Hi girls!!!  I'm back!!!  Feeling soooo much better now but still get really tired very quickly when I get a little too active.......I guess that means a little while longer taking it easy......lol.

I always tell the blood suckers to use a fine needle for blood draws and that is no problem but the problem starts when they have to get a larger vein to take the pressure of the contrast being pushed into the vein........my fine veins just pop as they are not strong enough.......blah!!!

Lisa I laughed out loud when I read that you went to our favorite place for pies!!!  I so wish we could go there together again........and I won't say a word!...hahahahaha!  I think that promontory of land will always stay in my memory as the drive to it and the views from it were magnificent!  Thanks for the pics giving me another view.

Awe 3jays thanks for the Anniversay and birthday wishes.  Yes, I'm being a good girl.....lol......even to the point of asking DH to come help with the grocery shopping!  Oh no!  Not another systemic infection!  I really don't know how you cope sometimes but knowing you, you just get on with it.

LillyRose yay for #7!  On the down hill stretch now and you will be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel soon!  Take care and just do what you gotta do to get through.

Nancy so glad you finally got your own bed over to the house!  There is nothing like sleeping in your own comfy bed.  Now with the extra sleep aides and the comfy bed there will be no reason for not getting a good nights sleep.  Yay! for DD being off the crutches and I bet she is pleased as well.  I love seeing the little ones as well, they just have such an innocent outlook on life which cheers me no end.

Oh WOW Barbe!  That house is gorgeous!!!  I have everything crossed that everything goes to plan for you and you get your present house sold so the new will become home.  How is the market where you are now?  I so hope it is buoyant enough to get your sold. Like the others, my concern would be the stairs but if your knees are good then what the hell!

Kathy I laugh each time I read that you need to wake your DH for bed......I used to do that all the time but now if he doesn't move after the second time and I want to go to bed then he just gets a blanket thrown over him and he comes to bed when he's ready......lol.

Carole you see s o many fabulous nature things, I think I want to be where you are!  I just love seeing animals in the wild.  Wow!  A cow nursing a fawn?  How precious!  Maybe the cow lost her calf or maybe she just started mothering the fawn in any case its just a wonderful thing to see.

Leah, think of you and hope you and yours are staying safe.

I think I'm caught up......lol......miss a couple of days and it all happens!

Take care, stay safe and enjoy life as it comes!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Glad to hear you are feeling better Chrissy. Carole, how clever of your DH to watch for the Mommy dear. I wonder what happened to her....

If I have a bathroom on the same floor as my bed, I never have to go downstairs if I can`t. That is what I look for. So really, I only have to use the stairs to go down in the morning and back up at night. That is doable right now. If not later, there are two rooms on the main floor tucked away that could easily be a master bedroom. The market in our area is super strong and the season is about to start again. Always slows down for summer but now heats up big time. There are very, very few houses for sale right now and we want to be one of them. Have been killing myself staging and am ready for the pics next week. Will post our mls.ca link when we have it.

Meant to say about the market. That is one of the reasons we bought now. The house had been on the market since February and they were listed at $200,000 first (which is still good!!). Because they got no bites, they lowered to $177,900 and then accepted our offer of $172,500. We never would have gotten that if they had just listed. As for us, we are going in just under market value to sell quickly or even get multiple offers. Our house will show better than even the more expensive ones because of our updates. The other houses look tired. Ours is recently done. This is the only thread I am talking about this on, so I have to remember it`s you gals I have to update!

Yes please Barbe I would love to see your house via the listing link!  I love the new one and I can imagine what it will be like once you have all your things there and you have done your 'thing' to make it individually yours.  I bet it will look fabulous!!

Barbe, I look forward to seeing your house when it's listed, too.  Years ago I had a real estate license.  Always liked looking at other people's houses!

It's warming up to 81 degrees F here today.  Don't know what the C equation is.  Most of the weekenders here at the resort (campground) have taken their boats out into the middle of the lake where they'll cool off in the water and drink whatever beverages they prefer.  We were invited to go along, plus could take out the little pontoon boat we're free to use, but we avoid the direct sunlight in our old age.  We both get skin cancers.

Found some nice veggies at the farmers' mkt today.  MN gardens are finally producing.  DH and I both enjoy home-grown veggies.

Carole I have avoided direct sunlight for years........my skin just goes red and then back to white again......lol.  That sort of thing was very disappointing as a teenager when all the rage was to be bronze and beautiful........lol......but that trying to follow the trend damaged my skin and I paid for it once I hit 50 and all these skin cancers popped up in places that were so prominent  I needed plastic surgery to remove and repair them.

The converter ion of 81 F is 27C.......perfect!  Not too hot and not too cold.......if summer here were that temp I would love it!....lol.  Unfortunately we can have days at 110+F.....now that is melting temps and I thank God I have an air-conditioner!

    Enjoy your day!

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

I am always amazed at how much difference the humidity makes in how the temperature affects us. 80 F can be pleasant with little humidity and horrible with a lot. In San Diego it was  rare to have high humidity but now the warm humid air is arriving more and more often from Mexico. It prompted us about 10 years ago to put in central air conditioning. We really don't use it very much,  but it really makes a difference with the monsoonal.air. We are lucky in that our temperatures always cool off at night. ⛵

I HATE humidity!!! I know people who LOVE the sweat running down the back of their neck.... HATE it. Did I mention I HATE humidity??? We run our AC only when it get`s too humid as dry heat is easier to handle and breathe in, but humid air chokes me up.

We golfed in Las Vegas once and I got my DH a tee shirt that has a skeleton on it holding a golf club mid-swing and it says `But it`s a DRY heat`......

Love, love, love cooler evenings....!!! Great sleeping weather!

Lisa, San Diego is reputed to have the most ideal weather in the US.  And you're right about the humidity factor.  Humid is not comfortable.

Today it's cooler.  Our thermometer indicates it's 64 degrees outside.  The sky is overcast and it's gloomy, with chance of rain throughout the day.  But tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and mild, more perfect weather.

Today I'm off to the Laundromat with a BIG bag of quarters.  I gather up laundry every two weeks and go to a nice Laundromat in town.  I'm hoping that everyone else with laundry to do doesn't have the same idea today!

Chrissy, feel better. That sort of stuff can throw you for a loop - even someone as resilient as you!

I want to thank everyone for your good wishes. Things are tense now and will probably continue to be, but we're managing.

Leah, I pray that you and your family continue to stay safe.  The conflict seems to have gone on forever and shows no sign of a solution, and I know we're all so concerned about  you and your family.

We kept our oldest grandchild, Logan, today for the last time since he starts kindergarten tomorrow.  I know we can keep him for teacher workdays and during vacations, etc, but this is sort of an end to the way things have been.  She who complained so much about keeping him all the time when we kept him 5 days/ week found herself getting a bit teary this afternoon.  At least I'm in better shape than DIL!  It's always hard when they first go to school.

My 65th birthday's coming up in January and I've been inundated with mail regarding medicare supplemental insurance.  It's a bit frightening to learn just how many companies have access to our personal data.

Hope all are well and had a good weekend.

    Kathy

I had a fun afternoon with friends Sunday. We went to The Sound of Music, being shown at a beautifully restored movie theater, the Alabama. They even had the old Wurlitzer organ come out of the floor and play before and during intermission. Of course, we have all seen this movie many times, but seeing it on the big screen with all the familiar songs, was awesome.  Such a nice afternoon!  Wilsie

Oh Leah I do hope that things can settle down and return to peaceful times.......you and your are in my thoughts and prayers.  Stay safe.

Kathy it's hard when your own children start school but when your grands do?!!!  Oh boy!!!!  I hear you shedding a tear or two, I did that when my grands, who lived with me, went to school and again when they graduated to high school.  I struggled at the beginning of this year as my eldest grandson started University.  All these occasions just reinforce that we are indeed becoming the older generation.

Barbe how is the how selling going!  I'm keeping everything crossed that it all goes to plan for you.

Wilsie I love 'The Sound Of Music'!!!!  It is such a classic movie and watchable over and over again.  That old restored theater with the Wurlitzer sounds magical and would indeed make for a wonderful outing......glad you enjoyed yourself.

I've started on the second lot of anti B's as the first was not enough.....grrrr!  I do hope that this lot does the trick and sends the infection on its way very quickly. It's still cold with the nights down to freezing but the little fire in the dinning room is doing its job masterfully and keeping the house warm enough that I can just have a long sleeve T on.  Spring is not far away as the Almond trees are beginning to blossom......lol.....it always fascinates me that they are the first trees to blossom and always in the coldest part of the year!  Hoping you are still enjoying summer.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Am listing our house today and pics will be done by the agency. I will post when they are live. Staging has been killing me, I still have to do my sewing room!!!! AND finish laying a tile floor in the basement bathroom. We put in a new low-flow toilet and decided to lay new peel and stick tiles and my DH started and now I have to finish.....feeling a bit overwhelmed here....

Oh Barbe that is such a lot still to do and I can understand why you are feeling overwhelmed.........wish I were closer to give you a bit of a hand.......can't lay tiles anymore but I can clean and sort a sewing room......lol.  Can't wait to see the pics for the listing.  Hang in there, you will be done soon.

When the Sound of Music premiered in San Diego, I escorted around the actress that played the oldest girl. Lots of excitement. that was in 1965 I think, then a couple of years ago I sat next to one of the later Von Trapp children at my husband's college reunion at Dartmouth. I think he was class of 1963. At any rate it was fun talking with him..

Lisa, that would have been VERY cool! Sound of Music and Lady and the Tramp were the only two movies I saw growing up until I was old enough to go on my own!

Chrissy, I AM done. My back is done, not the rooms! Took the strongest narcotic I have and still drive to the mortgage broker. My husband is off golfing and will meet me there. Can I say I am bitter? He had an opportunity to golf $$ and no, I didn`t stop him....so I am bitter at myself!!!!

How cool was that Lisa!  I remember watching a special that was televised some years ago on the Von Trapp children and where they were at that time.  Like all of us they have aged and a lot of them gone by now but I guess they will always be remembered by history if not the people.

Oh Barbe I do hope you can get a change to have a nice long epsom salt bath to ease your back muscles and perhaps ease your pain a little.....there is nothing worst than back pain, it can be really debilitating and if you are a bit stressed about anything it makes it feel ten times worse.  Hope all went well with the broker.

Almost ready for bed.....it is after all 2.21am so I should be ready for bed.......lol.  The problem is I slept late yesterday now and I have been on the computer almost since I got up researching cameras.  I am biting the bullet and have finally chosen the one I want.  It's the new Fuji X-E2 mirrorless DSLR.  I can't wait to get it and I think I have enough saved to get two lenses as well......I am excited!!  It will probably take a couple of weeks to get here as it is from Hong Kong and has to go through customs etc so maybe even three weeks.........customs have been known to be a bit slow sometimes but I will be patient......I think.....lol.

Hope you are all doing okay!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

I am retiring from real estate October 1st, one of the most stressful jobs you can imagine. So hard to keep everyone happy. I will miss it, but plan to fill my days with fun things I haven't been able to do for the past 15 years. When you are a Realtor, people think you are on duty 24/7!  Wilsie
