Barbe, I had symptoms like that and they thought it may be temporal arteritis. I had biopsy done and it was not.  Please see if you can get eye specialist sooner.  It had me scared to death, so I know what you are going through. Hope its no biggie that they can fix with rx   Wilsie

Today I had my third heat treatment. Before going I felt like a sword or knife through mid chest to back and left scapula and ribs. Today they turned me to my side and hit that area. Afterwards 50% pain gone! Tomorrow I begin radiation and continue the heat treatments. First time to be radiated!

Well PTL re: the heat treatment.  I pray that it will continue to alleviate pain.  Radiation, for me, was a piece of cake for the most part following chemo, but I know it's not for everyone.  May our Father hold you closer.

Okay, my lungs are fine, but the CT only showed a .3 cm thingy in the coronal view of the tentorium cerebelli. My onc is desperate for me to get an MRI but I cannot due to my pacemaker. She is even talking of taking the pacemaker out to do the MRI!! I see a neurologist on August 5th to see what the next step is. She gave me strong narcotics to battle the pain, so I am back into THAT loop again...sigh.

Barbe,  so glad you updated us.  Well, good news that the lungs are fine at least!  It does seem your doctor really wants you to have the MRI but (talking without knowing what I'm talking about) would it be feasible to remove the pacemaker long enough to have it?  I honestly don't know.  I'll be praying that you can get an appointment sooner than Aug.5, too, as that long a delay really adds so much to the emotional stress.  Prayers for you, my friend, always.

ladies. I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you. Meece, barbe, hindsfeet and for Doug.

The pacemaker could be removed with surgery, but then what about the wires into my heart? Do those have to come out too? It would be a last resort I am sure. Getting the pacemaker back in is quite painful, so I would demand to be out this time. They only froze me locally and it was horrific!!!! Then, I would need a second surgery to put the pacemaker back in, so I can see this only being done as an in-patient....

Barbe, I hope you don't have to go through all that. The "thingy" must be worrisome, surely there is another way to see it.   I have had you on my mind.

Home from Iowa, sure was a nice visit with my sister. She in 76, and can run circles around me. She teaches dog agility and is on the go all the time. I am worn out!  Am determined to get myself in better shape, in spite of my hip. Wilsie

Barbe, I'm glad you got a quicker appointment.  At least that's a little less waiting time.  My word, I had no idea of all that would be necessary to remove the pacemaker, and I really think the wires into the heart would have to go too, since they're metallic.  I hope they can find an easier way to access the problem and see what's going on.

Wilsie, sounds like you had a good visit with your sister!  Glad you had fun.

SchoolCounselor, thanks for the prayers for Doug, and also to all of you who're praying for him.  He got a port yesterday and has the first chemo on Tuesday.  I saw him Sunday and he's lost so much weight.

Hindsfeet, hope you're doing as well as possible and getting good treatment.  Praying for you too.

There is a lot to cover but late now. I would asked for prayer for bone mets to the spine. I can't carry my purse. I am in constant back pain.

Pray for a young girl, age 21, who is ridden with cancer. She so wants to live. Her name is jasmine. She is so sweet, and losing hope.

Pray for another friend of mine, who has 3 teenagers who just found out she has invasive cancer, good size tumor and in nodes...said to be aggressive. She is overwhelmed. Right now, only a few people know about her diagnosis. She is trying to understand what is going on.

Love you guys...glad Barb for you and pray your surgery goes well. We all have challenges to face, but know our redeemer lives, and will walk with us through this steep upward climb. I trust He will meet all our needs.

I haven't been here for soo long..

Not doing that well, but my goodness, I was so sad when I finally caught up with all of your troubles!!!

Although I haven't been able to check in, I do pray every day for the "garden" thread..

I know our God knows who needs it the most.

I will be here more often, no matter how the day goes, there's just too much going on to not be here.

Your all in my prayers.  I will be continuing to pray.

I have gotten so fond of Matt, Meece, a baby is a wonderful thing, no matter it didn't happen as we as we all would've chosen.. .

I know this isn't the woman we were all praying he would end up with. But, our God is an awesome and can turn things for the good, with our prayers.!!

I wish you blessings with a difficult DIL, pregnant, as well. and Matt will have the child he always wanted. My prayer is that she works on her jealousy with your family. It seemed to me that's the biggie with her. You'll be the "granny" this baby will need, I'm sure.

Again, My prayers are with you all. I make a good prayer warrior, 'cause I still am not sleeping much, pray late at night. It does bring me closer to Him, as well...

Bless you all thru this difficult time. My prayers are with you all..

Thank you all for your prayers.  I have been away as a lot has been happening.  DS3 and his wife went to visit Patch and Lala and their parents.  They convinced them to let them bring Patch back 11 days before they were to arrive for a visit.  That was too long for a mama to be away from her 3 yr old so I offered (and DS&DIL accepted) to fly DIL and Lala out here 6 days early.  I picked up Patch from DS3's and spent a whole day with just him and Gammer the day before we drove 120 miles to pick DIL up at the airport.

DIL was different, but that seems to go with the territory.  DS3's wife treats me horrible, and I finally found out that she spent the visit with them bashing me, and DS1's wife fell into it.  DH says that Matt's wife might have the opportunity to be the favorite DIL lol!  It hurts so much!

DH and I have set a goal to be the best Gammer and PawPaw that Matt's children could have.  I want a good relationship with DIL and want it starting from here with honesty.  I am being included as much as I can be and for that I am grateful.

Please pray for me as the pain of having two DIL's who wish to break up this family is almost unbearable.  Each one is happy to be the center of attention, but does not want people around them to get along with each other.  DH finally got upset when they accused him of something untrue.  At least he knows now what I have been going through.

I will continue to pray for each of you as you also have burdens.

Meece, that is so heartbreaking! It's a battle you can never win, for if you contest it, the "charges" will stick even harder for your efforts. I do know how you feel, but it's my own kids that have given me that pain and not the in-laws. I was thinking 11 days was way too long for a separation too! Glad to see it got shortened.

Thank you for understanding, Barbe.  It means a lot when someone can actually see my point.  Yesterday I had lunch with DS3.  I think that is the best way to actually interact with him.  I just need to keep the line of communication open.

Meece, my heart goes out to you with 3 DIL's.  I have only one and have become quite adept at biting my tongue since she is the key to the grandchildren! It's wonderful that you and Patch had a day together all to yourselves, too.  I'm sorry your DH was hurt but glad that he finally understands what you've been enduring.  Prayers continue for you, as well as Hindsfeet and Barbe, and indeed for each of you on this thread!
