Yes, those "celebrities" like the Kardashians are all just in it for the money! I don't have any idea how women can ACT like that in front of the camera! I know it is all staged, or a lot of it, but they all act like little Tramps! They don't care... Even the "housewives" of wherever... The Kardashian Wedding was supposed to be the biggest of all time, but those people, the whole family, are just a mess! ANYthing for a buck, and more publicity.... Same for that little Boo-boo family....
What a waste of time!
Yes Starbucks.... We walk through where "old" Elitch's was... They redeveloped that old amusement park, and built all different types of housing! But the trees have grown up so beautifully! And the Homeowners have fixed up their little front garden areas, and it is just so pretty, and peaceful... A little park, even senior housing, AND a "Commune" type of living.... I worked at Elitch's when I was 15, 16.... So this area is just "home" to me.... We are probably some of the oldest ones around, Ha!
Except for Theresa, and she just turned 90!

spookie, I am sorry they are doing that with the houses. I still have my dogs ashes and my mom s. I keep thinking I need to find a nice cemetery but I just can't seem to be ready. I may sound crazy but it's makes me feel as if they are still with me in a way. I totally get why you are so upset
sending you hugs.
-
spookie, sorry about your dad's work. We have several pets in the backyard, we can never move!
This is my youngest at 3 mos. it's his birthday today turned 39, the only kid out of about 45 born on a holiday. Going to put this on Facebook to embarrass him! That's what moms do best!
-
Hip-hop five hundred . Until I get a new computer, I am not going to correct the auto correct.
It will be interesting.
Maddy, thanks for all the computer info. Sorry about your crybaby. ( furbaby)
-
SAS, I think you need a blog. Then you could put your research on the blog and just mention you've posted about such and such on here.
Spookiesmom, I don't blame you for feeling upset. It's hard enough to see a house torn down. With your dog buried there, it's really tough. Hugs.
-
Yes Wren! I had mentioned that to Sass twice.... Only I said she needs her own web-site... a blog is better, right?
Smarty.... you wouldn't DARE, would you?
Yes, I'll bet you already did! Ha, ha!
DH brought home 6 eggs! 6 EGGS mind you! So I'm fixing them "stuff" to take over in the morning... I made the BEST egg salad to take up for our "picnic" today! I just hard-boiled older "fresh" eggs, let them sit in cold water, then dumped water out, and shook them up good in the pan, then peeled them! THIS time the egg peels came right off! Then I cut them up, instead of mashing them, added a little Mayo, Mustard, sunflower-seeds, and diced dill pickles! And I took up bagel chips instead of bread... PLUS that out of date potato salad.... Must have been okay! She LOVED it!
I still had a dozen eggs from the LAST time I watched "the girls!" I wish I could think of more ways to USE them all! I love scrambled, with 1/2 and 1/2!..... And Rabbit-in-the-holes.... And what else can I do?
Enerva.... Lacee has her own place on our dresser... And yes... but when I pick up that little container with her ashes, it just hurts all over again... But her special place is just staying there.... so yes, she IS still with me.....
-
We are going to hit 15,000 posts. There are a 154, 131 viewings'
Chevy Rachael Ray did that shaking thing with garlic. Whole cluster. It completely peeled the gloves.

Did not mean to do it. Thought Phlosweetie was 15,000th poster on the 500th page. But apparently I tripped it.

Happy 4th of July! I have no firecrackers or sparklers....just my sparkling and paroled personality!
Spookie - I'm sorry your BIL is a goober. I'm also sorry that the whole thing is happening.
Found out from biopsy report (not pathology report) that the radiologist doing the biopsy did not see any suspicious cutaneous or subcutaneous areas near the site on my sternum. I'm hanging on to that! Hopefully he's right and I won't have to worry about skin mets.
I'm baking a cake for our dinner tonight. My BIL is grilling burgers for us.
Our CASA group walked in the Hitchcock County 4th of July Parade this morning. My feets must be lots better!

Happy 4th everyone!
Remember to stay hydrates, don't drink and drive, and get your pets in before the fireworks start!
-
The goats readily put themselves up on 4th of July. Still hoping the family up the hill has a show tonight or tomorrow night. I believe he was out mowing this morning so a good sign. Has a couple extra vehicles in driveway. He has bought some really expensive stuff in the past. It is pretty nice for early July, only about 90 out there.
Sassy - have you added owlettes to your personal dictionary? That might help and it would stop correcting you? How's computer behaving? OO - I gather still not behaving.
Yes Chevy I agree about the Kardashians. I'm not even going to look to see if I spelled that right. Have never turned on a "housewife of" program or the trashy K's or Honey BooBoo. What gets my goat (ha ha) is no station EVER broadcasts Pops Go The 4th - the Boston Pops on the Esplanade. That and they used to broadcast their Christmas concert which is absolutely darling. I guess no money in it. I know the Pops was put on last night (rather than tonight) because of the hurricane but the 1812 overture was rained out anyway.
Spookie - My dad was a mechanical engineer. I know some of the places he built buildings but no clue what they were. I know he built part of the Air Force Academy, part of the Univ. of New Mexico and Univ. of Hawaii. Would cry if I knew his buildings were torn down. I spent time recently looking on google earth at the houses we lived in. I keep meaning to find the one in Colo. Only one is not there that I know of - the one in Hawaii is gone. Dogs I have a boxer buried in El Paso and countless hamsters/gerbils. Two baby goats buried here along with my 25 year old Amazon parrot. The adult goats have to go the pet cemetery - DH and I just can't manage them.
Lucky Phyllisonthespot - 15,000 posts and 501 pages. Pretty cool those came together. What's the chance? So Phyllo - so I missed it. When was the biopsy because I thought you were still in the waiting to get 'er done yet stage? Got your paintball gun ready for any hooligans? Sparkle on!
-
Sparkle plenty owlets, it will be starting soon, the skies light up so beautifully and our furbabies get lost--the booms are starting already in yards and it's so nice to smell the BBQ's and the weather has been good today so it's happy time and most don't have to work tomorrow so really happy time.
-
One 4th of July it had rained most of the early afternoon. Damp, damp. The smell of the gunpowder in the fireworks just hung in the air of my little valley between the ridges. Looked like fog.
-
Luvgoats. PBS stations usually run the Boston Pops shows
-
-
FYI: I think there are 30 posts per page so 30 x 500 = 15,000 posts
What's left of it!
-
-
Rescheduled count, Philly did the 15,000 th post on the last post of the 500th page.
-
Maddy hugs, you forgot a zero. The count is at the bottom of the page also. At the top of the page is the forum that is linked to the forum page. The threads are listed with the viewing counts. IT overall is one of the very active threads. Like we did not know that, trying to keep up with reading. So,is warm and fuzziness..Yay teka
Little goats I keep forgetting about the library in the Kindle until I post and reread the post. Some are really funny. It is a bit difficult to leave the missed words. But I will get better at it. Then allow everyone to decipher code.
-
SAS, Be glad it's not an iphone. It's spell correct tends to change things to something sexual.
-
Sassy, thanks, made the correction. Those silly little zeroes.
Never knew about checking thread counts (and not sheet sets) from the top forum name. Learn something new every day.
-
WREN hmm the iPhone changes it to something sexual. Odd. That is done by the programmers. Correct. Wow what an observation. It would seem someone would think that was not proppper.
Maddy, between auto correct and wiping myself out by hitting the back arrow instead of the return word. Having lots of fun with this. ....those pesky zeroes.
-
Any other oddity about the numbers? Thinking lottery picks. We had 7/4/2014,500,15000,30

Ahhh... Fourth of July almost over in Cali and I didn't suffocate from the fumes or get eaten alive by skeeters.
DH BBQ'd a nice turkey and blue cheese burger (I added grilled tomatoes and grilled onions) on a soft, squishy gluten-free bun. I'd also made some cole slaw and macaroni salad, and a peach jello dessert. Of course, I fell asleep right after we ate, but did wake up enough to go out and water the back garden. DH got the front. It was 107 here today... everyone was thirsty.
Around 9 pm the fireworks started at the local high school. From our back yard, our big redwoods kind of hide them, so we took our chairs over to the neighbors across the street and watched from their driveway. They're such fun folks!
Then the big fireworks stopped, and all the little kids came out to do their own in the street. Unfortunately, our SWEET next door neighbors had some relatives who brought bottle rockets (illegal in Cali) and set one off that came all the way across the street, not to mention showering our trees and the front of our house with sparks.
DH got up and yelled "Next one the goes off like that one - we call the police!"
What's funny is that it was totally dark, and they probably think it was the neighbor yelling.
They knew they were in trouble; they were already running in the house when he bellowed at them. I expect the mom will be over tomorrow full of apologies.
Well, that's all the excitement for now.. gotta go to bed, because in my insanity, I arranged for the landscaper to show up at 9 am tomorrow morning. I'm such an idiot!
Hope all you Owlies have a nice peaceful evening!!!

Morning gals! I think I'm having trouble posting... at least I tried, and nothing happened.... I'll try once more... Okay, never mind, seems to be okay now, since I hit "preview" and part of it showed up.
Which browser are you gals using? I use AOL, but it is slow, and always hangs up... but I really like their format for email, and their "Farorites" which you can store, and also their tool-bar, which you can put your Favorite places up there, for one-click access.
I also have Chrome, and IE.... but I don't use them as much...
Maybe I just need another computer? This one is about 12 years old... I only need the tower/modem part, because this is a new large monitor...
If I bought a Mac, is that the best? But expensive?
2222T! I love the little pole-dancin' Pup....! Ha, ha!
Hope all your dogs survived another 4th!
-
Good morning having my 5th today----
I see u'r all easing me out of conversations talking about computers, but that won't work, cuz Chevy acts like she know them and tries to fit in at least I don't act like it I admit it. But I know she doesn't have a clue.
Sounds like everyone had a safe one and I'm so glad, it knocked me out, so if I'm not on tile later don/ worry just tired today, that's all.
Some Holidays I like it when it's over, this is one of them???????? Don't know why, maybe cuz it's mixed emotional type of thing. Yes I do get emotional, not often but occasionally.
-
Well, mornin' miss emotional! No, I don't know what I am talking about usually, but do we care?
I just ordered a new Dell Inspiron windows 8 computer/tower....! It has 4000 gigabytes of ram or room or something important, and maybe I will actually figure out how it works someday!
I am so tired of this old computer....!
I don't care for the 4th either.... And I can't hear a thing, so I am happy, with no noise... Didn't it scare your dog or cat?
I sounded pretty intelligent in that last post, eh? Ha, ha! You just crack me up! I can fool you, can't I?
-
Well Chevy u sounded brilliant--for a moment in time. But I'm proud of u cuz that moment will be rememberd by all.
