Day 172 (6/23): grateful Dad took Mom to PCP for a couple of issues, most important are appt for neurological evaluation and sleeping pills so both of them can get a decent night's sleep.

6/23- grateful to make it through a day back at work at the client site and surviving all the whiny people! They sure tried to ruin my vacation high! Five more days on this contract before I am done and outta there. Whoot whoot!

Red- glad you are back from Rome. Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Very grateful that when my 20 year old cat, Honey, passed away while we were in Italy, my DD was able to deal with it all. Took her to the vet for us and arranged that we could just call them when we returned. Also grateful that my granddaughter accidentally took the school bus home instead of walking to our place like she was supposed to. She didn't have to be involved in the death directly at all.

Sad though as we will miss Honey and would have liked to have given her final scritches before she passed.

Sorry about your kitty, Red. They do really become part of the family.

Grateful for my two cats (who are 14 years old......when the vet pointed that out, I was shocked at how fast time has gone!).

6/24- grateful for my gardens. I noticed how nice they looked when I got home sunday and picked up a few supplimental plants last night at Lowes to replace the fizzled pansies. Every day there is something new too look at.

Oh Red I'm so sorry, they really worm their way into our hearts and we are left with such a void when they leave us.

Grateful that I am feeling better day by day and my hacking couch is slowly going away.

Grateful I was able to pick a beautiful bunch of roses from my garden and give them to someone who has been having a rough couple of days, it made her cry but it also made her happy.

I am grateful I was able to go and work out at the gym last night. Although I walked nearly 120,000 steps in Italy, it wasn't the same as a good workout!

Red, many years ago a group of reading friends and I started our own book club. We meet once a month at each other's houses. We discuss the book we read for awhile. The hostess provides drinks & dessert, and she picks the next book. Very low key, and it gets us all reading a variety of books. If somebody didn't have time to read the book, it doesn't matter. If the hostess doesn't feel like baking, she buys a pie from Perkins, and if the hostess doesn't feel like picking up her house at all, we'll meet at a restaurant & she picks up the bill, if the book turns out to be a bust we talk about it quickly and then just sit around and visit....very informal.

Grateful that my DH and I live three hours away from his very dysfunctional family of which his mother is the Queen at age 85.  How he turned out so well mystifies me.

I am grateful for my Saturday morning breakfast with the "girls" where we can catch up, complain, share good news and just enjoy each other's company. I look forward to it every week!

Today I am grateful for my DD1 who is coming this morning to help clean up for my pool party this afternoon.

Chrissy, I can just picture Sookie and Honey frolicking. I miss her as I'm sure you do Sookie too. Good news about the knee!

Ruth and Onco, thanks for the info on the book club. Maybe I'll start my own.

    Welcome Wilsie.
