am sooooooo happy! I FOUND the big plastic jug of snack mix I made last week! Then I LOST the damn thing! I looked EVERYWHERE.... like 5 times! Now how hard can it be to find a gallon jug, with a blue lid?
So I was cleaning out the Fridge, and there it was! On the BOTTOM, on it's side, in the back, all nice and cozy! I made it with Almonds, cranberries, dried coconut, pineapple, chocolate covered almonds and raisins, dried Papaya, and yogurt covered stuff! I was dismayed!
So 2 days ago, I went and bought MORE stuff at Walmart and made more.... I gotta tell ya, I have MORE snack mix than I could ever eat in 3 life-times! But I knew the only way I could find it, was to buy more! So I did, and I did!
I know you guys are all astounded, that a little thing like that would make me happy.... but it did.
We went to see Theresa & Eddie today..... MAN, she looks good! She even plays Bingo there.... has won $3 in the last week! And she goes to sing-a-longs! I am so happy for her and her new life! Eddie will be 94 this month.... So when we rode the elevator down to their dining-room, a little woman got on, and she is 107!!!!!
Damn! Life is so precious.... no matter how old or young you are! Today is a special day...... you guys want some snack mix?
-
yes Chevy, can you put your recipe here?
Finally, getting around to working on my new computer!! It's only been about 6 weeks since I bought the tower. I'm now backing up my email, talk about snail mail. There's 12000 files and it's only on 1162, after an hour! This part will take all day. Once I get that done, then I can save all my stuff on a flash drive, then I'll be good to go with the new one.
New one

Old one. It's a mini Mac, I'll be able to wipe it clean and resale it on eBay. Maybe get a couple hundred for it, which will pay for the new one.

Spookie, I used to write disaster plans during the EMS years. I learned way more than I wanted to know about disasters. In 1998, I asked DH for flood insurance for my Christmas present. DH growled every year b/c the premium was due at Xmas. That's not as weird as my first Xmas here in 1992, I asked for a bike and a baseball mit. My SIL got a diamond. I agree with Chevy, that lot on the left looks awful, But you and I know that having any lawn in coastal areas is hard. Grass has a hard time gripping to sand.
2Ta, just throwing that info in as a cautionary about Those drugs. I was lucky in the 70's, b/c of neck pain , I was eating APC's aspirin, phenacetin, caffiene tabs routinely. They WERE considered so safe they were used on postpartum moms that were breastfeeding. Loandbehold, Phenacetin was found to cause irreversible kidney damage and was pulled off the market. I was lucky.
It's become a routine now to caution people about NSAIDS/tylenol risks on L &K. But this has ONLY really been stressed in the last decade. Deaths due to alcohol are now the 10th leading cause of death. Mixing the two is a big part of the liver damage. The public just hasn't been cautioned enough. The rise in deaths isn't that society is consuming more alcohol. It's what's being consumed with the alcohol that is changing the damage done so extensively. Now my dear lovely owlettes know to talk with their docs, and choose wisely like the wise owls they are, Plus they can spread the word.

Chevy I'm in, those treats so yummy, yummy, yummy to the tummy. What's the recipe?
-
oh yeah, I opened my big mouth last night at the quilt guild meeting, now I'm in charge of making the new opportunity quilt. It will be for the 2017 show, so I have some time. I know what I want, different size blocks which will have embroidery designs with flowers and some blocks with appliqué blocks of various sizes too. I just need to find a quilt that I like the layout and then get lots of people to help. Kind of like this but bigger. And I want batiks sashing around each one.

-
Spookie, you need to check out the insurance links LLoyd's is considered a bad faith company. Learned allot today. I have a quote request out to Chubb. The comparison shopping that I did prior to today, is all going to be pitched. Statefarm, AAA, Liberty Mutual, People's Trust, all in the trash.
BTW CHEVY--any dates that we can put on the calendar yet?
Smarrty, nice, very nice. Congratulations
!!! -
Morning all, well it is Saturday morning here.

Just flying through and catching up on reading.
Big hugs
-
NSAIDS interesting, but how often to take it and how much . Don't remember reading that in the article. How much over weight? Does 10 lbs count?
-
Alyoop, bless you, hope the bones are treating you better today.
Remeber the next time you get to Ontario, Tronoto area right? Our Enerva is in Missisauga.Sailing bless you too, if I were ten pounds overweight I would be 130 lbs. I would have to lose 70 (really 80) to be 10 lbs overweight. Oh, I do remember those days. The real thing about NSAIDS is the anti-inflammatory affect. The study parameters were likely obesity and NSAIDS. But inflammation in the body has such a negative impact on healthy cells and systems.
BUT now remembering the Black Box warning with NSAIDS regarding stroke, heart attack and GI bleeding/ rupture risk. I'm just a bundle of joy raining all over NSAIDS. Found this link. What's nice, is it lists all the drugs under the classification of NSAIDS.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK53952/
I lost part of my colon in 2001 b/c of Celebrex. Could be why,, I'm not a fan?
-
well just want to wish you all a great weekend, I have been crocheting. And now watching a sad movie lol
Ps I love you. What a sad movie.
Anyway good night

-
My neighbor pulls dogs from shelters just before they are scheduled for being put to sleep. So she saved 5 dogs minutes before they were set for euthanasia. She lined up a rescue, but they can't get here until Monday morning. So the neighbors, me included, are housing these precious fur babies until Monday. The little terrier I got is so sweet. He was caged since August 7. Tears in my eyes as I watched him run freely around my back yard. He ate his dinner so fast and has been sleeping so deeply. Of course my girls see him as an intruder trying to steal their mommy. So I separated off a part of my kitchen for the little guy and found a bed for him. I'll post a pic from my iPhone. I think I'll name him Ziggy.
-
-
Oh Paws! Can't you keep him? I just want you to keep him... PLEASE! Bless YOU for taking care of those critters!
Smarty, that is the same computer I have!!!!!!!!! And I really do love it! Actually I tried to save some of my Documents to a Flash Drive, but I saved the "shortcut" of Documents, and not the actual Document folders!
Any way, there was nothing that critical that I needed to save!
I just downloaded my iTunes, Picassa, and even my Nook books and Norton from the Web, and they are on my new set-up! I had so much "junk" on there, that I didn't need, and I don't miss, what I didn't get to my new computer. Same with all my "downloads"..... And I had 3 picture programs!
I figured even if I did transfer some of them over, they might be corrupted, and I just wanted to keep a "clean" computer.
Cammi, just hang with us here! I don't usually mean to sound so intelligent, but sometimes I just HAVE to... don't say a word. You just want me to be gardening, and chickin' sittin' and not talk technical stuff.....
Oh wait! Smarty, my recipe for that snack-mix, was just throw everything in together that you like! Dark Chocolate covered anythings, dried fruits, and coconut, cranberries, apricots, pineapple chunks, and mango pieces! And plain almonds or even dark chocolate covered ones.... or Walnuts! Yogurt covered raisins are good too.... This last batch I made, I used Peanut M&M's! If you only eat a handful once in awhile, like once a day, you will find it makes you happy! Ha, ha! That's probably all it does....
Enerva.... don't go watchin' sad movies.... I just like happy ones....
SailingWind! I just can't reMEMBER you! I had to look up what they were talking about too! I take Aleve once in awhile, because if you take 2, like it says, it lasts all the damn day! Or night! And you don't have to take pills every 4 hours...
I know you are not supposed to mix Tylenol and Aleve... Nope, don't do that.... But Aleve worked better for me, for that broken bone stuff, than Oxycodone.... And it doesn't mess you up, like the other drugs. That isn't exactly technical talk, but you know what I mean.
-
good morning owls! Been awake since 4:30 a.m. (d*mn foot & leg cramps) and it seems to have taken me two hours to read through all the posts from this week. OK I did have a couple cups of coffee and read the newspaper too so maybe it only took an hour LOL.
welcome Anita, is there anyone else new?
Susan, you are beautiful and rock the 'do.
Blessings, thanks for several excellent posts, you ARE a blessing. Great description of the slot-machine word search in the brain - right on!
Thanks for all the kind words about my dad. His mom had Alz too but back then they didn't know about that, they called it hardening of the arteries in the brain.
Alyson, good to see you, best wishes for less RH pain.
I know I'm missing a lot of people so ((hugs)) to all. ♥
-
Littlegoats.... this is for you.... I couldn't post the picture, but the link worked!
-
Good Morning all.....

I am so far behind, but wanted to check in.
Sas, thanks for the PM & insurance info....I have been thrifting a little. I got a Norwegian, painted ( says silkscreen ) bread type trivet. It shows wheat being planted, harvested...cute & artsy. Also got a little Homer Laughlin harvest looking dish. How do you figure out what is what in glass? I have plenty of serving type dishes, relish trays. I usually do not even look at the glass much, cause I do not know what is "good" & what is cheap. I did buy a very heavy feeling candy/relish dish a few months back.
Susan, thank-you for forwarding the card... How are you feeling ? When I was sick, I was annoyed when someone would ask me that, cause I wanted to scream, "I feel like chit". Your photos are lovely, hat & no hat...
Badger, tonic water for your cramps, maybe help, it has quinine in it. I no longer like tonic, I did until a few years back. Not a good way to start the weekend.
DH is doing well, had Dr. Appt, got staples out. Hopefully the staph does not come back. He will be in IV antibiotics for another 3-4 weeks.
I have not been able to get moving on fixing the basement. Too many decisions, paint the big room, cause its bright yellow, before the new carpet gets laid ? I have not done anything beside wash all the towels & rugs. It's been 10 days....I am a slug when it comes to house stuff. Get out of the house, to do whatever, my energy level goes up.
Blessings, how it going?
Phylissdoingchemo, are you hanging in there?
Cami, are you having another Italian 16 hour party? Smelling good or feeling floppy?
-
ok Smaarty, here ya go. These were taken at the end of my street. The island is called Caladise, after the Native Americans who were here first. You can only get there by boat.

-
Spookie, I am jealous....beautiful
-
Good Morning owl.
Getting a late start today, don't know why, Oh yes I do--I'm lazy.
Hole I'm glad u'r DH is doing better.
Oh I forgot what everyone wrote, just hope everyone is doing OK.
I misspelled my word--it's floopy, not floppy LOL--I did take a shower this morning using Forever sunshine??? It just smell clean nothing specific but clean is what I like LOL-maybe this is good when I don't take a shower. Not so floopy today--had some calls this morning so I was working a little.
I'll be back, but I hope everyone had a nice day---we're supposed to get rain here, who knows, not even the weatherpeople.
HUGS to all

Anyone here taking femara? If so, how long before side effects, if any? I've only taken 3 doses and could hardly get out of bed. Just wonder if this is normal.
