omg my sister had those cat glasses AND the home permanent in her 2nd grade pic. We still laugh at the picture.
I loved gulligans (sp?) island and still watch the show on one of the channels
No cabbage patch kids but got the furby for both of my children and Elmo too
Thanks for the great memories
-
I bought my first Duncan yoyo at Rogoff's on B. 116th St. in Rockaway Beach, and learned how to walk the dog pretty quickly. I could do some cool things with a yoyo.

Great thread!
These things made me happy...
-
The "Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific" & "Kissing Potion" sure bring back teenage memories. I can remember exactly how the shampoo smelled & how the cinnamon & bubble gum gloss tasted.
-
LULU.........Welcome.........love you memories.....us to roller skate when I was 13.......I was in the Jr. competition....however we wore skates call Precision skates that had wooden wheels.......They did not move by themselves......you had to push off to make yourself move......
-
Who remembers these...
-
has anyone posted this? hours and hours of fun!!!!
and I LOVED gilligans island!!!!
-
OMG Lulubelle, I spit my coffee this am when I saw your post! The Bay City Rollers!!!!
S -A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night. Stupidest song ever written, but I LOVED IT! LOL.....memories. We worked out dance routines on our roller skates to that song.

Slow, your picture made me giggle! Nap time.....or note-passing time.....or whatever, but never ever watching the tv.
-
OMG, ducky, I had those sandal skates, but mine were red! You had to move the button on the side forward or back to get the wheels to drop or retract and they weighed like twenty pounds! LOL! I'd forgotten all about those!
-
Another thing that's kind of made a come back.....my boys had these, called Heelys. Blew my mind that they could skate around on their heels.
Got them to school faster! -
I absolutely adored the Bay City Rollers! WOW....I had forgotten all about them!! I used that Kissing Potion lip stuff too!! WOW!!
-
My uncle used to let me work in his store that looks just like this one!
-
mema, reminds me of Ike's store on Little House On The Prairie.
This seemed suitable for a MEMORY thread:
-
BIG fireworks excitement when we were kids!!!!! .... But the next day all you had was a bunch of black turds and ash marks on your sidewalk.....
-
Blessings - Snakes! I loved those things! They made a big mess on the sidewalk or driveway or wherever you set them on fire, but they were kind of cool to watch, in a creepy sort of way. Man, that brings back some memories!
-
Thanks for the youtube AZ. I've never seen, let alone heard of Snakes. And I'm in my late 50s. They are neat. -
slowdeepbreath's picture of the TV reminded me of this--we didn't get to watch TV unless a teacher brought one in from home for something very special. But we did watch film strips! Did anyone else listen to radio programs at school? We listened to several programs on Wisconsin School of the Air. We didn't have an art teacher and one of the programs we listened to was Let's Draw! I don't think there are very many people whose art teacher was the radio
