    Quinn, the saving grace regarding Fox News watchers is that they make up approximately .5% of the population!  And the average age for watchers in the evening hours is about 73.  For all the publicity Fox gets (and mostly by the left, and always negative!) the crap the cable channel puts out is largely immaterial!

    By the way (info for SuzieQ) I just bought a Halal chicken.  It cost the same as the regular chicken my supermarket chain sells.  Unfortunately, there were no organic chickens left, even though they cost at least one third to one-half more.

    Good Afternoon Friends,

    The day is flying by!  I've been busy mowing and raking up stuff the chestnut trees are dropping everywhere.  Gosh I wish we could get someone to cut them down.  They are messy all year round.

    Mr. Tim left early this morning.  Wish he could have stayed home one more day.  I had the worst headache yesterday. So I wasn't a lot of fun.

    My two little tomato plants are doing well.  I actually have one teeny tiny tomato growing!

    Blue ... love the pictures, especially the flowers in the hat.  Remember our old friend Jan who used to make flower pots out of old blue jeans!!

    Afternoon....been trying to get some extra things done here but not getting the exact things I wanted to.  Better luck later. 

    Had a pretty good ( but not too long ) pour down this morning and may get another later.  Haven't checked the weather bug lately.    I'm not doing anything outside so it does not really matter to me. Stayed away from the t.v. this morning but caught a little bit of Face The Nation.  I prefer MTP but have real trouble with David Greegory who is so one-sided in his interviews.  Still miss the almost total impartiality of Tim Russert. 

    There was some talk of finding another host though no one is saying it yet.  I hope they do.  I'd love to be able to watch it and actually look forward to it.

    Our little town had a Bikefest today. The Main Street was closed down and restaurant patios extended.  Over 4,000 bikes rode in.  My dh's brother and fiancée were there on their bikes so we had a nice visit.

    Hi Friends,

    Had a busy morning.  I had to return those bi/trifocal progressive lenses today.  The distance part up top was fine, but the bottom part for reading wasn't that great.  For the reading part of it your field of vision was only about 4 inches wide and every time I needed something, instead of looking with my peripheral vision, I had to turn my head. So I took them back and they are going to use the frames I already paid for and have the entire thing made with the reading prescription only.  When I get the chance I'll get my sunglasses updated with the new distance vision Rx.  I tried my best to get used to them ... wore them 6 hours a day for two weeks ... just couldn't get used to them.

    I decided to take the transcription test.  Sent the H/R lady an email and hopefully I can take it tomorrow morning.  She said it's a timed test and takes about 2 hours to complete.  Yikes!  I can concentrate better in the morning.  Sure hope I pass, then I will have some leverage deciding what to do about working for them.  Also, like Jackie wrote the other day, it buys a little time and I may hear from the place that I would like to work for.


    Pip ... were those bicycles or motorcycles?  Sounds like a fun day.  Is your little town anywhere near where Blue lives?

    Bren,  I tried transition trifocals for a month and could not get used to the narrow reading range and the loss of peripheral vision.  I went with old fashioned bifocals, the ones with the line, and a separate pair for the computer.  Later my prescription changed and I just needed bifocals even with the computer. I don't notice the line on the bifocals.

    Get a good nights sleep if you can and have a high protein breakfast.  It's supposed to help with tests.  Best wishes.

    Welcome!  We're glad to have you.  Anyone can post on this forum.  We are all different Stages, some of us are still in treatment and others have been finished for a while.  I've been out of treatment for 7 years next month.

    It took me about a month, but I have the transition lenses and really like them.  I do take them off when going down stairs, though.

    Brigadoon...welcome.  As Bren said, there are some people here still getting txs, but I too have been done for a long time.  Finished rads in 2008 and started Arimidex/Anastrozole which is generic form and finished with that this past December.  So catching up with Bren later this year.  I have been here for a couple of years and don't plan to go anywhere. 

    There are a lot of lively discussions here and it is something I just feel I need.  It has helped me many times over to un-jumble major amts. of the thoughts and feelings I have had for years.  There are people from all over here  and these women are kind, extremely caring, and  very knowledgeable.

    Hope you will come often.

    Jackie - Thank you for the first post AND the second.  We are on the same page there.

    I have often thought how lucky I am to have 100% health coverage during this journey.  I still can't imagine what it would be like to argue with insurance companies for every treatment or to have no insurance at all along with fighting this disease.

    My dirty little secret is that I sometimes wish that they would suffer a reversal of fortune and have to fight for everything they get.

    Big storm here thru the night and still drizzling.  Sigh !!! Frizzy hair in my close future.  Oh well, life goes on.  It did bring our temps down so something good has come.  Lots of news with all the primaries.  Heard a debate on how much time is spent in congress.  So little they do and so much time to do it......that they don't bother to schedule much work time.  Why bother if your not going to do anything anyway. 

    Most of us would have been ushered out of our jobs quite quickly if we behaved as they do.

    In other news, there's a RWNJ running for Congress in Georgia who's saying that Islam is not a religion, it's a geo-political structure.  Well, isn't that what the Teavangelicals want their Christian religion to be in the US?  Honestly, these folks are so stupid!

    Hi Guys,

    I just took the test for the low paying transcription company.  I don't think I did very well.  It was 2 hours long and timed.  The test was strictly a medical terminology test, no transcription involved.  That sucks for me cause I haven't used medical terms, other than psych, for about 12 years now.  They use the MT BOS Guide as the bible for their grammar, punctuation, etc.  Well, I've never used that book.  My psych clients have their own way of doing things, even if it's grammatically wrong! If it was a psych test only I would have passed with flying colors.  They only had one section on psych ... and that's what the job opening is for, so you'd think they would give you a psych test.
     
    I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.  I feel really bad that I probably didn't pass the test for a less than  minimum wage job.  If I get lucky and I passed, I may just take the job so I can have some income ... and I'll keep looking for a better job.
     
    I am so worn down right now. Better get moving though.  Need to make up the guest bed and mop the floors before my mom comes to visit tomorrow.  I walked the dogs early before it got too hot.

    Jackie .. I think we're supposed to get that storm tomorrow.  We could use a little rain.

    Jackie, rain and frizzy hair here - gunked up frizzy hair. I kind of overdid the hair gel trying to keep from turning into a frizz ball. Instead I ended up with greasy looking curls topped by frizz.
