THE WAY WE WERE......LOOKING BACK IS FUN
Comments
-
Then we all ended up here.....after fixing ourselves up.........LOL
-
My grandmother had something she called a Cat O Nine Tails....she always threatened us with it, but never used it.........scared the hell out of us........LOL.....today she would have been locked up...
-
Honestly, the best part of the drive-in for me was the intermission. I loved playing on the swings.
-
Now that looks scary ducky. Looks like a whip!!
-
Ducky some of us "younger" gals ended up here! LOL -
Ms.....don' t remember seeing you, so I want to say welcome.....so glad your here........its so much fun, and a lot of memories........
-
I still have one of those Brownie cameras somewhere.
-
I started talking about his on another thread. When I was a kid, we had this camper - same color. Such good memories!!

I will check it out Onco! Moo

I miss the Drive-In so much! We actually had ours up until 8 years ago. So sad to see it go. Something about the food there. I can't think of anywhere else I'd pay 3 bucks for a pickle on a stick! Sigh....
-
I remember the horrible food at the drive-in, and I loved it!! The last movie I saw there was Jaws.
-
They still have a drive-in about 38 miles from our house. We during the summer with all of the kids in our family. The sound comes in right over your car radio now. People usually sit outside their cars now to watch the movie. It's really fun, but just not the same as when I was a kid.
-
If your kids had a bike with a banana seat, and the high bar in the back everyone thought you were rich....lol
-
I had one of those bikes! But it didn't have a high bar in the back. I was one of the poor kids....LOL
-
I had a mint green banana bike with the high bar.....for a month and someone stole it. My parents didn't replace lol
-
Slow neither were we.........I just found a great sale........LOL
-
This was the original Playtex bottle....the bag that went in it looked like a condom, and you used a gizmo to snap it onto the bottle......anyone remember that....used it with child #6......
-
This is what we sterilized our baby bottles in back in the 50's........and this was called a bottle warmer..took so long I used a small pot with water, and sat the bottle in it on the stove.
-
I breast fed both of my kids for four months. Then switched to formula. When I used bottles, I used these. I would boil everything in a pot.
-
Who remembers using one of these.....if you didn't maybe your Mother or Grandmother did.......not anymore......LOL
-
I remember my mother mixing this in cold water, and dipping the collar and cuffs of dress shirts into it....LOL...........................................Then came spray
-
my grandmother used that bottle and ironed EVERYTHING pillow cases towels sheets hankies you name it. I use the touch up cycle on the dryer as an iron lol
Went to a car show yesterday and they were selling a 57 Chevy for the bargain price of 42 thousand. Really nice car though
-
I quilt & still use the liquid starch that you dip fabric in. I've used it on shirts too & it makes them beautifully crisp & neat. Sta-flo. Good stuff.
I have been wanting one of those sprinkler tops. Quilters do a LOT of ironing. Spray bottles of water don't work very well.
-
Melissa.....go to The Vermont Country Store.........they sell 4 sprinkler tops with cork bottoms to go into a bottle for $11.90.......
-
Thanks Ducky!

Your welcome Mel.........glad to help..........funny I can still see myself standing and sprinkling the clothes, rolling them up tightly, and then coming back later to iron them.............if you didn't finish you would put them in the fridge till the next day.....but heaven forbid you forget they are in there...........now your treating them for "mildew".............LOL
-
A quilt back may be six yards or more of fabric. It is really hard to iron it without putting more wrinles in than you ironed out.
-
Onco.........I was taught on a stick shift too..............This is what it looked like a 1953 Plymouth Belvedere that my almost husband and I bought used for $1,000, from my best friend's Uncle's wife when he died.....she didn't drive.....
