I'm trying a new regiment of smoothies to go along with my iron infusions. So twice a day I make smoothies out of spinach, kale, strawberries, banana, vanilla protein powder, and lots of ice, along with vitamin C and prescription iron pill. I have my labs done in July. Between infusions and smoothies I hope to get my energy back up. I also adjusted my work schedule and I'm giving myself 3 day weekends. Looking forward to positive results from all of this.

Poor puppy. Have you seen the inflatable collars for dogs? I found Spookies at Petco, was much easier than an e-collar

good luck paw...hope it works for your energy :)

I think I am going to get a......sas explained it.......someone to manage my stuff. I think I would like someone else writing all this down and communicating with my doc. My onc only treats cancer stuff...starting to figure this out with reading sas stuff.  So I will try a different route to see if we can get a handle on the restless leg and fibromyalgia, and headaches and and and......when I talk to doc, and nurse, they get that deer in headlight look.   They don't know what to say unless it relates to the chemo treatments. These other things I have had all my life. Never cared....since I was born with the stuff, didn't know life any different. But know when I take some of the pain meds, I am like, wow, this is what it feels like to feel good.....started  me thinking...scary thing for me to do....but I know there is better meds out there to treat and target issues, and it isn't just pain meds. So I have a call into my internetist to see if she knows of anyone I could see. I am sure she does.

So thanks everyone !!!!!  From reading all your posts, and sassy is the best, I think I am going to get a better handle on all of this. :).  :)

Just poppin in to check in---

Paw everytime I look at Annie, I feel so bad poor baby.

And I also feel bad for all of u that this horrible disease came into u'r lives too especially some being just to young. I'm 69 now but like most of u until I actually walk or look in a mirror I think I'm 17, well my brain is childish still most of the time---My favorite age was in my early 30's--I enjoyed raising my kids alone then cuz no one told me what to do about anything, well no one tells me what to do now except my body can be a little bossy and I don't like that. -Like today I was supposed to go to my DD's house not going. So I'm home and it's better thsn trying to act all right when I feel like chit. Oh well it could be worse. I could be over 75. oops sorry Chevy.

    Smarty beautiful kids.

Pawprint I am going to have your dog in my thoughts when I meditate,  one of my dogs had diabetes and I had to give him insulin twice a day for 4 months then he got cancer and I had to let him go. I do agree with the vet, she is your little miracle. Sending you hugs

    59 @ DX, NOW 63.

SweetSue, such nice words. Yes, the eyes glaze over when it's not their body part. Your right it's the internist that is suppose to bring it together. But just as in anything, IT'S THE PERSON'S WILLINGNESS TO BE  GREAT at what they do to make them GREAT. I think though it requires some study on our part, otherwise, we can think mediocrity is wonderful.

Whomever wrote that their sister works in a Pain MGT clinic. I couldn't find you. This is very important to discuss at length. We need to understand this. I know there has been a change in government regulations and monitoring b/c of the increase in the recognition of prescription drug abuse. We need more info :)

Chevy, thought allot about keeping discussion away from certain tops. Then I thought about what I wrote in the topic box

"This is a safe haven. No nastiness, bullying, or such allowed. I would like to keep the kind fabric of this thread intact.

Discussion will flow where it will as all threads do. This will be a happy place. I hope with lots of laughing. Talk of things, needs, rants as your mood or thoughts take you. Each person here has a history of helping others. Threads develop pseudo family groups. Fancy way to say we become like family. This family will have all the best a family has to offer, but none of the negatives."  Bolding changed to indicate emphasis  of the discussion at present.

All thoughts should be allowed here except nastiness and bullying.

I know your fear is that I be beanned    LOLOLOLOLOLOL---great typo had to leave it. Made me laugh right out loud.

I meant to say that you are afraid that I be banned. Freedom of Speech is to precious Lovey to keep it to a minimum. If I, you, or anyone wishes to express what we believe LET IT BE SO :)

Oh,  ZIP it miss Cammi!  You little chit!  See, I don't FEEL like I am older than dirt, I just AM!  It doesn't seem like that's supposed to be!   Something must be wrong with those statistics...  Funny, though.... my girls were born in 58 and 61!  So I MUST be older than them, right?  Little brat!

Thrifted today :) found a couple of exquisite pieces. Bought intentionally as gifts for DBBF's son and GF. Going to be very hard to part with them. May not be able to. But then I think (hope) these kids who haven't got much would like to have something beautiful.

Does anyone have a RECIPE for getting rid of cloudiness on drinking glasses?

Enerva your sisters' difficulties in getting proper treatment, does remind me how much better we have it. Will continue praying . She's very lucky to have you as her advocate.

PP why has Annie Mae got the collar on again? Itching?

    2nd waving.....Ollie,ollie, oxen free

Just back from the matinee of Malificent.  Liked it a lot, see if you get the chance.  The pluses for me: I like fairy tales and movies with strong female leads.  And in my dreams, sometimes I can fly, so I loved it when she flew and took me along.  Great graphics as you'd expect from Disney.

Sassy, I have a "Disappearing Civil Liberties" mug.  It has the Bill of Rights but the text disappears when you pour in hot coffee.  It'll now remind me of you.  I used to have one that was the Star Trek transporter room; Kirk and Spock beamed away.  And a friend of mine had a Cheshire Cat mug.  Everything but the smile vanished when you filled the mug.

I'm 54 now and was 50 at dx.  ♥ to all

Sassy - I think it was Nettie who wrote about SIL working in pain clinic. What she said kinda scared me too. Always keeping one eye peeled toward the future.

No No -  we don't want you beanned or banned.

    I'm 61. Was diagnosed at 59.

Sassy - What is you opinion of Fosamax? Onco wants me on it for osteopenia but gyn who saw same Dexa said not yet needed. I think gyn had 8 years of Dexa's - don't know why clinic only reported the one 2 years ago. I think he saw a bigger picture than onco did. Wish I'd gotten those 2 extra to him. I'm afraid of Fosamax. Silly I know - I had/have no real fear of Femara - assume SE's are the price to pay for decreased BC risk. I see no tooth extractions/root canals in my future. Crowns maybe but I'm still debating that with dentist. No driving need to do it though he says sooner or later tooth will crack. The 4 I have I had no real urgency to do them when I did. As usual I did not discuss much about Fos. with onco - more about GERD from it. Need to stop back by next week and talk to their pharmacists. See what they have to say. Mine at my local pharm. was less than informative when I asked about it yest. "ONJ - very rare" and how to take it about all she said. That and no interactions with my other RXs.

Mom always used denture tablets for that cloudiness. If it's mineral deposit not sure it will come off.

Pawprint's Annie Mae had a couple of stitches open up on one eye. Getting restitched next week. Reason for cone of shame.

Littlegoats My machine is acting very screwy. It's shut down twice trying to answer you . LOL ever notice how the answers get shorter and shorter when it does that? I agree with you re: GYN having a better handle on it. Plus, I'm impressed she's cautious. Is your MO going to be upset if you tell him your Gyn is going to be managing that aspect of you're care b/c she has been doing it for 8 years?

I had one friend that had jaw necrosis, 30 years after radiation. Her left jaw was removed. I was wary of the biphosphanates before this happened to her. So, I'll wait till there is a decline from where my density levels are now. Particularly, since in late summer of 2012 b/c I was wary/scared of biphos drugs, I asked for MIcalcin. Micalcin was the likely cause of the two bladder stones(Sept and Nov. 2012) and GOITER. With every drug I take I become more wary of anything else

The treatments for me seem to lead to other problems.  Thanks re:denture tabs. Figures, I just decluttered and threw out some of my moms

BTW YOOHOO everyone did I tell you my worldclass big wig doc at Moffitt said that besides not treating me with RAI131, that Papillary thyroid cancer is so common in autopsy studies that in his circles the docs are considering it a normal abnormal variant. There's even a study in Japan that started in 1995 maybe 1999,  where the patients are being followed with no treatment. He's still studying my scenario, but he thinks it was the goiter and that the papillary carcinoma was an incidental finding. I'll know in a couple of weeks. He was soooo fascinating.

Golf Girl did you watch today? I thought of you when I saw it was on. Must be big?

Chevy are you mad at me? I was just joking.

OOPs DBBF home and I got him an etched beer glass, very classy. He rarely drinks a beer, but found out he likes it in a frosted glass. His surprise is this beautiful glass. Lordy,  I'll go broke buying glass  L&H&P's sheila

Age 60 at dx (same age my mom was dx'd); and I'll be 64 this year!

Mom had a radical UMX, no recon, no chemo, no rads, no drugs. This was in 1983, and there weren't many options available. I took care of her when she came home from the hospital. I did wound care and drain care. I guess that's why it didn't freak me out when it was my turn.

For the rest of her life, whenever she went in for a mammogram on her remaining breast, she'd always remind the technician, "Now remember - you're only going to charge me half price for this!!!"

She had a great sense of humor. She passed in 2009 from effects of Parkinson's... at the age of 88... she never had any recurrence of the cancer.

i'm 71 - dx just before 68th bd.  going to my pcp on tuesday to whine about worsening sob plus the usual aches & pains - mainly because dh is getting worried about me keeling over any moment....  huff huff.

my "brain" (dd) will be going with me, thank heavens.  i also think my thinker is getting more bonkers

our puppy (she's 10, but she'll always be a puppy) had the same fabric collar after her foot surgery last week - i haven't see the plastic inflatable ones, but anything is better than those hard plastic collars.  she's a miniature australian shepherd.
