Hi All, spent the past several hours reading and trying to catch up (on BCO and emails). Been a very busy week, trying to readjust my sleep schedule so I'm asleep by midnight and not sleeping most of the morning away. Well, it looks like I blew it tonight as it's after 1 am here. Only got to 1 (of 2) job fairs this week, and it turns out it was a total waste of time (the only positions they had were sales/marketing and finance/insurance, nothing I have experience with or interest in. If it involves commissions, I'd probably be owing them money!) Planned to go to another Thursday. but a cat jumped out in front of me as I was walking downstairs in the house and in trying to not step on the cat, I twisted my ankle.
So, briefly, in trying to play ketchup:
Thanks to all for your kind words of encouragement regarding my job search, trying hard to not become frustrated and discouraged, but I have faith the right job is around the corner.
I've enjoyed all the pictures, especially of family members.
Smaarty. so awesome you have lost so much weight! Great accomplishment!
Blessings, thanks for all the info about sleep apnea. I am now convinced my DH has OSA. If I read it correct, you are getting some relaxing in, good for you! Congrats on the wedding anniversary! (Tues was DH's b-day, Wed was anniversary.... ok, I see this HAS been a busy week for you so good thing you concentrated on what's really important and that's not unpacking)
Pawprint, Happy Birthday, my friend! Sorry Annie Mae (the miracle pooch) is having difficulty adjusting. Smart move taking an extra day off for yourself and starting with the smoothies/juices (DD took her juicer when she moved out 2 weeks ago, am really missing it). Up for getting out of the house on the extra day off? (lunch down in your area?)
Tang, hoping you're feeling better.
Nettie, sorry you're having so much freaking pain. Fantastic news about the 2 new grand babies!
Enerva, what a beauty are you! Pretty dogs too. Is the pretty kitty yours. How is your sister doing?
Sassy, thanks to you too for all the info about OSA. Found it very interesting. So, what happens when you get deleted? Does this happen after you post (and then lose everything)? Hopefully you get off restriction soon. My heart goes out to you for what would have been your wedding anniversary. And for glass cloudiness: a little of whatever you put in the dishwasher (crystals, powder or liquid) with some water, very concentrated has worked wonders for me)
Chevy, made the recipe you suggested with the tenderized steak yesterday. Yummy over mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy! Thanks! That recipe is now a keeper (especially since it's so easy).
Mostlymom, beautiful dog!
For whoever asked: was dx'ed the first time at 41, 57 the second time and age-wise, following right behind Pawprint.
I have enjoyed reading all the posts on my cell, even if I don't get the images. Feel closer to you all than my "other" family members! Lots of hugs to all of you, especially those of you I didn't mention by name.
Better post before I lose this all. Don't have the energy to think it all up again.

Okay, so what is going on here? I'll just BET that all you guys have automatic dish-washers, and that is why you have a soapy film on your glasses?
See? You need to throw that dishwasher out, and just do them all by hand! Spoiled little girls!
When I wash dishes, I just use Dawn, then a little scoop of Oxy-clean, and wash them nicely-nicely, with a sponge or dish-cloth, rinse them in hot water, and let them dry in a dish rack. Or if it is glasses, turn them upside down on a bar-towel, and let them dry.
See? No automatic nothin', no noise, and I don't know nothin' about dish-washers.
You can also soak them in a little white vinegar it says!
Okay, now next week, I'll show you properly how to hang clothes on your clothes-lines. That's AFTER I show you all the proper way of using a wringer-washer and rinse tub in a hall-way.......
Sass, you little dickens! I would NEVER be mad at you, or anyone....! Just imagine waking up, and not being able to find all our friends here... I would be just mortified and lost.... When you or anyone else are NOT home here, it just makes us worry... And we imagine all SORTS of things!
Sometimes we even make UP things! Like for instance, when Cammi is gone, we just automatically know she is in bed, with her KatyKat and Joey, and as soon as she sleeps it off, she will be back...
444444444444? Well she has 12 kids and can't keep track of NONE of them, so she takes breaks....
And we are all taking care of or worrying about all of our pets!.... I love that you all talk to me about your pets...
Okay.... I'm just so glad that you all are here again.... Now I have to go do some important things..... xoxoxoxo

2nd it's always nice to see u and I'm glad that u'r too busy to post, that's th best reason.
Mostly mom u'r Dog is beautiful.
Kind of a wreck this morning my DD took my SIL to ER now have to wait, big pain in stomach and vomiting--he does have some different problems there, but I just want to hear he's basically all right. I'm glad Joey's not home he'd be crying his eyes out. Right now it's the waiting game and we all know what that's like---CHIT.
OK I'm sure I'll be back, I hope everyone has a good day or at lease a decent day.
BTW I agree with Sas--we should be kind and gentle with one another--I do have to say I think we all are. Altho we do have an occasional post about someone being a brat or a lil chit, (no names mentioned) but I think we all understand ageing is not our friend and some just loose it sometimes (no names mentioned) so that's where our gentleness comes in because we are a peaceful family here--well most of us (no names mentioned).

GM owls, I got this @ work and knew I had to share!
Owlie Skywarn, the National Weather Service's go-to-owl for safety and
preparedness information, needs your help spreading the word about lightning
safety this week! It's important to "HootOUT" about lightning safety to as many
people as possible.http://www.ready.gov/thunderstorms-lightning
http://www.lightningsafety.noaa.gov/index.htm
Love you ladies, be safe out there! ((hugs)) ♥

this is what I was told, Sas, maybe you can make more sense of it:
I asked her:
"Hey, you told me something about once you see a pain dr, they have to contacted before any pain meds are given by other drs???? Or did I dream this??"
This is her answer:
"That is true...once u are under narcotic agreement with them. Now they won't give u pain meds without the agreement"
-
Sassy - I saw JWoo's answer about the cloudy glasses. I thought you meant ones you had thrifted. I may have misunderstood. Did you mean cloudy from the dishwasher? I think a good rinse agent in your dishwasher tab for that.
-
Have got to get off and get ready for church. Hand wash dishes - yes those plastic containers that have sex and multiple during the night. Have you tried Palmolive's new coconut dish soap? I even bought an extra bottle in case they decided to stop making it. At least it smells good.
Cami - so scary about your SIL. Hope is turns out to be nothing.
MostlyMom - cute doggie. It's hard to believe but my little rat terrier is 7. Already beginning to turn gray around the muzzle. Cutest little Yorkie (friendly, petable) at my vet's office. Has relatives available but DH says NO!
Sassy - I neglected to give my sympathies for your wedding anniversary. Days I want to kick mine to the curb but then worry when he's 10 minutes late home from work. ((((HUGS))))
-
WTF have I missed Luv sex containers and hand wash them? What is that anyway.?
OK so far this is the story the Drs. in ER are keeping him overnight so a specialist can see hime tomorrow, they took a heart, a scan (stomach) and another one and said it looks like a combination of his Div. Gerd and then they found out that he's been taking loads of motrin the last couple of months for his shoulder and the three hit at the same time, but of xourse they want to make sure--he's on morphine shots for now and something else for nausea, so they don't think it's anything different than he's had before but to much motrin. So hope that's it. They seemed pretty thorough and Leslie said the Dr. was super nice and when he heard about Marty's history from his dad was taking another test--he said his own mom was just DX with colon cancer so he wanted to do what he could to make sure that wasn't it. Of course a specialist has to be involved but if it's this it's all treatable. Whew Les is home now to take a shower and Jodies is taking Joey home now so now that we know we can tell Joey cuz he's familiar with this.
-
Morning, lost my post.
BBL. Have to exercise, shower, then finish a newsletter, then to a play, Chorus Line, then to sister's with friends and swim. Friend also had BC 4 years ago. Going to compare boobs, here's doesn't have ridges in them like mine do.
Toodles!
-
2ndtime, hope you find a job soon. The cat 🐈 is not mine lol I took the picture last weekend I went for a long drive to check some trails and falls up north and he was at a place I stopped to buy some honey
🍯 lol I thought he was so beautiful with those blue eyes.
Sister is doing well so far, she has a few fevers that worry me but her Ps will see her tmw to remove her drainage and the Ps may say something about the fever . She is on antibiotics hopping is not too serious .
So far weather is beautiful here in Toronto. I am excited about my appointment with Ps this wed .

Good morning everyone,
It's going to be another hot day here where I live. Summer just began, and I'm so ready for Autumn.
Nice to see you post 2nd...and yes let's do lunch, maybe mid July? By then my energy level will be much improved.
Wow, Smaarty, you have a busy day planned today. Sounds like fun.
Cam, best wishes to your sil. Hope nothing serious.
Have a great day..... Hugs to all.
-
Mostlymom, Are the mini Aussies as smart and stubborn as the big ones? Do they need a lot of exercise?
-
good afternoon peeps, be a long time, hanging in the there....bbl just checking in -
Hey Sassy....
"a normal abnormal variant. "..... See? Like WE can understand that?
Let me see if I partially understand this... So you are saying that you maybe didn't even need treatment? Or something about a goiter, relating to papillary carcinoma? Is this something we should know?
And not even the super-sonic whatever they did to you?
MostlyMom.....Love your picture of your "puppy".... Yes, they are ALWAYS our puppies!
Cammi, is he home and alright? Okay, for "no names mentioned" you sure mentioned my name.... Ha! I resemble that implication....
Thanks badger! Good information! I remember being out on the golf-course, watching our GS's playing golf, and it seemed like whenever they saw a slight rain-cloud, the course would sound those sirens!
Little goats.... okay.... this is what you said...
"yes those plastic containers that have sex and multiple during the night."..... Now I know if Cammi and I can't understand that, NObody can! We are pretty bright you know, but man I can't make heads or tails out of that! You are trying to say "sex" comes in a plastic container? This can't be! Can it? What is the brand name? Where can we find this? And we can have "multiple ones at night?"
Since when? Do we know when this happens? Or is it a surprise thing?
Oh Cammi, I have HEARD that Motrin will just hurt your stomach, big time! Take him prunes.... Morphine will plug him up until sometime next month.
And whatever else you said, about you taking a shower with "Whew Les" then okay... and that "Jodie" (your Daughter?) is taking Joey "home"???? Dang girl! I just don't know what anyone is talking about!
Wren, I have always loved Australian Shepherds... That's what our "Chevy" was.... so loyal, and intelligent! Used to guard our Grand-sons.... He thought they were HIS babies!
Okay.... have a great Sunday gals....!
-
Paw, yes, let's! Hoping you're feeling better, even if just a little bit.
Cami, how's Joey doing?
Is it just me, but does anyone else get confused with "SIL"? Sometimes it's easy to tell between son-in-law and sis-in-law, sometimes not.
Thanks for all you posting that separate sleeping arrangements with DH's are more common than I realized. Glad to know I'm not alone there. I value a good night of sleep.
Amazing, both kitties doing much better today, so much more animated, they were so lethargic (one or both had worms, I know YUCK, trip to the vet yesterday helped).
About the cloudiness in glass, I do all my dishes and such by hand. Have a cool dishwasher (actually, they're 2 small drawers in place of the big one), DH hates it, freaks when we run low on plates (I'll only run when full, much like the clothes washer). I use a small bit of dishwasher powder in vases (especially the hard to clean ones) to remove the white residue, let sit a couple hours, works great.
In the "dose of reality" file: dad took mom to the neurologist last week (after lots of discussions by the director of memory care and me to get her evaluated). Dad said she failed miserably on simple questions like knowing her family (she remembers the three of us kids but back when we were younger) and not remembering we're all married and have families of our own, couldn't name all her grand kids there are only 6, not aware of day, time of day or season, that they moved from Las Vegas almost a year ago, doesn't know uses of common items (what do you with a fork, where do put sox) or at least can't say in a comprehensible manner. Speaks lots of gibberish. Dad finally admits she's beyond dementia. Got the "I need help" text this morning that she now needs adult diapers and how to find size for her. They go to the gerontologist in the next week or so, it will be interesting.
Need a trip to Wally World, not looking forward to going.

gotta share this from W&F (credit, Teka?):

22222222222! I'm sorry about your Mom.... I remember taking my Grandma for some sort of test, where they asked her to identify pictures of fruits, etc. Why do they DO this? By this time she had forgotten her whole life... couldn't remember her 2 kids, her home..... nothing. I was the only one she knew!
I swore after that test I would not take her ever again for another test. It didn't get any better.... But she was in a nursing home... so that helped us both... I would go over and take her "picnics" and sit in front of her, and help feed her, and just talk about nothing special... I was all she had..... If I can help you in any way, just PM me or something.... xoxoxoxoxo

Wren
Whoever said Aussies are "stubborn" doesn't come close to knowing ANYthing about the breed. They are sooo smart it's scarey. Just watch one take on a pissed bull, and make that bull mind. Watch one in any kind of show ring. Watch one guarding his humans. They want and need a job to do. Usually takes one lesson, done, never forgotten. A bored Aussie is a terrible waste of a brilliant dog.
My Aussie had me wrapped around his paws for 14 1/2 years.
-
I would get another rat terrier in a minute but and it's a big one - she has terrible skin allergies. Was on short course Prednisone last summer. Hoping not to do that this summer. Allergic to most outside stuff, but no food allergies. She is very smart, obedience trained well. Will heel, sit to command. Knows if she runs in front of me she gets to do it over again the right way. Sits for food. Knows "gentle" when she gets treat. I knew terriers were bad but hoped since she's not really a "purebred" allergies would be better. I had a wire haired years ago who also had them bad.
I hear so much about Aussies but worry about the hair so much. Not that dog would be outside for long. At least mine only sheds tiny hairs and doesn't have that much anyway. I'm not a great housekeeper. A "mini" version sounds great.
No Cami and Chevy - just where do all those plastic containers come from? They must be making baby containers in the cabinet.
Cami - prayers for your son-in-law (2TA I get confused on SIL too). Motrin can eat away at stomach lining and is not particularly good on the liver/kidneys in high doses. Would have to look up exact ref. for that but for sure know is quick way to gastric ulcers. Hope they get the root cause of his pain under control. Glad it can be explained to Joey in terms he can accept and not worry about too much - if that is possible since it's his dad. Sounds like it was a very good night he spent the night at your other daughter's house. Timing is miraculous, right?
-
Yes Spookie.... Our Chevy, was part Sheltie and Aussie... They are the BEST family dog... so protective of little kids... His fur was nothing compared to our Lacee, who was a Sheltie with that double coat.
Once you learn how to groom them, everything is easy, AND clean! Beautiful temperament... she loved everybody and everything....
-
i love that plastic containers multiply but wish they wouldn't keep losing their lids....
our mini aussie is very intelligent and active. she has slowed down with age but so have we.
loving carrots we got from the farmers market - i'm easy to amuse!
-
Mm.... You would not beLIEVE the mushrooms I found coming up in our yard one time! All I will say is, I laughed so hard...! I had to take one to work, so the gals would believe it! I would be embarrassed to post a picture....... yes.... even me.... Ha!

This is me, one year ago at 48 just before diagnosis. You wouldn't recognize me today with crazy curly chemo hair. Wow. Life was so innocent and carefree then. This photo makes me want to cry. Miss those days.
-
Little Fierce! That really isn't a bird on your head, is it? Or IS it? You are beautiful! You just don't see that you are now, but you are the same gal you always were... Don't forget it....
Maybe your hair is different... but you can work with it, right? You will just be a "new" you! xoxoxoxo
-
Fbb, you are beautiful.
-
Fierce BB: what a beauty and you still are!
Used to bug me when friends said there was nothing worse than a bad hair day. Uh, really, try a no-hair day. But that's only temporary. Took a while to be comfortable with the new permanent-permanent hair (aka chemo hair) but that's ok too. Didn't that bird ever poop in your hair?
