Does anyone remember these McDonald giveaways..
-
I do. Weren't they around late 70's. Seems like my roommate in my first apartment in 79 had a couple of the glasses and she and my boyfriend had worked there in high school.
-
yes......
-
This fell off of my favorite topics. What's up with that????
Anyone remember this? Everything seemed so simple back then. LOL
-
I remember that well! Still amazes me to this day that packaging a rock just right made some guy so wealthy.
-
I don't think that would fly today leggo. Maybe if it had a keyboard attached in some way to monitor the health.
-
Remember these.....never owned on......there was not enough colors for my moods......LOL
-
I still have my mood ring!
-
Ducky, my toddlers had those McDonald's plates and cups in the early '80s. We still have some of them.
I hate to admit it but I did own some of those dorky mood rings. Lots of my friends had them as well. It's amazing what we considered "cool" back then. How times have changed.
-
notagaintoo - "It's amazing what we considered "cool" back then. How times have changed."... That reminded me of this (that I stole from somewhere) and it's oh, so true!
-
So true AZ.
I had mood rings. I never got the pretty colors my friends would get.
-
Ohhhhh, Az. I like it! I'm going to steal it as well. It is so true. I think back to some of the dumb stuff I did as a kid and then as a teen and I'm surprised I'm still here!
-
Me either Slow........is that because I was always in a "shitty mood"........LMAO......
-
LOL Ducky. I wondered that myself.
-
Remember these guys? I had a huge crush on cute little Ricky. I have pretty good gay-dar, even as a kid. Did not see that one coming.
-
Leggo..........LOL......who are they...........ok showing my age.........and had kids you would think I would kow who they are.............
-
I think that is Ricky Martin in the middle ducky...at least it looks like him and the "gaydar" comment makes me think I am right.
-
Thanks April...............Now I know who Ricky Martin is.............new what the "gay" was, but was not sure who the "guy" was...............
-
Does anyone remember 1950's full dresses, when we all had tiny waists......LOL
-
ducky, those dresses are so pretty and classy in comparison to the slutty dresses girls go to prom in these days. Thanks for sharing...love them!
No teenage girl should be wearing dresses like these!
-
April trust me even some of those dresses you just showed are mild compared to a few I have seen at my grandchildren's proms.......ok red dress grandaughter's Sr. Prom.......black dress.....Jr. Prom.......certainly not a 50's dress.....LOL and trust me hers was modest.......
-
She is a beautiful girl and I guess these days the motto is "If ya got it, flaunt it!" She can get away with those dresses I guess cause she has a cute figure but some of them...not so much! LOL
-
I had white boot skates and was a reasonable skater.
Lots of the things you lot post I don't recognise because in the 60s NZ was a very isolated place and extremely goveremt controlled. My US aunt sent me a Girlfriend magazine when I was I had polio and when my mother tried to get them for me she had to fill on an import request and explain why she wanted it. At that time you could only buy a new car of you had overseas currency and had to apply to bring it into the country which sometimes took years.
We got TV in 1963 which was soon after it started here so I do know most of the TV programmes that have been mentioned.
Ducky I so love those 50s dresses and really wanted one and the petticoat that went with it. I was just too young and so by the time I was allowed to have a longer skirt the hems went up and dresses became slimmer. My sister and SiLs had them.
By the time I was about 17 the hems went way up and I wore minis and then at university I became rather hippie with long hair and skirts and I protested which might surprise a few.
-
Just for a laugh.
Two of my favourite dresses sent from USA, approx 1954 and 1957
1965 approx - I had been ill for four years and was actually very thin.
1967 there had been an argument about the hat and it was probably the last time I wore a hat to church. Then 1974/5 wish I could find the full length one as the skirt was really short.
-
Alyson! What fun to see these photos of you at so many different times in your life. You were/are lovely! Thanks for sharing!

Oh Mema, I love beer, but I never cared for Lone Star. I can remember a place when I was in my late teens that had 25 cent Lone Star longnecks at happy hour and I wouldn't even drink it when it was only a quarter.

Dating myself again-legal was eighteen, not twenty-one then!
