Thank you all for the birthday wishes and beautiful pics. I hope you all have less pain and can get some sleep tonight. I had my iron infusion again today. Been sucking on peppermint candy because of that metal taste from the iron...yucky. Even my dogs sniff at me and turn the other direction.

Jwoo---I thought we had freedom of speech. My research showed all sites that have Terms of Use requirements include in some form the Freedom of Speech clause. The law then allows them to negate that by allowing any form of discretion they want on determining what is acceptable to THEM. Shocking, I know. Took me days to believe it.

From this experience I learned to understand the story of the MATRIX. I was on the outside, looking at the words on the screen, not being able to communicate. Very bizarre. I wasn't plugged into the MATRIX.

I was sent notices of restrictions in the future, after the ban was lifted

So, we communicate, but we are watched. Or at least I am.

If anyone has read George Orwell's 1984, this is the epitome of Big Brother. It's not just here it's all over. Pretty freaky. Orwell wrote his book in 1936. His focus was what Hitler was doing. He put the time of the book into the distant future so he wouldn't be killed for what he wrote.

I remember very well reading it in the late 60's and being entranced by what he described. I reread the book a few years ago. What in the 60's amazed, was in the 2000's plodding. That in itself amazed.

There have been studies re: our freedoms granted by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution that show people are willing to give up their freedoms to feel safe. But where does it end.

Fast forward to this century and everything Orwell wrote of is standard day activity/action/thought monitoring. What was absent from Orwell's book was the DELETE button.

    We are in the MATRIX

PP- that stinks. I hope they are making you feel a little better though.

Sas, I fully agree. At work it is the big joke, but we are all creeped out all the time.

OK I'm up good time to catch up cuz I'll probably sleep most of the day.

Oh 1984 was a bizarre book in the 60's now it 's more than that, everyone can be monitored at any time the government chooses--really spookie, fine for the enemies but where does it end.

Oh spookie I loved that little doggie, ours is a border collie and lab and he is so smart and not stubborn I don't know what they understand but he seems to get a lot of things quickly.

Obviously I don't know how to handle a husband except to divorce them, but Nettie u need u'r rest especially now and just tell him that, I don't understand why he's so stubborn about the sleeping arrangements, I mean if he knows u'r having a problem, why can't u 2 just sleep apart for a while and see if u notice a difference in how u feel. That's all.

Blessings u are a dear, u'r name fits u so well.

I'm just starting to hear the birds wake up that means it's time for me to go back to sleep. LOL

Sass, you are amazing.  Just wish you could have been there when I went in for my hip... Ha!  You wouldn't have made me get up to get in the wheel-chair for that bathroom trip!   They SHOULD have put that catheter in if they even "assumed" it was broken.  Oh well, I survived.

Why did you leave that job?  Sounds like you knew more than the other people around you!

The Doc did the blood test,  for the uric acid, but it came back okay... she said sometimes it doesn't show up?   We still don't know for sure.  But his heel was better, and walking on it within 2 weeks...  Just don't think an Achilles Tendon tear heals that quickly.

Nettie...  I kind of know what you mean...  but YOU will get more stubborn than him, the older you get....  or the more TIRED of it all you become.   Yes, I hear that too!

Sometimes he asks what is wrong, and I say "it just hurts..."  And he says, "I know, my hands and arms go numb when I sleep, and my left knee gets pains."

So right away it is "done with me" and how can we fix YOUR problems!

But I think you are used to it....  You just have to think by yourself.  Think of how YOU can fix things, cause he ain't-a-gonna!   He thinks of himself, so you can too!

I don't know about your sleeping situation, but I think I would really try something else. Like in another "bed" or even in the neighbors house... Ha!  So have you tried sleeping aids?

And yes....  I THINK you need to ask for some sort of depression pills!  If you can stop worrying, that would help!   Find a Doctor that will listen to you..... like WE do!

Sass, I don't think she will report anything...  There ARE hot-lines she can call to talk to SOME-one.... even in the middle of the night...  When things get just too damn rough, you can talk to someone.  These agencies know how to help you...  You can start with calling the non-emergency police line, and they will direct you.

Wakes you up for sex?  How old IS this guy?  WHERE is that skillet?

Tell him, "Okay, it's either NOW before bed, or forget about it in the middle of the night... DAMNIT!"

Love you pictures Susan!  And I really do love the rest of you gals!

SASS!!!!!  Oh God, just watch your P's and Q's!  Dang girl!   I know you don't like email, but sometimes that is the best way to communicate,  you know?    I don't even know what a matrix is...

    image

Okay Cammi.... THAT was funny.... about handling a husband....  Yes, it takes a Village.... Ha, ha!  I heard that somewhere... but it's true.

SOMEtimes it takes shaking the living day-lights out of them, by just taking off, and promising to never return!  Then you do this several time, with lots of tears and help and friends and classes, and meds for him, and somehow seeing past all that heart-ache, and starting over.

    But everyone is different, right?

Blessings, I did read your question and I thought I answered, but that may have been in one of my posts that disappeared!  :(  However, I have NOT been to pain management and can NOT go without a referral!  My sister in law works for a pain mgmt doctor and she advised that unless it just gets completely unbearable, that I NOT go!  She said some of the laws under our new insurance regulations have changed so that if you are under the care of pain management, you have much difficulty getting pain meds at any other medical facility without the consent of the pain doctor!  I don't know all of the legalities, but believe me, she would NOT lead me astray!  She wants me to feel better also, but doesn't want me to get tangled up in the new laws until absolutely necessary!

I'm not sure where I stated that he would wake me up for sex...if I did say that, it was in a moment of dementia!  ha!!  Anyway, he learned early on in our marriage that you NEVER wake me for that!  Even as a young'un, I didn't tolerate that!  Now, I'm sure, when his alarm goes off at 4 am, he would like to have that, but that would start WWIII!!  That's one of our other problems, we don't agree on the "when" that should happen!  And until I start getting rest, guess what, it probably won't!

Anyway, last night was fairly decent for me, he turned the TV off around 11, so I was probably asleep by 11:30, didn't wake at all until his alarm went off at 4..so that's what, about 4 1/2 hours of constant sleep!  I think I dozed again between 5 - 6:30!   That's pretty good for me!  If I could get this to happen most nights, I think I would be much better!

thanks for all the concern!  It helps just to be able to get it off my chest!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!  Sorry, I haven't been commenting to everyone, I do read and I do constantly think about all with issues!  And I thoroughly enjoy all the lightheartedness that goes on on this thread!

And Sas, I to would call BS on the moderators deleting a PM!!!  That's just dictatorship!!  Hope I don't reap the same by posting how I feel about it!

Yes, Sas, you aer such a wealth of information, it's sad to think that you can not send us information even through PM!  I will PM you my email, so if you ever try to send me something that gets deleted, you can send that way!

I'm not sure I'm cool with the knowledge that someone is monitoring even our PM's!!  But it is good to know, that way if need be, we can find another way to communicate!

So, Sas, please let me know if you do NOT get my PM containing my email address!

Oh it's afternoon now and Friday, which I forgot so I'm probably going to my other DD's tomorrow so I hope the weather is good so I can go in the pool. I used to be a stand in for Esther Williams--only older people would know who that is) yes I stood by the TV and just would stand there watching her.  I'm floopy today for no reason. Just floopy.

So I don't have much to ay except I'm floopy so I'll be back when I unfloop.

Can't remember when I lasted posted.

Happy belated Birthday Pawprint. You's just a baby yet.

Sorry TangARang for more problems. Since I read and am not yet caught up I hope nothing else has "sprung up". Gads no WBCs or RBCs. Hope you are resting and not letting any germy people around you. At least it's not flu/cold season so much. I saw Sassy's strong recommendation about a Critical Case Manager. I had never thought to suggest that but with all you've been thru I suppose your insurance should have been looking into that too. They need to "limit" their liability too (their best interest to get you well soonest) and that's one way to do it. I had a simple uncomplicated lumpectomy and they offered a case manager to me (though I'm sure not of the caliber Sassy is meaning).

Nettie - I doubt I would still be married if DH and I slept in the same room. I snore, he snores - despite his denying it. He's the muscle twitchy type too. Light/sound outside don't much bother me. We lived on major freeway for 18 years with helicopters, sirens, etc daily. Now live on road though not major does get gas fracking trucks at all hours. BUT I do not want that noise next to me, turning over, whacking me, snoring - room could not hold king size bed. I also sometimes have very vivid dreams, used to sleep walk well into my teens and still awake on occasion "seeing" things - giant spiders are still a fav. So we happily sleep in separate rooms - prob have for 10 years. I slept on the couch for years in old house, would move there in the middle of the night. Not doing that now, too old, creaky to do it regularly. I bookmarked Sassy's links but haven't read them yet. Have you considered going on strike - no housework, no clean clothes, no real food till you get some "real" sleep? I've done a day or 2 when I've been mad - esp. the food thing. Clothes we could go for 2 weeks and then we'd run out of undies 1st. His crack about his hurting - paraphrasing - yeah I hurt too, that cut me to the quick. I would have bawled big time. Has he walked in your shoes, does he worry about cancer with every twinge? Wish I could be there to give you a big ole' hug and have some sweet tea with you.

Blessings - Almond Roca syrup? Where by chance do you buy this? We have a few coffee shops here but not like Seattle or even Dallas has. Even the biggie places like my Central Mkt. only have the really pop. kinds - vanilla, hazelnut. Gosh I looked up some recipes using it. Yum.

Thanks Nettie for the older ladies yodeling. Saw that on the local news tonight.

Nice to meet you Liz uh Chevy. Need to get some dishes done. DH has to be at work at 6am tomorrow. Audit time. At least he's been off today and get's off at 2 pm tomorrow but expect he will come home and crash.

Well, it's been an interesting week. Still haven't unpacked from our week at the beach; not looking like that's going to happen any time soon, either!

I DID put away the Easter decorations tonight, though.... woot!

Tuesday was DH's birthday. Dad took us out to dinner - baby back ribs with all the fixin's! But I was a good sport and went along with it. Even brought gluten-free cupcakes and a candle for afterwards. Mostly, it was nice to see Dad so happy.

Wednesday was our anniversary. I slept in til 9:30, got up, and we went to the Sleep Apnea class at Kaiser, and DH got his machine. That was when I realized that I needed the test, too! So I emailed my PCP and got a referral 7 minutes later.

I lay down for a nap at 2 pm and woke up at 7 pm. Totally missed dinner. Oh well.

Yesterday... hair color and cut. Busy day.

Today, slept in, vegged, went to Kaiser at 5pm for ANOTHER Sleep Apnea class (the other one didn't count, because we were logged in under DH's number.

Different speaker tonight - very nice woman. They want you to put the watch-like thingy and the finger clamps on your non-dominant hand (my left hand), but when I explained to her I'd had lymph nodes removed on the left, she said to just put everything on the right - it didn't matter. I'll wear the equipment tonight, take the machine back to Kaiser tomorrow, and get a report in a few days.

If it turns out that DH and I DO have Obstructive Sleep Apnea, the next step is for us to take home APAP machines for a week so they can be calibrated to our individual needs.

What if my constant fatigue is from lack of sleep and not thyroid? What if my extreme pain is from lack of oxygen to tissues and muscles? What if my rising blood pressure is from increased cortisol and adrenaline from stopping breathing during the night?

The clerk said this was a huge deal to find out if we did have OSA - and that it would affect all areas of our health, including blood pressure and blood sugar.

Now I'm really curious! Will keep y'all posted.

My DH had apnea so severe that they were going to remove his soft palate.  That's not something anyone should do because we have since found out it only works for a little while and causes major swallowing problems.  We didn't know that though at the time.  Three days before the surgery the doctor prescribed Claritin (which was not over the counter then).  Well, Claritin greatly reduce the sleep apnea.  A prescription nasal spray along with the Claritin stopped the apnea all together.

He has been on Claritin for years now and has had no side effects.  He has 11 stents in his heart so he and his doctor are really careful about meds.  He doesn't need a mask and usually sleeps well.

Chevy, Hugs..I'll keep it to a minimum. But I'm intense. Like ya'll didn't pick up on that. You do so much to keep me sane. So does Cami. What the two of you can communicate with use of humor plus solid info,  amazes :)

BTW the MATRIX is a movie. Scyfy. Of course can picture the lead guy but can't think of his name. Worth renting it. They did a couple of sequels. To get the plot you would have to see the first. I couldn't sit through the sequels. They got a little out there.

LMG's when I did my last nursing year, I was in Homehealth. The company I worked for owned everything you can think of--3 hospitals, ancillary satellite facilities of all kinds, docs, DME, HH, private duty, hospice AND the insurance company. Forget why I had contact with this Insurance case manager that was major critical care management specialist. She's be at the top of the trouble line. Catastrophic cases. When I was dx'd with BC instead of having the oncology nurse case manager, I asked her to take my case. Worked really well. Then we did the same for the brain surgery.  I suggested this type for Tang b/c of the complications she's going through. She needs someone that is bigger than the usual. Tang has so many subspecialties working, that need someone that can keep them all communicating. Just as you say, she will be working in Tang's best interest.

Based on many of our posts, lots of us have /had spouse that have sleep issues or we do. Interesting.

2TA hope the job fair got you some nibbles.--------HUGS hang in their. Something has to hhappen

    Nettie Hugs

$$$$$$$$4444444, update please. Last you posted you had your flap down with thigh tissue and then were going to work a catering gig.

Enerva praying for your sister. It seems so long ago she was diagnosed.

Blessings I liked that approach about getting an answer. Directed. Firm about response. Follow through. Thanks

I learn so much from all of you :).

Hey Smarrty how's it going. Update please. You give updates, then it slides right out of my head.

I just recently did something with the cocoa butter I got for the thyroid scar. I started using it on my feet then putting socks on. Pretty Feet. Anywhere that it wasn't soft and pretty, is now soft and pretty. I use those socks we got in the hospital that have the stuff on the bottom.

DBBF up L&H&P's and a twinge of sleepiness Yay  L&H&P's Owlettes :)
