Oh for God's Sakes! WHO can see that
Cammi? I mean I held my nose up close, and could NOT read that! OMG
Little Gardens.....!!!! You said it, so then I knew! I even put my glasses on,
and THAT didn't help!Ha, ha! GOOD one little Grasshopper!
I was out working in my garden, and things this
morning.... I posted on the older women's, because you know, we are older.... so
I am posting HERE now.LittleDutch pushed a scooter ???? Up hill? For 4 miles?
What are you THINKING?Now wait.... Cammi will say she went out and pushed her
car straight up Lombard Street, In San Francisco, in a rain-storm at midnight.... wearing only
her flannel night-gown. With one hand...... and eating a pop-sickle......Sass.... all my problems with my hands, is gone.....
I guess it started with me using medicine to help Lacee with her hot-spots....
So I didn't know I was allergic to the ingredients in that stuff..... but it is
completely cleared up now....Even my allergies.... nothing.....!
Blueberrypie! You said Cammi is swimming? How? She
sinks like a ..... like a ... I can't think what she sinks like, because she
can't swim!Neither can I...... I used to, when I was in Junior
High.... but the ability to float has escaped me! So I am scared. I don't
even take a bath....My Daughter and Grand-son tried to drown me once..... We
were in the OCEAN, and they had this "Boogie-Board" and I got on TOP of it, and
they were holding each side, but I kept wobbling, and screaming and laughing,
and I kept telling them I was drowning, and finally my Daughter
said...."MOM..... STAND UP! YOUR FEET WILL TOUCH THE BOTTOM!!!!!" So I
did.... and that is my heart-stopping story for the day.Good luck with your taxol LittleBlue!
Hiho! Ha, ha! "Pot-laced tomatoes!" That's good! I
was NOT chasing Chickens... Just putting together an Arch, for my garden....
I'll try and post pictures.... but you know how THAT goes! And where to is this trip little Missy? Is it a secret?
Somewhere forbidden? Oh okay.... I just read more.... Take sun-screen, and
an umbrella, and a straw-hat! -
Yes, it's blurry to me too, but at least I GOT it here.....
-
Yes, this is me at the beach.... some time ago...........
-
Chvster, bee u tiful !
We posted at the same time, my trip agenda is above your post...
Dang it, how come I cannot paste & copy? I can with photos.....or copy & paste...lol...
-
Hole sounds like a great trip...hope dh is recovering enough for you to go.Blueberry-sorry you are having a rough chemo time ((hugs))
I came her to post something that I cannot say at home, but it is driving me crazy. Here goes....I HATE the way dh crunches ice and slurps his food!!!! ahhhhhh
okay thanks
-
Oh I know Tang! But at least he probably has his own teeth? My DH doesn't make noise..... or maybe I just can't hear him..... Ha!
I'm the one that crunches the ice chips.... but I hate when anyone cracks their gum!
HiHo..... you said you "drugged" your feet..... What am I supposed to do..... Just let that go by? Yeah, like THAT'S gonna happen! Ha! So how do you drug your feet?
Just curious.... Like put Valium between your toes? So you will sleep?
So glad you can play Tennis! My oldest Daughter was competitive also! Got lots of Silver plates! I do competitive pole dancing you know!
And usually the only way I can copy a picture, is to get out of AOL and go to Chrome, and then to BC.ORG, and then to Picassa, and copy and paste one of the photo's I have uploaded.... It's like just one of the hoops I jump through!
-
Chevy, great garden...love that owl and arbor !!
Holeinone...sooooooo jealous of trip..hope you have a grand time. I have been to palm desert to see that tournament twice, the name escapes me right now. We love it. Never been to a grand slam. Hope you get hot water soon, a dry basement, and a happy healthy husband soon
Enerva..you have such talent...now you have to work on sleeping...lol
Hope you r doing well phillyouttolunch...
Thanks for the updates sas
Smaarty, you look great...I never got a lawyer for ssd. It was really easy, and if I remember right, I had a number to call to listen to the progress, and a person assigned to my case I could call. And I and everyone is allowed to make "x" amount of $ and still collect. So I follow that rule too. It happened in the time frame they said. When you fill out the forms, you put your routing number in, I looked at my account and wondered where the new $ was from. They cut me the check before I got the letter in the mail that I was approved. Was shocked, since this is the govermnment we are talking about . Good luck
Went to the Milwaukee zoo today...fun fun fun...love the zoo. I am tired and in my pjs already, but it was a great day
Hello to all
-
SE suck no matter what chemo it is....sassie so grateful to have you here...

Tomorrow is the big 61 day, whatever, asked the kids if we could do dinner just the 5 of them and me, no spouses or kids, just want to bv with my kids...there are topics that I don't want to talk about not religiion o politics, granddaughters and why dil is an ass, lol, it should b interesting....oh yea not doing hospice MO doesn't thiink I am ready yet, that is a good thing I guess...
see you later....
luv u guys
-
Rachael, there are a bunch of strong, smart, silly and wonderful ladies here, and yes, you can do this. Stephanie
-
Rachel, hope you are sleeping by now. Try Susan's method and just go with the flow. Hopefully you'll find what works best for you.
Night everyone.
-

-
Morning Owlies. MammaRy thought you left us. Glad you didn't . Good luck with treatment this week. You CaN Do iTty.
Blondie HAppY BIrThDay. Yay. Hope it's fun with the five. Lol' s never know till it's over. We have a zoo in my county Brevard, that has been on a list with San Diego. St. Louis, and Cincinnati. Very small compared to them, but it has to do with a checklist of good animal things. I Should go more often. They have a tree trek thing. I want to try it. You put a repelling harness on and fly through the trees. The wire over the gators and crocs is the one that has me a bit nervous lol. Enjoy your day. Let's do this in a year okay?
-
Enerva, remember to post your new handy work. Love seeing it. You make it look so beautiful. I always get so serious. But I do so believe you could get a high price in an upscale boutique. Toronto's Young Street still the hip place to go?
HI1trip sounds fantastic. Doing a travelogue? Like Chriisyb And Alyson? Hope so.
Ally where are you?
2ratio.
Morning 3rd. How you doing after this week's treatment? Any play time scheduled.
Spookie the upholsterer has the chair ready. Lol the whole time has been about one year. I'm now ready to do more projects, and he's ready for his money. No discount with jhoda doing the frame. Gwad it'd be cheaper for sure if I didn't get attached to stuff. Also, no place to put the chair.
-
Morning Sass! Good to see you up! Bout Time!
I posted on the older women's thread to Blondie, but I wanted to post it here too.... so I just copied and pasted.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLONDIE!!!!!!!!!
"BLONDIEYOULITTLEDICKENS!!!! We just love you, and are right beside you with all this stuff going on....
Yes.... I remember when my Grandson's were 8... They just put all their love
and trust with you, because that's how they were made, and he is "part" of
you.I just know your kids will understand everything about you
wanting to spend your Birthday with only them.... Okay, but then what about
NEXT year.... Tell them if they behave, they can maybe bring their spouses.....
Ha!I just love that your attitude embraces everything that
you are going through... It's like Okay, things are not what I would LIKE them
to be, but I have to get this laundry done, so I have to take care of
it.....And your thought is, "okay.... CHEMO.... when it hurts bad
enough, I'll go DO it.... but I have to rake the leaves
first."Nope.... we don't judge you..... I just want to be like
you when things aren't looking as good as I wanted them to be...... You are in
charge of your whole life, no matter if it is 1 or 20 more years.... like we all
are.My Husband is going through this somber stuff, like when
we talk about getting a newer area rug for the living room, he says..... "Well,
we just have to wait and see if we are still HERE next year!"So I get on my little high horse and yell, "What do you
MEAN, if we are still HERE? You don't even have a COLD to worry about you are
talking about not even BEING here!!!!!!!!So I AM sympathetic, like when he is hurting, or
something, but NOT when WE get to get up every morning and face another
beautiful day, with no worries!!!!It's just hard trying to be the HAPPY one, with someone
who frets over a hang-nail!And we treasure YOU little Blondie.... every minute we get
to spend with you....Now go iron those clothes......."
-
Chevy so glad you joined us this morning. Starting the day without seeing you and Cami post just isn't the same. First thing I do in the morning is look for you and Cami.
WOW talk about a PEP talk
I was searching for an old post on the Constipation thread and came across this link that Ziggy posted. It is SO funny, I had to listen too it several times to catch all the words

A Christmas song for all my crappy friends. Sing it with me now..
there were, five, five, constipated men in the bible...
-
Sass! WTH are you talking about?
I found this for Blondie...
-
And I have no idea where Cammi is! She must be doing something REALLY important-er to pass US up!
-
Chevy WHATTTTTTTTTTttt silly girl. I was searching for an old post for someone that needed help. The post was on the constipation thread. While trying to find it, I came across this old post by Ziggy. I thought the link was very funny. Is that better?
-
Chevy -She's partying today I think. But that may have been yesterday?
-
Sas. About time that chair is done!!! As to where to put it, move the Christmas tree?
And fibro. On my fibro and PN forums, they say it's being studied from ALL disciplines. I did have the usual bloods run, and of course come back normal. Now PCP says I'm low B12. That's helping a bit. And have sleep apnea. Knew that, re confirmed with home test. Can't tolerate cpap.
-
Spookie--if I move the tree, where do I put the tree. Too much effort to take down LOL. It's soooooooooooo convenient to just turn the lights on Thanksgiving day. Or like when you any Phyliss were here it was fun to pretend. Even more special when little ones come to visit. I put presents under the tree for them. BTW what are you using your glass jar for? I'm still collecting that pattern for a friend of DS's. I was seeing a fair amount of it, now it's slowing down.
On the fibro thing, I wasn't implying that thyroid was the only source. Many things can start the cycle. I was just pissed that there is a connection historically to thyroid management. You know I love science, but sometimes it pisses me off. Too many docs have lost the ability to listen and physically evaluate patients b/c they concentrate so much on diagnostic tests. It's as if the patient becomes superfulous to the situation.
My PCP and I were talking last visit. American Heart Association has just revised---Normal ranges for BP. Roughly that's about the 6th time that I can remember changes occurring, since I got into the business in 1969. The joke RE: the CPR standards when I was teaching was "What are we teaching this year?" Same with management of cardiac arrest. We were also talking about the new ranges re: cholesterol. and use of Statins.
Change is fine as long as it DOES NO HARM. I knew from living through the time in the 70's that fibro and CFS were considered NEW. It ticked me off at the time that patients were sooooooo treated that it was all in their head----psychosomatic. I had post polio then, I was very careful who I talked to about it. Those of us that had polio all were. There was a stigma with it.
Now reading about thyroid and find that docs were managing s/s's of CFS and fibro for years and decades by actually listening to the patients, and only after a man made test did they decide these problems couldn't be from faulty cell work. It was arrogance on the medical communities part. Does that make it clearer why it irritates me?

Blondy happy birthday 🎂

good morning ladies.
Enerva. - wow love the tops. So much talent from so many ladies in here. Is the back complete or still working on it ? I hope it is complete it is just so sexy. You are beautiful. Haven't seen any walking pics lately , still walking ?
Blondie - happy happy birthday. Hope you have a great day. I think it is wonderful it will just be you and kids. Sounds like a memorable day. Love that your mo doesn't think it's time for hospice yet. That's encouraging.
Susan - glad you got to go yo the zoo. I love the zoo. My dh and ds tske me to the zoo on mothers day every year. It's Ben our tradition since our very first mothers day. Keep saying we have to change the day for this tradition. The animals are always hot and lazy. When we go in the spying or fall the animals are up doing all kinds of things. I could stay all day at the zoo.
Mammaray - re new treatment - you can so do this !!! We got your back. Hang around , keep posting and let us encourage you ok
333 - aha your back. I think I got you and mammaray confused. Are you the one that helps with a special needs grandson and also have a mom and mil in the nursing home ? I kept asking mammaray questions about it. She must have thought I was crazy. Nope , just confused.
Hio - a trip alone sounds great. Def just what you need after all this stress lately.
Chevy - what are you doing posting in the "older womens" thread ? You do not qualify !! Ok maybe in age and wisdom only but you sure don't act/talk like an older woman. I am sure those older ladies love you like we do but you cant post there first. No way.
2nd / hugs
Cami - are u sleeping in ?
Hello to all I have missed Hope you have a great day.
Hootie hoo

Weather is so nice that people there wear next to nothing lol
-
oh Enerva, you are beautiful AND talented!
hi owls, been reading and catching up. Lots going on. ((hugs))
I wanted to share my dad's story, as it relates to things several here are going through. He picked up a staph infection while sharpening surgical instruments at a hospital. You know how guys will test blade sharpness by licking their thumb then running it over a blade? Well that's what he did, and apparently one of the instruments still had a trace of staph, which then got into his bloodstream. It congregated at and decimated the mitral valve of his heart. One night he didn't finish his potatoes at supper and mom knew something was wrong (dad was diabetic and ate everything she allowed him to eat). Took him to the ER where he was admitted and scheduled for heart surgery the next day. Once discharged, he was on antibiotics via PICC line for weeks afterwards.
The surgery was successful but the anesthesia hastened the degenerative process of Alzheimer's disease. Mom took care of him at home for another four years, not an easy task. As he got worse it wore her down but she didn't want to put him in assisted living. (We didn't know how bad it was until after he'd passed and mom shared some stories.) The issue was settled when he fell and broke his hip. More surgery, more brain scramble. Mom's doc put his foot down and said you cannot bring him home. Let me be the bad guy and order discharge to rehab, which is what happened. From there he went to memory care, where he lived for two years.
His body was relatively healthy but his brain was not. The last time I saw him, we chatted pleasantly but I discovered later he hadn't a clue who I was. But he knew mom and I was with her so I was OK. That broke my heart but I came to understand that in his mind I was a little girl and he didn't recognize the nice gray-haired lady who came to visit.
They had nursing home insurance but it wouldn't pay for memory care because it wasn't considered skilled nursing. Mom dipped into her IRA's and laid out a huge chunk of change for his care.
Now mom has moved from FL to WI to be closer to me, and is 15 minutes from where I work. It's independent living with assisted living in the same bldg. They also have a memory care facility but I don't think she'll need that as the Alz runs in my dad's side of the family. It's a nice place to live and she can afford it but it takes all her soc sec and pension so we budget any extras very carefully.
I'd better post this so it doesn't disappear! ♥ to all
-
Happy birthday Blondie. The big one is for you, we each get a cupcake. (Now that's making me want a cake!)
Enerva, is the top pattern on Utube? If so can you post it? I'd like to make one before my cruise. What kind of yard are you using?
I should take the Gkids to the zoo before school starts. Like going.
Blessings, thanks for the tips. I'll start playing with smoothies and see what I can do and like.
Everyone be good, if not then have fun. BBL
-
Badger thanks for sharing. Alz runs in my mom s side and I had such hard time with my mom
I wish there was a cure for it. It's so nice when family care so much. I see many elderly people in my building and they are on their own.
I hope your mom is well for many many years
